Smooth Transaction
My and husband and I purchased a brand new home from Oevering Homes and it was a very good experience. The communication was excellent, the home was completed on time and the finished product was amazing.

Oevering Homes Sincerely apologizes for any frustration that this homeowner may have experienced.  We have made contact with this homeowner, and a new door has been ordered.  As soon as this new door comes in, we will schedule a time to come out to the home and install the door.  We...

would like to instruct these homeowners that if they do not get a response from Oevering associates at anytime, to please contact the office and speak with the general manager directly.  We do have a warranty supervisor that is dedicated to completing warranty work and we are committed to providing high quality warranty craftsmanship and service.  Thank you.

I am writing in regards to complaint # [redacted]. Our computer has been in the shop and have just gotten it back. That last email regarding this complaint. The day after I got the complaint in late august. I talked to the contractor about oevering homes. And he said that was a big lie what oevering homes said about me. That he would (contractor) would not return to our home. the contractor told oevering homes I was not happy with them. But as far as me the contractor goes. I have no problem with you [redacted] and I would return to your home any time. And we had a good discussion. It just goes to show you that Revdex.com gives oevering homes such a great rating and they are nothing but a pack of liars and Revdex.com  has not helped us get anything done. We have a brand new home with squeaky floors by a terrible contractor and our neighbors have written to Revdex.com about them also. Oevering homes And they have not honored there warranty

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] The door was installed upside down. The rep [redacted] from and M&I windows pointed it out. and yes it is upside down.  With it upside down.[redacted] showed me how to pull the track down and reverse it or else the screen will not work. I started pulling the tract down to show the carpenter and they continued doing it. Oevering is nothing but a pack of liars. The floor squeaks have returned. They said in the beginning they screw and glue the floors . They don't . They glue and nail them. The new neighbors down the road are having trouble with oevering also. I got all the emails to prove it. they tried getting more money out of us saying erosion, overage on gravel. overage on permits. Believe me they are not a good contractor to do business with. The door was installed upside down and that is why the tract has to be moved to the bottom also in order for the screen to work. And our floor issue is still not resolved.
Regards,
[redacted]

We understand that this homeowner is frustrated and we certainly apologize for the delay and their frustration.  We have a warranty supervisor that is dedicated to following this through to completion for this homeowner.  A door was ordered and there was an issue with the replacement door during the installation process.  We will continue to work with this homeowner until this door is replaced.  We assure them that we have ordered a door, and we will be setting up a time to to install as soon as the door arrives.  We also would like to stress that if the homeowner has any concerns or questions to contact the office directly and speak with our warranty supervisor or general manager.  We assure them that Oevering Homes will follow through and provide them with their new door.  Thank you.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer reviewed appear below. We have been in contact with several people at Oevering Homes and they've all told us that "a new door has been ordered". We tried resolving this on our own for a year and a half without success . I've taken several vacation days from work to have people come out for warranty work, as they would not accommodate our work schedules (coming at 5PM). Due to their history of not following through with us, I will not accept their response until the proper door is installed and the work is complete . I'm highly disappointed with them - especially since we are returning customers.

In response the complaint regarding the Contract Disputes: Oevering Homes, LLC has gone above and beyond industry expectations and industry standards for the homeowners at this residence.  Each of our employees and contractors that have completed work for this homeowner have exceeded...

expectations, and we fully support and are proud of the conduct of each of our employees and contractors.  We stand behind and support our contractors, employees, and sales representatives that have worked hard to fulfill the expectations of this homeowner.  In addition our employees and contractors have been forced to endure inhumane treatment form this homeowner.  Oevering employees and contractors have been consistently screamed at, cursed at, threatened, and treated in a completely unprofessional and in an inhumane manner by this homeowner.  Even under these circumstances our employees and contractors have persevered and provided excellent workmanship and conduct in the face of persecution by this homeowner.  This homeowner has consistently harassed our employees and representatives even to the degree of numerous phone calls at all hours of the evening with no respect to their personal time and lives with their families.  Oevering Homes, LLC will no longer communicate with the homeowner under these conditions.  We cannot rightfully tolerate this kind of behavior to our employees and contractors.  In addition, we will not subject our employees or contractors to this kind of work environment.    We will address each of the items in the complaint as follows: In regards to Oevering Homes Agent making a negative comment regarding the homeowner behavior: Our agent was engaged within a professional and confidential conversation with the buyer’s agent in regards to the homeowner’s behavior towards and treatment of Oevering Homes’ employees and contractors.  His purpose in communication was to inform the buyer’s agent of the homeowner’s behavior as well as encourage the buyer’s agent to persuade the buyers to change how they were treating Oevering Homes employees and contractors.  Our Sales agent’s communication was accurate and respectful in light of the situation, and we stand behind their professional communication in regards to this delicate situation. In regards to unpaid contracts:  Oevering Homes carries 60 day terms with all of our contractors.  The buyers closed on this house on December 11, 2015.  Regarding the Reverse Osmosis and Nitrate Removal system:  On December 11th a reverse osmosis water filtration was installed at one location in the kitchen.  This system was not satisfactory for the homeowners so it was agreed that Oevering Homes, LLC would install a whole house Nitrate Removal system.  These systems are not kept in stock by our water treatment provider, so the system was not installed until it came in which was within two weeks of closing.  At this time a new bill was issued.  If the bill was sent to the homeowner instead of Oevering Homes, this was done so improperly.  Oevering Homes is well within the terms that we carry with our contractors.  This bill will be paid within the terms.  In regards to the vendor having the homeowners contact information, this was so they could contact the homeowner for the installation of the product.  In addition they will need to contact the homeowners to facilitate the replacement of the specialized nitrate removal system filters when needed so that the system is maintained and does not fail.    Regarding the Radon Mitigation System: It was agreed upon that the seller would install a passive Radon Mitigation System.  Oevering Home’s had their plumbing contractor submit a bid for $900.00.  The buyers wanted to use their own contractor to install an active Radon Mitigation System.  It was agreed that the Oevering Homes would pay $900.00 towards their active system installation.  This explains why the homeowners may have received an invoice for this system.  It is the buyer’s responsibility to pay their portion of the installation, not Oevering Homes.  Oevering Homes did receive an invoice on the date of November 13, 2015 for their portion of the system.  A check was written and sent to the Radon Mitigation System Installer on January 13th.      Regarding the time frame and status of work to be completed: Oevering Homes completely understands the expectations of purchasing a new home.  This home was a model home, and there was a list of items that the homeowner requested to be completed.  Oevering Homes did work to complete this list prior to closing.  However, at the walk through on the day of closing the homeowners added several items to the list.  At this point in time a new list was developed and it was agreed upon that the items on the list would be completed within a seven day period.  Oevering Homes did work extremely hard to complete this list within the allocated time period.  However, while contractors were scheduled to complete work within the allocated time period, the homeowner would not let the contractors into the home to complete the work.  This made it impossible to meet this seven day timeline.  Oevering Homes was as accommodating as possible, and all the items on the list were completed within 12 days instead of 7 because we did not have access to the home.  Regarding the function of the Garage service door, three separate Oevering Homes employees did evaluate this door and concluded that the door is functioning properly.  There is a tight seal on the door, so it is imperative that the homeowners shut this door tightly.  The tight seal is necessary on all exterior doors to prevent air infiltration.  If the doors did not have a tight seal, air would penetrate though the weak seal, and cause greater issues.  We will not replace this door as it is functioning how it was designed.  In conclusion, Oevering Homes apologizes for not having this final list completed prior to closing.  In addition we apologize that we fell short of this homeowners expectations.  Oevering Homes is dedicated and committed to providing high quality homes, and doing it through an enjoyable process.  Both of the bills have been paid, and if the homeowner desires proof of payment, they are welcome to contact the vendors for confirmation of payment.  If the payments have not been received as of this point in time on January 14, 2016, then we ask them to be patient, and to maybe try in a couple days to allow time for the mail to arrive.

Please accept this letter as the response of Oevering Homes, LLC to the most recentcorrespondence submitted by Mr. [redacted]. Unless specifically directed by your officeto submit additional correspondence or communication regarding this matter, the undersignedintends for this letter to be the final submission by Oevering Homes, LLC.In an effort to avoid redundancy, this response is intended to address the most recent issuesraised by Mr. [redacted], and will not summarize all prior correspondence submitted by the parties.1. The Warranty Addendum previously submitted by the undersigned contains specificlanguage that "Builder agrees to provide to Buyer upon completion of construction andpayment in full of all amounts due to Builder, a home warranty in compliance with thestate of Wisconsin warranty requirements."2. Mr. [redacted] has refused to pay to Oevering Homes, LLC all amounts due and owing. Mr.[redacted] occupied the residence in question for 4 months prior to closing. OeveringHomes, LLC and Mr. [redacted] agreed that fair market rent would be paid for this earlyoccupancy period. Mr. [redacted], after closing, has now taken the position that rent is notowed, despite having entered into a previous agreement whereby he agreed that rentwould be paid.3. Contrary to what Mr. [redacted] alleges, the delays associated with closing were not the resultof any action or inaction on the part of Oevering Homes, LLC. Rather, upon informationand belief~ Mr. [redacted] had difficulty obtaining financing for the property, and as a sign ofgood faith, Oevering Homes, LLC allowed early occupancy, which is contrary to itsgeneral policy regarding this very issue.4. Mr. [redacted] has demonstrated his clear disregard for the verbal agreement entered into byand between the parties by failing to pay all amounts due to Oevering Homes, LLC. As aresult, and due to Mr. [redacted]'s conduct, his warranty is void pursuant to the terms andconditions of the written agreement on file with the Revdex.com.5. As indicated in prior communication to Mr. [redacted], Oevering Homes, LLC remains ready, willing and able to stand behind the warranty provided that Mr. [redacted] abides by thecontract entered into by the parties, and pays Oevering Homes the sum of $5,950.00which is due for rent.6. In the event Mr. [redacted] fails to submit the amount due and owing, and in the event Mr.[redacted] attempts to move his [redacted] forward, he should be mindful of the fact that there is awritten agreement that forces the parties to engage in Arbitration. If that occurs, OeveringHonles, LLC will be subpoenaing any and all credit information and the loan files fromthe two institutions that apparently turned Mr. [redacted] down for financing, and caused thesedelays. The undersigned can only surmise that this information will shed more light as towhy there was a delay in closing, and once and for all clearly prove that the delay was onthe part of Mr. [redacted], not Oevering Homes, LLC.Once again, Oevering Homes, LLC intends this to be its final response to the complaint filed byMr. [redacted] with the Revdex.com. If the Revdex.com does require additional information, please do not hesitate tocontact our office. I thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

We at Oevering Homes LLC will not allow a customer to live in a house 4.5 for free when the owner switched lenders from the original pre approval letter which caused the loan to fall through. It is common practice to purchase land after purchase agreements are written. I can prove to the Revdex.com that...

over the past 2 years I have closed well over 30 homes that way. Mr [redacted] runs from responsibility and we stand firm until we are paid rent nothing will be done on our part.

Oevering Homes has extremely high standards.  We are continually seeking ways to improve our company so that our buyers can experience a very enjoyable build process combined with the construction of a beautiful high quality home.  We focus on providing a very high quality product at the best possible cost.  This homeowner has received a very high quality product that we are proud to stand behind.  There is a significant disagreement with this buyer in regards to the perspective of this situation.  This buyers reality and perspective of the situations is completely different than the reality that our contractors have faced.   It is very clear that this homeowner's expectations were not met.  We apologize for not begin able to meet this homeowners expectations.  However, when negotiating home sales, pricing, and product, realistic expectations need to be maintained.  We stand behind the product and service that we have provided.  We will take this homeowners perspective and as always strive to provide the most enjoyable build experience possible for our future buyers.  In reality there are going to be some buyers that we as a builder are never going to be able to satisfy.  We will do everything that we possibly can to prevent this from taking place.  And even in this instance, we did provide this buyer with much more than what was included in their purchase price in an attempt to meet their desired outcome.   In the last sentence of the previous response of the buyer they stated that "By filing this complaint, we hope that it will help prevent other home buyers from having to endure these stressful issues with this builder."  This shows us that the intent in their complaint is not to bring resolution to an issue, but more in a vindictive purpose to directly try to negatively impact our success as a company.  We will let our record stand for itself and our positive homeowner feedback and testimonials stand to attest our professionalism, passion and desire to exceed homeowner expectations, and our willingness to do all that we possibly can to provide the most enjoyable build experience for our clients while providing a high quality home at an amazingly low cost.

Again, Overing is simply trying to turn this on the customer. Now he wants to slander me as well. It is a simple matter of he is not going to warranty my home and he was paid in full. The only resin there was a issue with the loan was due to Overing could not provide clear title. There is no smoking gun as he is trying to elude too. I have great credit and high net worth. He was provided with a approval letter otherwise he would not have built the house for me. Again I was not in the home for 4.5 months eaither. I really don't know what else to say except he is simply not telling the truth and there is no resin to waste his time or mine on this anylonger. I understand his position! I would like to thank the Revdex.com for the help and it is unfortunate that is matter could not be resolved by simply doing the right thing. Best Regards,[redacted]

We have been given the run around on our warranty issues for our home.  We provided the issues that have not been completed to the General Manager who indicated that a new warranty representative would start working with us.  We have not been contacted by this representative and have left message to the General Manager to contact us.  This is the third warranty representative that has been assigned to us, each time a new representative is assigned to us we have not been notified of our progress, we continue to start the process again.  We want our remaining warranty issues resolved and fixed correctly.  The fact that we had once cancelled an appointment because of hospitalization was not an issue.  We have had several appointments made that were no shows and we were not contact why they did not show up.We need better cus[redacted]er service for these issues remaining, if we knew these issues would not be resolved through our warranty process, we would not have closed on the sale of our home.

We have investigated the complaint above.  The Patio Door was not installed upside down.  The homeowner tried to install the screen door and while doing so damaged the track.  It is the homeowners responsibility to install screens and screen doors.  We did send our carpenter out...

to the site to fix this for the homeowner.  The Screen Door is installed, but opens rough because of this kink in the track.  We have ordered another track and we are going to try to install a new track so that the screen door opens smoothly.  In addition, our carpenter has been onsite to resolve any squeaks that may still be present.  Our carpenter has informed us that there is still one squeak that he needs an angle drill for.  We are giving him access to an angle drill, and he is going to set up another appointment to fix this squeak.  We have investigated the window issue already, and the window manufacturer has also sent their rep out to investigate.  The resolution on the windows are that the windows are functioning as they were designed.  We installed the windows that the homeowners signed off on and agreed to have installed.  They are a vinyl window, and they are functioning as they were designed, so no further action will be taken regarding the windows.  In addition, Oevering Homes has not lied or been deceptive throughout this entire process.  We have struggled to get our carpenter in touch with the homeowner, and we have made that contact at this point in time.

Oevering Homes Sincerely apologizes about the length of time in which it has taken to get this completed.  The Asphalt Contractor has informed us that he had a date to complete the asphalt overlay and the homeowner instructed the asphalt contractor to hold off until he completed the...

construction of a shed or structure on the property.  The Asphalt contractor has been notified by Oevering Homes that the residence is now ready to have the overlay completed.   Work would have been completed last week, 9/5 to 9/9 but was not because of the rain.  The Asphalt Contractor has insisted that the work will be completed by the end of the week of 9/12 through 12/16.  If work is not completed on this date, we ask that the homeonwer would contact Oevering Homes as soon as possible to inform them, so that we can move forward with a suitable solution.

Oevering Homes wants to thank these homeowners for following though with making sure that their warranty work is completed.  We do apologize for the length of time in which the homeowner has had to wait to get these issues resolved.  We commit to completing each of these three areas of...

concern within the next 60 days or sooner.  1.  We are currently still waiting for the completion of your cabinet.  We will move forward to get your cabinet from our cabinet supplier as soon as possible.  If they are not able to get us a cabinet within a reasonable time frame we will seek another custom cabinet make to rebuild your cabinet.  In addition, we will have our plumber reinstall all fixtures, install everything as it was, and have our drywall and painting contractor come in and complete any needed work.2.  In regards to the crack in the drywall, we will send another one of our painting contractors out to complete the work for you.3.  Instead of painting your door, we are proposing that we wrap your brick mold in metal trim to match your fascia and trim.  This solution will be maintenance free option.  Please let us know if this is an acceptable option.  In addition, we will have the same painter that will be completing the other work on the house also paint your door.  You will need to let us know what door color you will want your front door painted.Thank you,Oevering Homes, LLC

Oevering Homes is doing everything that we can to resolve their warranty issues.  The warranty for the windows is held by Alside window company, and we have tried multiple times to have a service rep come out to investigate and warrant the windows.  It appears to Oevering Homes that the windows are functioning as they were designed, but we need their window rep that is holding the warranty on their windows to come out to resolve this.  We are trying to assist the homeowner in with this process.  Typically it is the homeowners responsibility to work directly with their window manufacturer.  We are working with them to help them facilitate this process.  We believe that we are doing everything that we can on our end to resolve all outstanding warranty issues that are legitimate.
