Sales is not accurate and customer service is lacking
I was quoted a price by *** in the sales department based on weight and according to asking me what I have in my storage unit and where it was goingNobody came out to look at the unitThat price was roughly $The carrier did not come out until the day of pickupI agreed with the service based on this and when Bruce called the price changed by about $My new quote was now around $I paid another deposit so they could pick up At this point I wanted my stuff moved so I agreed hoping that it was going to weigh lessOnce the carrier, Century, came for pick up they stated it would be more like $based on cubic square feetI was not able to be there at pick up because I had to leave to start my new jobThey didn't come on the first pick up date before I had to leave due to a mechanical issue with the truckI wasn't happy that I was given so many different prices and it's all based on what I sa

I will not be using Open Road Moving again, nor recommend them to anyone Yes, I should have done a little more research, but when I made the reservation at no point did the sales rep acknowledge that they also work as a broker and I would be having another company come and actually move me It wasn't until the movers showed up with paperwork that had a different company name did I know After going through my inventory the first time, the customer service rep mentioned that at delivery I would need either cash, cashiers check or money order to pay the movers My move was being paid for by my company, so I called back and specifically asked if I could us a credit card to make final payment as I wanted to keep all moving expenses together to turn into my company The customer service rep said yes, I could use a credit card The second time I went over my inventory I had added some additional items which made my estimate go up I ended up not even moving everything on that inventory and still managed to go over my weight by 2,lbs said the moving company I was low balled on my estimate that it almost doubled my total cost to move I was supposed to be given hr notice of when the movers would arrive but only received hrs and they told me I could not use my credit card And still at that point the moving company had not even sent me any information on my total weight or total cost I explained to the movers that Open Road told me I could use a credit card, but they said that is not their policy A customer service rep from Open Road contacting me as she heard I was having issues She basically told me that there was nothing they could do as this was the policy of the moving company I felt completely disregarded and they were not willing to help me in any way as they gave me wrong information The customer service fell way short for Open Road Moving Because it was after business hours she could not reach any management These movers did not show up until 6:30pm central time The customer service rep said she would call me the next day to make sure everything went ok I never received a phone call I then called the sales rep to voice my dissatisfaction and he said he would have a manager call me I never received a phone call This move was less than satisfactory and I feel the Open Road fell way short on communication and customer service

The more the move process has gone along the more we owe them We have gone from *** to *** dollars
We called and had a quote for *** dollars to move our house hold goods from Washington state to GeorgiaThey convinced us we should double our cubic feet and the quote went to *** dollars but not to worry they only go off of weightWe paid *** up front and once the driver showed up we paid him ***And he gave us a remaining balance of *** dollars based off of a estimate with our cubic feetWe were still assured they only went off of weightAfter that I tried multiple times in a week and a half to contact open road and my calls were screened and ignored the manager is now talking to me and saying they cant get ahold of the driver to get the weight tickets

Selected Open Road Moving and Storage to transport my items from Montgomery to PhoenixThe process has been filled with mistakes and missteps
Chose Open Road SeptWas giving a quote of 2,from Dylan after providing list of items in aptMade down payment of $Invoice: XXXXXXXXXXHe told me they make the trip from Montgomery to Phoenix all the time and that it wouldn't be a problem for them to get out there in four daysHe gave me a much larger time frame, but because he said this was a regular route for them, this wouldn't be a problem
So I chose themI had to move to Arizona for work so I left my items behind after packing themBefore leaving I sent *** pictures of the items Septjust to make sure we were straight*** responded and said he had a family issue and to contact *** *** his manager at XXX-XXX-XXXX
So I talked with him and was told I had more items than initially quoted, gave a new estimate of 3,and said I needed to make

DO NOT USE! When we needed to move our daughters furniture from StLouis to Boston for grad school, we engaged Open Road Moving based on what now appears to be fake online reviewsWe paid an $deposit, only to have the movers assigned to us no-show timesOn the fourth occasion, they again failed to show and they did not answer our callsBeing the weekend, there was no one answering the phones at open road
Two hours after the time range we were given, the movers call, tell us they will be there in an hour and that we needed to have dollars in cash or money order or they would not move usWe again tried to contact open road as paying cash was never part of the arrangementAlas, again, no one to talk toWe declined to have them come to our home as the cash/money order request suggested our money and property was at risk
So now we have furniture that has gone unmoved, Open Road has dollars which they refuse to refund and the unscrupulous movers are out there no-showing or insisting on cash before they will take your furniture
Open Road takes no responsibility for the actions, behaviors, or promptness of the movers they coordinate with across the country
These people are PIRATES, not moversNext stop..Attorney General for the State of Florida

The move was subcontracted to a company that did not honor the per pound rate And because it was subcontracted and the terms changed, I can't get the move partially reimbursed by my employer so I am literally out thousands of dollars I specifically asked Open Road during the initial assessment why their estimate of the weight was so far off from other companies and was assured that Open Road were professionals - well, the other estimates were closer to reality and therefore I picked the WRONG company to get the best rate In addition, the subcontracting company damaged furniture, the driver upon delivery was rude and didn't want to put things in the rooms, and both guys smelled of weed A very expensive lesson

I urge anyone looking into moving services not to use this companyI was initially duped by the positive reviews on Google and other sitesAfter having a negative experience with the company, I looked at the reviewers on Google who had more than one review associated with the accountThese reviewers had rated multiple moving companies at the same time with very positive reviewsAs I kept reading, I realized many of the reviewers had been reviewing some of the same companiesI decided to cancel my services after I realized the representative I spoke with, ***, had not been completely transparent about how the move would workI called to cancel and spoke with ***, who told me she could not help meLater that day, I received a call from the owner, *** ***, asking why I was no longer interested in the servicesI was then told I would receive information to cancel via emailI did notI did, however, receive a call from my sales rep, ***, asking why I was no longer interestedAfter I did not receive an email from ***, as I was told I would, I contacted *** and customer serviceI received no responseI called and left a messageI received no responseI emailed again, and I received no responseThis company is not worth your time and effortIt seems they have put their energy into generating fake reviews instead of creating a good service

I had the Open Road Moving company hired to move my belongings from
Canadian, TX to Burien, WAThe first setback that I had was that they
showed up a day late for piand our plans to leave town had to be
delayed which was hard due to an ailing grandmother that needed
immediate attentionThen the delivery into Seattle came in a week
lateUpon arrival the driver asked for full cash payment and
threatened to not unload until he had itI paid him in cash, in full,
and several pieces of furniture and the most expensive box was
missingThe driver then

This business has exhibited a classic bait and switch scamWe initially contacted them about a move across the country, and got a rough estimate of $When they called back to review the order days before our scheduled departure, they revised the estimate up to $With few remaining options, we elected to continueWe paid them a $depositOn the day of our move, a subcontractor showed up, and walked around and took note of what we had to load onto the truckHis new estimate was over $A friend we were talking to alerted us to the nature of bait and switch scams, and when we read up on them online, this rang true as a textbook exampleI ended up sending them on their way, and elected to move everything ourselves

Inability to meet contract requirements and not being able to contact either company involved with this move
On June 22, 2018, Move On Moving Company, a subcontractor for Open Road Moving picked up my grandson,*** *** personal belongings in Phoenix, AZ The contract number we have for this move is: XXXXXXXX On numerous occasions we have tried to contact both companies with zero resultsPer the contract his belongings were to have been delivered to him no later than July 27, To date neither company has any clue as to when he can expect delivery of his belongings or even where said belongings are at According to the contract, his furniture was to be delivered to him in NCharleston, SC There is absolutely no one that can provide any information as to when he can expect delivery of his furniture & personal belongingsWhen *** called them on July 27, they told him his belonging would be loaded on a truck the very next day and shipped to him, the stuff was n

Original/contracted agreed upon pickup and delivery of household goods did not happenContinued requests by customer for information go unanswered
I made an inquiry on-line to find a moving company that could take my son's household goods from Phoenix, AZ to Berlin, CTOn 06/30/Open Road, Senior Relocation Specialist, sent an email to me announcing that they had a truck with available space that would be in Phoenix, AZ on or around 07/21/ I went into contract with Open Road on 06/30/2018, job # OXXXXXXXI was made aware that on 07/22/the truck was to be in Phoenix, AZ and that the household goods needed to be picked up in the afternoon from my son's storage unit I met with the movers on the agreed upon date and timeThe household goods were picked up with a smaller truck because of the larger moving van being unable to maneuver within the confined spaceOn my inventory paperwork from Move On I put down available delivery date as 07/28/which I was told woul

Items were damaged and my claim regarding replacement of damaged items has been ignored
The company did not disclose to me at any point that they were brokersThey did not give me the name of the company they hired to complete my move and had consistently poor communication with me about my moveThe company they contracted to complete my move crushed and damaged many of my boxesOne box was damaged to the point that a leather designer bag was crushed beyond repairClothing was dirty and had debris all over them from the holes that were in the boxesThe company they brokered to complete the move did not even drop of my items or make a reasonable attempt toI sent Open Road emails and called them to make a formal complaint about my damaged item and the incomplete drop off that was done by the company they hiredHowever, Open Road has now gone silent and I am left with damaged items and I paid for a move that was not even completed to the extent of the terms in my contract The

Company unreliableNot following through with estimated delivery dates
Furniture was picked up from Detroit on 7/30/by the carrier (third party hired by Open Road),and nearly 75% of the fees were paid at this pointDue to my apartment being unavailable until the 8/10/2018, that date was set as my first available delivery date (FADD)I called Open Road customer service on 8/asking for an ETAThey put me on hold and called the carrier, then returned to my call and told me that they will deliver between 8/15/and 8/17/2018, and that I will receive a call from the carrier with hours noticeSince I didn't hear from the carrier by 8/16/2018, I called open road customer service to verify if the carrier will indeed follow through with the ETA givenAt this time they explained to me that delivery can be expected UP TO business days from the FADDAfter customer service contacted the carrier, they called me back and said that they will deliver on 8/20/2018, which they d

Completely cut out communication after deposit recievedOnly a Fraction of refund contractually agreed upon was provided after move was completed
As a broker Open Road's job is to act as an intermediary between the carrier and the party movingYou can tell they have used this same bait and switch tactic beforeYour first interaction is with an extremely helpful and understanding sales representative to walk you through the process Once they have your first deposit you are transferred to a second sales person and can no longer contact the first*** (Salesman #2) is extremely aggressive and condescending and we found out his true goal which is to take your initial estimate that you put a deposit down on and convince you that you should really "plan for the absolute worst case scenario in the weight and volume your move could take upOn top of this, there is extra pressure because he calls you the day before your move, saying if you don't increase the deposit you'll lose you sp

Delay and incompetence in moving household goods
I have contracted with this broker Open Road Moving and Storage for a move from Tempe, AZ to StLouis MOThey have hired movers (MoveON moving in Las Vegas Nevada) as a carrier and to this date, I still don't have an estimated load date or delivery dateMy first available delivery date is July and the goods were picked up on June This is well over the promised business days for deliveryUpon pickup, they did not call prior to pick up to get inventory of my goods and therefore, this caused an increase in my costsThey also did not show me the weighing of my goods and would not adjust accordinglyNot only that, I try to contact BOTH companies numerous times a day and they do not answerWhen they do answer they say they do not have any information regarding my move currently and will return my phone call, however, they NEVER return my phone callThe way these businesses run is UNACCEPTABLEI have been living without furni

A sales employee from Open Road improperly informed me of the day my belongings would be delivered, and they had me waiting for 24+ hours for pickup
*** *** with Open Road was a sales representative that I originally spoke to on the 21st of July, I told him that my wife and I are moving from Raleigh, NC to Austin, TX and I need my things to be delivered by July 31st, 2018, which is the day I arrive at my new apartmentIf these phone calls were recorded, you would hear *** telling me that it should not be a problem, but he cannot guarentee delivery on that day due to unexpected things like car accidents or bad traffic
Because *** had given me this information, I felt confident that my wife and I would receive our belongings at the least close to when we expectedI signed the contract with Open Road, and was NOT given a copyI had to request this later*** set my first available delivery day as the 31stTo someone that has never moved before this appeared normal***
