parts paid for by yourself, we cannot warranty any parts that were not associated and purchased thru Midas.  You paid the supplier directly for the parts in order for us to save you money.   The part that has failed is the accumulator. The failure of this part has also effected your condenser and is not allowing it to work.  We regret the fact that we cannot justify a refund at this time, however our offer is: You supply your own parts again to save you money and we will discount the labor.  We feel this is a fair solution to this problem.  If we can be of any further assistance please contact me directly at [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: This business response is totally unacceptable to me because, it forces me to keep a business relationship this company. I have no desire to have any contact with Midas after the way they’ve handled this situation. I’ve been a loyal customer of theirs for some time. I went elsewhere for my repairs that’s, why I wish a cash refund to cover my debt. I feel like, I’m being held as a hostage by this company.

I am rejecting this response because:The previous Midas shop, just two weeks prior found nothing wrong with my rear brakes.  Another shop examined my brakes; they did not work on my brakes. Once they realized Midas had used the wrong parts on my vehicle, and that Midas had done repairs that were not obviously warranted, they advised me to come back to Midas, which is what I did. I have attached copies of the Midas assessment done 2 weeks and 1000 miles prior to the rear brake job being done.  It shows NO issues with my rear brakes at all.

was noted for us to fully inspect your vehicle and to check why they check engine light was on.  It was noted by our technician that there were multiple misfires within your spark plugs.  We presented a basic tune up and an oil change along with some emission work.  You gave us the ok to perform the basic tune up and you declined to address any other work due to the fact that you didn't want to invest much money for repairs on the vehicle.  We completed the work approved and after that is when we noticed on the road test that the vehicle was making some valve clattering noise.  If that valve clatter noise was mentioned to us when you checked in and that was what you wanted us to address we would of focused on that issue.  We apologize for all of the miscommunication as to us only being able to address what is mentioned to us when you check in.  It was also mentioned to us that [redacted] was the one cussing and being very unprofessional!  At this time we cannot justify any sort of refund, however we can offer you an in-store credit of $320.00.  This in-store credit can be used towards any future service you vehicle may need.  Please feel free to contact me directly to take advantage of our offer.

determined that your vehicle had damaged our catalytic converter.  Torque had damaged the part, warranty disclaimers were violated and not used accordingly.  You have failed to bring your vehicle back to Midas to address the issue under warranty.  We cannot pay for another company to redo the work.  There were other items that were needed and you decided not to have done due to finances.  We regret the fact that we cannot justify any sort of refund.   Thank you [redacted]

My wife didn't decide to go with the less expensive one as you so eloquent indicated.  In fact, she specifically stated that she wanted a brand new part.  The part that was installed was used without her knowledge and the price for which we were charged clearly was for a brand new one.
