Re: [redacted], Revdex.com Case ID.:[redacted] Northland Reference No.: [redacted] Creditor: US BANK NATIONAL ASSOCIATION
Original Account No.:...

x[redacted]
 Dear Mr. [redacted],
Northland Group, Inc. (“Northland”) has obtained and reviewed the complaint filed through the Revdex.com by Mr. [redacted] regarding the above referenced account. Please accept this letter as our response to his complaint. The information contained in this response is personal and confidential.  It is Mr. [redacted]’s claim that he settled the above referenced U.S. BANK NATIONAL ASSOCIATION (“U.S. Bank”) debt with Northland based on the agreement that his credit profile would reflect the account as paid in full and in good standing. Contrarily Experian is reporting several late payments, a charged off status, and that the account was settled for less than the full balance. It is Mr. [redacted]’s request that Northland communicate the terms of the settlement to U.S. Bank so that they can make the necessary updates to his credit profile.
Northland has reviewed its file pertaining to Mr. [redacted]’s claims. U.S. Bank placed a balance of $4,444.52 with Northland for collection on or about July 21, 2014. We can confirm the account was closed in our office on October 16, 2014 upon receipt of an agreed settlement amount of $2,666.71.
Upon payment of the account and even during the negotiation process, Mr. [redacted] was clearly informed by our agent that Northland does not furnish information to the credit reporting agencies nor could we impact a [redacted]e of how the account may be reported following payment. When Mr. [redacted] posed inquiries and or made specific credit reporting requests, our agent encouraged him to contact U.S. Bank or the consumer reporting agencies directly.
We can confirm that U.S. Bank has also received the same complaint from Mr. [redacted] through the Revdex.com and will provide a separate response. Mr. [redacted] may contact U.S. Bank directly at 855.332.4252 should he require further assistance.
In summary, Northland’s investigation concluded Mr. [redacted] was not misled in any fashion as to Northland’s capacity related to credit reporting. We understand this may not be the resolution Mr. [redacted] anticipated. Resolving consumer concerns or issues completely and accurately is important to us; however, we would not be capable of assisting Mr. [redacted] with his desired resolution. We do hope this response provides an understanding of our position.
Sincerely,[redacted] Resolution Coordinator

Re: [redacted]
Northland Reference No.: [redacted] & [redacted]
...

Creditor: Department Stores National Bank
Regarding: [redacted]
Original Account No.: [redacted]
Dear Mr. [redacted],
Northland Group, Inc. ("Northland") has obtained and reviewed the complaint filed through the Revdex.com by **. [redacted] regarding the above referenced account. Please accept this letter as our response to her complaint. The information contained in this response is personal and confidential.
In her complaint, **. [redacted] states three payments of $60.08 were paid to Northland on January 30, 2013, February 6, 2013, and February 28, 2013 to satisfy the above account based on a settlement offer she received from our office in January 2013. **. [redacted] states she was never notified of a past due payment and has discovered Northland not only recently viewed her credit report but, is attempting to collect on a remaining balance of $340.44. In contacting our office regarding the matter, it was confirmed that payment was received on January 30, 2013 and February 6, 2013; however we did not have record of the final payment made on February 28, 2013. She is requesting the final payment be applied to the original settlement agreement and Northland update its records to reflect the account as paid and notify the credit reporting agencies of the same.
We have reviewed our files related to **. [redacted]' claim. The above account was initially placed with our office by [redacted] for collection on or about September 7, 2011 (Northland Reference Number: [redacted]). During placement, Northland made several attempts to communicate with **. [redacted] by phone and mail. Of those attempts, an offer to settle the account for three payments of $60.08 was mailed to **. [redacted] on or about January 8, 2013. On January 30, 2013, Northland did receive the first installment of $60.08. In response, Northland sent **. [redacted] a notice via mail on or about February 4, 2013 requesting the second installment of $60.08 be received in our office on or before February 28, 2013. Northland did not receive payment following that communication.
Attempts were made to reach **. [redacted] by phone regarding the past due payment all of which resulted in no answer. We sent two additional notices by mail on or about April 4, 2013 and February 19, 2014 attempting to formulate a new payment arrangement with **. [redacted] and received no response. The account was recalled from our office on January 5, 2015.
Just recently, the file was replaced with our office by [redacted]'s for collection on or about January 8, 2016 (Northland Reference Number: [redacted]). The balance listed is $340.44. This would explain Northland's permissible purpose for obtaining **. [redacted]' credit report. Under section 1681b(a)(3)(A) of the FCRA, a consumer report may be obtained by a person who "intends to use the information in connection with a credit transaction involving the consumer on whom the information is to be furnished and involving the extension of credit to, or review or collection of an account of, the consumer." 15 U.S.C. § 1681b(a)(3)(A) (emphasis added).
Notification of the placement and of **. [redacted]' right to dispute the debt was mailed to her on or about January 10, 2016. On January 19, 2016, we received a phone call from **. [redacted]. During the call, she did state that the account was paid to Northland in 2013. The agent assisting **. [redacted] discovered record of the initial placement of the account and confirmed Northland directly received a payment of $60.08 on January 30, 2013. Based on the information provided to Northland by [redacted], there was record of a payment being applied to the account on February 6, 2013; however, this payment was not received or deposited by Northland.
As to the details **. [redacted] provided in her complaint pertaining to the February 28, 2013 payment, we have concluded that it was also not received or deposited by Northland. This is evident in the receipt she provided when the money gram was purchased on February 28, 2013. The receiver is noted as [redacted]. Northland is not affiliated with [redacted] and we would not have been made aware of a payment being received by them intended for the account in question. Unfortunately, we are also not in a position to directly contact [redacted] concerning a payment they may have received from **. [redacted].
Without additional information, we are unable to further assist in the investigation of this matter. In honor of **. [redacted]' request, Northland has ceased all collection efforts and returned the account to [redacted]'. In regard to credit reporting, Northland does not report any information to the credit reporting bureaus and has not reported the above account to **. [redacted]' credit profile. Furthermore, Northland cannot affect a change as to how any other company or entity may have reported the account.
For further information regarding the account, **. [redacted] may contact [redacted] directly at Citicorp Credit Services, Attn: Agency Customer Service, PO Box 20523, Kansas City, MO 64195.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 7, 2016/02/17) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I received correspondence from Revdex.com on 2/16/16 concerning the Northland's Group, Inc (NGI) response of my initial claim. I initiated the proactive communication and contacted the company mentioned in the closing remarks of NGI's response for information regardng the account. The correspondence confirmed my claim. There was no mention of such account showing any such claim of a debt being owed or of a past due balance or active account in their database - As stated in my initial complaint. I also had not received any correspondence from NGI in 2013 concerning that account. I am satisfied with NGI's resolution of ceasing all contact and collection efforts on behalf that claimed account.

Re: Revdex.com Complaint ID No. [redacted]
Dear Ms.[redacted]:
Northland Group, Inc. ("Northland") has obtained and reviewed your complaint filed through...

the Revdex.com ("Revdex.com"). Please accept this letter as our response to your complaint. The information contained in this response is personal and confidential.

We have reviewed our records and located an account in our office based on the information provided in your Revdex.com complaint. Your Revdex.com complaint states that you are the cosigner on your daughter's student loan and that you both received a collection notice from Northland regarding her student loan account. Your complaint further states that you believe that the letter you received was fraudulent. Finally, you request that any negative credit reporting be removed.
A review of the file indicates that it was referred to our office for collection on or about July 6, 2015. An initial notice was mailed to the address on file on or about July 6, 2015. On July 13, 2015[redacted] ("AES") received a payment for the past due amount on your daughter's student loan and subsequently, on July 14, 2015, the account was removed from our office and returned to AES for servicing.
A review of AES account notes indicates that your daughter, [redacted], placed an inbound call to an AES representative on July 14, 2015. The notes state that she informed the AES representative that she received a letter from Northland for a past due amount on her student loan. The AES representative advised her that [redacted] hires Northland as a collection agency if the loan is delinquent. We want to clarify that you are still a customer of [redacted] Bank. [redacted] transferred the servicing of your private student loan(s) to AES. AES is an entity that specializes in the servicing of student loans. When a consumer falls eight or more days behind in making payments, the account is transferred to our office for collection, which is what happened with your account.
Further review indicates that we received an inbound call from you on July 16, 2015 inquiring why you received a collection notice from Northland; however, you would not provide the representative with necessary identifying information. Please be advised that we are obligated to protect the privacy of our consumers. We are not permitted to disclose any personal information until we have verified that we are speaking with the correct party in order to avoid releasing private information with an unauthorized third party. Please be advised that Northland does not report to the credit bureaus. We do hope this response provides you with an understanding of our position.
Sincerely,

Re: [redacted], Revdex.com Case No.: [redacted]
Dear Mr. [redacted],
Northland Group, Inc....

("Northland") has obtained and reviewed the complaint filed through the Revdex.com by Ms. [redacted] regarding the above referenced account. Please accept this letter as our response to her complaint. The information contained in this response is personal and confidential.
In her complaint, Ms. [redacted] states Northland agreed to a payment of 50% of the balance to settle the above account which, she was told was approved by the creditor [redacted]. She states when she requested written confirmation of the agreement, Northland advised we needed to finalize some paperwork related to arrangement and would follow up with her. She states she did not receive a phone call from us thereafter and when she contacted our office the following day, she was then told the creditor in fact did not approve the 50% amount to resolve the account.
We appreciate being provided the opportunity to address this matter. We have reviewed our file as it pertains to Ms. [redacted]'s complaint. We do have a record of Ms. [redacted] offering half or 50% of the balance to resolve the account. Because the amount was below Northland's settlement authority, a request was submitted to the creditor seeking approval to accept the amount. A review of our file indicates on August 28, 2015, the creditor denied the request due to Ms. [redacted] being both a homeowner and employed. Unfortunately, the file was incorrectly noted as having been approved.
Due to this unfortunate oversight, the contact we had with Ms. [redacted] thereafter was in the continued effort to secure the 50% settlement payment. When Ms. [redacted] contacted our office on September 17, 2015 to obtain written confirmation of the agreement, it was then discovered by the agent that the 50% settlement offer had not been approved. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused Ms. [redacted].
To confirm, the account is now closed in our office and was returned to [redacted]. Additionally, Ms. [redacted]'s complaint is being addressed internally so that steps can be taken in the effort to avoid such occurrences in the future.
Sincerely,
Christina [redacted]

In his complaint Mr. [redacted] is requesting Northland provide validation of the above account so that he may determine if any fraud activity impacted the balance owing. He is also requesting the negative item associated with the account be removed from his credit profile and the card be re-activated for use.
We appreciate being provided the opportunity to assist Mr. [redacted] in resolving this matter.[redacted] (USA), N.A. ("[redacted]") placed the above account with Northland for collection on or about November 20, 2015. A second letter regarding the account was sent on or about January 18, 2016. We have no record of having had any direct communication from or with Mr. [redacted]. We were unaware of his dispute of the account until your notification of his complaint.
The information immediately available to our office indicates the account was opened via an online application on or about January 30, 2014. The last payment received was on or about March 24, 2015 for $25.00 and the account was charged off on or about October 14, 2015. The last three charges to the card viewable by our office were by "Netflix.com"; each for $8.64 on January 26, 2015, February 26, 2015, and March 26, 2015.
A request has been submitted to [redacted] for the responsive documentation related to the account. The information we receive will be forwarded to Mr. [redacted] upon our receipt. Furthermore, Northland cannot affect a change as to how any other company or entity may have reported the account. As well, the above account would not be eligible for reopening; however, Mr. [redacted] could contact [redacted] directly to explore the option of applying for a new line of credit with them.

contained in this response is personal and confidential.
We have reviewed our records and located an account in our office based on the information provided in your Revdex.com complaint. Your Revdex.com complaint states that you were never notified of your right to dispute the debt. Based on our review, on December , 2014, Northland sent you a letter at the above listed address advising that the account had been referred to its office for collection. The notice also advised you of your right to dispute the debt. One additional notice was mailed on April 3, 2015. Northland does not have a record of our initial notice or subsequent correspondence being returned or otherwise being undeliverable."
On April 14, 2015, we received an inbound call from you stating that you intend to pay the balance in full on the condition that any negative reporting is deleted from your credit report. At that time, you were advised that Northland does not report to the credit bureaus and has no control over the reporting of the original creditor. However, once a debt is paid in full with our office, Northland reports that debt as paid in full to the original creditor and upon request, will also mail a conditional debt release" letter.
To confirm, with your payment made to our office on April 20, 2015, the account is considered paid in full and has been reported to the creditor as such. We do hope this response provides you with an understanding of our position. On behalf of TD Bank, N.Target Card, thank you for resolving the account.

Dear Mr. [redacted],
Northland Group, Inc....

("Northland") has obtained and reviewed the complaint filed through the Revdex.com by Ms. [redacted]. Please accept this letter as our response to her complaint. The information contained in this response is personal and confidential.
In Ms. [redacted]'s complaint she states to have paid an account with our office for her husband and when she contacted our office to inquire about our credit reporting practices, she was rudely denied this information. We found record of having had two conversations with Ms. [redacted] by phone and found no merit to her allegation that an agent or manager with our office was in anyway unprofessional when speaking to her. On both contacts she was simply advised we would be unable to provide any information to her unless given permission by Mr. [redacted] to do so.
Although it is our desire to address Ms. [redacted]'s concern, Iowa state law dictates that we obtain permission from the consumer to speak with a spouse or any other third party. Currently our office has no record of having spoken with Mr. [redacted] and therefore, we are unfortunately still not in a position to divulge any information related to our company or its business practices.
We are more than happy to speak with Ms. [redacted] openly in the event that Mr. [redacted] provides us permission to do so. His authorization can be provided in writing to [redacted], Thorofare, NJ 08086, via fax to [redacted], or via phone toll free to [redacted].

We have reviewed our records and located an account in our office based on the information provided in your Revdex.com complaint. Your Revdex.com complaint states that you received a letter from Northland for a debt that you already paid.  Dear Mr. [redacted],
Northland Group, Inc. (“Northland”) has obtained and reviewed the complaint filed through the Revdex.com by Ms. [redacted] regarding the above referenced accounts. Please accept this letter as our response to her complaint. The information contained in this response is personal and confidential.
According to Ms. [redacted]’s complaint she has experienced some difficulty in working with Northland in her attempts to repay the above accounts. We appreciate the opportunity to address this matter and Ms. [redacted]’s continued desire to resolve the account(s) with our office.
We would first like to address Northland Reference Number [redacted]. The account was placed with our office for collection by [redacted] on or about April 7, 2015. A letter to advise of such and of Ms. [redacted]’s right to dispute the debt was mailed on or about April 9, 2015. Two additional notices were sent on or about May 13, 2015 and June 12, 2015. Thereafter, Northland received two payments of $50.00 by mail on June 26, 2015 and July 13, 2015. We also received a payment via our payment website for $50.00 on July 21, 2015. Prior to receipt of those payments, Northland had not had any communication from or with Ms. [redacted].
On August 25, 2015, thirty days had passed since we received payment and a notice advising of such was mailed to Ms. [redacted]. On September 1, 2015, Ms. [redacted] contacted our office by phone stating to believe she had set payments up to be automatically withdrawn. Although we had record of Ms. [redacted] accessing our payment website, our records indicated there were no postdated transactions scheduled by Ms. [redacted] following the July 21, 2015 payment. At that time, our agent offered to take Ms. [redacted]’s $50.00 monthly payments by phone. She would simply need to authorize the payments online through a link we would provide by email. Ms. [redacted] agreed to these terms and payments were to commence on September 21, 2015 and extend through August 21, 2016. In concluding the call, the agent attempted to provide Ms. [redacted] with a required script wherein she would permit Northland to contact her via email; however, the call suddenly ends. This unfortunately prevented the link from being emailed to Ms. [redacted] which ultimately resulted in the payments being terminated on the file. We have no record of having received a phone call from Ms. [redacted] or having spoken with her following September 1, 2015 on the file. Subsequently, the account was recalled from our office by [redacted] on or about October 15, 2015.
Regarding Northland Reference Number [redacted], the account was placed with Northland by [redacted] for collection on or about December 11, 2014. A letter to advise Ms. [redacted] of such and of her right to dispute the debt was mailed on or about December 13, 2014. Four additional notices were sent offering various payment options on or about January 16, 2015, February 15, 2015, March 17, 2015 and April 16, 2015.
On May 4, 2015, Northland received the first payment of a twelve pay settlement agreement in response to our April 16, 2015 letter. Payments were regularly received by mail through August 2015. Ms. [redacted] made her September and October 2015 payments via our free payment by phone service. On November 23, 2015, Ms. [redacted] contacted our office by phone and authorized automatic withdrawals from her debit card through March 2016 which would satisfy the settlement agreement. Payments posted as agreed on November 23, 2015 and December 20, 2015.
On January 15, 2016, we received a call from Ms. [redacted] advising the debit card she had payments being deducted from was lost and she needed to provide new card information for payments going forward. At that time, Northland had payments scheduled for January 20, 2016, February 20, 2016 and March 20, 2016. The agent assisting Ms. [redacted] deleted the payments reflecting the old card information and re-set a payment for January 20, 2016 with the new card information. Unfortunately, a review of the call in question indicates resetting postdated payments for February and March was not discussed. Nonetheless, we can most certainly understand Ms. [redacted]’s assumption that they would have been.
With that being said, we obtained permission from [redacted] to continue with the original settlement agreement. Ms. [redacted] has since contacted our office and we can confirm the account is now closed as settled in full and will be returned to [redacted] as such. A letter confirming the resolution of the account will follow this response separately and directly to Ms. [redacted] by mail. If she should have any additional questions or concerns she may contact our office toll free at ###-###-####. On behalf of Citibank, N.A and Northland, we thank Ms. [redacted] for her patience and for resolving the account.
We are required to inform Ms. [redacted] of the following: [redacted] will report any discharge of indebtedness as required by the Internal Revenue Code and corresponding IRS regulations. Please contact your tax advisor if you have any questions.

Sincerely, Christina [redacted] Resolution Coordinator

Dear Mr. [redacted],
Northland Group, Inc. ("Northland") has obtained and reviewed the complaint filed through the Revdex.com by Ms. [redacted] regarding the above referenced account. Please accept this letter as our response to her complaint. The information contained in this response is personal and confidential.
According to Ms. [redacted]'s complaint, she has continued to contest the above account due to it having been established without her knowledge or permission. It is requested by Ms. [redacted] that we refrain from further contact with her regarding the matter and remove the account from her credit profile.
For Ms. [redacted]'s records, [redacted] placed the above account with Northland for collection on or about April 14, 2015. Northland sent Ms. [redacted] a letter to advise her of such and of her right to dispute the debt on or about April 15, 2015. The information provided to Northland by [redacted] indicates the account was opened on or about April 3, 2010. The last payment received was on or about August 13, 2014 and the account was charged off on or about March 18, 2015.
Please note, prior to your notification of her complaint, Northland had no direct communication with or from Ms. [redacted] and therefore; were unaware of her dispute of the account. However, a review of the file revealed the creditor had previously investigated the account for fraud and found no merit to Ms. [redacted]'s claim. In regards to credit reporting, Northland is not credit reporting agency and has not reported the above account to Ms. [redacted]'s credit profile. Furthermore, Northland cannot affect a change as to how any other company or entity may have reported the account.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I had responded to this company numerous times. I also responded to Citibank and they can see I filed a formal fraud complaint and to pull the application, the receipts, etc.. and it will prove this is not my signature, not my purchases and is not my account. I am going to start suing all these companies for their illegal collection tactics and harassing an elderly sick woman who has been not only lost her husband of almost 40 years but now her to find out he stole my identity too and that it is only about the money and not the actual justice. They all need to pull those records and see for themselves this is not my debt. I've already won several suits as they were able to see these accounts were opened fraudulently.

Dear Mr. [redacted],
Northland Group, Inc. ("Northland") has obtained and reviewed the complaint filed through the Revdex.com by Ms. [redacted] regarding the above referenced account. Please accept this letter as our response to her complaint. The information contained in this response is personal and confidential.
Based on the review of our file, Ms. [redacted] did engage in a three pay settlement agreement with our office on December 31, 2014. Payments in the amount of $51.12 were secured by phone and scheduled to post on December 30, 2014, January 30, 2015, and February 28, 2015. The December payment posted to the account as agreed. On January 6, 2015, [redacted]'s recalled the account from our office which, resulted in the final two payments being deleted from our system. However, Northland submitted a request to have the file placed back with our office so that we could continue assisting Ms. [redacted] with the resolution of the debt. [redacted]'s agreed to continue to allow Northland to service the account and replaced the file with our office on or about January 14, 2015.
On January 14, 2015, Northland reached Ms. [redacted] by telephone and advised her of the recent events on the file and sought to secure the final two payments by phone as they were originally scheduled. Ms. [redacted] advised she did not have her checking account information available at that time and asked the agent to follow up with her the following day. Northland was unsuccessful in making contact with Ms. Grover immediately thereafter. A payment reminder was sent on or about January 22, 2015 requesting payment in the amount of $51.12 on or before January 30, 2015. Northland did not receive contact or payment from Ms. [redacted] by January 30, 2015 and a notice of the past due payment was issued by mail on or about February 4, 2015.
On February 10, 2015, Northland received a phone call from Ms. [redacted] at which time she made her second payment of three to settle the account by phone. It was agreed at that time that she would contact our office on or before February 28, 2015 to make the last payment. Again, a payment reminder notice was sent to Mr. [redacted] on or about February 17, 2015 requesting her final payment in the amount of $51.12 to be paid on or before February 28, 2015. As we did not hear back from Ms. [redacted] by the requested payment date, a settlement cancel notification was sent to her by mail on or about March 12, 2015.
Nonetheless, as previously stated, we would like to assist Ms. [redacted] with the continued resolution of the account. As such, we can accept her final payment of $51.12 to settle the account if paid to our office on or before May 15, 2015. Make check payable to DSNB. The payment can be made via our free check by phone service by calling toll free to [redacted] or via our website at www.payments2northland.com. We do hope Ms. [redacted] finds this as a satisfactory resolution to this matter.
Sincerely,

Dear Mr. [redacted],
Northland Group, Inc. ("Northland") has obtained and reviewed the complaint filed through the Revdex.com by Ms. [redacted] regarding the above referenced account. Please accept this letter as our response to her complaint. The information contained in this response is personal and confidential.
According to Ms. [redacted]'s complaint, the above account was settled in full with payment in the amount of $400.00; however, she has received a bill from our office requesting additional funds. She is requesting we provide a zero balance confirmation and that we correct her credit report. If we cannot comply, she is requesting a refund in the amount of $400.00.
Based on the review of our file, it appears Ms. [redacted] entered into an agreement by phone with Northland on May 22, 2015 to settle the above account in a one-time payment of $400.00. On June 5, 2015 Northland received payment in the amount of $200.00. Being the dollar amount received was not the agreed upon amount a notice was sent to Ms. [redacted] by mail requesting additional funds. Subsequently on June 17, 2015, a second payment of $200.00 was received which satisfied the agreed amount. Accordingly, the file was closed in our office as settled and returned to our client. A confirmation of such was issued to Ms. [redacted] by mail by our office on or about June 24, 2015.
In regards to credit reporting, Northland does not report any information to the credit reporting bureaus and has not reported the above account to Ms. [redacted]'s credit profile. Furthermore, we cannot affect a change as to how any other company or entity may have reported the account. If Ms. [redacted] should require additional information as to the status of the account, we encourage her to contact [redacted] (USA), N.A. directly at [redacted], Attn: 12077-0370, Richmond, VA 23238.

Dear Mr. [redacted],
Northland Group, Inc. ("Northland") has obtained and reviewed the complaint filed through the Revdex.com by Mr. [redacted] regarding the above referenced account. Please accept this letter as our response to his complaint. The information contained in this response is personal and confidential.
In his complaint, Mr. [redacted] states Northland advised him that if he paid the above account, it would be removed from his credit profile. He is requesting the derogatory item related to the account be immediately removed with all three major credit reporting agencies.
Northland has reviewed its file as it pertains to Mr. [redacted]'s claim. [redacted] ("PCS") placed the account with Northland for collection on or about January 13, 2014. Our first record of contact with Mr. [redacted] was on July 10, 2014 when he phoned our office in response to a settlement offer he had received by mail.
During the phone call, Mr. [redacted] agreed to complete a $288.78 settlement amount in six monthly payments of $48.13. In discussing payment, Mr. [redacted] did raise the question as to if the account could be removed from the credit bureaus once paid. He was informed at that time that Northland is not a credit reporting agency and that our office would simply issue a letter by mail confirming resolution of the account. He was also advised that any applicable credit reporting updates would be controlled by PCS.
Following our phone call from Mr. [redacted], all six payments of $48.13 were received in a timely manner resulting in the account being closed in our office as settled on January 5, 2015. As promised, confirmation of such was issued to Mr. [redacted] by mail on or about January 12, 2015.
We received no further communication from Mr. [redacted] until recently by phone on January 22, 2016. During the call, Mr. [redacted] claimed the above account was still reporting to his credit profile despite being advised by Northland that it would be removed if paid. Northland's agents again advised that Northland is not a credit reporting agency and that PCS would manage the update to the associated tradeline. Mr. [redacted] confirmed the account was reporting as paid on his credit profile but, continued to assert that it should have been removed.
In summary, we can confirm Northland's agents did not advise Mr. [redacted] that the above account would be removed from his credit profile if paid. Furthermore, Northland does not have the ability or authorization to impact a change as to how or if the account is being reported to his credit profile. We do hope this response provides him with an understanding of our position.
Sincerely,

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It's not the credit bureau that's reporting the information. It's the debt collector. The credit bureaus stated I need to contact the collection agencies to have it removed. If pinnacle is a collection agency, and Northland is a collection agency. Who really owns this debt? Northland Group or Pinnacle? I have never heard of two collection agencies collecting on the same account. Northland group collected the debt, but pinnacle reports. Makes no sense, just a bunch of hot air. Weather I accept or don't accept their answer there is nothing that I can do. I'm being forced to accept their fluff.

Dear Mr. [redacted],
Northland Group, Inc. ("Northland") has obtained and reviewed the complaint filed through the Revdex.com by Mr. [redacted]. Please accept this letter as our response to his complaint. The information contained in this response is personal and confidential.
Based on his most recent complaint, there appears to be some confusion on Mr. [redacted]'s part as far who owns the debt and or would have the ability to remove the account from his credit profile as he so desires. Thank you for affording Northland the opportunity to receive Mr. [redacted]'s feedback and respond to his concerns.
To confirm, Northland does not and has not had any ownership rights to the account. Northland is a third-party collection agency and [redacted] ("PCS") placed the account with Northland to collect the outstanding balance due. The account was placed with Northland by PCS on or about January 13, 2014.
As to credit reporting, Northland is not a credit reporting agency and Northland does not have the ability to credit report an account. Further, Northland has no ability or authorization to impact a change on Mr. [redacted]'s credit profile, or otherwise delete an account from Mr. [redacted]'s credit profile.
Please be advised, PCS has confirmed they too have received direct contact from Mr. [redacted] concerning the credit reporting of the account and he was advised by them that the account would not be deleted. It is our understanding PCS also responded to a Trans Union credit bureau dispute and confirmed the account was paid and would not be deleted. We do hope this response provided Mr. [redacted] with clarification he sought regarding ownership of the account.

Northland Group, Inc. ("Northland")...

has obtained and reviewed the complaint filed through the Revdex.com by Mr. [redacted]. Please accept this letter as our response to his complaint. The information contained in this response is personal and confidential.
According to his complaint, Mr. [redacted] states Northland continues to call his cell phone number [redacted] despite having been advised by our agency that we would remove his number from our database.
We appreciate being afforded the opportunity to address this matter. Our investigation regarding revealed Northland did make attempts to Mr. [redacted]'s telephone number of [redacted]. Our first recorded contact with Mr. [redacted] was on August 6, 2015. During the phone call, he advised the telephone number of [redacted] was incorrect for the male we were intending to reach. Following the phone call, his number was updated to prevent any future phone calls to his telephone number on the file.
Subsequently, in December 2015 another file was placed with our office which also listed [redacted] as a contact number for the party (a female). This unfortunately resulted in an additional contact with Mr. [redacted] on January 12, 2016 wherein he again advised that the telephone number was incorrect for the second individual.
Following our contact with Mr. [redacted] on January 12, 2016, Northland placed an internal block on the telephone number. This will prevent the number from being dialed in the future. We do hope Mr. [redacted] finds this response satisfactory as a resolution to this matter.

I will not accept this letter as a resolution. Documented proof that my number is now on a blocked list will be the only resolution I will accept. After all, to date, the company has given their word several times that I would not be called again.

Original Creditor: [redacted] Original Account No.: [redacted]  Dear Ms. [redacted],
Northland Group, Inc. (“Northland”) has obtained and reviewed the complaint filed through the Revdex.com by Mr. [redacted] regarding the above referenced account. Please accept this letter as our response to his complaint. The information contained in this response is personal and confidential.
According to his complaint, Mr. [redacted] is receiving communication from our office regarding an account that does not belong to him. Further, Mr. [redacted] states to have never had any business dealing with the original creditor and believes to have been a victim of identity theft.
We appreciate Mr. [redacted]’s feedback regarding the account and the opportunity to address his concerns. For his records, the account in question has been placed with our office for collection on two separate occasions. It was first placed on December 3, 2014. Northland sent a letter to advise Mr. [redacted] of such on or about December 5, 2014. The notice also advised him of his right to dispute the debt. We did not receive any communication from Mr. [redacted] during the validation period. One additional letter was sent to Mr. [redacted] on or about January 8, 2015 which also yielded no response. Subsequently, the account was recalled from our office on or about March 27, 2015.
The account was just recently placed with our office for collection a second time on or about November 2, 2016. A letter to advise Mr. [redacted] of such and of his right to dispute the debt was mailed on or about December 5, 2016. We did not receive a response from Mr. [redacted] and a second attempt to communicate with him was mailed on or about January 9, 2017.
Prior to your notification of Mr. [redacted]’s complaint filed with the Revdex.com, Northland had not received a direct dispute of the account from Mr. [redacted] nor have we or our client received any documents to support his claim.
Nonetheless, Northland has ceased its collection efforts and returned the file to our client. It is our understanding that in the interest of good customer service, they have as well closed the account in their system and terminated all collection efforts. We do hope Mr. [redacted] finds this response satisfactory as a resolution to this matter.
