Bought a new Boston Marathon from proform.com. After waiting for two weeks, the machine finally arrived, but the incline model doesn't work right after arrival. Talked to customer care and I was told it takes 7-10 business days for them to locate and QA a new motor from the warehouse, and in the worst case, it could take 45 business days for them to find a working park.
I did not buy second hand, sold as-is, or otherwise refurbished equipment on ebay. I bought a shiny brand new equipment from the official website. It's disappointing that some part arrived dead and I will have to wait to get it fixed.
So, buyers beware, ask around to see what other people get from this company. Maybe I am unlucky, but you don't want to wait, wait, wait then get a broken machine and continue to wait, wait, wait, and wait.
Review: I purchased a 2014 Nordictrak X11i Incline Trainer for over $3000 counting tax warranty and shipment from the Nordictrak website – nordictrak.com. I also purchased a 3-year extended warranty. I paid with a Visa Credit card.
The treadmill itself has the following data:
Manufacturer = NORDICTRACK
Equipment Type = TL
Model = [redacted]
Serial = [redacted]
Date Purchased = 2014-01-06
Purchase Price = 2234.93
Where Purchased = [redacted]
Original Trouble Ticket was ticket: [redacted] made on April 18, 2014
I had to make a follow-on ticket, ticket: [redacted], on the same day as the operators on the phone are useless, much like their email counterparts.
In April of 2014, a couple months after I purchased the treadmill, the treadmill began having issues with the belt. I relayed the details of the issue to the customer service department email [redacted], [redacted], I even contacted Colleen L[redacted] the VP of Marketing for Icon Fitness [email protected]. Do you think anyone has helped?
Not only have I received no resolution, but I am continually asked for information by Tyler B, of Icon Fitness 1-800-999-3756. Once providing that information, it is mysteriously forgotten within 2-3 emails back and forth.
On June 12 I was sent an email telling me a repair part was being shipped. The email included the following “The confirmation number is: [redacted]. It will ship to you through [redacted] Surepost. We allow that order 7-10 business days”…….Do you think I have received it yet?
Their new approach is now hounding me for a receipt. Difficult to give them one since Icon Fitness never provided one. I still have the shipping manifest as well as the Extended Warranty Certificate, yet they never gave me a receipt. The treadmill has the same serial number and model number as one they shipped to…..the same address….and the same customer, me, with the same credit card that will now have to be disputed. Yet somehow their operation has no record of this?
What do you call it when you exchange money for a product/service and you keep up your end of the bargain and pay the money, yet the seller fails to deliver on their end of the agreement? Not only has Nordictrak stolen my money, but it’s a slap in the face. I am an active duty Marine, wounded in combat, trying to use this machine to assist in my recovery. This organization has shown zero respect, courtesy, or even common decency. This continued, complete disregard for the promises they made in their warranty is a disgrace and criminal.
Icon Fitness / Nordictrak - either fix my treadmill or give me back my money!!!
Everyone else, tell the world never to buy Nordictrak or Icon Fitness products. Burning your money is a better option. Buy another brand with proven integrity and customer service.Desired Settlement: My preference is to have the treadmill repaired without delay. It must work 100%, particularly with the amount of money spent and the 3 year extended warranty purchased.
If Nordictrak cannot handle this quickly, I want this piece of garbage out of my garage and my money back. My next step is disputing the payment with my credit card company as Icon Fitness has failed to uphold their end of the bargain.
