NYC Private Rooms Incorporated Reviews (28)

Review: On Thursday, June [redacted] 2015 I applied online to schedule an 1:30pm appointment with NYC Private Rooms. I received a text message to confirm my appointment and visit their Manhattan Midtown office located at [redacted]. I received a text message for my appointment was confirmed. After I received the poor customer service and the half services, I requested for a refund. The services that are advertised on the "NYC Private Rooms for Rent immediately" website are misleading to the customers that are seeking for assistance to rent rooms on a weekly or monthly basis.

I paid a registration fee of $150 to gain access to the exclusive NYC Private Rooms for Rent Immediately database to search for weekly room listings located in Queens. The receptionist (unknown name no business card provided) stated to me that I had to pay the registration fee and then she would proceed with providing me with numbers to call to schedule appointments for weekly rooms. She also mentioned that I make appointments to see as many rooms of my choice and pay the weekly rent payments directly to the owner once I chose a room. At first, I was skeptical of going forward but I I paid for services that I did not receive.

Another receptionist (no name) was at the desk and took my $150. I was waiting for her to give me the list of room contacts but she was not willing to assist me. She told me that I had to log in on a computer and do everything myself. The website clearly states that a determined agent will assist you but no one really assisted me.

A personal user name and password was given to me. After the first receptionist came back to the office that handled my appointment, she started to get frustrated with providing more details and answers to my questions. The other receptionist walked away from the counter and took my money. The receptionist told me that she had to have lunch she will set me up with a password no computers were available for usage to do searches once I was logged in I had to leave her office and call her if I had questions. Her actions were rude and displayed no consideration at all for The customer. I felt like I was being scammed for my money. I wanted to resolve this matter but you cannot get back into the building without a visitor pass. When you call the office number ###-###-#### no one answers the phone. Unprofessional. The site says 100% guaranteed placement rooms ready immediately. Not true. I also went to see a room listed on the site in queens and went to meet the owner but she knew nothing about the NYC Private Rooms for Rent Immediately. She told me not to let people scam you and there was no need to pay for a service when searching for rooms. Plus the site this company signed me up for was monthly not weekly. The website for the room search was also outdated not updated hourly and owners who preferred females only. These services were not official.Desired Settlement: I have contacted the business and made two attempts to resolve the issue by via email, telephone and on person regarding the the false advertisement scam and request my registration cash payment of $150 but I was left on hold and the rude receptionist never came back on the phone. I made several attempts to contact the NYC Private Rooms for Rent office but after the receptionist identified who I was initially and she refused to answer the phone and put on the answering machine which does not state the business name. The customer service I received was poor and customers should not have to tolerate this type of service. The company does not answer phone calls only text messages. I sent a text message explaining the issues and inconsistencies and the response from the company states "NO REFUND" I asked them to contact me and not even a courtesy phone call was received. Overall, I would like to request $150 refund and want Revdex.com to make other rentor customers aware of scam businesss like NYC Private Rooms for Rent Immediately. I will never do business with this company again. Time and Money wasted and the business does not care about their customers. Thank you for your understanding.

Review: NYC Private Bedrooms advertised that they provide a list (for a fee of $150) of available rooms for rent in Brooklyn. After I paid the fee a received the list of rooms/numbers - I learned that many of the posts were fraudulent or inaccurate. On the same day within 15 minutes I called NYC Private Bedrooms to explain the situation and they put me on hold for 40 minutes. When I tried to call back, my calls went directly to voicemail.Desired Settlement: 150 refund in cash

Review: This company advertise that with one fee of $200 that you would get a list of rooms for rent here in NYC and nothing else is needed. However, when I got there it was totally not true!! You must first pay the $200 before they even answer your questions. Then they make you sign a fake application that is not needed because they have no rooms actually available in their company. They instead refer to another company Name [redacted] on [redacted] and [redacted] that requires no referrals. So I had to leave from this location on [redacted] and [redacted] and go uptown to another company to pay them another $150 that wasn't in the advertisement of NYC Private Rooms Inc. This is definitely a bait to get you and then switch on you once you're in or have paid them the $200.Desired Settlement: I would demand my money back that I felt scammed out of as well as an apology. They should have a more clear and accurate advertisement of the product, which in actuality they don't even have because they don't have rooms!!

Review: This is a scam. They had me pay for a service that promised to find me a place to live. I was only given access to a database and told to call the people on the list,. The numbers I called were either disconnected, foreign numbers or no one heard of this place. I was not able to get anyone from the company to help me further, wouldn't take my calls or call me back. I asked for my money back and was told I wasn't allowed to call them nor was I allowed back into their office.Desired Settlement: I would like $150 returned to me

Review: The company is a scam. They give you information of people they did not make agreements with. And show you places that are not for rent.Desired Settlement: Refund of $150 and to stop them from doing this.

Review: I juan thompson had went to this fake place that I found online to rent out a room when I get there this place tells me that they have what I'm looking for and told me all I needed to do was pay them 200 Dallas and they will find it for me well long story short they didn't find me anything and they don't have anything that I was looking for they sent me to two other places that will pretty much Rob you for another $200 so I go back to this place to get my 200Dallas back and they are given me the run around I've been trying to contact the manager for the last two weeks I've left them text message I've left voice mail I've even called he's cell phone and no one ever answers I call the office and the girls that work there give you attitude and curse you out then hang up on you This place is not a real place of business it's a scheme to Rob you for your money im still looking for a place to live and I need my money back asapDesired Settlement: Getting my monthly back

Review: I given the agency a non-refundable fee of $200 only to be sent another agency located in [redacted] and at that location, the people there were unprofessional. They kept people waiting while they were also waiting to find a place to rent. I spoke with a woman at the [redacted] agency called "American Plaza" Located on [redacted]. I was given 2 apartments to check out by 2 owners. I called both owners the following day and neither responded to my calls. I heard from agency as well and they never got back to me as far as looking for a new place. They also took my money which I gave them $175 for first weeks rent of apartments I never got to check out. I will never go to these agencies again. They are unprofessional and they false advertise to take money from those that work hard in order to live comfortably.Desired Settlement: These agencies are very unprofessional and running a scam on people. They shouldn't do that to hardworking people.

Review: I am a single mother looking for a room to live in. So I looked up this agency and made an appointment. They told me to pay up front $200 for an office fee so they can send me to the real estate broker. When I paid I received a paper with all of the real estate information. I went to the real estate agent by 11:50am and didn't see anyone until almost 3pm. The real estate told me that the agency didn't even call to let them know that I was looking for a room. I need to be near my son school and the real estate agency said that she didn't have any rooms near my preference location. The real estate agent told me that she only had rooms near the 6 train and not near my desired location for the desired price. She also said that there are no rooms available with an adult and child for 175. NYC Private rooms states on their website that the rent is 150 for a single person and 25 dollars extra with a child. But she only has rooms for 200. I had called this agency and the lady gave me the other address to another real estate. But she put me on hold in the middle of giving me the address. I was on hold for 18 minutes listening to music. It took me an whole hour to get in touch with the lady at this agency. By the time I got in touch with someone I already swiped my metrocard going back to the office. The lady at the agency got on the phone and said she "told" me that I needed to go to the other agency. But how could I go to the other agency when I didn't get the full address. I went to this NYC private rooms and she told me that she is the manager. I ended up leaving since she walked out and security told me to leave the office until she came back. I came back after an hour and I was so emotional. She gave me back 150 but I am still waiting on the last 50. This is a terrible business.Desired Settlement: I want my 50 back plus free service finding a room near my desired location. I want better customer service or this place shut down.

Response:

At this time, I have been contacted directly by NYC Private Rooms Incorporated regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The business called me but the receptionist called my phone at 8pm telling me that her manager was going to call me. With that said she told me to tell the manager that my husband (which I am not married) that he applied for the room. They deleted the man application for whatever reason. Last week I went to go pick up my money and they didn't have any cash. I just want my money.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Consumer
