Newport Lexus Reviews (32)

Customer authorized the work to be done, after the work was completed he wanted an even bigger discount than he agreed to. After we denied the bigger discount he went on [redacted] and other sites giving us bad reviews. Customer then sent a letter to Ownership saying if he received a check for $1,000 he...

would take down his negative post. Newport Lexus did nothing wrong.

Newport Lexus sold this vehicle AS-IS.  We are not responsible to fix the hole in the center counsel, this vehicle was sold AS-IS.  Newport Lexus did not install aftermarket brakes, when we inspected the vehicle the brakes that were already on the vehicle measured at 11mm on both the front...

and rear which are like brand new brakes, all we did was inspect the brakes we did not install. We did agree to reimburse the customer for having the vehicle smogged, the cost was $39.00 and Newport Lexus did reimburse the customer.  We did not deliver the vehicle for a few days because we had to inspect the vehicle to make sure it was safe, and we had the vehicle detailed to make it look nice for the customer even though it was an AS-IS car. Once the vehicle was ready we delivered it to their home all the way in San Diego which is about 90 miles away from Newport Lexus.  As far as XM radio, the free trial period only applies on Certified vehicles. Again we sold this car AS-IS which means the customer did not qualify for their free trail and that’s why our associate did not mention it to them.   [redacted]

Newport Lexus talked with customer and decided to reimburse him the $1,000. Check was issued Friday November 10th, 2017. Newport Lexus did not lie about anything, there was some gray area on a few items so we decided to agree to our customer demands. Newport Lexus considers this matter closed.

Newport Lexus did not install the brakes, we offered to have our Certified Mechanic inspect the brakes for him to make sure his car was safe. The customer was extremely rude to our employees and wanted nothing but his money back. Newport Lexus did nothing wrong, our offer to have his brakes...

inspected still stands but that is it.

The customer has contacted General Manager [redacted] and alleged the Lease Transaction agreement was forged. This is untrue and the signature on the form matches all signatures on other documents. We consider the matter closed.

Review: On 1/21/2015: I took my car to my regular mechanic ([redacted], Corona CA) to have an oil change and tire rotation done. When I picked up my vehicle after it was serviced, my mechanic informed me that the rear struts were worn out/leaking and needed to be replaced because they were causing damage to the rear tires (the tires are cupped across the tread). The mechanic recommended that I go back to the Lexus dealer where I bought the car (Newport Lexus) to have struts inspected and replaced under warranty. The mechanic stated that struts should last for at least 50,000 to 60,000 miles.

On 1/24/2015: I took my car to Newport Lexus and asked them to look at the rear struts and rear tires because of recommendation of the previous mechanic who stated the struts were worn and they caused damage to the rear tires as a result. Newport Lexus did other minor repairs (safety recall on the trunk release, and fixed a cup holder under warranty), but my main concern were the rear struts.

When I picked up my vehicle from Newport Lexus, the service technician stated that the rear struts were fine. They stated that there were no leaks or problems found. They also stated that the tires were fine, and they showed no type of uneven wear/cupping.

On 3/2/2015: [redacted], Corona CA did an inspection of the rear struts. They found that both struts are leaking fluid from the top of the strut (they gave me pictures of struts showing the leaks). They raised the dust boot and found leaking from the struts. After inspecting the rear tires, it was found that the tires are cupped and the middle tread is separated higher in the middle of the tires.

Why didn't Newport Lexus find these issues during their inspection? I have all the documents from both Newport Lexus and [redacted], including pictures comparing the front struts and rear struts (the front struts look clean, while the rear ones are dirty/black and show leaking).Desired Settlement: Repair the struts under warranty, reimburse me for the inspection fee from the other mechanic who had to look at the struts a second time.

To Whom This May Concern,I am in direct communications with customer to resolve issue.

Review: I leased a Lexus GS350 on 12/24/2014. The sales associate failed to disclose the fact that the navigation system software was out of date and that they would not provide a free update. The software update was released 6 moths prior to the sale. Had I been informed that the navigation software was out of date and that an additional fee would be required to update the software, I would not have leased the vehicle.Desired Settlement: I think Newport Lexus should refund the trade-in value of the vehicle I sold to them for the lease of the GS350 ($1900) and the down payment ($2000) that was given for the vehicle. As stated, had I known the software was out of date and that they had no intention of updating it free of charge, I would not have leased the vehicle.

We drove over 260 miles to Newport Lexus in Newport Beach, California to pick up our Lexus. We negotiated a deal over the phone and internet. When we arrived salesman [redacted]. assisted us with the test drive and paperwork. At the time there were no verbal issues over the sale price. The Retail Installment Sale Contract was electronic, which I had never experienced. What I didn't realize at the time was the sales price was $1,488.00 over our verbal agreement. I just want future customers to be aware of how Newport Lexus operates.

Review: I've bought a 2008 pre-own Lexus LS600hL with 90 day power train warranty on 8/7/2014. Sales person had explained that all vehicles went through a complete inspection and services before they are offered for sale. Next morning I pick up the vehicle drove home, I noticed a severe shuddering when I turn right or left at slow speed. Took the car back next morning to have it repaired. Because the sales person is not in, the service dept can't do anything until Monday.

On Monday. The foreman claimed that all the 4wd Lexus all have this problem, it's normal there is nothing wrong with the car. I did my research and found out other 4wd Lexus don't have the shuddering problem when turning at lower speed. I also found a possible fix for the problem. The dealer claimed the transfer case is not a part of power train, so it is not covered by the 90 day warranty. The pre-own manager claimed that is a performance issue rather than a defects. If you want the vehicle turn without shuddering you have to paid for the 2000 dollars repair. He suggest me to call the Lexus Corporation to see what they can do.

The dealership did not admit that is a pre-existing defect and do not honor their warranty. They insisted there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. I signed the contract now the problem is mine. They have my vehicle at the shop and I am driving the loaner car they provided. I have to try to get help from the Lexus Corp. a case has been filed awaiting for a response from the headquarter. It has been a week since the purchas.Desired Settlement: If the dealership is unwilling to correct the defective product. I would like to ask for a refund.

I apologize for not responding sooner, I was on vacation in Italy. Mr[redacted] vehicle was repaired by Newport Lexus as a one time "Lexus Corp Customer Good Will" claim completed on August 27, 2014. We believe him to be satisfied with the repair.

Review: I have been a lexus customer for many years. I was considering a new lease at the end of my lease with lexus. I was able to speak with [redacted] about their specials and advised him that I was in no rush. He advised of their immediate specials and if I were to get a new lease with Lexus they would take my car back as is no more obligation. He did advise me that the only possible charge after the fact would be the spare key which I paid for. I signed a new lease with him and released my previous lease. several months later I received a bill for Millage disposition, and other fees. I called to talk to him about our agreement he said that doesn't sound right let me take it to management and call you back. no calls back I called every week and was advised he was taking his son to a sports game sorry he was busy no calls back finally week 4 I got an email. If you owe Lexus any additional funds you need to pay them signed G. I called again and left a message asked the manager to look into it and was told it was a matter of he said she said? I feel both transactions were dishonest and He lied to me about the release of my lease and my new contract and would like to make sure they correct their mistake and not lie to anyone else

Response:

Dear [redacted],

The Department of Motor Vehicle transfer of ownership has been completed and Mr. [redacted] has received his CA License Plates. It did take us an abnormal amount of time to complete the transfer because the CA DMV wanted to inspect the vehicle and then requested a letter from the Nevada DMV stating that it was never titled in Nevada. This is not a normal procedure, but the CA DMV was concerned because the vehicle was original sold in CA and the owner then moved to Nevada and got Nevada License Plates. When we received the letter the transfer was completed at the first available appointment with our local DMV office, this transaction had to be finalized in person. We failed to keep Mr. [redacted] properly informed of the delay. I have apologized and sent him a $250 gift certificate to our Dealership Boutique.

Please update your records, [redacted] is no longer with Newport Lexus.

[redacted], Jr.
