On Demand Towing & Recovery Inc Reviews (23)

Review: Car was properly parked in area designated for condo building in which we have resided for 7 months, and have parked in correct area during that time. Car was towed by On Demand who is employed by the neighboring apartment complex, managed by [redacted]. On Demand had no documentation of location of car or any information whatsoever regarding the circumstances, location, towing method, etc., as required by prudent business practices and possibly by business law. They said they had a photo of the car parked incorrectly, which was not provided to me until several hours after I paid the fee and reclaimed the car. The photo eventually provided was taken at night, was very dark, did not clearly show the position of the car relative to the no parking area, did not even show the license plate number and did not show sufficient detail to demonstrate the car was parked incorrectly. The photo was the only record provided to me. On Demand offered no further proof, no apology and no refund. Paid $125 and my daughter and I both lost two hours of work. Reported to [redacted] at [redacted], the apartment complex, for whom the towing company works, and was not offered any recourse but was told about a maintenance person reporting someone who habitually parks incorrectly and had been verbally warned by the maintenance person - which was not relevant to us as we have not parked incorrectly and no one has ever stated that we were not correctly parked. [redacted] stated that someone who was a habitual offender would probably not change their habits even after a warning, and tried to imply we were this person without any evidence, description of the person spoken to, etc. She said it was between the towing company and us and offered no concession.Desired Settlement: Refund of $125 towing fee and mileage charges for 28 mile roundtrip to retrieve car.

Business

Response:

Revdex.com spoke with [redacted] from the company and he stated that the only way a car will get towed from the lot is if a parking pass is not showing. If they are a visitor, there is a place for visitor parking. If they are a resident and their pass was not visible, they can tow.

Response:

I have reviewed the message received from the business. It contains their assertion they did not tow improperly. There was no offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and as there was no attempt to address my concern by the business, I have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[They made no offer. They towed improperly and required cash payment which is contrary to law that states they must accept at least two forms of payment. I am not satisfied with their response. Terrible business practices.]

Regards,

Review: I recently moved into [redacted] and in compliance of the rules pertaining to the parking arrangements my truck was improperly towed. I was not yet on the lease but the rules clearly state that residents can have guest for fourteen days before the leasing office needs to be made aware. On my third night staying at my apartment my truck was towed. All my tags were up to date, I was parked in a spot designated for my building. I spoke to On Demand Towing on several occasions telling them my side of the story and I was never properly reimbursed or apologized to for the incident. I've called numerous times, over the past two months, to finalize the situation but the business owner or the person who makes all the final decision keeps giving me the run around. The apartment complex corporate office was emailed. They spoke with towing company directly and agreed due to the company not following regulations, that he would reimburse me, but still to no avail.Desired Settlement: Full amount of towing fee $125

Business

Response:

After speaking with [redacted] from the business he states that this apartment complex has marked visitor’s spots and if a car is parked in a residential spot without a pass is in improperly parked. If a resident of the complex calls and states that an unmarked car is in a resident spot the tow company will come out and tow that vehicle, since the spots are meant for those that are residents of the property. This vehicle did not have a pass on it so it was towed. The business did say that the management of this complex has changed a few times and no new guidelines have been given to the business, so they must go off of the information they have. This fee will not be refunded as they were following their protocol of towing unmarked cars.

I believe I was wrongfully towed and I should be fully refunded

Regards,

Review: My complaint against On Demand towing is in regard to my vehicle being towined for "expired" tags from where I reside.

My vehice does have expired tags, but the is now deceased & I am in the process of trying to resove that matter "legallyr. In the mean time the car broke down and I was waiting to get money in order to fix it.

1-I feel that 2-days is not sufficent time for anyone to resolve whatever issues are going with their vehicle,

2-they towed my vehicle 10/09/2015@1pm "NOT" 10/08/2015, for which they are charging me an additional day for,

3-now they want to charge me some "BOGUS" $150 additional for a mechanic lease...just because?uDesired Settlement: remove 1 charge $35 & remvoe mechanic lease fee $150,,and personally I think On Demand should have to pay an penalty charge for unfair business practices
