Nissan North America Reviews (25)

My 2010 Sentra was purchased with only 23k on it. Within the first few months, I needed to replace most of the exhaust due to bad design, only to end up in the shop again to replace the rest of it. When the starter motor died at 78k and the engine began burning oil, I felt like I should cut my losses and go back to Honda. Cars don't typically need a new starter that early in their life or burn oil in the engine. Consumers don't typically need to spend $600-$800 on parts each year for their 3-5 year old vehicle. But I held onto it because by the time I was ready to sell it, the value was in the toilet. Which again intrigued me. Cars don't typically lose value that quickly. What was going on? [redacted] Search "Nissan CVT" and you'll find out about all the shiny new cars with faulty transmissions--and the company knows about it. But alas I was not that lucky. Because my engine blew up. The carbon buildup from the cheap piston rings that allowed my engine to burn oil was its final downfall. Cheap manufacturing led to a 6 year old, 98k lawn ornament. To put it in perspective, I paid a $300/month finance agreement--and then didn't get to keep the car afterward. It's now my personal goal to tell my story from every outlet possible (especially since your CSRs hang up on me every time I call) because you don't deserve the money you're getting from hardworking people in exchange for a car they think they can rely on. You can't rely on a Nissan just like you wouldn't rely on a Renault. Cheap manufacturing practices will lose you customers, and not assisting them properly leads to a fast erosion of your reputation. I hope that some consumers can sympathize with me, but mostly I just want to warn as many people as possible about your cheap manufacturing and utter denial of the problems it has caused. The absolutely heinous customer service is simply the icing on the cake.

Horrible customer serviceDespite a failure on a previously recalled issue Nissan cares nothing about taking care of the customer or owning up to their own failuresThis safety defect (hood flies open up while driving causing multiple damage issues) could have resulted in serious injury or death to my daughter, grandchild or other drivers After almost weeks they reluctantly agreed to make repairs but unwilling to work with owner to make sure vehicle is repaired to his satisfaction or compensated for the vehicles diminished value due to their negligence

On March 3rd, my truck quit on me on the way to workIt was as though it was not getting fuel, or was choking out or something I pulled over Then, I tried to start it, but realized it was still startedSo, I chugged forward toward [redacted] Nissan of [redacted] By the time I got there, it seemed to be running better againStill, I decided I'd better get the problem fixed because it was more than likely going to happen again, and maybe really leave me in a bind next time It seemed to me that [redacted] Nissan of [redacted] might be the best place to go since my truck is a Titan, but they did not hook it up to the scanner to diagnose the problemThen, they charged $128, saying they could not duplicate the problem while taking the truck out on two drives(I understood there was going to be the charge whether they found anything or not, but another mechanic across town later hooked the truck up to a diagnostic scanner and found the problem was the Mass Air Flow Sensor that had gone outI've now paid to have it replaced.) While Nissan was then fixing a Titan recall for the AC Dryer or Condenser (we'd decided would be fixed as well when I first took the truck in), someone ruptured my radiatorI'd never had a leak At around 34,miles, there had never been a drop of antifreeze on my driveway and I'd never smelled that very noticeable smell when there is a leakYet, they said the leak was already there and it was going to be my responsibility to replace the radiator before they could fix what was recalledI knew better, though, and when I got the truck home, antifreeze was actually pouring out onto the street They messed up while getting to the recalled part and did not admit what they'd done So, I ended up paying for another radiator and the cost of labor at another mechanic on that as well I stopped and talked with the Nissan GM Tuesday March 22ndHe said he wanted his service manager to hear what I had to say tooThe service manager said they did not hook my truck up to the diagnostic scanner because many different things would have popped up (like even how many times I have not worn my seatbelt) He said they do not guess on what could be wrong I asked if the $I paid (even when they did not find the problem) should have been reason enough for them to go ahead and diagnose it with an educated guess and with what would have popped up on the machine(That's what the mechanic did across town and he fixed the problem.) The service manager said the problem needed to happen while it was hooked up and they were driving it for them to know which of the things that popped up was the actual problem As far as the leak in the radiator, and the fact the leak was right under a plastic screw connector that would have been unscrewed by a mechanic to fix my recalled part, the service manager insisted the leak was already thereWhen I told him I know for a fact it was not there because I know what to look for and smell if antifreeze is leaking, and I'd never seen anything leak out onto my driveway, he again said the leak was already there He said his mechanic only popped the hood and would have no reason to lieI asked, what if he had tightened the screw with the screw gun by mistake instead of loosened it, and it cracked? He said, well that would be a problem I told them I've known all along it was his or their word against mine, and I'm not after money or for them to even fix anythingIn fact, I've already had the radiator and Mass Air Flow Sensor fixedI said I just want them to know I believe I was done wrong by the dealership, and I thought they'd want to know why I also told them I'd be contacting Nissan, and I'm glad I've finally gotten the chance to do that If the mechanic would not admit to rupturing my radiator on that Saturday afternoon, Jimmy C [redacted] should have believed me and taken responsibility I also believe Jimmy C [redacted] Nissan of Wichita Falls should have tried, even just a little harder, to diagnose the Mass Air Flow Sensor problem, especially since they were already going to charge me $whether it was diagnosed or not In just the past few years, we've had a Nissan Armada, Nissan Rogue, Nissan Pathfinder, Nissan Altima and Nissan Titan We are now through with Nissan Thank you for your time Darrell [redacted]

I purchased a Altima and at miles the transmission had to be replaced, at XXXXX the replaced transmission has to be replaced I think I have a Lemon!!!! I cannot get in touch with NA Nissan as I have tried for about hours to contact them The dealership has permisson to replace the transmission This will make transmission since it was assembled They will not tell me what the problem is with the transmission They just replace it and no one knows what the problem was My complaint is that is that since they are replacing with a new transmission each time is my warranty extended by 60,mikes I would not recommend the CVT transmission to anyone

I bought a Nissan Sentra brand new one owner just the other day I was drivingAs I got of the highway I stopped at a light and onse it turned green tried to gas it but it dosent moveI tried to put it in L nothing, reverse nothing car revs but dosent accelerateTook it to a mechanic they said transmission is gone Really disappointed years and cars transmission wentWould not recommend to anyone 8th nissan in the family and I'm woried now because they are all cvtafter this never buying another nissan they knew about the problemExtended the warrenty on the 2007-models but no recallNissan Sentra highway drivin daily and nissan don't want to fix itI financed the car for years still owe $and they want $for new transmissionVery disappinted with the quality I got for car special edition sr model defiantly wouldn't recommend to anybodyBeware very common problem with this vehicle don't buy cvt transmission
