Review: Dealership advertised a price of 14,995 for car on the computer. Out at the very bottom of the screen that the car has to be financed at 90% with the 14,995 being the price after you put down $995. Hence, the real price of the car is about 1000 dollars more. After doing the dance that the car dealership does with added fees etc. we settled on a price of 16,600. I put a deposit down, bring my husband back the next day, meet the salesman and the car at my mechanic the day after and then go to the dealership to sign the papers. I get with the finance person and I am told that in order to get the car I have to hold the car loan for 7 months and they tell me I need to sign a paper guaranteeing that I will. I had to leave a credit card number on the form for them to bill my charge card if I do not hold the loan for 7 months. I argue that the information given in the add is that I have to finance it through them but does not state anything about how long I have to hold the loan . No where is it in writing that this is a requirement and car loans have no prepayment penalty. When I didn't want to sign this agreement they threatened to not sell me the car. I felt backed into a corner because I had already invested 3 days into this deal, we wanted the car and I was expecting it to be a certain price. Now with having to hold a loan for 7 months, which they inflated the interest rate on because I didn't take the warranty, I am now having to pay and additional $500 for this car in interest. If I pay it off early they will charge my credit card $899.00. I do not feel that this is fair business practices and I don't believe it to be legal. If I didn't sign the agreement, they wouldn't sell me the car. I signed the paper and left in tears with the car.Desired Settlement: I do not want the 7 month requirement to hold the loan, I want the paper I signed to be removed from record and I want them to refrain from these practices in the future.

Response:

Tell us why here... we brought the car to her mechanic.the mechanic said the car was PERFECT in every way. we presented her with all the facts and the way we do business. we told her if shes not happy or comfortable we will refund her money no problem. she wanted the car because she got a great price and she loves the car. we did nothing that we did not explain to her. as she said, the fees are listed on our website and we are still the most competitive when it comes to price. The fact that I had to sign the agreement to hold the loan for 7 months was not brought up until we sat to do the financing. That was also not written anywhere in the ad. They said that the car had to be financed for 90% but by law banks do not have a prepayment penalty so doing the deal was not an issue for me until they added that at the finance table. Also, the interest rate given would change based on whether or not I took a warranty or not. If I am going for a loan, in this case [redacted], my credit score determines my rate. The rate should be the rate regardless of what else I purchase. Full disclosure would be stating that you have to sign something agreeing to hold a loan at the interest rate of our choosing, for 7 months and that regardless of the rate you are eligible for at the bank, we determine the rate based on whether you buy a warranty or not. That conversation would be before I spent my time for three days and went to my mechanic with the car. By then I had invested so much time on the deal that walking away meant starting over not that they had the best price in the end. They had the best price in the beginning before everything added up at the end. Their sale tactics are deceptive which is why they are not Revdex.com accredited. I wish I would have researched them initially because I would never have gone to their dealership. I would like that paper removed from my file and I would like to decide myself whether I choose to keep the loan or not. I will also be contacting the State Attorney General and [redacted].

Response:

Tell us why here...we explained everything to you before you signed the papers and before you took delivery. we discount the rate with a warranty. has nothing to do with the bank. same with prepayment penalty. has nothing to do with the bank. again we went over these facts before you signed anything. we had no problem refunding your deposit if you had any trepidations with this deal. you knew you were getting a great car at a great price and wanted to proceed. I have nothing more to say. if you would like to discuss this in person I will be more than happy to go over the deal with you in person. thank you [redacted]

Review: Suspicious sales tactics. Was told that I couldn't finance car through outside lender or they would tack on an extra $1500.00. I was told that they would only be 1% over my bank. Which they kinda of met that, but with a catch. I had to purchase an extended warranty. I want to cancel this warranty and was told that I cannot or they will charge me the same amount as the coverage actually cost. They have avoided my calls and I had to go to the dealer after the sales because they did not give me loan finance papers in my package. I was also charged for a full tank of gas $45.00 this is in the finance so I'm being charged interest. I was also only given one key and they said second key was ordered. Also car was given to me with incorrect floor mats making it a hazard to drive (mats get caught in gas pedal) had to remove mats. This is a certified vehicle.Desired Settlement: I would like to cancel the extended warranty and be rufunded for the charges plus taxes. Also

Would like a second key and charges for gas plus taxes be refunded. I did not charge them for the gas that was in my vehicle trade in . Don't see why I should be charged for gas from the dealer. All above while keeping same interest rate of 3.6 %

Response:

Tell us why here...I will call the customer and make sure he gets his second key and that the mats are the right mats for the car or I will change them.as for the warranty we discounted the rate for him to purchase the warranty and he was very happy at the time. thank you dave haber gm

The dealer has provided second key on 1/**/2016 and the general manager did call me and assure me that he would order brand new mats for my vehicle. My main dispute is with the financing and warranty. Neither [redacted] or [redacted] care will penalize me if I refinance loan or cancel extended warranty. The dealer claims that he has the right to charge me for the full amount of the warranty $1335.00 and $899.00 for the loan if I cancel or refinance. When all they would lose is their commission. Please see attached documents with description notes.Thank you[redacted]

Review: I was called by North Shore Honda about a minivan I wished to purchase. The manager said he could only get the car in black (my second choice) with a Chestnut interior. I ordered the car with the stated interior color of Chestnut. However, the Manager Phil LIED to me about the interior when it is actually called Truffle. Truffle is grey Chestnut is Brown, two very different colors.

The manager Phil ADMITS that he told me the interior color would be Chestnut, when in actuality he LIED to me and ordered it in Truffle.

Because I was watching our children my husband picked up the car without understanding he was being ripped off and lied to by the manager.

Although he admits he lied and misrepresented to true color he will not exchange the car or make any arrangements to correct the situation. Even though he first stated that he would exchange the car.

This car is the ugliest car and clearly the dealer just wanted to dump it on us to get rid of it.Desired Settlement: I would like to replace the car as Phil told me he would do at first. Otherwise I will be happy to have the car returned for full refund or at the very least painted on the outside because the inside cannot be changed.

Business

Response:

Tell us why here... this is utter nonsense. the color interior is exactly what we promised period. when they picked up the car there were no problems.the interior is a standard interior and they saw the interior many times when they came into purchase the car even before delivery thank you dave

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

North Shore Honda did not accurately describe the interior

of the car when they called it chestnut.

When I called to complain about the color they admitted to

me that they told me it was chestnut and not truffle when I placed the phone

order. Their argument is that chestnut

and truffle are the same color but it is very clear that chestnut is in no way

truffle! If chestnut were the same as truffle Honda would call it chestnut.

At no time was the name truffle ever used when presenting

the telephone order, it was called chestnut every single time!!!

I would never have authorized the order if I had been told

the true color of the interior, as I was very specific to say that these colors

made me sad, prompting Phil to tell me all about his green car.

I was unable to pick the car up in person and my husband did

not understand what had been ordered when he picked up the car.

At no time did I ever come into the dealership and accept

that was the car I had ordered.

Phil admitted to me that he described the color at chestnut

and not truffle on the telephone call on 8/**/15.

CHESTNUT IS NOT TRUFFLE ~ ONE IS BROWN THE OTHER GREY!!!!

The car was not accurately described to me, if it was being ordered in truffle they should have called it that.

Review: Dealership sold a CPO vehicle with a clean car fax. However, upon inspection the tires looked worn out and almost bald, causing my concern for safety. Dealer approved a swap for two tires to be replaced for the next visit. The next day, the dealer harassed my father and I to return to the dealership so that they could make their final sale for the month. I was at work so my father had to go with my mom, to sign some papers. However, the dealers had my father sign blank contracts without all the information present and said the car tires were still being fixed. I went to the dealer and wanted to see the car again. This time, I found out that the dealer put the car in the end of the lot in the dark, with no lights to help make the car hardly visible.

I checked the tires and they seemed relatively okay but I couldn't see them well in the dark. However, I found out that the dealer masked the car with some patchwork on the rear right fender that you could feel and see, they used some cheap paint that did not match the car color, and both rear light covers were of some cheap material that were not factory made. Overall, I asked the dealer to which him and his team were downright rude and said they wouldn't do anything and the problem was ours, not theirs. Finally, they said they would give me a "We Owe" to buff out the fender. The receipt I signed to complete the deposit shows how late at night they showed me the car.

The next day, I inspected the tires in the day time, and found out that one of the tires had a plug in it. I went back to the dealer and again, they were just as rude. They said that they would only swap the tire for another used one. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience dealing with [redacted], [redacted], and [redacted]. None of them treated the customer with any respect and used immoral ways of doing business. They sold me a car with a clean car fax but failed to address the issues of the car; rear right fender, poor tire quality, and rear light covers. The car was obviously in an accident but the car fax had nothing about it on record.Desired Settlement: I just want the rear fender on the passenger side of the car fixed to match the left. After that, I don't want to deal with this shady dealership again.

Response:

this is totally untrue. we went over the entire car before finalizing and they were totally satisfied. on the last day of the month we stayed till 11 pm to finish up with them I would be more than happy to address their needs. they can come in and see me and I will do my best to clarify the situation and make them happy thanks [redacted]. ###-###-####

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

It's quite interesting when the representative of North Shore Honda says that none of the documented information is true. However, the receipts with date and time provided says otherwise. As proof, [redacted] even states that at 11pm, the paperwork was finalized. So clearly, he is not denying that the car was shown at night. Let the record also point out that this car was in the far corner of their lot, with no lights to view the car properly. When moved to a somewhat lit place, it became evident that there was damage to the car that had been poorly repaired. I inquired about it and the [redacted] pretended like he had no idea what I was talking about. While discussing the issue further, they decided they'd offer a free buffering to get me out of there.

I thought that the buffering could've helped but after talking to a mechanic, they said it wouldn't do anything. North Shore Honda sold me a certified preowned car with a clean record but it was an obvious lie. I went back to talk to [redacted] and this good for nothing person had the nerve to talk down to me. He never looked me at the face once and told me that it's not his problem. He stated that at the most he'd offer a used tire.

After going to this business, on numerous accounts to work something out, they have proven themselves to be nothing more than modern day crooks. To believe anything [redacted] says positively about North Shore Honda would be an insult. He won't fix the rear fender of the car his company sold me but is willing to make one very dissapointed customer.

Sincerely,

Absolute thieves all around. I came in on an online advertised price for a lightly used honda for under 16,000. I walked out with the same car and a final price of over 23,000. Disgusting pressure tactics and lack of forthrightness when it comes to added on fees and financing

Every bad story you've heard about a used car dealership--this place does this same dirty tricks. If we hadn't been under such a time crunch....
