Sales is not accurate and customer service is lacking I was quoted a price by [redacted] in the sales department based on weight and according to asking me what I have in my storage unit and where it was goingNobody came out to look at the unitThat price was roughly $The carrier did not come out until the day of pickupI agreed with the service based on this and when Bruce called the price changed by about $My new quote was now around $I paid another deposit so they could pick up At this point I wanted my stuff moved so I agreed hoping that it was going to weigh lessOnce the carrier, Century, came for pick up they stated it would be more like $based on cubic square feetI was not able to be there at pick up because I had to leave to start my new jobThey didn't come on the first pick up date before I had to leave due to a mechanical issue with the truckI wasn't happy that I was given so many different prices and it's all based on what I sa

company did not comply with contract On July 2, I made a reservation (#XXXXXXX), the movers were supposed to be here on July to July 13, for over a week I did not hear from the company, I called several times and left voicemail for a guy named ***,he contacted me back on July 10, he proceeded to tell me that once they find a truck they would call me, also he stated that I could only pay the driver in cash when he arrived or a check Today July 11, I called twice to speak with a manager, a lady by the name of [redacted] said they where all outI expressed to her that why no one has called me to let me know when the truck was going to be here, she place my call on hold for minutes or soShe then expressed that they have to push my moving date to another week, because they haven't found a truck for this route, when I asked her what did she mean, she the hang up the phone, I had to call four time (XXX-XXX-XXXX) before she answered, I asked again to speak with a manager the lady ***

DO NOT USE! When we needed to move our daughters furniture from StLouis to Boston for grad school, we engaged Open Road Moving based on what now appears to be fake online reviewsWe paid an $deposit, only to have the movers assigned to us no-show timesOn the fourth occasion, they again failed to show and they did not answer our callsBeing the weekend, there was no one answering the phones at open road Two hours after the time range we were given, the movers call, tell us they will be there in an hour and that we needed to have dollars in cash or money order or they would not move usWe again tried to contact open road as paying cash was never part of the arrangementAlas, again, no one to talk toWe declined to have them come to our home as the cash/money order request suggested our money and property was at risk So now we have furniture that has gone unmoved, Open Road has dollars which they refuse to refund and the unscrupulous movers are out there no-showing or insisting on cash before they will take your furniture Open Road takes no responsibility for the actions, behaviors, or promptness of the movers they coordinate with across the country These people are PIRATES, not moversNext stop..Attorney General for the State of Florida

The more the move process has gone along the more we owe them We have gone from [redacted] to [redacted] dollars We called and had a quote for [redacted] dollars to move our house hold goods from Washington state to GeorgiaThey convinced us we should double our cubic feet and the quote went to [redacted] dollars but not to worry they only go off of weightWe paid [redacted] up front and once the driver showed up we paid him ***And he gave us a remaining balance of [redacted] dollars based off of a estimate with our cubic feetWe were still assured they only went off of weightAfter that I tried multiple times in a week and a half to contact open road and my calls were screened and ignored the manager is now talking to me and saying they cant get ahold of the driver to get the weight tickets

We booked this moving service weeks in advance to help us moveThey were not responsive and we had to find out for ourselves that it was a scam We had scheduled these movers to come and take our stuff to utah weeks in advanceThey gave us a day window to come and take our stuffWe called during the second day in order to get an ETA, which they said they would provide us withDuring this call we were informed that the truck had broken down and we were out of luckThis seems like something we would have been contacted about, since we had to be out of our apartment the next dayThey explained to us that they are a brokerage firm, not a moving companyThis company is a scam that gives you empty promises hoping for your depositOnce your moving window comes they tell you they will refund youScam written all over itPlease don't let others suffer from these awful business practices

A sales employee from Open Road improperly informed me of the day my belongings would be delivered, and they had me waiting for 24+ hours for pickup [redacted] with Open Road was a sales representative that I originally spoke to on the 21st of July, I told him that my wife and I are moving from Raleigh, NC to Austin, TX and I need my things to be delivered by July 31st, 2018, which is the day I arrive at my new apartmentIf these phone calls were recorded, you would hear [redacted] telling me that it should not be a problem, but he cannot guarentee delivery on that day due to unexpected things like car accidents or bad traffic Because [redacted] had given me this information, I felt confident that my wife and I would receive our belongings at the least close to when we expectedI signed the contract with Open Road, and was NOT given a copyI had to request this later [redacted] set my first available delivery day as the 31stTo someone that has never moved before this appeared normal***

Selected Open Road Moving and Storage to transport my items from Montgomery to PhoenixThe process has been filled with mistakes and missteps Chose Open Road SeptWas giving a quote of 2,from Dylan after providing list of items in aptMade down payment of $Invoice: XXXXXXXXXXHe told me they make the trip from Montgomery to Phoenix all the time and that it wouldn't be a problem for them to get out there in four daysHe gave me a much larger time frame, but because he said this was a regular route for them, this wouldn't be a problem So I chose themI had to move to Arizona for work so I left my items behind after packing themBefore leaving I sent [redacted] pictures of the items Septjust to make sure we were straight [redacted] responded and said he had a family issue and to contact [redacted] his manager at XXX-XXX-XXXX So I talked with him and was told I had more items than initially quoted, gave a new estimate of 3,and said I needed to make

Beware
They are Broker and have unprofessional & irresponsible behavior
We choose Open road moving and storage for moving our stuff from Az to ILFirst, they said they will reach our place at pm, but they reached by pm in the evening, still, it was fine for us
They took our stuff on 23-June-and after reaching Illinois we mail the moving date as 03-July-But till date (14-Aug-2018) we didn't get our stuffWe are following up with them every day, every week, most of the time they don't answer it, if they answer, they give some or other excusesLike we deliver stuff within days, when days are over then we don't count holidays in those daysAnd when all days are over excluding holidays, they are lying and said your moving date as per carrier is 03-Aug-Or we will talk to our carrier and let you know the dateOr you request for month of storage, which we never didFrom last one and the half month, we are living without any household stuffThey are just a bunch of liarsPlease don't hire themWe are really frustrated and fed upDon't know when we will get our stuff :(

Refund For Non- Service- Fraud and misrepresentation
I have been working with *** ***, I was provided a quote of per my inventory listI gave a deposit of $with the intentions of having my items moved On Tuesday October 30, 2018, movers showed up to my house and immediately inflated the cost to $3,based on the same items on my inventory list, how is this possible???? I was given a quote and it has now more than tripledNeedless to say, I wasn't giving the moving company additional money so the contract was canceled for non-serviceHow am I per my inventory to gain my business and on the day of with the same inventory??? I want a refund for non-service, fraud and misrepresentation! What happens to consumers hard earned money when no service is provided based on a companies ability to manipulate consumers??? What happens when consumers don't have the extra 2,upcharge, do you get away with keeping everyone's deposit?? ***, has not res

In short: DON'T hire these people even if they are the last moving company on earth
They are a bunch of liars and scammers and whatever they promise you on the phone you will pay moreAll these positive reviews probably fake because even if everything went ok I will never give them stars for their customer service aloneI even heard that they even changed their name recently with all the bad reviews they gotIf you don't believe me, see their page in yelp: *** *** ***
These guys are basically brokers and they don't actually come to your home to do the moving, which is fine but they don't tell you thatWhen the moving date comes a completely unknown company that you never heard of comes to your home with a rental truck and tell you we will do the moving for you and you have to play with our rules and sign our new agreementSo whatever you agree upon with Open road is gone with the windsThat means new price and new fees you never heard of
At that point, you have two choices: either you go along as you don't have time and you have to move soon and you don't want the headache of looking around again or you cancel the whole thing and that is what I do recommend but you have to find another way to move
Once they took your belongings, they got you in their pockets and they can add whatever they want from extra charges and feesAnd when you call Open road company to ask them to help with the situation, they are completely uselessThat is you, Stacy and AlbaOnce they take your money they become rude on the phone and sometimes they don't even answerThey never called back and never fixed any problem with the actual moving company
My stuff arrived after weeks and you can't imagine how stressful it was to wait with the above-mentioned factsThere were some damages in some of the furniture and I ended up paying an extra $
Finally, I will just give you a few questions to ask Open road before you pay them and agree on anything with them:
1) Are you going to do the moving for me?
2) Are the agreement and the price that we agreed upon will be valid and apply with the actual moving company? If they say yes, don't sign any new agreement when they come to take your stuff
3) Do you have any authorities or even communication with the actual moving company?
If I can go back in time, I will just rent a truck or trailer and hire someone to help me load and unload my stuff and driveBecause the whole moving business is just a shady one
Goodluck!

DON'T USE OPEN ROAD! FIND ANYONE ELSE TO DO YOUR MOVE! WARNING!!!
A truck with men who barely spoke English delivered my belongings to a storage unit because the man in the billing office with whom I spoke days prior did not relay the message to Dispatch that I had called to continue my belongings in storage for another month
At 3:pm on 8-1-18, I received a phone call that a truck was delivering my belongings the next morning! The people in the home have not moved out yet so this meant I had to scramble at the last minute to secure a storage unitThis was handled horribly and no apology was given to me by anyone from the Dispatch Manager or the Drivers' Manager, and I did not get any calls back from the main office despite leaving messages
I was there at the storage unit the entire time today while the truck was unloaded and several items are missing including a priceless original paintingMany of the boxes marked "Fragile" were mishandled by the movers roughly right in front of me and there is quite a bit of damage to my belongingsSeveral priceless family heirlooms were severely damaged and several custom made pieces of furnitureWhen I spoke to the driver about the damaged and missing items, he was very unconcerned and just said to request an insurance form
It is just tragic how this whole move has gone in Open Road Moving's hands: from the pick up being delayed by days, to the delivery coming unexpectedly and early with less than hours notice, to the many damaged and missing priceless heirlooms, accompanied by very poor customer service and communicationThey farmed out my move to a mover called Integrated Moving Solutions from NJ who is just as responsible for how horribly my move was handled

Just to continue my aforementioned review.....***, the sales manager has no idea what the actual moving companies are measuring in terms of your belongingsShe stated the load is measured by weightABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE
The moving company said they were charging by cubic feetSubsequently charging much more than the original quotes
Basically Open has an inordinate disconnect with the moving companies
JUST STAY AWAY
I am now in touch with ***' officeThe attorney general of Florida

Furniture was picked up July 28, 2018, for delivery by Aug Has not yet been delivered, as of today, Aug
Contacted Open Road r.emove from Akron, OH, to Lillian, ALSales person *** *** Set up the move, noting it would take or days Furniture was picked up on July Has not been delivered Calls to Customer Service (*** and ***) revealed that my belongings are in a warehouse somewhere, and would not be delivered until they had another delivery to this area Payments were made by Master Card ( & 612.00)On Pick-up, the driver was given a cashier's check (976.00) Account number with Open Road is ***The move was done by Spirit Vanlines, contracted by Open RoadThe driver also noted the move would take 4-days

The positive reviews are fakeThis has to be why the site is being reviewedI can show you my paperwork from this companyI am a legitimate customerThat is hard to admit, really, because I got scammed
This company is a scamThey are brokers, yet don't tell you they are brokers until your deposit is no longer refundableAt that point, they are more than willing to tell you that they are just brokers and you will now have to deal with the actual moving companyThey literally charge for something called a "non-binding estimate fee." They make their money by scamming people into thinking that they are a moving company, getting a speedy deposit and then palming the customer off onto a disreputable moving company
I am one of the lucky ones who did not lose belongings or have to wait an inordinate amount of timeThat was only because the moving company followed through even though their reviews are just as bad
Here's my last contactI called them August 11th and was told that they would call back on Monday, August 13thIt is now September 25thNo one has ever called back to make sure that I have my belongings, etcThey literally do not careThey have found this niche scam and it is working
One review on Google Maps/Earth says that they have teenagers writing the positive reviewsThat review was written by a former employee
They are very similar to the company from StLouis that was recently on the newsSame exact practice

*** the sales rep said I would have my stuff by the 6th it didn't arrive until weeks later I had multiple items damaged as well and missing items
I have had many issue's with this company The email I sent them just highlights a few I was incredibly mislead from the moment I talked to *** He clearly was just trying to get a sale and the business practice of this company needs to be looked at I called and emailed MANY times and have just been brushed off The customer service was great until they got my money for the deposit for the move At that time I started to experience a completly different side of the company I was passed to *** after *** which is customer service was awful as well Then pushed to *** which was the ONLY one who actually seemed to care at allThen pushed to *** who had too many issue's at home it seemed like to worry about mine I gave Open Road the oppurtunity to handle this situation before I went this route, which this is just

Open Road is not responding to complaint filed regarding a move from Rockport, MA to Naples FL with damaged and missing items from my move
On June 20, Open Road was hired to move my household items to Naples FL They agreed to pickup on June and delivery on July 2nd Never delivered till July At receipt of good forced to pay in cash or cashiers check However, Many items damaged and many missing I have been in touch or tried to get in touch with them daily since They do not respond call back answer questions or the phone and do not respond to any emails I have completed the forms they requested with the info they asked for but no response, just put offs such as we will get back to youI have damaged and missing items that total over $ I would like response and reimbursement for damaged and missing items

Beware! Do no use this company for moving! They are a broker, which means that they will schedule and quote your move, yet will sell the move to a 3rd party carrier to wipe their hands clean of any problems that arise laterThey did not tell me they were a broker over the phoneI used them because they promised that they could get my stuff to me from PA to MN by Nov1st with a Oct26th pickupThe offer was the cheapest and quickest when compared to other moving companiesWhen the mover's from the 3rd party carrier came and loaded my things, I was charged over 40% more than what was originally quotedOpen Road purposely low-balled the total volume of my belongingsended up being 46% more and tried to mask the quote to be based off $/lbThe carrier had no way of measuring the weight of my things, so they had to base the price off the $/ft^Additionally, the foreman said that they would guarantee my belongings would arrive in MN between 5-business days (Nov2nd-Nov9th) which was beyond the delivery day I was promisedMy girlfriend and I ended up living in a nearly empty apartment for two weeks before our belongings finally arrivedWhen the movers finally came, I was billed extra for long carry of beyond ft, despite the contract I was given by Open Road saying the first ft were freeThe foreman told me that covered and extra costs were based solely on the carrier's policyOpen Road's covered and extra costs as well as many other parts of their provided contract are deceitful and/or fake
