One and only locksmiths are flat out crooks. After web advertising of 19.00 the bill ended up being 89.00. I will say they were fast to show up and for the 30 seconds it took to unlock my car they charged 89.00. Obviously none of this was disclosed until they showed up leaving not much of a choice.

Revdex.com:At this time, I have not been contacted by One and Only Locksmith Inc regarding complaint ID [redacted]. In fact, after my bank gave me a credit of $81, the company attempted to unsuccessfully withdraw $60. $80, $100 and $150 from...

my Visa card. Sincerely,[redacted]

I authorized this with a credit card over the phone for a key to be made for my son's car. An email was sent. The quote started at $90 over the phone but they wanted $350 when arrived. I said no. We agreed on $200. There was no confirmation of the vehicle that was worked on. The tech showed up to key a vehicle when the owner was not there. The tech keyed the wrong vehicle and fled the scene. The police were called and I called the supervisor Ed who said my son pointed to the wrong car. He called my son a liar. The owners came and the police were called. My son's text on his phone and the video at Safeway proved my son was not there when the tech starting working on the car. I am currently fighting for the $200 charge. Most unprofessional experience I think I have ever encountered. I told Ed the supervisor I would not pay for this. He kept saying my son was a liar. I called more than once trying to find out what was going on. He said his tech had another call and that is why he left. My email showed a different vehicle than what the police said was worked on. I asks Ed why the tech didn't confirmed the vehicle. He didn't answer he just blamed my son. He said he would flag my account but his company is still trying to get the $200.

I usually never bother leaving a review to anyone but this has got to be of one the worst experiences I ever had. The person on the phone was completely clueless. She said she found where I was at and I verified everything with her. She then sends a person that doesn't even know how to use google maps. He wanted me to go find a computer and show him how to get to my location. It was very clear where it was at so I had to use a phone to give him the location. (takes 2 seconds). The person was very rude and never apologized for being late. Practice was very shady. Lied to me saying that he will give me a 10% discount making my payment $200 if I paid in cash. Told him I didn't have any so he kept insisting that I will have to pay 230. I then see that he wrote $180 on the final bill. This company deploys foreign scammers from other countries to scam Americans. The typical price should be $50 in this area but they charge $180.

Review: Called this service to open a van that my son had locked the keys in. The company, stating when asked, that they were a local company, said they could be there in 15 minutes to a half hour. They said they charge $19.99 for the service call and $25.00 and up for labor based on the difficulty in opening the door. My son waited over 1:10 for the man to show. When he did, my son signed something saying that it was OK for the man to open the car but did not discuss price at that time. My son states that the man may have used a couple of different tools but that the service man spent no more than 8-10 minutes to open the door. He then hands him a bill for $200.00. My son questioned the amount of that bill and the man said that is a normal charge for something like this. My son was on work time with the company van at a customer's home and in an awkward situation and agreed to pay the bill. The van is a 2004 Chevy van with just a standard passenger door lock. Afterwards, I called the company to question the bill. I was outraged at the inflated charge. They had no real explanation. They said the service was sub-contracted to an independent service man. The receipt I had did not even have a company name on it. It took me at least 5 phone calls to the company to actually obtain the promised refund and be provided with an official receipt. They kept saying they charge more when it is a complicated lock to open but that just did not make sense in this situation. I finally got them to reluctantly give me a discount which was $30.00 on my $200.00 bill. They said that was all they could do. I just do not feel that is enough. I think that I deserve an additional refund. I think that the service charge should have been no more than $100.00 (even that it high) I think this is a company taking advantage of people in a crisis situation and it should be addressed.Desired Settlement: I would like to see an additional refund for at least $70.00 and a commitment from the company to look into service technicians over-charging customers. I do not want to see this happen to other people.

Review: I called this locksmith because I had locked my keys into my car. They arrived, unlocked my car within 5 minutes. I was quoted a price of a $15 service fee then $35-$55 depending on the measures they would have to take to get into my car. I was billed $110 for the service. I called to speak to a supervisor who was very rude on the phone and unwilling to help me. Told me I was lying about what I was told on the phone and that $110 was reasonable for the service provided. I am irate about how I was treated by the company and I want everyone to beware of them.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded some of the fee that I was charged. I was willing to pay the price that was quoted to me on the phone but $110 is ridiculous.

Review: I called, using a neighbor's cell phone, when I was locked out of my sister's house in [redacted] The neighbor chose the service and called. As soon as I spoke to the person at One and Only Locksmith about the lockout--after giving my credit card number--my sister drove up and I was able to enter the home. I was told that the technician would call within a minute or two to confirm he had received the information and was on his way. I asked the neighbor to please cancel the service when the technician called him. Less than 1 minute had passed between when I called and when I was able to enter the home.

However, I was billed $19. When I called to dispute the charge--I was never asked if I agreed to the $19 charge to send out the technician--I was told my credit card would be credited within 3-5 days. This was on May **, 2014. I called again today, May **, 2014, and was told the technician had traveld 15 minutes before making the call, so I thereby owed $19. I disputed this, based on what I was told--that the technician would call to confirm the details within a minute or two.Desired Settlement: refund credit card $19 for processing an unauthorized credit card charge

Review: On Friday July [redacted] at 11:55 am I called the phone number listed on the [redacted] and asked for an estimate on a car key replacement. The operator told me the service call is $19 and labor is $160 unless there are any additional fees. I asked if the operator could please be more specific as to what price range I am looking at and he again told me the price of $160 but said he cannot be sure until the tech arrives. I then asked the operator if the technician will be able to replace my key with the remote for the doors and alarm (I made sure to ask this because the previous place I called said they cannot replace my key becuase they do not replace remote keys)he assured me that the key will replace the remote head and I agreed to have him send a technician to my car. Once the tech arrived he took a quick look at my car and wrote up an estimate of:$19 service call, $250 car key made/ program, and $115 pin code, which he totaled $394. I was completely shocked at the estimate, which was far from the $160 that was roughly quoted over the phone, and immediately told him I will not be using there services and I gave the tech a $20 bill for the service call. After a short period of time the tech came back up to my front porch after I had already turned his services down, and started shouting "HELLO" through my screen door. I went back to my front door and he handed me his cell phone to talk to someone at the home office. The woman on the other end of the phone said they would be able to make the key for $275, and I agreed to this price. The tech then crossed out the $394 on the estimate and replaced the total with $275 and asked me to sign and I did. He then said he would be back with the key in 1 hour, and then corrected himself and stated 1-2 hours and this was at 12:55 pm. The tech returned at 3:50pm. I met him at my car and handed him my credit card, he then told me that his price was a cash only price and said he will follow me to the bank. So, I get my 10 month old son into his car seat and head to the bank. As I am driving I notice there is a flashing symbol on my dash showing a car and key, and also the new key is not a remote key at all. When I get to the bank I get out of the car and tell him this is not the key I had agreed to pay for, and I do not wish to complete the transaction and tell him he can follow me back to my house and I will give him back the key. As I am walking away he asks me how much I want to pay for this key and I tell him I feel $150 is a fair price. He says "fine give me $150, I have to get to another job". So I go into the bank to get the money. One of the female bankers follows me outside as I am explaining the situation to her, and the tech shouts for me to hurry up because he has to go. He then storms from his vehicle to where I am standing with the banker and I hold out the money. The tech snatched the money from my hand and told me that someone will be in touch with me for the rest of the money I owe them, and rushes back to his car. I then call after him that I want my money back and for him to take the key back, and he refuses. He tells me that he has my license plate number and someone will be after me. I continue to tell him to give me my money back, and that I am going to call the police. He shouted "go ahead" and sped out of the paring lot. By this time one of the male bankers had come out to make sure my son and I were OK. Both bankers witnessed the interaction. A short while later I received a voice mail from the manager stating he reviewed the recording of the phone call and never heard me ask for a remote key. This is a lie. Additionally, I was not informed that the phone call would be recorded prior to my conversation with the operator. I returned the call to [redacted], the manager, and explained exactly what happened in detail. He then apologized for his tech's behavior and said I can come return the key for my money back, or we can just call it even. He said he may be back inDesired Settlement: I do not feel that I was treated fairly and I would like my money back for the key. I do not wish to do business with a company that treats customers this way.

Review: I called at 3:45 today and made an appointment for 6pm for a technician to come to our home for a key to be made. I was informed that the technician would call when he was on his way. At 6pm I called the company to verify why I hadn't heard from the tech that I was expecting. They had no record of my appointment, so I had to resubmit all of our information and was told I would need to wait another 45 minutes for a tech. After rescheduling our appointment, I decided that we no longer needed or wanted their service, so I called the tech to cancel. After cancelling the appointment, I was called by an office representative, who wanted to collect a $19 service charge, for sending out a technician. I did not accept or receive service from this company, so I refused to pay the fee. I was then informed that they would make record that I refused to pay.Desired Settlement: I would like it to go on their account that I did not receive any service from a technician, therefor I am not expected to pay a service fee.

Review: My wife and I were locked out of our apartment at 1am in the morning. Our cel phones were locked inside the apartment as well. Since there are no working payphones in our area we walked to CVS and asked if we could use their yellow pages to look up a 24 hour locksmith. She called One and Only Locksmith aka 1 and Only Locksmith aka Best & Fast Locksmith INC ([redacted]) and the dispatcher informed us that for 25 dollars plus a 19 dollar service feel we would have our door unlocked. We notified them that we would be waiting outside. We waited for an hour and we saw the driver go past our apartment without stopping. I went back to the CVS and called the locksmith dispatch company back. The operator proceeded to tell me that she has been trying to contact the locksmith and her [redacted] to find out when the locksmith would arrive. I let her know that he had driven past us and she then asked me to hold then hung up on me. I called back and she apologized then said I would need to stay at the CVS to await a call from the technician as he would not do any work without speaking to me first.

While I waited, my wife waited at our home and the locksmith arrived. He then proceeded to tell my wife that he would only open the lock for 135 plus the 19 dollar service charge. He refused to take a check or a credit card then insisted he take my wife to a nearby ATM to withdraw the money. Panicked, she did so and paid him the 155 dollars. He then drove off after she exited the car without providing a receipt and having never furnished his license.

Only after she was able to contact me had I discovered what happened, I immediately called the company back and requested to speak with a [redacted]. I was told I was being put on hold and was hung up on twice then when I called back the third time I was told the manager would call me immediately. I had never received a call so I called back. This time I was assured he would call back. He did this time and spoke with both my wife and I. He had insisted that the fact that my wife paid it meant she accepted the price quoted and that there was nothing that could be done. We were then offered an invoice. I accepted and had been promised it would be emailed to me immediately. 40 minutes and 3 calls later I finally received my Invoice with the 19 dollar service charge, no billing address, and a generic description for opening the lock listed as 135 dollars, and a different name for the business than the business I had believed we were dealing with.

This sort of false advertising and bait & switch pricing when someone is at the mercy of the needed service is reprehensible and I sincerely hope this company wont be in business much longer. I would hate to see others treated as we were by these thieves.Desired Settlement: We would like to receive the difference back from what we were initially quoted and to what my wife was forced to be made to pay, which would be $111.00

Review: On December 22, 2013, I locked myself out of my house. I called a locksmith I found on the internet (1 and Only Locksmith). A tech was dispatched to unlock my door. The tech wrote up the sales slip with 20.00 for the site visit and 25.00 for the work before the work was performed. He asked me to sign the sales slip and add my address. Upon completion, the tech asked for my credit card. He ran the charges against my credit card. He handed the sales slip to me and a "1" was added to the 25.00. The charges was not 45.00, it was 145.00! I called the company and spoke to [redacted]. I explained the issue and [redacted] yelled at me for not challenging the tech about the charges. I said I wanted money back, about 65.00. [redacted] then said the tech was a contracted company (Lock MD). He called me back and said he can credit back 45.00. The next day, the I saw additional charged of 45.00 on my credit card above and beyond 145.00! I called [redacted]. [redacted] said 90.00 will be credited. I think I should be charged only 45.00.Desired Settlement: I feel the service charge should be 45.00 and not 145.00.

Review: I called One and Only Locksmith to make a copy of a key for a car. They did not know the car was not available until they arrived but assurred me over and over they could make a key and it would work! They insisted on completing the job when they knew it would not work unless it was programmed but told me the exact opposite. I paid $180.70 for a car key that is totally useless. When I contacted the company they want an additional $100.00 to progam the key. Their website states a transponder key cost $119 .00 plus a service charge of $19.00. What they really want is $280.00 for a transponder key.....rediculous price.

Afterwards I called a car dealer and they told me the key would not work unless the key was programmed and the car would have to be available.

One and Only Locksmith tried to collect CASH because they knew they didn't want a customer coming back with a claim. They knew if they had CASH I could not get a refund. How dishonest and untrustworthy and what a sham of a business.Desired Settlement: Refund for $180.70 for the key.

Review: I used Cincinnati Auto Locksmith url: [redacted] which says their corporate office is 1 and Only Locksmith in New York. On their mobile website it says their corporate office is located in Tennessee. Anyway, I called the number and my call was routed to an out of state call center and I was quoted a price of 35 dollars, and after the locksmith began work on my car, was told it was going to be 99 dollars. I feel as though the way they list their prices is very dishonest and misleading.

I emailed the company and asked for a further breakdown of the cost, but was basically told I should have read the website because it says "starting fee of 35 dollars". When I asked what the upcharge was for, I was told it was to cover insurance and to allow them to answer customer concerns like this one. I told them, if they are including that in the cost to do the work, then it should be included upfront. Their practices were very misleading and shady. The person emailing me from the company also called me a liar when I told them that I was quoted two different prices.

I feel as though I was scammed.Desired Settlement: I want a breakdown of the cost or a refund of my money. I was told 35 dollars, then for no reason they told me the price was raised to 99 dollars. I want a refund.

Review: My daughter called One and Only Locksmith and was told a$19 fee to unlock the vehicle and when the technician arrived and unoclked the vehicle he charged $155. The locksmith never asked for my daughter's ID, never asked for either parents phone number to call for consent to services. My daughter is not of legal age to consent. She is 17. When I called to ask why I was never called and why the bait ad switch of the price, I was told a [redacted] would call me back. and when he did it was 11 PM CST. I have tried to resolve this issue with this company but their vulgarity over the phone and not understanding that they provided a service to a minor and made no attempt to contact a legal guardian and then did a bait and switch with the price have been very frustrating. I would like a refund in the amount of what is reasonable for services done. I have called some of the area locksmiths and have also had services performed several months ago by another locksmith so I am very aware of what the local prices for my area should be and $155 is not it.Desired Settlement: I would like a partial refund in the amount of $105 and a letter of apology on company letter head from ** or [redacted] of company so that I am aware that they are informed of this issue and that my attorney can have it on file for future legal reference. I dont want this to happen t anyone elses minor child.

Review: On October, **, 2012 I was having an issue with my 06' Honda ridge line. The key was not turning. I called this national number and they sent out an independent technician to come and fix my problem. The independent technician was very helpful and was able to fix the problem for 466.00. However, for the past week now I can not get my key to slide into the ignition. Not having the independent technicians number I decided I would call One and only locksmith again and ask for the technicians number so I can resolve the issues with them. However, when I called I was greeted by someone who seemed like I was bothering them I even called. I asked if you could send the same tech out or give me the number for him. He said he is unable to provide that info and there will be a separate charge to have someone come and look at it. I don't feel I should have to pay if I was sold a defective part. I attempted to explain that this was a 466 dollar repair and I am not happy that I can't even start my car right now and I would like to speak to the technician that did the work. He said he can not do that and he would have to charge to send someone else out. I then decided my problem could not be resolved through this middle man company and am contacting Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: I would like them to provide me with the Independent contractor they originally sent to me on October [redacted] 2012. So I can talk to him directly about my problem and have him stand behind his work. I DO NOT want to work with this middle man company any more I just want to speak to the technician that came out originally.

Review: The key that they provided me makes my alarm go off if I lock the jeep using the auto-locks from the inside prior to exiting the vehicle. I was not informed that the key would do this and then when I called to complain that the key did this I was treated very rudely by the "[redacted]" I was speaking to when I called them at [redacted]. I have never been spoken to so rudely and when I contacted the corporate office in NY, they never called me back. The main issue is that what they provided me was not what I was expecting based on the estimate and explanation of what they gave me. The secondary issue is with the extremely poor customer service after the fact.Desired Settlement: I would like the total that I paid refunded to me due to the fact that I did not receive what I was told I was getting. I was never told that the key they gave me would set off my alarm if I used my auto-locks. The total I paid was $302.13 which was split over 3 different credit cards
