Northtown Auto Liquidators Reviews (24)

I bought a 2004 ford f-150 I was told the truck was in good running shape, the truck was driven to my home by salesman. when I started the truck the next morning for the first time the engine trouble light came on, went to the dealership 3 times and they told me they would fix it, then after the third time they said they weren't responsible attempt 1. "they said it only needed a fuel additive" attempt 2. 'they said it would cost 400.00 to fix" attempt 3. 'they told me to go ahead and call a lawyer because they weren't going to fix anything." They also told me at the beginning, "I would not follow though because it wasn't worth the trouble to do so."

Classic bait and switch attempted today at Northtown Auto Liquidators. Ad price for a 2012 truck was confirmed via three phone calls on 11/13. Arrived for a test drive on 11/14 after a 2 hour drive from home. Completed test drive, was told the vehicle was actually a 2013 and was available for $5,500 more. Or, there was a similar 2012 truck in-stock with 40K more miles on it for the price advertised for the truck that I test drove. Different truck, different color, yet the dealer claims it was a mistake and intended to include the 2012 truck in the advertisement. The advertisement has not yet been changed to correct this 'mistake'.

Review: In 2012, I purchased a Chevy Trailblazer from Northtown Auto Liquidators in Spokane, WA on Division Street. I put a down payment of $2,500 down. The day after I bought the vehicle it started smelling of gas and was leaking gas so I contacted the dealership and told them about the problem and told them that I would like my down payment back because the vehicle was leaking gas which was dangerous. They insisted I bring the vehicle to their auto mechanic. So the next few days I brought the vehicle to their mechanic and the mechanic was never in so I drove it back to the dealership and told them that I was bringing the vehicle back and would like my down payment back because I am not going to buy a car that is leaking gas and is dangerous. The dealership owner's was rude to me and my boyfriend. He started yelling at us in front of our young children and blamed us for scratching up the car which we brought him out to the car to prove their was NO scratches. While we were at the dealership the bank that was going to finance us backed out of financing us for the vehicle so the dealerships owner took the vehicle back but he also KEPT my down payment of $2,500. I only had the vehicle for at most 2 weeks. Well today, 3 years later, I got a letter from a collection agency stating that I owe Northtown Auto Liquidators $2,622.82. This is MY FIRST letter of notification from this dealership. They have not made any notification attempts since Nov. 2012 when I got the vehicle and when I also RETURNED the vehicle. I DO NOT believe that I OWE THEM ANY MONEY. I believe that THEY OWE ME my down payment back and I also don't believe that I should owe ANYTHING to collections for a vehicle I DO NOT HAVE.Desired Settlement: I would like to get my down payment of $2,500 back. And I would also like the collection agency to disregard the amount they THINK I owe them.

Review: Hello,

On 06/28/2014 I test drove a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee at Northtown Auto Liquidators. Afterwords I filled out their application. Then I met with the finance manager [redacted] who told me that I was approved for loan with a 48 month term at 14.990% apr, but that they were going to try and obtain a better apr for me. I then signed the contract and agreed to a $1,500.00 down payment. One week later they contacted me stating that the finance company needed to talk to me which I agreed to. The finance company called me twice while I was at work. I called back both times and left a voice mail each time. I did not hear back from the finance company after that. Two weeks later I received an impolite voice mail from Northtown Auto Liquidators stating that I needed to contact them immediately. I called back the same day and left a voice mail. On Monday 08/04/2014 my wife called me when I was working and told me someone was at the house to reposes the vehicle. The contract stated the first payment wasn't due until 08/11/2014. The tow company contacted me and stated that they needed to pick up the vehicle. When I asked why they said because they weren't able to approve the financing. I then called the dealership and told them I could drop the vehicle off when I got off work and asked if they could please return my down payment. Nick the general manager said "we'll talk when you get here. " I returned the vehicle as promised after I left work that afternoon. When I handed Nick the keys he said there's no way I was going to receive the down payment back because I had possession of the vehicle for 45 days.

I would've never given them a $1,500.00 deposit for a vehicle that might not get financed. I signed the contract under the impression that that was exactly what it was, a contract. To place a deposit on something that you might not receive is a big gamble. As they advertise, statements like "WE FINANCE ANYONE!" and "WE FINANCE! GOOD, BAD, NO CREDIT...NO PROBLEM!" they were misleading from the start.

I work a full time job and my wife currently stays at home with our child. That was our only form of transportation and this experience put us in a very unpleasant financial situation.

RE: [redacted], Case # [redacted]

Resolution Moderator: [redacted]

To: Whom it may Concern

In response to the complaint issued by [redacted], he purchased a vehicle from us at Northtown Auto on June 28th 2014. A common occurrence when purchasing a vehicle is that the Lender speaks personally with the customer to verify certain information. Unfortunately, the lender in this case was unable to get a hold of him. They have documentation regarding the several times they tried to contact him. Although we appreciate [redacted] as a customer, his non-communication with the lender, left us in a bad position especially since we were trying to call him too. We also have documentation of our phone calls. Neither the lender nor us were able to talk with [redacted]. Finally, after almost 45 days of not hearing back from him we had no choice but to hire a Repossession company to get our unpaid vehicle back. It was only then that [redacted] finally returned our phone call.

We did resolve the issue with him in a matter of a few minutes. We are thankful that [redacted] finally contacted us!

We appreciate the opportunity to let our side of the story be heard.

Sincerely,

Northtown Auto Liquidators
