Review: I made a $210 payment on 11/10/2014 and Navient has not applied the payment to my student loan. They will not stop collection calls. They will not rectify the error, despite the requested paperwork being sent in.Desired Settlement: Apply $210 to my student loans. The payment was made.

Review: Navient sent me a PDF file last month verifying increase in student loan monthly payment starting May 5th 2015. When I called to verify this they said I would not be charged for April andy new loan payment plan (as per we agreed) would start in May. In received an email about an upcoming auto debit and when I called to inquire about this the representative assured me my next payment would not be debited until May. I awoke to a 250.00 debit from my checking account this morning breaching our contract and both people lying about my payment for April.Desired Settlement: I want them to not only refund my money but pay for my over draft fee and NOT affect my credit history.

Review: I was enrolled in a rate reduction program for student loans that expired and I called to re-enroll because I cannot pay the full loan amounts. I am 8 months pregnant and spent 2 months in the hospital due to complications and surgery and am on bedrest unable to work. I get a small percentage of short term disability but nowhere near enough to pay my loans. I called and they reduced only one of my loans from $780 to $680 and said my other 2 loans can be paid by my consigner. I talked to my consigner and my mom does not have money left over to pay the loan amounts as she reported to Navient. Josh Randall (supervisor) said yes she can make it happen. They are expecting payments that cannot be paid and we have given proof of that but they don't care. The reduction program is supposed to help customers who are in dire need of help and want to make any sort of payments they can and they did not seem to care to help and very rude while making that clear.Desired Settlement: All 3 private loans to resume in the reduction rate as they were the prior year. Neither myself or my consigner have made anymore income than last year, I've actually made less than half now that I'm on short term disability only get 55% of my salary.

This issue has not been resolved yet.

Review: I have held my student loans through Sallie Mae, which became Navient. When the company became Navient, I began having several reoccurring issues with them. This most recent issue is that I am making payments and they are not reflecting that on their end. However, every statement I've received from them reflects that I have a $0.00 amount Past Due Payments and $0.00 Total Current Unpaid Fees. I'm looking at my most recent statement from them and it shows just that! However, I have been receiving multiple calls from them and third parties every day that claim I am past due! Then I receive a letter in the mail this week that states I am delinquent and they are going to report me to the consumer reporting agencies! This has happened with them before and it turned out they had not been crediting my loan half of the payments I've made. At that time, when I had called them, no one wanted to hear me out. They simply treated me like a deadbeat who was lying to cover not making payments. I had called so many times and talked to so many different people that didn't want to take the time to research anything or help that I don't even want to waste my time now. So I decided to research my checking account deductions as I know I have not missed a payment. Sure enough, they have not been accounting for half of my payments YET AGAIN! I can only go so far back on-line, but from 2/3/14 to 8/10/15, they did not credit my account $1,127.57 in payments! So they are taking my money, but then turning around and harassing me and threatening me claiming that they didn't get it! Ever since Sallie Mae became Navient, it's like the proverbial one hand doesn't know what the other's doing! I'm to the point that I'd rather consolidate my loan through someone else rather than to deal with these people that just want my money but can't even do their job accurately! PLEASE HELP!Desired Settlement: I want my loan account to reflect what I've paid. I no longer want to make 2 separate payments, since obviously they can't handle multiple payments from one party, and if they have reported me to the credit bureau, I want my credit score fixed! I'm working hard to repair my credit score after an ugly divorce, I certainly don't need this unjustly effecting me!

Review: Hello, I am writing to you regarding the Navient company. While attending the University at Buffalo I took out several loans with the company, then known as Sallie Mae. While there I called Sallie Mae to make sure that I would be able to consolidate these loans so that I could pay them off when I graduated. I was told I could, but not until graduation. Once graduated I called Sallie Mae back to consolidate these loans and lower the monthly payment ($1,000). This is when I was told that I had taken out private loans and that I did not qualify for any time of consolidation, based on income or any other program that would allow me to lower payments. I explained to the company that my monthly income was less than the amount they were asking me to pay, and that I was willing to pay what I could for however long it took and they refused to work with me.

I started to take 6 credits at a local community college, paying out of pocket to defer my loans that I could not afford just to I could avoid going into default. When the company transitioned into Navient from Sallie Mae I called them back hoping that they would be willing to work with me now that the government has stressed how crucial it is that these private loans are ruining the future of people like myself who can not afford these payments. I yet again asked to refinance, extend my loan period or anything that they were willing to offer that would allow me to start paying back these loans. I was told that not only was there nothing they would do but that my payments are now at $1,500 a month. While I have moved into a better career, I take home only that a month. I explained this to them again, saying that they are asking me to pay more than I can afford. They gave me no options. I then asked to speak with a supervisor. After speaking with him and told the same information I asked to speak with his supervisor. I was placed on hold for over 45 minutes without being answered. Then I was hung up on. I left a message saying that I had asked to speak with a supervisor and was then hung up on and that I requested them to call me back. They never did.Desired Settlement: By giving you this information I am hoping that Navient will be held responsible for these actions. They have a borrower who is willing to work with them. Someone they are putting into an impossible situation that would be financially devastating. They also refused to speak with me by placing me on hold then hanging up.

I would like them to contact me with ways that we can work with each other to get these loans repaid by being reasonable and willing to negotiate, just as the government has asked.

Review: Navient pulled two payments from my bank account. They proceeded to blame me for the error even though I have been making on time payments for eight years. According to them, I submitted the payments on different days but both were pulled on the same day, and according to their website, it had said I still needed to make a payment. They also would not refund my money in a timely enough manner, nor would their customer service agents offer me an acceptable solution to the problem. They said it would take 7 to ten business days to refund my money, even though they already received the payment. They also said they cannot expedite the process until the payment clears in my account, but I do not have access to the funds, and they have already received them.

I am extremely upset and disappointed in how Navient handles they accounting practices, how they speak to their customers, and at the lack of help I require considering is pent over an hour on the phone half of the time spent on hold.Desired Settlement: I would also like navient to credit me a future payment on my account as a reimbursement for the stress caused and the amount of my time they have wasted. I would also like an apology for the treatment I received, and a guarantee that this will not happen again in the future, as now I feel uncomfortable making payments to a company that is irresponsible with how they handle my money.

Review: Navient is running an excellent scam ! I put in to consolidate my loans back in September 2014, they consolidated, Great Lakes and Fed Loan servicing however Fed Loan Servicing did so before everyone, therefore Great lakes cancelled the consolidation and returned the funds back to the Department of Education, unlike Navient. I have had to call them nearly 1 a week since September 2014 for them to return the funds as what they were doing is ILLEGAL!!!!!!!! Navient was trying to have me pay them for the same exact fed loans as I was already paying Fed Loan Servicing. Then the day I call them, not to mention nearly 5:00 EST Monday, March 16th as the day was winding down, their representatives started calling me off the hook. When I called back I received a very snarky man named Keith at [redacted] (Just in case you can't reach anyone there) whom said today that they will return the funds back to the Dept of Education. WOW only 8 months later and they are doing THIER JOBS. I hope the Department of Education reads this.Desired Settlement: They were to have a lawsuit filed against their actions with me, and probably thousands of others for their business practice negligence from the Department of Education and I would like any money paid to them returned. Also, an apology for having to call nearly 15 times to push their RUDE staff to do THIER JOBS.

Review: I have made payments on my delinquency above what the recommended monthly payment is and they have continued to call and harrass my mother and I over 10 times a day every day. Review: Navient has reported me to the credit bureau. They can not give me an explanation as to why. I have not been late because the payment is automatically drafted out of my account. Review: I needed to obtain a document stating how much I will be paying a month on my student loans once I go in to repayment. I needed it for my mortgage company, and it is the last piece of information I need to close on my house 12/05/14. I contacted Navient on 11/18/14 at 3:07pm immediately after my mortgage officer contacted me telling me that was something he needed. The woman on the phone (can't remember her name) and she told me a request for the form I needed was put in with ASAP on it, and that I would have it by 11/27/14. On Monday, 12/01/2014 I contacted Navient again at 4:45 pm wondering where my document was. I needed it today (12/03/2014) and it was cutting it close. Wendy then informed me that more information was needed and instead of CONTACTING me and getting that information, they just put it on the back burner and forgot about it. They have all my information, contacting me would be an easy task. Wendy then told me she will send me the information I need, but it would take 12 hours to be in my correspondence section on my online account manager(where I can print from), and 24-48 hours to my email. 43 hours later, I haven't received anything. I needed that document THIS MORNING or I would not be able to close on my house this Friday. I also sent a complaint email yesterday and 9:00 AM because the wait time to speak with a representative was 45 minutes, and 26 hours later I have had ZERO problems resolved, and no one helping me.Desired Settlement: It's already too late, my closing needs to be rescheduled due to lack of customer service and assistant. I JUST WANT MY INFORMATION and an apology. I have never been so mad in my entire life.

Review: I tried to make a payment on my loan via my debit card and was told that they would not accept my debit card because it was a credit card.

They had no logical explanation as to why my debit card was not being processed. Even though I have done the same exact procedure.

I had to wait on the phone for 40 min and 2 seconds and then an additional 11 minutes and seconds

They literally passed my call around 4 times. Very frustrated.Desired Settlement: I would like to continue to make payments via my debit card

Review: received statement of over due payment AFTER payment had been made. Had trouble contacting customer service and web site was down. If their SYSTEM (as they called it) can issue a over payment letter AFTER payment was made online that tells me the system is working and knows when I made a payment but won't acknowledge such payment for 2 to 4 business days they why can't the system check to see if such payment has at least been submitted to their system? After being transferred to to several out of country reps and finally to a state side rep who told me how the system works and I have to conform to what she said. I have been paying this loan to Salliemae servicing for years and have NEVER had a problem. Now Navient is servicing this student loan and I'm having problems, web site down, customer service closed, little to no information about these corporations and little to no way to resolve issues. Corporations should be responsible for their book keeping or at the very least make information available when it is needed to verify if the information is correct or incorrect as it was in this situation.Desired Settlement: If Navient is going to issue delinquent letters after payment is submitted, Navient should be accountable for their actions. If Navient is only going to process transactions on business days then delinquent letters should only be sent out on business days only after it is confirmed the account is ACTUALLY deliquent. If Navient can not do perform actions in a business like manner, either Navient should cease doing business or do business like it claims it does like having a working web site.

Review: I spoke to Mr. [redacted] (Navient aka Sallie Mae rep) recently and let him know that I could not afford a $368 payment and how that is more than 10% of my income. [redacted] has new laws in place for companies like Sallie Mae aka Navient that prey upon individuals and attempt to deprive them of their lively hood. I am willing to make payments, but I will not be making payments that equal more than 10% of my income. I also asked that Navient send me a copy of my promissory note, as well as, an explanation on how my loan shot from $12,000 to $26,000. Still I never received anything via mail as requested. Sallie Mae aka Navient has been harassing me and causing me emotional distress because of this issue. It is extremely stressful to continue to get daily-hourly harassing phone calls, as well as, negative feedback on my credit. Navient is attempting to deprive me of life. I have asked for help and for a program that will suit me, but Navient refused and instead continues to prey upon me. I requested a copy of my promissory note, I requested information on how my loan went from $12,000 to $26,000, I requested Navient develop a payment within 10% of my income, I asked that Navient stop reporting negative feedback to my credit, and I asked that Navient stop harassing me via phone and email daily. This company is attempting to cause me more financial hardship, just as they have caused me emotional distress. The emotional distress Navient has caused me has resulted in me being on bed rest numerous times.

Navient has refused to come up with a fair lawful payment agreement. [redacted] set laws in place so former students with student loans won’t be preyed upon and deprived of necessities from life due to paying student loans. I am only required by law to pay 10% of my income towards student loans. However, Sallie Mae is requesting approximately 50%. The combination of the harassment and the inability to be able to pay the ridiculous amount requested has caused me intense distress. Navient is totally uncooperative and they continue to prey upon the ones whom have attempted to further their education by participating in illegal predatory acts.Desired Settlement: I want Sallie Mae aka Navient to send me all information requested (promissary note that I signed as well as information showing why and how my loan has increased. I also want Navient to stop calling me and remove negative feedback from my credit report.

Review: I have called these people several times. I have asked them to send me a 30 day pay off report. One worker will say ok and that it will take 1-2 days for the report to be sent to email and now it has been 5 days and I still didnt receive anything. Then I called back and a different worker told me they would send the report. I asked how come the person prior didnt send the report? They told me there was not any record of one being processed. So now I had to wait another 48 hours until I would receive my email. Today marks another 2 days of waiting and still have not received anything from navient. Not sure what location I am talking to since you call a 888 toll free number, but all promises made from this company is never met.Desired Settlement: I want my 30 day payoff letter for my loans sent immediately!

Review: I have a student loan balance of $127,320.90. All of the payments have now come out of forbearance and they are asking for $1031.36 a month. I called up Navient to discuss options to lower this payment as I only make $30,000/yr, I am married and my spouse is legally permanently disabled and receives a limited SSDI amount, and my income does provide for both his and I living. I called to see about reduced payments and after about 45 minutes of being put on hold, and unsure answers I was told that there was NOTHING that could be done to lower my payments. They asked me to get the cosigner to pay, to which I explained there is no relationship there with the cosigner who is a step mother who is no longer in my life for legally and they basically told me that I should just default and deal with it when I am in collections. I just want to be responsible and pay my bills. I told them the most I can afford monthly would only be $450.00. They told me basically no dice, there is no way or chance that they would ever accept that amount from the asking $1031.36 and they would see what "they could do" which probably won't be anything less than $736.00 a month if they even can because all of the loans are NOT eligible only one. Even that amount $736.00 is too much. I don't understand why they cannot work with someone willing to pay a certain amount each month at $450.00 a month to at least make a payment and be current and do the right thing and then told by the lender to just let it default. What kind of business practice is that?? That is horrible. Now I am stuck here waiting for a phone call that I may or may not even get and it's all up in the air. I am sure as soon as I miss a payment they will be blowing up my phone 4 to 5 times a day. I really just want to lower my monthly payments I know they have several options to do so with all the private loans even though I am being told there isn't. Then Navient shouldn't advertise that there are options. HOW CAN YOU TELL SOMEONE TO DEFAULT??Desired Settlement: Take my desired payment of $450 a month to keep this account current without going into collection and HELP ME! Help me achieve paying my balances rather than working against me and telling me to default and not taking anything at all and demanding money. Just help someone who is trying to do the right thing.
