I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I cannot satisfactorily accept the response until the action is completed and the door is installed and the repairs are made to the trim. The company has put this off for well over a month and is now delaying by two more weeks. When the new door is installed and the repairs are made I will then be satisfied.

Review: We ordered a $12,000 detached garage from Newmart Builders over the phone. We spoke with a representative and all seemed well. We told her the specifications for the building. The building arrived as scheduled, but when it arrived and got put together, one of the garage doors were the wrong size and there were dents all over the doors. We called and stated that the doors were the wrong size and they proceeded to tell us that we did not specify the size of the doors when we did. We made multiple calls to order a new door and they finally got out over a week later to replace the door. Also, every time it rains, our building leaks. We have made multiple calls to have this issue resolved. They stated that they would call back to schedule to have someone come out. They never did. We called back and were told the same thing. We finally got someone to give us a date after 10 days of waiting. That date was 2 weeks more in addition to the 10 days that we already waited. It has not rained since the issue was fixed, so we have no outcome on that situation. We have since ordered another new door to replace the other door that was too small. They replaced that one and left all of the trash from the install in the garage itself as well as outside in my lawn. They also damaged my boat by scratching it. We have tried to call to resolve this matter, but cannot seem to get anyone to give us an answer while we are on the phone or get anyone to call us back regarding any decisions that have or have not been made. We are highly upset with the way our business has been handled with this company.Desired Settlement: We would like for someone to come out and clean up the mess that has been carelessly left. A billing adjustment would be ideal considering the ridiculous amount of hassle this has caused on multiple occasions.

Business

Response:

We have scheduled a crew to be at the customers home on Monday 6/20/16 to address the leak in his building and pickup the trash left at the site.

I ordered an open traditional barn from Newmart Builders and they delivered it within 5 weeks like they had promised. Only one piece was missing and they said they would be back in 2 weeks to finish the barn . They came back in exactly 2 weeks with the missing piece and finished the barn. They called and said what time they would be here and they were on time each time they came. Their work was exceptionally outstanding and the 3 man crew worked together very well and worked very hard all day long. I would give them a 5 star rating and would recommend them to anyone.

Review: In April 2016 I ordered a shed to be delivered and set up on or after June 13th 2016. They delivered and set up the frame, some of the outside metal was damaged. This was on June 17th. They said they would return with new material the following week. It is now August 3rd and I have not been able to get them to come back and finish the job. Any help would be greatly appriecated.

[redacted]Desired Settlement: Cancell the job or get over here and finish with some compensation say 25 percent discounts . We have stayed home for weeks waiting on them, where the defective material lays it's killing our grass. We have suffered.

Business

Response:

We are installing the customers building today 8/10/16.

Consumer

Response:

They did finally come and put the shed up. However, there are so many things wrong with it that the person we had look at said the metal needs to come off and be replaced. I think a representative of the company should personally come and inspect their work.1. There is metal that buckled and not fixed2. There are screws that were put in that missed the frame and were moved. They chalked the holes.3. On the inside there are places you can see daylight4. Many places where the metal is torn and bent over. There are about 48 pictures I can send when I get home August 24 th ,I am in Colorado Springs Co. On a job and will be back home next week.

Business

Response:

We spoke with the customer, and since the dealer refunded their deposit, and they have not paid for the building, the customer asked that we pickup the building. We will get it scheduled to pick up, and we are sorry that this was such an unfortunate situation for our customer.

Review: On 8/25/2015 I purchased a Certified Car Port and purchased mobile home anchors from Newmart Builders. The Car Port was installed on 10/28/2015. With my purchase I received a receipt that shows the Car Port to withstand winds up to 130 mph. On the evening of 4/2/2016, our area was subject to a wind storm that produced winds up to 60 mph. On the morning of 4/3/2016, at approximately 830am, I looked into my back yard and the Car Port had been pulled out of the ground and was upright in my neighbor's tree and on my fence. I had a trailer that was parked underneath the Car Port and that sustained damage as well. I went out and moved the trailer as the Car Port was in an unpredictable state being upright in the tree. Subsequently, some time later, the Car Port was blown off the tree onto it's roof into our yard. The Car Port was damaged with dents and twisted roofing in addition to bent rebar that was still attached to the bottom rails. On 4/4/2016, I called Newmart and talked to Mark E[redacted]. I explained what had occurred and that my fence, trailer and Car Port in addition to 1 section of my neighbor's fence had been badly damaged. In discussing the situation with Mark, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the product as it should have been able to sustain 130 mph. In addition, I explained that I had purchased additional anchoring for enhanced strength and support. Mark requested that I email him pictures of all the damage. I did so and later that day, I called Mark to make sure that he received my email. He had received it and stated that he did not see the mobile home anchors and it appeared it had not been properly installed. At this time, Mark stated he would speak to his boss and get back to me. I have heard nothing and I sent another email on 4/5/2016 at 1:45 pm to follow up and have not heard back since.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a full refund for the product and installation of the Car Port in addition to the cost of damage sustained to my trailer, fence and neighbor's fence. I understand the company does not warranty the product due to Act of God, however, it was not a Act of God that caused the improper installation with lack of anchoring needed not to mention, paid for at the time of purchase. Had this product been properly installed, this situation would not have occurred.

Business

Response:

Newmart Builders, Inc is the manufacturer. It is the customers responsibility to obtain a permit prior to the building being erected, and having it inspected after is has been installed. The building was not inspected after it was installed, or the absence of mobile home anchors would have been detected.Newmart Builders, Inc is not responsible for Acts of God such as wind, as stated in the disclaimer on the order form. The customer also altered the building by lag bolting wood to the legs of the structure and attaching plastic around the outside of three sides of the building. Newmart does not recommend three sided buildings, due to potential wind damage. Newmart does not accept any liability of damage associated with wind. Newmart did offer to refund the price of the mobile home anchors and prepare an insurance quote for the customer, which was copasetic during the initial conversation.

Business

Response:

In response to further clarification, it is standard practice in the metal building industry for the customers to obtain their permit. A property owner in ANY state is able to apply for and obtain a permit for work to be done on their property. It is also the property owners responsibility to check on covenants, restrictions, and home owners association rules. The customer is also responsible for checking with Ms Utility to make sure any underground lines and obstacles are clearly marked. As clearly stated on the signed order form, the customer is the contractor. Because we sell buildings up and down the east coast, it would be impossible to obtain a permit for each customer. In New Jersey, according to Uniform Construction Code, for us to have obtained a permit, we would have needed an affidavit from the owner that would grant us authorization, and empower us to pull the permit. Once issued, the permit becomes property of the homeowner, regardless who initially pulled the permit. A property owner can do his or her own work as long as a contractor is involved for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lead hazard abatement or demolition. So, if the customer is the contractor, and applies for the permit, they would be able to install a carport. We would be a sub-contractor for that customer. As far as the building being blown over, it is our opinion that if it weren’t for the customer altering the building, it would still be standing, whether or not the mobile home anchors were installed. Because the building was altered, any certification would have been void. The customer at no time called in to inquire about adding to the building, or to see if there would by any adverse effects for doing so. Since the customer did pay for the anchors that they did not receive, we are refunding the purchase price for them.

[As expected, the company still wants to push the blame on the customer and take no responsibility for the issue at hand....no modifications were made to the structure only plastic sheeting was placed on the sides of the unit to keep rain out which would have been no different if they would have closed the sides in will aluminum sheeting. and at no time was I told that I would have to obtain a permit before the unit was installed, if I had been told I would have obtained one...So as to the refund of $150.00 when should I expect it. It should have already been refunded, since I paid for the item and it was never received, also I want the refund credited back to me in the form of a business check..... ]

Regards,

Timely delivery, and installation. Installers were local, courteous, and did a good job. The only negative thing I have to say is, there were several loose screws left lying around, which could have possibly punctured a car tire, or lawn mower tire. Quality, and any issues are still to be determined, since our carport is brand new.

Review: I purchased a carport from this company. They installed it but didn't finish a proper installation. The entire left side of the roof was not bolted down and rattled when it was windy. I called for two weeks and finally received a call back telling me they would correct the issue in a day or two. A month has since gone by with me phoning every day and I finally had to have someone else complete the job so there wouldn't be more damage. As soon as they received my money, I couldn't contact them again. Terrible service and installation.Desired Settlement: No outcome desired since I had the problem fixed by another contractor

Response:

We do apologize for your inconvenience. We have made changes at the lot in Pennsylvania to address issues and concerns of our customers.

Just had a 30'x20' garage installed on 8-17-16 by Newmart Builders, and I am super happy with it. The ordering process was easy and worry free. There were plenty of options to fit my needs and it came out great. I've heard a lot of horror stories from other people's experience with other companies, but Newmart was top notch from start to finish, and the install team led by Joe done a top notch job. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a metal building or carport.

Review: purchased a building from this company and had it installed by installers on 5/10/2013 the building collapsed when my husband was trying to take snow off of the roof company is trying to make me put it on my home owners insurance instead of taking responsibility of a building that is only 9 months old that cost $6,277.00 I think this is not good business what do I do about this matter and how can you help with this.Desired Settlement: refund of money, do not think another one of there products will last since this is only 9 months old and is collapsed have other buildings on my property of same nature that are many years old and are still standing.

RE: [redacted]
Newmart Builders Inc is a manufacturer of steel buildings. The [redacted] carport division in ** actually installed the building in question. During the time of the building collapse [redacted] and the entire East Coast experienced extreme snow and ice accumulation. As stated on the order form signed by [redacted] on April 18, 2013; We are not responsible for Acts of God (such as flooding, wind, ice, snow, hail, lightning, earthquakes). It is also stated that heavier snow loads are available upon request. This option was not chosen and the customer elected to purchase the standard building.
We are sympathetic to the property loss. We have offered and we will provide the proper insurance quote upon request.

Sincerely;

Business

Response:

After speaking with the business he states that he is the manufacture of the structure and the parts are shipped to [redacted] to be built. The anchors and the braces were purchased, but the customer signed off on the building before the builders left the project. The business can’t be paid until the work is signed off on as completed. New Mart is not the business that put the structure together, and if something was not attached at the time of the building the customer may want to ask the individual’s that put the structure together about that aspect of the problem.

Regards,

Attached You will find the receipt for the building (that is clearer) and an email address of the dealer[redacted] he has stated to me yesterday that my husband had purchased the braces and anchors that certified the building and nothing else was available on this order form as you will see, as in letter from Newmart Builders that I am attaching also they state was? notice on bottom of receipt the extra $650 is for extra bracing the dealer ([redacted]) also will tell you the installers for this company phone [redacted] did not anchor out building down they said they could not after it was build and left the anchors for my husband to install himself! which he did at his own cost what kind of business does this?

I can see why they are not accredited by Revdex.com

Put a deposit down for a structure and when the installers came to construct they had brought the wrong lumber and tried to get us to give them $200 under the table to fix it for us. Whe we tried to get out deposit back from [redacted] in providence forge her said no. Called [redacted] and they said no. Stay away from this company

Review: On November 17. 2014, I purchased a 18x26 carport through Things Outdoor, Inc. The carport was ordered with 7ft legs with having both sides closed in. We were told that the carport would take 5 to 6 weeks to be delivered and installed. Our sole purpose for the purchase of the carport was to have something covering our boat during the winter months. We expected to have our carport withing 5 to 6 weeks after ordering it on November 17, 2014. We called in several times to the dealer to check the status of the carport installation. We finally received a call stating the carport would be installed on January 10, 2015. January 10th came along and we received a call that they were going to have to delay installation of the carport because of the weather. They told us they would be out on Saturday January 17, 2015. On Friday January 16th, 3 installers for NewMart Builders showed up to look at our backyard where the carport was to be installed. They said everything looked great and they would see us early Saturday morning. On Saturday January 17th, we waited and waited for the company to come out and install our carport. They finally showed up around 2pm (so much for stating they were coming out early in the morning). After they put up the framing of the carport, one of the installers came up to us and said I hate to say this but we do not have enough pieces to do your roof and sides. We got so mad. The installers could not give us an answer of when they would be back to finish the installation of our carport. I have called in several times to speak to an manager. The representative that answers the phone takes the message and I never get a call back. I am very frustrated with the customer service of this company. We have been told by one of the installers that would be out Monday January 26, 2015 to finish installation of the carport but then we receive a call stating that will not be coming due to the weather. I was told they would be out Tuesday January 27, 2015 to finish installation and they call with another excuse not to come out. We received that they will be out Monday February 2, 2015 to finish installation but then receive a call on Sunday February 1, 2015 that they have to move the installation date to Tuesday February 3rd because of the weather. The weather forecast changed and we only received a little bit of rain Sunday night. So, as of February 2, 2015, we only have the framing of the carport.Desired Settlement: We have asked several times to be compensated for our troubles of not having the carport when it was supposed to be delivered. The company will only give us $100 off the purchase. We don't appreciate the company not being responsible with our demand of speaking to a manager and not returning calls. We would like to get our deposit back from the company and have the company come get the framing of the carport out of our yard unless the company is willing to compensate us for our troubles.

Business

Response:

When our installer arrived at [redacted] location to install the building, he informed him that he did in fact get the deposit refunded from the dealer, so we removed the frame that was there, and consider the matter closed.

Review: We purchased a carport/combo building from New mart Builders on 11/1/14. The installers arrived at 1:30 pm with the building on 12/31/14. They were scheduled to arrive between 8 am and 10 am no one called to let me know they were running late. I had to call the company myself. There were 3 men and 2 young ladies. The 3 men were the installers. I do not know why the 2 young ladies were with them. They were not professional. They were disorganized, used foul language and were argumentative. They worked until 3:00 pm and then said they had to leave to do some work at another location 30 miles away and would be back at noon on January 1st, 2015. They left all of their equipment and their trailer in our backyard. They arrived late again at 1:30 pm. They did not finish installing the carport until 6:30 pm and of course by this time it was dark. When they backed their truck up to hook up their trailer they destroyed our landscape timbers that line our driveway on both sides. They also left a mess pieces of metal, screws, bolts all in our driveway. I called New mart Builders and let me know them what had happened. At first they told me they knew about the problem and the installers had been fired. Then they tried to tell me they were sorry but since the installers were terminated they could not cover our damages. I explained to them that I did not hire this incompetent crew they did. I hired New mart Builders and they were responsible for the damage the installation crew did to my property. I emailed them and sent them pictures of the damage. They told me they would send me a check for the damages and that was over 2 weeks ago. I have not heard from them and doubt I will. I am very disappointed in this company. They have excellent reviews and I thought they would provide a satisfactory service but I was wrong.Desired Settlement: We want to be reimbursed for the damage the was done to our driveway. We have had to purchase new landscape timbers and rebar. Remove what was left of the old landscape timbers and install the new landscape timbers. We want to be reimbursed for the supplies and our time to correct the problem and restore our property to its previous state before their installation crew arrived.

Business

Response:

We did install the building for [redacted] on 1/1/15. We were contacted about the landscape timbers that were damaged on the side of the driveway. Mrs [redacted] sent in photos of the materials that were damaged. Our contract does read that "We are entering your property at your request. Therefore, we can not be held responsible for any damages that may occur to your property". With that being said, Mrs [redacted] did call in and speak with the Scheduling Manager, and he did agree to split the difference in what she was asking for in compensation. He felt it was a more than acceptable compromise, since the timbers appeared to be quite old with signs of dry rot. We were told that was unacceptable, and we hadn't heard from them since that time. We did try and reach a resolution to this complaint prior to it reaching the Revdex.com

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]Their is no action proposed in New Mart Builders response to my complaint ID [redacted]. I called the installation manager at New mart Builders on 1/2/15 the day after my building was installed and left him a message he never returned my call. I called back on 1/5/15 and spoke with the installation manager. He apologized for the installers and told me he had received numerous complaints from other customers and knew all about their inappropriate behavior (arriving late for appointments, cursing, drinking, women in the truck with them on the job site, arguing ) all of this resulted in delay's with the installation of the building. He also told me they were arrested at a [redacted] after they left my house on 1/1/15. He told me the installer was terminated and normally when a customer has property damages they are taken out of the installers check however, in my case they could not do this because the installer had already been paid and no longer worked for them. I told the installation manager this was unacceptable. I did not hire these incompetent installers New Mart Builders did. I hired New Mart Builders to install my carport/combo and I already have two other carports on my property and have never experienced such unprofessional behavior by installers. He finally told me to send him pictures of the damages and he would review them and get back in touch with me. I emailed the pictures of the damages along with a very conservative amount to repair the damages. The installation manager never responded to my email. I called him back on 1/13/15 and the first time he came to the phone and hung up on me. I called right back and talked to him this time. He told me he had reviewed the photos and agreed to pay me a lesser amount and ask me if I would accept it. I told him no. My estimate was very conservative. I did not include any damages to my yard only the driveway. He told me he would get a check issued to me that week for the amount I requested and I should receive it the following week which was 1/19/15. He also told me this money would be deducted from the installers last check which is strange because on 1/5/15 he told me they had already been paid and terminated. Of course, no check was mailed and by this time I am starting to see how New Mart Builders operates. They keep ignoring their customers hoping the complaints will just disappear. I understand what is written in the contract I signed. I honored the contract by paying for my carport in full. I could have put a stop payment on the check and deducted my damages up front but I'm not that type of person. I honor my commitments unlike New Mart Builders. The damages caused by these installers were due to negligence. This was not normal behavior for installers. I have a 14 foot wide drive way and they could not back out a pick-up truck and trailer without going all in the yard on both sides of the driveway? The only way this claim will be resolved is for me to receive a check for the damages I incurred.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]The company is telling a lie. They never offered me $100.00 the installation manager offered me $150.00 and I would not accept it. Then after I explained all the work involved in removing the damaged landscape timbers and replacing with the new ones. He told me he would send me the $200.00. I have never seen a cent. I do not believe anything this company says because everything they have told me regarding this installation and the unprofessional installers has been a lie. The $200.00 in damages I requested is a fair settlement for the damages.

Review: I purchased a double car-port in June 2014. The carport roof top has some bowed areas that are not allowing the water to drain off the top. I contacted the company numerous times and they sent a team out to look at the carport. They said they needed reschdule another time because they needed new support legs to fix the problem. They also took pictures as I had already did to take back to the business. I am in the military and gone a lot. I have called them and called them and just get no where with this company. I am frustrated and can't believe they would even call this junk a finished product. I call and they put me on hold and then come on the line and say the y schdele person is not in the office today and they will call me back tommorow. Those days have not happened and they are just blowing me off. I even sent them pictures of the areas that are bowed. They had a file on me at the time and acknowledged they were going to correct the issue.Desired Settlement: I would like a new carport delivered and installed by professionals that care and without pieces that are bowed and not factory inspected. I payed over 1200.00 dollars for this carport and got a lemon and these installers knew this is not the proper way to do business.

Regards,

The customer contacted Revdex.com. They business did not come out on the day scheduled, this is an issue for the customer because he was not there when they came to over see the work done. The roof is still not correct and all the business did not raise the legs. At this time the customer wants a replacement car port, he purchased a new product and received a defective item the business has been unable to correct.

Business

Response:

[redacted], We did go out to Mr [redacted] home to address his problems. We raised the legs, and adjusted the gable. The customer has a gravel pad for his building, but the baserails are actually sitting on the sandy ground on the outside of the gravel base. The building is also sitting on blocks in the back on one side of the baserail. We do this when the pad is not level. Because the buildings base is not on solid ground, Mr [redacted] will have continued problems with his building sinking. I am attaching pictures of the building. As you can see, we did raise the legs, the roof line is straight, and the block is clearly sinking into the ground on the end of his building.

Regards,

The business did come out but because they did not come out at a scheduled time the customer was not able to have the issues addressed correctly. The defects are not being fixed and at this time a senior manger needs to schedule an appointment with the customer and replace the car port because at this time the issue have not been fixed. The customer purchased a car port and was not provided a working product.

Review: On 9/24/15 we had installed a 3 car carport (including hurricane proof anchors installed). The price tag totaled $2830. On January 23rd at 1245 a.m. (a winter storm was just beginning). My husband noticed the carport leaning. He removed all vehicles (except our restored [redacted]). Within minutes, the carport collapsed, crushing our jeep. There was only about 1-2 inches of snow on top. At 8 a.m. I took photos to document the damage.

The original paperwork states that this carport is certified to > 130 mph winds and 30 lb/sq. ft snow load. The pictures we submitted to Newmart clearly demonstrated this capacity was never achieved during this particular snow storm.

On January 28, 2016, I contacted Shawn Chapman at Newmart (434) 447- 2693. My husband later submitted photos to [email protected]. Later Karl E[redacted]0 arrived at our home to assess. They refused any compensation for damages to the carport or our vehicle.

As the carport was being dismantled ( to reduce further damage to the jeep), you can clearly see that the collapse occurred at a connection towards the top of the structure and was clearly poorly installed.Desired Settlement: We would like a refund of the $2830 spent on the carport and payoff of repairs to the 1989 damaged by the carport.

Business

Response:

Newmart Builders, Inc does indeed acknowledge that Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] did call into report their building had collapsed in the snow storm. The initial call was made on 1/25/16 to report the damage. They were informed that we do not cover Acts of God, but we would supply an insurance quote for them to turn into their company. Mrs. [redacted] called in again on 1/28/16 and stated that the reason the building came down was due to improper installation. Mrs. [redacted] also stated they didn't receive very much snow in the storm, and the damage occurred within 45 minutes of the initial weather event. Newmart requested she send in pictures of the damage. Mrs. [redacted] stated she took the photographs the next morning at 8 AM. The pictures received were not taken at 8 AM the morning of 1/23/16, as there was already extensive snow melt, and clear skies. The pictures also showed where snow had been plowed off the driveway, and left in big piles along the edges. Newmart sent a representative out to the customers residence to look at the damage. The building was in the process of being dismantled. Upon inspection of the framing, pictures were taken of the exposed bows. The building came down due to excessive weight on the roof, which bent the tubing, which is an Act of God. It was also unclear if the massive dent on the side and across the roof was caused by a tree limb falling onto the building, which would also be an Act of God . The only warranty on the building is a 20 year limited warranty for rust through on the framing assuming normal user care and maintenance, stated on the order. The certification of the building is not a guarantee, and snow is an act of God. Mr. [redacted] called in on 2/5/16 to see if there was a resolution of the collapsed carport, and was once again told we do not cover Acts of God . He stated he was going to pursue the avenue of taking Newmart to court. According to the National Weather Service, snow totals in the areas around Barboursville, VA were 15 to 30 inches. Charlottesville, VA recorded 15.5 inches of snowfall, Ruckersville, VA recorded 18 inches of snowfall, Earleysville, VA recorded 30 inches of snowfall, and 20.5 inches of recorded snowfall in Crozet. There were also reported roof collapses in Charlottesville, VA on area buildings and barns due to the nearly 20 inches of snow from the storm. We will supply an insurance quote, but we will not replace the building, nor pay for the damage done to their vehicle, as we are not responsible for Acts of God. Certified Buildings meet 130 mph winds and 30lb snow load. Higher wind and snow loads are available by special quote. I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. Review: On 10/23/15 I contracted with Newmart Builders Inc thru The [redacted] for a carport & paid $100 deposit. Newmart called Nov & gave 12/17/15 as the date & I scheduled to be home.

On 12/16 the installer called saying he couldn’t do & it would be the following day 12/18. I told him I was working & he said he’d try to work something out. He later called me to say he was still unable to do the work & if I was not available 12/18 he’d have to reschedule it for the New Year. He then told me he’d try again to work something out and would call me the next day. I then made arrangements to take off work 12/18 to accommodate the build & tried to call the contractor but got no answer and sent a text to tell him.

On 12/17 the contractor called to say he couldn’t do the job on 12/18 either & it would have to be rescheduled for the New Year. As he couldn’t say when it might be I told him I’d have to cancel the contract & he said he’d try to fix it and would call me back. He later called to say he still couldn’t do it. I then called Mr.Weisman to ask for my deposit back, but he told me he’d call Newmart. I then received a call from a Newmart (Josh) who said he’d been told I wouldn’t be available the next day. I explained I’d said I’d make arrangements to be available if the work could be done. Josh said he’d call the contractor & get back to me. When no one did I called Newmart & it was closed.

On 12/18 I called again & spoke to Josh who said it was very unlikely the job would be done. I told him I wanted to cancel & asked about my deposit, which he said I’d have to speak with Jonathan about. When I did, he called Josh who claimed he told me there was a “very good chance” the job would be done but he couldn’t guarantee it. He also claimed he’d said he’d reschedule it for the 1st week in Jan & I’d refused. Neither statement is true. As Jonathan said there was still time for the contractor to come that day I agreed to wait but have had no contact since.

It is now 12/19.Desired Settlement: Due to lack of communication and false statements made by Newmart I have no faith that this job will be completed & request a refund of my deposit, but so far have been given the runaround from Newmart and their agent Mr.[redacted]

I have spoken to a representative from Numart Builders in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and he offered a discount of $100.00 and that they will return the week of January 11th to conduct the work. I have accepted this offer with the provision that the work be

conducted on 1/14 or 1/15/16, which was agreed upon.

I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. If the company does not perform as promised I can get back to you at: [redacted]

Review: I purchased a garage building in December 2015. It was not installed until February 2016. The installers put the roofing

on horizontally instead of vertically. When we mentioned it to the installers they refused to put them on the right way and told us to contact their office to have them reschedule. After contacting the company we explained to the managers that we could not complete our project until they repaired the roofing. We were told that they would not come back out until they had more business in this area. Our project has been on hold for almost 4 months because of Newmart Builders.Desired Settlement: I want the roofing shingles that we ordered put on correctly.

Newmart Builders, Inc left a message on both phone numbers available for the customer today 3/21/16 around 3 PM stating we would be out next week to install the sheeting. Our scheduling department will call by the end of this week with a day and a time for the install.

Review: I purchased a [redacted] carport from NewMart Builders on 10/10/13. It was installed in November 2013. When it was installed, the braces that were supposed to be installed with it were not there. I have now been trying for SIX MONTHS to get this lousy business to provide the supports that I was told came with the carport when I purchased it. I have called repeatedly. No one (including the owner) ever returns a phone call. I would not purchase anything from this company again. They are dishonest, disorganized and unresponsive. I want the support for the carport like I purchased!Desired Settlement: I would very much like for someone to call me and tell me that they have the supports for my carport. Then I would like for them to actually deliver them.

Business

Response:

We have reviewed [redacted] order. She did not purchase braces. They are not listed anywhere on the order she signed. In the interest of customer service our scheduling manager agreed to put 9 standard braces on at no charge. There is an order in her name in our system. Our scheduling department will call her when we have work in her area. Again she did not purchase the braces she refers to in her complaint. We are going to give them to her at no charge. She will have to wait until we have scheduled work in her area.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

1. They have promised for SIX MONTHs that they would bring them to my house "next time they had business in the area". So....they will NEVER show up.

2. The building I purchased had the braces on the model building. I was told mine would be EXACTLY like that one. It is not. I specifically ask if the braces come with the building and I was told yes so I purchased the building.

This is absolutely crazy that they are treating customers this way

We do not provide these free. They would have been put on if they were listed on the order., As stated before we will put the braces on at no charge when we are in the area again. Review: I ordered a carport on Nov 1, 2014. I was planning on using it to store hay for the winter. I was told it would be delivered in 6 weeks. After 6 weeks went by without a phone call from the company, I called. They said with the holidays it would be later and that someone would call the week of New Years Eve to set up an appointment for delivery. No one called. I called week of Jan 5 and got a date for delivery of Fri Jan 16. I called two days before delivery to confirm our address with company. They told me the date for delivery had been moved to Sat Jan 17. They moved the date without contacting me or confirming I would be home. I had already taken off work for the 16th. We were home on Sat Jan 17 during the time of delivery. NO ONE showed up with our carport and we did not get a phone call canceling the delivery. We called company and got a few more dates that were canceled due to bad weather. On Tues Feb 3 the carport was delivered. The installers installed the tin incorrectly and sloppy. The way the tin is installed it leaks. The screws are over tightened causing dents everywhere there is a screw. The rubber washers are squeezing out from under the metal washers and splitting. The tin is scratched down to bare metal in some places. The installers left tin scraps, screws and cigarette butts all over the yard. I called company on Feb 4 and complained. [redacted] promised new tin and a written agreement to be sent. I have not received either. I called the company and asked for the owner's name and was hung up on four times. It is now 16 weeks after we ordered it. And I still can't use it. This company has cost me time off work and money. Instead of hauling all my hay for the winter at one time I have had to make SEVERAL trips with smaller amounts of hay because my carport that should have been here before Christmas still is not ready. I cannot store hay with a roof that leaks!!Desired Settlement: I would like $618.17 as a refund. This is the price for me to go to my local [redacted] and purchase the tin, ridge cap, corner gable and screws to fix the carport. I will be installing the tin myself. I do not want to deal with this company any longer or take a day off work to wait for the tin to be delivered and they don't show again!! Nor do I want more scratched tin on my carport!!

Response:

We did encur weather delays for the install of Mr [redacted]s building. For his inconveinience, we did give him $200 off the price of his vertical roof, and a $100 discount off his building. We did end up giving him an additional $100 disocunt at the completion of install. We did agree to replace his roof sheets when we went back to his area. We will gladly honor that agreement, and replace his roof sheets with our crew, or, remove the sheets, and leave new sheets and screws for Mr [redacted] to install. We will not however leave the damaged sheets, nor will we agree to refund any money. We feel we have tried to accomodate the customer both monetarily with discounts, and given means to solve the issue of damaged sheeting.

Regards,

Our carport should have been installed before Christmas. Our area had NO snow until after the first of the year. The weather did not become a problem until after the carport was already late. The price for the vertical roof was an upgrade we purchased 3 days after ordering the carport, before we had any issues with the company. We were told the $200 off the vertical roof was a new price for the roof so this had nothing to do with our inconvenience. We did receive $100 off after we had waited 11 weeks with no phone calls from the company. And we received another $100 off after the workers did not show up on the date and time they had confirmed with us, again with no phone call. So the company did take $200 off the purchase. However it is now 17 weeks since we ordered the carport and we still cannot use it. I did make a verbal agreement to have the tin replaced when they “where in our area again”. Actually what he said was “I will not make a special trip to your area just to deliver the tin.” I asked for a written agreement on Feb. 5th. I called back after a week and asked for a written agreement again. [redacted] said he would send one out in the mail on Feb 12. We have yet to receive it. [redacted] also promised the new tin the week of Feb 23. No one from the company has called to sced a drop off of this tin. Today is the 27th of Feb. It is now 17 weeks since we ordered the carport. We contacted the dealer who sold us the carport. He has tried to contact the company and they are not returning his phone calls. I do not even want them delivering tin to my house because I would have to take another day off work to be here. I have taken two days of work and wasted a Sat waiting on this company. I can not miss anymore time off work nor should I have too. Plus, the tin they did install was badly scratched, so how do we know the new tin they deliver won’t be in the same condition. All I am asking for is $618.17 to purchase the materials needed to fix the carport correctly from a local company. I am not even asking for all my money back just the price to cover the new supplies. The company can’t even send a document in the mail. How can we trust they will deliver the tin when the date for delivery has come and gone and we still don’t have it. I can’t rely on this company to do what they say. We have given them plenty of opportunities to make this right and they still have not. They have not accommodated us. The money they gave us off the building doesn’t even cover one day off work. They are the ones that installed the carport wrong, why should we be inconvenienced anymore. They haven’t even called us since the tin was installed incorrectly!

When I ordered the building I was told it would take six to eight weeks to be built. I figure eight to ten. The building was up eight weeks and one day after I ordered it. Very pleased with that.
The building would have been built earlier but I had a death in the family. I had to go out of town. Newmart Builders worked with me and the building was up less than five days after I returned.
The building itself is very well built. The material are of high quality.
The crew that assembled the building ensured the work was done right. Very hard workers. The first day lasted ten hours and these guys didn't stop. I was getting tired watching them.
