period the previous year, and current weather conditions.  As a result, it is possible for our estimates to be higher or lower than your actual usage.  Our physical meter readings allow us correct to the estimated bill if needed and bill to accurate usage.  Our records show your meter was physically read on 08/11/15, 09/02/15, 10/07/15, 10/12/15, 12/11/15, and 02/10/16. While we are unable to provide an actual meter reading every month we do provide the option of allowing our customers to report their own readings in the months we estimate.  You may report the readings through the MyAccount feature on our website at www.nicorgas.com, or with our Customer Service department.  Customer Service may be contacted at 1-[redacted] Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In the list below, the column on the left shows the dates your meter is scheduled to be read this year. gas usage on the meter and paper bills were mailed to the [redacted] Lair address)07/25/13 – You called to update the billing information for the Falcon Lane account04/09/14 – Service that was provided to you and you ex-husband stopped at the [redacted] Lair address when the new owners called to start service04/09/14 – Final bill in your name was mailed to the [redacted] Lair address04/29/14 – Final bill from [redacted] Lair was returned from the U.S. Post Office as undeliverable03/27/15 – You called and requested to transfer service from Falcon Lane to Wood Duck05/09/17 – Your ex-husband called to start service at his new address and was advised of the past due balance from [redacted] Lair  Public records show that you and your ex-husband jointly owned the [redacted] Lair address until it sold in April of 2014.  Due to being co-owner of the [redacted] Lair property and your ex-husband being a co-applicant on the Nicor Gas account, he was also responsible for the gas usage at the property.  I apologize for the inconvenience but no changes will be made to the billing of [redacted] Lair address.

Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding your balance and payment concerns.  We are sorry to hear of the passing of your ex-husband and understand what a difficult time this can be.  We have reviewed your Nicor Gas account and our research provided the following...

information: Service was in Mr. [redacted]’s name at the [redacted] Stone address from 08/21/2006 until 09/28/2016.  The name was changed to The Estate of….. on 10/14/15 when notice was received of Mr. [redacted]’s passing. Gas service was started in your name ([redacted]) as of 09/28/2016 when Nicor Gas received your written request advising service should be in your name. Mr. [redacted] had a second address in his name that ended on 6/03/2016.   After this account closed the final balance was transferred to the [redacted] Stone address on 07/05/2016 because the service was still active in Mr. [redacted]’s name. The disputed amount of $453.26 was removed from your account when we received the divorce decree.  At this time, the only unresolved issue is the refund check of $87.11. We have cancelled the refund check and moved the funds to your Nicor Gas account.  Your account now has a credit of $87.11 and you will see this credit on the bill that issues on 01/27/17.  Again we are sorry to hear of your loss and thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Thank you for contacting Nicor Gas about your gas service concern.  Our records show this issue was handled through the Illinois Commerce Commission and your gas service was restored on 05/13/17.  Thank you for allowing Nicor Gas the opportunity to address your concerns.

Thank you for your response.  Attached are copies of the deposit and disconnection notices that were mailed to your Lafayette St address.  Each month when your bill was generated it showed the previous month’s balance being past due.  The bills were available for viewing at nicorgas.com/myaccount website and an email was sent each month to advise when the bills were available for viewing. As of 06/30/16, your account is not on auto-pay.  If you would like to have the auto-pay feature, it must be added through the Nicor Gas MyAccount website.  To verify if the auto-pay feature is active the bill stub will have a message that reads an automatic payment will be deducted from your account on the date the bill is due.  If this message is not on the bill stub you will need to submit a payment for that month. If you need assistance in setting up the auto-pay, you may contact Customer Service at [redacted] Customer Service is available Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience and we will arrive between 8:00 a.m. and Noon on 07/01/16 to restore your gas service. Thank you for allowing Nicor Gas the opportunity to address your concerns.

I am rejecting this response because:They keep saying to contact the third party.  I do not know or what they are.  Nicor changed the billing without my knowledge or my conscent.It should have never been changed.  I owned the property, not the third party.  Nicor had nooo reason to listen to a third party.  The bill was current and no problems.  Then the gas shutoff on the coldest day of the year.

Regarding to Revdex.com CASE#: [redacted]. Please open this case again. Nicor Gas still charging me the deposit fee. Nicor Gas waived the deposit fee on December 2014. However, January & February 2015 I was charged $47 dollars. I didn't submit a complaint on January, because I was waiting to see if it was going to get fix on February. Please help. Thanks

I am rejecting this response because: Nicor attempted to charge me an additional $42.00 to have someone come out and read my meter after incorrectly shutting off my gas. Since it took Nicor over 2 months to compile a reply to my original complaint I have already corrected this matter but the company billed me for a Flat Service fee on 10/07/2015 when they restarted my service. I want the company to be aware of this as they attempting charge customers for Nicor's mistakes and that is unacceptable.
