Nissan of Garden City Reviews (45)

Review: I was forced to change plate instead of transfer it from my old car for extra DMV $390.00(???) and was told that this is a "must be done procedure" and I will get refund for all extra fees drom PenDOT. Never happened!

I was promised $250.00 check from NIssan for referral and and successful sale new car (my cousin purchased new car from the same dealer few weeks later and was told about check, being sent to me). Never happened! I was talking with sales person making this deal over the phone few times and he confirmed it.

I was trying to reach person from financial department ([redacted]??) closing this deal over the phone to discuss those problems. He have never been connected with me and never answered on messages.Desired Settlement: I need my over charges back.

I need my referral reward as we were promised.

I'd like to get apologies from company for wrong doing.

Response:

We had to get new plates for the customer because he had less than 30 days left on his current registration. This is per the state of PA.

I have a check for the customer for $276.50 for the MV overage and a check for $250.00 for the referral. The address listed in the complaint and the address that we have on file do not match.

I tried to call the customer 3x today and he kept hanging up on me - which I think is inappropriate. I need to verify the correct address to mail these checks to,

Please advise-

Thank you

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Dear [redacted]

My name is [redacted] and this is regarding complaint ID#[redacted]:

Couple days ago I finally received overage DMV payment in amount $276.50. It happened 3 and half month after I leased my car (July **/** 2013) and what was the most important, check was issued few days after my complaint to Revdex.com (check#[redacted] from 10/**/13). I have also realized from your message that rebate in amount of $250.00 is finally waiting for me (2 and half month after referred sale).

I loved my plates and I received them at the same time with my wife (means we have had 1 digit difference) but was forced by Nissan representative to change it. He told us that this is the policy when you buying car in NY but register it at Pennsylvania (my wife is alive witness!) you must change it. I called to PennDOT, they said this is not true.

I am Pennsylvania's resident, but also have mailing address in New York, where my children residing. There is no problem to contact me over the mail at anyone of those addresses.

Nissan called me twice during my working time and I wasn't able to talk (I work in public school and unable to have any conversation during the class in front of my students), but when I returned their calls operator wasn't able to find out the name of calling me representative and reason of their call.

Assuming all above, I come to conclusion that all positive financial responses from Nissan happened only thanks to your participation. We really appreciate all your help and wish you and your company best of luck in helping ordinary people fight for their rights.

All the best,

Review: On August *, 2014, I went to purchase a vehicle from Nissan of Garden City. The sale person inform me that the he needed a deposit and how much I can put down now; I inform him I can put down $500.00 and he inform me that if I was unable to get the vehicle I would be refunded my money. Because I was unable to purchase the Vehicle I ask the sale person [redacted] on August *, 2014 to refund my money. He inform me that I had to wait until Monday August *, 2014. On that Monday I drove there to get my refund. I was told by a [redacted] that it would be refunded on Tuesday August *, 2014. On Tuesday I called to check on the status of my refund I was told by another [redacted] name [redacted] that my funds were refunded. On Thursday August *, 2014 after still no refund. I spoke to [redacted] that inform me that was a lie and my refund still has not been processed. I just want my money back I was inform by Johnnie that if I did not buy a car I would get my full money back. I don't understand why I am having a hard time receiving my refund in a timely matter. This is very upsetting it’s been 5 day now I still don’t have my money and I am being given the run around.Desired Settlement: Refund $500.00

Review: I was contacted by Nissan of [redacted] as a repeat and valued customer for their Memorial day sale. Being this would be my third consecutive Nissan vehicle and the second from this dealership I felt they really cared and wanted my business when I received the email advertisement.

However after I saw the vehicle and was ready to make a purchase the [redacted] wouldn't honor the advertisement that was sent to me from the dealership. I hope this isn't an ongoing practice of false advertising used just to lure unsuspecting consumers into the dealership and then just giving them whatever the dealership feels like doing.Desired Settlement: All I ask is for them to honor the advertisement which they sent to me. Is that too much to ask or expect?

[redacted], Came in on a general mailer stating that we COULD POSSIBLY TRY and trade him out of his current vehicle. In no way did this mailer state anything more then just this. COULD POSSIBLY trade him out. After sitting with the [redacted] Roosevelt WE CAME TO an amicable sales agreement. After preparing the vehicle to be taken delivery of, [redacted] was asked to provide his credit information since he was financing this vehicle. [redacted] was less then acceptable for the lending institutions to lend him monetary assistance. [redacted] was also asked to provide his wife's credit information to help the lending institution lend them monetary assistance. [redacted] and [redacted] were not comfortable with these findings and were explained to try OTHER avenues to proceed with the original amicable sales agreement. The dealer does not benefit in advertising phony or mickey mouse advertisements. The purpose of these advertisements is to assist in monthly sales goals and to be a successful Customer Sales Satisfaction Dealership. We apologize that not every deal that is made will be delivered to the customer. The Dealership does not continue to be a National sales leader, nor does it continue to fulfill its customer promise of completely satisfying each and every customer by NOT delivering vehicles. Customer was directly handled by our sales management staff, assisted by our finance staff, and was offered other options to a vehicle delivery. Unfortunately we were unable to complete the delivery. Customer is welcomed to reach out to their Sales Management staff that they already purchased 2 other vehicles from if they feel there is something else that can be done. We welcome all our customers thoughts, as this helps us in our continuing customer service excellence.

Review: I intended to purchase a vehicle. They held the keys to my trade in while we tried to negotiate a deal on the vehicle. The salesperson and [redacted] refused to discuss the price of the vehicle until I provided an insurance card or insurance binder with the vehicle listed on it, or provided a deposit on the vehicle. When this happened, I had to ask for my keys back three times before they released them to me. I left the dealership and later realized my license and trade in vehicle registration was not returned to me. I called the dealership and was told they do not have the registration, but they will mail the license back to me. I have not received my license or registration.Desired Settlement: Truthfully the business should pay for the replacement costs of my license and vehicle registration, but I highly doubt that will ever happen. They should consider treating their customers with a little more respect and maybe implement a system that, when they hold a customers keys, they ensure they return all of the customer's belongings with the keys.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. I appreciate that the dealership sent me compensation for their actions. I am still extremely disappointed with the way this dealership conducted business and would not ever consider returning, especially after the extremely pleasant experience I encountered at the dealership I ended up purchasing my vehicle from. When speaking with the [redacted], I was never even offered an apology for the actions of his sales staff.

Sincerely,

Review: Leased two new cars from this dealership. At first we were hesitant about the sale price it was more than we expected to pay especially with trading in two used cars. We are paying $225 each car monthly. To help the sale the [redacted] gave us a package of free lifetime oil changes on both cars. The only rule we had to follow was to have the oil changes at his location and we agreed. I received an email customer survey which I still stated I was still not happy with the price because it should have been lowered since we did put a payment of the two cars. Due to my answer on the survey [redacted] the sales man called me several times threatening that he will take our oil change package away. I called the location and spoke to a woman who said that couldn't happen since we do have physical proof we are supposed to get them for free. Two months later when it was time for regular oil change the [redacted] stated he has every right to take them away. He said it is the outcome of giving his location a bad score on the survey. I explain to him how can he punish us for the score he received we are supposed to answer those surveys honestly. We also agreed at the time of the sale we will get them for free if we do not get them that is a void of service on the dealership behalf.Desired Settlement: There are two options that can fix this situation first one I can get my oil changes for free like we agreed or have my car payments decreased to cover the new cost of us paying out of pocket for the oil changes.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: When I leased my car I returned a leased car and explicitly made it clear that all costs involved with returning the lease should be included in the price. I was told that was done and the lease termination statement showed that I returned the car and no further costs would be involved with the lease. This was stated and restated several times with the salesperson and person the does final paperwork. I received a letter from the leasing company stating we owed $1611.45 for charges incurred when the lease was returned by the dealership. I spoke to the dealer, [redacted], after I received the letter and he said they were not responsible for the fees. Nothing was in writing, so basically tough. I asked if there was anyone else I could speak with and he said, " no he was it" and then hung up. I was referred by a family friend, [redacted] - [redacted] for the company, and never thought about writing every last word down since I thought I would get a fair deal and in addition every car I had ever leased, you turned the car in and you were finished with the lease. Lastly, the salesperson, [redacted] , made many incorrect statements and didn't care about anything other than leasing a car. I told her a minimum of 5 times about all costs included in the deal. I only had one key when I went to the dealer and when I asked her about dropping off the next day, I was told that was not necessary. There was a $250 charge on the bill for the missing key….I returned it immediately after receiving the bill and that charge was removed. Why would I not return a key if I knew I would get charged for it or thought I was responsible for it? Again, the dealer was not truthful!!!Desired Settlement: I expect the dealership to keep their word and pay the bill. $1611.45 minus $250 for the key I returned plus tax= $1339.89

Sincerely,

Review: I brought my Nissan Maxima in to my dealer for an inspection. My car was fine and was experiencing no issues. I only required an inspection. After checking the car, they said I needed rear brakes. I agreed the have the repairs done. The inspection took a very long time and I was informed that there was an issue with the inspection machine. After the inspection and the car was returned to me, I noticed that engine check light was on driving home. I also noticed the car wouldn't start immediately like it normally does. When I got home, I immediately called the dealership and notified them. They said to "bring in the car and they will fix the problem". After I returned the car and they checked it, they said that I suddenly required 2 sensors that was damaged which costs over $500 in repairs... My car was fine before I brought in my car for inspection... now sensor problems? After complaining to management, they first said the car has been sitting for months which was absolutely false. I drive my grandchildren to work everyday. Clearly this is an attempt to extort and take advantage of an senior citizen woman... They damaged my car and should be responsible for fixing it.Desired Settlement: Repair the Sensors/engine check light issue free of charge as promised.

I was promised at the time of the purchase that the bill for the miles gone over in my previous lease was going to be covered by Nissan of Garden City. About a month or so after the sale I received the bill in which I brought the bill to my sales man, Edwin. He then reassured me that they would take care of the bill. About a month after that I received a collections notice regarding the un-paid bill. After going back and forth with Edwin, the sales man and John M[redacted] on 10/**/2015 John left me a message again telling me that they would cover the bill. From 10/**/2015 till today 11/**/2015 the bill still has not been paid and no one will get back to me.

my family financed about 3 cars all in one month with no problem. When one of the cars had an issue they hesitated to fix. Horrible service dept. and horrible sales dept. all they care about is selling. To this day I have nothing but issues with nissan !

Customer made purchase of this vehicle over 3 years ago and decided to trade it in a year or so later. As with any new vehicle purchase that is traded in in such a short period of time, there was negative equity that was carried over to their new purchase. Customer was able to get her new purchase financed at a low interest rate and used additional cash down to assist her in her request for reasonable monthly payments. Customers interest rate was obtained by her following the original agreement of making all her payments on time and to keep her credit improving. As customer originally agreed to trade in her previous vehicle and purchase this newer vehicle she was to abide by the same credit criteria as before. Customer came in to refinance this newer vehicle but was unsuccessful for multiple reasons. Customer spoke to the Spanish and English speaking [redacted] at the time and explained to them their options. No agreement was made. The [redacted] has not been at this store for almost 2 years now, and for this to come up now is puzzling. Customer did not spend their monies at the dealership but on their purchase of their vehicle. All payments and monies down went to their vehicle financing, not to the Dealership. If this customer feels that there is additional help that we can provide them, please have them feel free to contact the Sales Management Team at ###-###-####. It is our Customer Promise business policy to assist every customer that can be assisted. Our dealership strives to be a Universal Sales Leader and to provide customers with exceptional customer experiences. As we make every attempt in doing this, we can not guarantee perfect resolutions.

Review: First off I signed several documents on key pad and received any copies. I have real knowledge what I was actually signing. Secondly, I was trying to get out the deal but I was inform by the Manager had to right in the car for 13 months. Third, I think they rush me into a deal without fair payments and I was never inform the value of my car turn in.

Nor did they give the option to finance instead of leasing.Desired Settlement: I would like copies all paperwork signed. I would like know if the payment option are what the average person pays National. Because I know with my last lease over charged.

Review: I bought a leased a car from garden city Nissan,, was told after I signed the paperwork that they did not have both keys available.. and that my spare key was at another location that was not accessible at that time... I was told it would come via ups /fed ex. nothing showed up for weeks.. as I called several times and thy ran out of stories to tell me they finally said. please do not cal we are not inclined to helping you.... they stopped taking my calls I have details and notes of who I spoke to on every occasion... I stopped in today as I was fed up and knowing that my lease is expiring in the next 45 days and was re assured by Nissan USA that I would be billed for that missing key.. I went in to try and resolve this amicably though the [redacted] was extremely rough .asked me to leave and reminded me that they have my application and sensitive info... they owe me my spare key that has a value of $430.00

not to mention anyone why specifically reminds a person that they have access to sensitive information imply Mal intent and that it was premeditatedDesired Settlement: send me what I paid for

Review: The sales rep forced me to sign the lease agreement by holding my $500 and threating me that they will keep my deposit unless I sign the lease agreement.

Since my lease is almost over now I just found out that they put the disposition fee of $395 into the contract. They never disclosed it to me and now they are keep on telling me that I signed the contract with that fee in there. I remember I tried to ask the sales rep about that fee and he told me that it does not apply to me because I a leasing the car not buying the car.Desired Settlement: I am asking them to waive the $395 disposition fee from the contract since I was misinformed about it.

Review: My wife and I shopped around to several Nissan dealers before going into Garden City Nissan. We had already settled on leasing a new 2013 Rouge SL and had several quotes from other dealers. All the quotes were for a 39 month lease, sign and drive with first months payment up front. Also the quotes were for the Nissan dealer(s) to be responsible for the 4 months of payments due on the vehicle I would be turning into Toyota prior to the end of that lease. Also, the quotes include the dealers responsibility to take care of the over mileage charges. My wife and I sat down with a salesman, [redacted], who we told about our being to other dealers and what we wanted to do. He then went to talk to his sales manager. He returned a few minutes later with a couple of quotes for monthly payments depending on the amount of money down. We reiterated to [redacted] that we wanted a sign and drive deal excepting the first months payment. We were about to walk out when the sales manager, [redacted], came to the table we were sitting at. [redacted] asked if we would do the deal for $346 per month would we take a car off of stock right then. We told him yes, but only if he was to pick up the last four payments on our old car and take care of the over mileage charges. We went over the deal again reinforcing our understanding of the payments, the over mileage charges on our old care and the last four months of payments on that vehicle. [redacted] suggested to us that we really only had three months of payments left. We though that was possible. We ordered the car. This was on Saturday evening April 20, 2013. We picked up the car on Monday, April 22. A couple of weeks later I contact Toyota Financial Services Corp to see if all back charges were paid by Garden City Nissan as we verbally agreed. I was told they received a check for three months payments but, a fourth was still due. I went over to Garden City Nissan and was given the satisfaction that they would handle that fourth month's payment. Which they did. But, that is not the issue. I subsequently received a certified letter (dated May **, 2013 from Toyota that I owed $562.05 + tax at 8.63% for excessive mileage. I then went back to Garden City Nissan to raise this issue with them. After about an hour of sitting there I finally spoke with the sales manager [redacted] about it. He pointed out that the matter was not on the written order form for the car and asked if I had any other writings that might have addressed the over mileage. I told him that whether is was written or not he agree to take care of the mileage. He refused to do so and also refused then and in a subsequent phone call I had with him to give me his last name. I then tried calling the dealerships general manager to discuss the issue. I was told by the operator he was busy and would call me back. I was told his first name was [redacted] but was refused his last name. He never called me back. This last I made to the dealer was on June **. Last week I contact Nissan USA about this issue and to complain about the dealership. I spoke to a [redacted]s there. She later called me back today (after numerous follow up calls by me) to tell me she spoke to [redacted] but there was nothing Nissan USA could do. [redacted] suggested I contact the Revdex.com, as I am doing.Desired Settlement: The dealer pay Toyota Financial Services the amount of $610.55 which covers the over mileage charge + tax.

Review: I went into Nissan on 3/** with intentions of purchasing a vehicle, I decided on a car. I told [redacted](sales rep) many of times I did not want my credit ran because I already had an approved auto loan from [redacted] credit union. He tried to get me to fill out a credit request form but I questioned him on why I needed to fill it. He tried to explain that he needed this to contact [redacted] and get a "match code" and push my loan to 72 months verse 60 months, which I thought was a little weird. Before signing anything I contacted a family member that is the [redacted] at Nissan in [redacted] She also then spoke with [redacted] & also advised him that my credit is to not be ran, I already had an approval I just needed the Buyers order & insurance binder & I could pick up my check. He filled out the Buyers order & asked me for me a copy of my license, social, income & place of work to call [redacted] & set up the insurance & that will show as an inquiry on my credit He called pretending to be my step dad to add me on. As a curtsey I called [redacted] and advised him that my loan expired. [redacted] of course as a sales man still tried to sell me the car advising me that he could get me approved at the same rate & same payment. I told him that I could not take the risk of my credit being ran because I am trying to build my credit & did not want many inquires. I also spoke to my cousin that advised me that Nissan will run your credit many times to many banks to get an approval. [redacted] then called me on 04/** & of course again tried to sell me the car. I told him my cousin already checked my credit & I wont be able to get approved. He advised me that he would check if she ran in through Nissan if not he would call me back with my options. He never called me back & on 04/** I had over 5 inquires on my credit. I called & spoke with [redacted] who still has not called me back & left a message for the GM & still no call back. This is fraud & I am pursuing a lawyer. I did not sign anything to have my credit ranDesired Settlement: Desmond and [redacted] advised me and my Cousin that I was approved for one of the many loans that he applied for but yet no one has contacted me back about this loan or offered anything. Review: Car was purchased on 01/**/10 very late in the evening. When we got home and read over papers saw they had added extra fees including ext warranty which they said was required by finance. They added charges because my grandson had not established a credit history, but then put my name on loan first. Went back the next morning when they opened to cancel the financing, but they said we couldn't as it was already processed. They finally agreed to delete the ext warranty for 2500 and give a refund but we would have to wait til we paid off loan. Went back to dealer Oct **, 2014 with papers for refund of 2500. They made copies of everything and said would get back to us. Have called dealer at least 9 times since then and they have made one excuse after another. The finance person who signed form no longer there, person we saw on 10/** no longer there, the [redacted] has changed. Today the excuse was they think they may have mailed a check in 2011 so they need to look up files and will take time. Each time I call, I'm told I will be called back which has not once happened. This is a run around. I just want the $2500 refund that was agreed to in writing on 01/**/10. I have called on 12/*/2014, 1/*, 2/** twice, 2/**, 2/** twice, 3/* twice, and 3/*.Desired Settlement: refund of the $2500 agreed to on 01/**/10

Review: . The complaint is as follows, "involved a given sales price of $20,995 and advertised on the internet as Nissan Certified used car and to that price was added destination fee of $695 and documentation fee of $495. This Maxima was advertised as Nissan Certified but I was charged $982 for making it certified for powertain 100k miles although the warranty clearly states no charge. When I asked the salesman to list these items on the sales receipts he said no I can't do that because it's not legal to show separately. I did more research after I bought the vehicle and found out that destination fee is only for new cars. I also bought a used Honda Odyssey from Honda dealer and further inquired about CPO and was told that no additional fees is paid to the Manufacturer for certifying except checking the vehicle and inspecting, therefore nothing should be charged to the customer, where as I was charged $982 in the name of purchasing CPO, while nothing was charged by Honda dealer. I would like to get a response from the Nissan dealer regarding their practices and want full refund of these misrepresented charges. If I don't hear from you soon, I plan to take this to OIG as well as state legislator's office in my area and pursue further. Thank you for looking into this matter, and hoping to hear from you soon. If you need further information, please reach me at the cell number provided. I have copies of internet advertisement as well as the CPO warranty paper that clearly state no charge.Desired Settlement: I would like Garden City Nissan to arrange to refund me $2,172 plus taxes that I overpaid above the agreed advertised price. I will sign any non-disclosure agreement that is needed to get my money back.

Review: I got to Nissan of garden city around 4:00pm. I was interested in two vehicles the rogue SL awd and the murano. After the car salesman Carlos showed me the Nissan Rogue SL awd peremium package I was sold on it but 1 problem, they had told me they only have 1 more left on there lot and it was a white with a beige interior. He made me drive it and I was convinced it was the car I wanted because it has ALL the features I was asking for, so we were negotiating for hours going back and forth with this one one that I wasn't sold on and I got the number I wanted to lease per month. I had told him since the beginning that I wanted a black on black rogue SL premium package because that's what he sold me on when he had sold me. As the evening goes on with him trying to convince to lease this white rogue I wasn't giving in because I had told, him I wanted the black. After a few hours I gave up and said I wanted my time and give me my keys back (I was at the end of my lease) so I can leave and shop elsewhere for my black rogue SL Awd premium edition. He says ok let me see what I could do, he shows me the same model car I wanted but a different color which was gunmetal silver that was "just delivered from another location". I wasn't considering it but after seeing it I liked it and I shock his hand and said this is the one I want, so we go back inside and he comes back after 15 minutes stating that "that car was held by someone else who had put a down payment on it" I didn't believe it at all so he was trying to sell back back in the original white one that I didn't want and told him 100x. He lowered the number a lot more that I negioted so I was considering it again and as I was discussing the terms and payments his manager says that car actually isn't available because someone in the store just filled the paperwork out. At this time I know they were playing games because it turns out it was available then it wasn't available to back to being available because the "credit wasn't acceptable" and they weren't going to go through with it. So at this time I wanted the gunmetal one that wasn't available because "someone put a down payment to reserve it" to the white car not being available because of the "credit not being good". I said one last time with both the salesman and the manager Tito there's no way possible you can locate or get a black one, he he goes running and says "let me see what I can do" it turns out that they had a black one on their inventory lot which was 15 minutes away that "just got delivered", this was around 9:30 and they close at 10 but he had told me it doesn't have the moonroof or the high powered lights in the front.. They had rushed me there without me thinking if I wanted the car because it didn't have the premium package as they showed me in the previous 2 rogues on their lot. We went there and I was sold on the color which was what I wanted the black on black leather but NO premium package. When we rushed to the inventory lot I was so aggravated because I saw 100s of rogues and I even asked the salesman when we were inside the new car. I said "You mean to tell me that out of all these cars and all these rogues there's not 1 in black on black with prememium edition" he responds and says no no no these are all the S and SV packages which were the base level and mid level package. So we go back to the dealership around 10 and the manager says we got the color car you wanted BUT it doesn't have the moonroof and lights so that will lower the msrp 1800 and it will be an even lower price to lease it. I wasn't sold yet because they said it wasn't the premium package but because it was late and it was the color I wanted they convinced and perseused me with very little time. I know that for a fact they had the exact car but they didn't want to give it to me because I negioted a low price, but they could still work out with. If I had more time I would have researched on my cellphone the differences between the SL and the SL premium package. Being that they told me the only difference is the moonroof and the lights, I took their word and signed the contract because the car was right there. I did the research the next day and it turns out that the premium edition that I wanted because that's what they sold to me has an additional 6 features including the lights, moonroof, more speakers, and ALL the safety turning signals and sensor signasl on all the cameras around the car. For example if the car is in reverse the sensors would give me a warning and the one that they had persuaded me doesn't have all those features. In closing I spend my whole day there hours opon hours to look and compare vehicles that weren't available to me and when they were they weren't what I wanted. I was sold on the best package and was delivered the packe below the best which was what I was sold to get. I would like to know if I could get the rogue SL premium package awd being that I was played like a fiddle with all the excuses in the book of cars not being available and trying to offer mr colors that I didn't want. I did put another complaint with consumer affairs and then business manager Nicolas was suppost to call me but never did, and when I called to ask for him I get transferred numerous times and then he wasn't available so I let a voicemail for him to call me back on and still has yet to do so! I feel like this dealership plays a lot of more serious games to people that don't know or understand! I do understand played hardball and still got [redacted]. Please see if you could help this matter.Desired Settlement: I want the car I was originally sold in the color I want which is the 2015 Nissan Rogue SL AWD Premium package black exterior with black leather.
