Review: I contracted Newmart Builders Inc. to install a metal garage building on my proprety. I had two garage doors installed on the building as part of the contract. The building is still under warranty, I called to have 1 of the garage doors repaired, a bolt or spring broke or came loose on the door and I can't get it to open. I called and was promised a repair within a week or two. I waited for a scheduling call, no call. I called again, was told they were trying to locate a crew in my area, and they would call and re-schedule. No call came, I called again, female told me that they were coming out on wednesday to repair door. Wendsday came no call no show. I called again, same woman told me they would come out Tuesday of the following week, I told her I would be out of town. She said I did not need to be there for the crew to fix the door. Next week, no show no call. I called again, same woman said she is trying to get the same installer team to repair the work because their installers did not like to fix other installers problems, but she would call me the next day. No call. I called the following week, told them I need my door fixed, I can't get my boat out for use and you have had ample time to honor your contract. They told me they would schedule it for the following week, and that they would call to schedule repair. No call. I called again as recently as yesterday (5/23/2013) and asked to speak with the manager, a man told me he ([redacted]) was in a meeting and he ([redacted]) would call me back in an hour. No call. I called again today (5/24/2013) and asked for [redacted], was told [redacted] is out of town until Tuesday 5/28/2013) and that [redacted] had told him that he had something in the works. I asked why no call, he said I guess he ([redacted]) got busy or forgot. I told them repeatedly in the later calls that I have been waiting well over 2 months for this repair, now it's a 3 day holiday weekend and I can't get my boat out of my garage. He said sorry, but [redacted] handles all this stuff...Desired Settlement: Have my door replaced immediately

I purchased carport through a very reliable retailer Sept 2014. I was told construction would be done in 4-5 weeks which was done. However, the crew said they had one other job in area they were working on and would need to leave for a while which I was ok with. I was told the driveway was slightly off. I told them I had landscaping bricks they could use. Was told that would not work. Offered to go Lowes 2 mi. away to get what they needed. Was told they could not wait and could level some. I told them I was ok if off a few inches. During construction crew cursed a lot (not to me) which I did not appreciate. After job done I assumed they leveled per out agreement. A few days later, I noticed carport had a bad lean to left. I made at least five calls and GM was never available. Frustrated, I told the person I wanted to speak to him NOW. Which he did. I Explained the situation and GM agreed someone would be out to look at carport. Week later--Never happened! Called several more times. GM or construction manager never there. Sent GM a letter month later recapping our conversation and requested a response. Nothing! Talked with retailer whom I purchased. He made a call and called me back. He spoke to their district manager and assured him/me I would receive a call in a week. Never happened. I feel this company has poor customer service ethics. Has been three months now. I would not recommend using this company. Makes me wonder why they are not Revdex.com Accredited.

Review: I purchased a carport/garage on May 15, 2013 from Newmart Builders Inc. They set it up about 3 weeks from the purchase date. That day, I came home from work to a very unleveled carport leaning into my house. [redacted], the installer, said he would come back and put the garage door on and he would level it. About 3 weeks later, with multiple unreturned phone calls, they finally sent out [redacted], a different installer to level the carport and hang the garage door. [redacted] looked at the carport and said he would have informed us not to put it where its standing because with the ground so unleveled, putting a garage door on would never work. The first installer never said a word that it wouldnt work. At this point they couldnt finish the garage and took the door back. I have been trying to get this resolved since June 20, 2013. I had a builder come look at the carport and was told that theres no way of fixing it and that it will always lean into my house an be unleveled. Now I feel a full refund is the only thing that can be done. I also called and left a message for [redacted], the owner with yet again, no returned phone call. I have talked to [redacted], the manager, about this matter and after speaking to [redacted], he has also agreed that theres no way of fixing it. Im very disappointed that this company just puts up these buildings and doesnt care at all whether theyre functional, the fact that their work is irreparable or how their buildings look (especially sitting next to a homeowners house). [redacted]Desired Settlement: At this point there's no fixing the building so I feel a full refund is fair.

RE: [redacted]

We assembled a carport at [redacted] request in May of 2013. At the end of the assembly she signed the contractors agreement saying she was satisfied with the work. Sometime later she called to say she did not like the look of the brick used to level the carport. She also ordered an add on to enclose the building at this time. We agreed to use her style of bricks to level in the attempt to satisfy her. Understand, we state that the lot must be level for proper installation. Her lot was not level. We do not do site work and it is stated on the order she signed. At considerable expense we went back to change the brick used to level the unit. After the contractor leveled the unit she said she didn't like that either and to put it back the way it was. Which again at our expense we did as requested. She called our office once again saying she did not like it and wanted something done about it. We offered to disassemble and reassemble on a different LEVEL location. She did not like that either. We performed the job she contracted for. I have attached documentation showing both the finished product at the initial installation. It depicts our efforts to work with a very unlevel area. Leveling the land was not part of the contracted order. Even so, we have made every attempt to satisfy the customer. Our offer is to move the building to a level site on her property.

Regards,

I most certainly did not sign any contract; however, when the first installer finished the carport/garage, my husband signed that he had finished the job. He was under the impression per the first installer, [redacted], that he would come back out and level the carport and install the garage door. I called the very next day, not some time later, to order a garage door and brought it to [redacted] attention that it was terribly unleveled. At that point he sent out [redacted], the second installer, to install the door an get it level. [redacted] came out an immediately said the garage door will never work and it would be impossible to fix. So in response of coming out and fixing their mess, yes the company came out to fix it and to install the garage door. It was at no “considerable expense” to them. They were making $[redacted] off the job. It’s not my fault they couldn’t get it right and get the garage door on the carport. I have pictures of what it looks like, show how bad it’s leaning into my house AND the fact that they used MY landscaping bricks to finish the job (as would be the reason I was not happy with their attempt to level it with bricks). I did have a builder come out and look at it to see what could be done. His advice was to take it down, but that it would be too costly to fix it properly. We absolutely do not have any more land that this will work on so the offer of moving it isn’t going to work.

Review: I bought a vertical metal garage to be put on my property from[redacted] and gave them $1000.00 deposit. when Newmart Builders came with the garage, they said they could not put it on the spot we wanted it but they would take it back and trade it for a horizontal garage. We decided not to change and cancelled the order. [redacted] gave us there part of the $1000.00 as a refund($400.20). When I called Newmart Builders, they said they would not refund there part of the deposit because it was scratched and they could no resell it, yet they were willing to take it back on trade for one we did not want. They seem to be able to sell it then. I would not mind if they charged a small restock fee, or give a little money to the nice men that came to set it up.Desired Settlement: Balance of the $1000.00 they owe $599.80

This was covered with her before installation and she signed for approval as the attached test to. We will go back at our expense to make the changes at the charge stated. She signed the agreement after installation. I have [redacted] the agreement.

She also signed after installation stating she was satisfied with the end result. We installed the building as exactly as ordered and written.

Review: I contracted with Newmart Builders Inc. based in [redacted] to provide and install one 20' x 21' metal posted double carport. What I received was inarguably the most inept installation I have ever saw or witnessed. I have been in the construction and mechanical trades for 46 years so I know what I got was a terrible installation. It is out of level, out of square and out of plumb. When I asked them to level it I was told "that wasn't in the original price and would cost $150.00 extra". The anchor bolts weren't tightened down and the metal trim looks absurd. Almost a dozen screws that secure the metal roof to the arch spans missed entirely and I'm more than certain this will be a leak issue in the future. My 11 year old grand daughter could have done a better job installing the trim. The installing crew consisted of three of the foulest mouthed most inappropriately dressed young men I have ever been around. Cursing and dropping more "F" bombs than I've heard in awhile. When asked to watch their language I was almost totally ignored. One of the young men had on a pair of shorts that did very little to cover his butt. When we ordered this carport two of the big selling points would be the wait time for the install was only two weeks as opposed to six for everywhere else and it was "American workers using American steel". What we got was an almost to the day nine weeks wait and most certainly "American workers" based on their looks and language. I am so disgusted with the overall lack of quality of the installation we received I almost wish a wind storm or hail storm would take it out of my driveway so I could start over and get what I paid for. About 10 years ago I purchased a single carport to keep my tractor under and it was installed by Hispanic workers. Trust me when I write this I'd take them 1000 to 1 over what I got out of these young men.Desired Settlement: I'm not getting my hopes up as I don't see this company doing anything about it.

We are in contact with [redacted]. We are sending a crew out to his location. Our installation department will contact [redacted] today (9/8/14) . We will be reprimanding the sub contractor whose work and behavior do not represent the culture and values of Newmart Builders Inc. We apologize sincerely to the [redacted] Family.

Our Newmart carport was constructed a few years ago. They sent three teenagers to put it together. The first day, my husband found 36 rivet bolts and a flat, new tire on his car. When he called he was told to go buy a magnet and pick them up! He never could resolve that issue. Now, the roof is leaking on our cars when it rains; leaving acid like spots and ruining the paint. We went to have a tire checked last week and the owner of the shop said, "I can see you have one of those [redacted] sheds from the spots!" We have been calling for months and were told they would call back. Of course, they never did.
