OTHER DAY CARE (General Inquiries) Reviews (37)

[Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Regards,
[redacted]

Mr. [redacted] purchased the building from us on 6/11/2014 (See attached contract - 1). His building was delivered 10/6/2014 (see attached CONFIRMATION OF DELIVERY - 2).On 8/15/2014 he purchased a 12x11 Canister Roll up door and it was shipped out to him on 11/5/2014 (see attached COMPONENT ORDER -...

3).Mr. [redacted] contact us in July of 2015 to notify us of the missing canopies for his walk doors. We have a 30 day window after delivery to inform us of missing or damaged parts. “TERMS AND CONDITIONS. 4…. All claims for alleged damages to and shortages of goods within concealed containers (i.e. parts inside boxes or crates) shall be reported in writing to Seller within thirty (30) days of the date of delivery or the claims are waived.”(attached - 4) Even though Mr. [redacted] was well beyond that 30 day guarantee, we replaced those parts at no cost to him. (see attached INVOICE – 161663 - 5)In 12/2015 he contacted us to notify us that he had the wrong door size delivered. We offered to send out paneling to close up the difference in height and he refused this solution. Despite Mr. [redacted] being so far outside of the 30 day guarantee, the offer still stands. We feel this is a fair resolution.

None of our buildings come with doors.  Ms. J[redacted] was never charged for a door and
there is no door on the contract. Both mentions of the man are about location
only. There is no mention of us supplying the door itself. It also mentions the
garage doors, which we also did not supply. Victor...

offered to Ms. [redacted] a door
at cost and she was unsatisfied with that solution. The bottom line is she was
never promised a door and she was not charged for a door. If she would like to
order one, we would be more than happy to sell her one.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

UNIVERSAL STEEL BUILDINGS CORP OLYMPIA STEEL BUILDINGS 400 ISLAND AVENUE McKEES ROCKS, PA 15136 ###-###-#### ###-###-#### FAX: ###-###-#### Date: 6-15-16 RE: [redacted] Job number #[redacted] To: Revdex.com [redacted] #[redacted] Please be advised that Miss [redacted] signed a book letter confirming that...

the delivery of her building would be between 9-19-16 to 9-30-16. Since Mrs. [redacted] building only weighs 15,000 lbs. and flatbeds can carry upto 43,000 lbs., then the delivery of her building must be loaded with several other buildings, otherwise the freight cost would be prohibitive. Community freight is part of our contractual arrangement with our customers. As soon as the production schedule is finished then the freight department lines up the load and arranges for the trucking company for delivery. It is impossible prior to this to confirm a specific delivery date that is why a 2 week window is given for delivery. The customer is notified 2-3 days prior to delivery of their building so they can make arrangement for unloading it. Miss [redacted]’s building will be delivered by September 30, 2016 as agreed upon in the booking letter attached.Arnold D[redacted] President

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The assertion that Mr S[redacted] was in contact with me several times is an outright lie. The lack of communication is precisely the root of this complaint. I received no responses to my numerous emails and phone calls, which led to my filing this complaint. Any plans sent to me now are of no consequence. I have lost the window of opportunity to construct the building since I could not retain contractors due to the uncertainty caused by the lack of communication. The "excuse" that they were checking Florida codes as the cause of a 3 week delay is preposterous, since it is all available online and any information could have been derived in minutes, and still does not absolve them of their responsibility to timely communication. The company at the time of my complaint had expended no energy on my behalf, and had not engaged in any work product, and is only now attempting to mitigate those facts. The mere production of drawings which I have no confidence in their accuracy and now have no way of verifying since I have lost my contractors. I fear that should I continue with this company that my experience regarding the final delivery of the building itself will not be any different and that I will end up in a similar situation as evidenced by the numerous Revdex.com complaints against this company. I have already suffered injury due to the delay of my project and the only reasonable remedy is a full refund of my $  Regards,
[redacted]

We have refunded Mr. [redacted] $1,000 for his troubles and to help alleviate the cost of the fork lift.

The code in effect for 2018 are the 2017 changes and they have been available for 6 months. Additionally with respect to Steel buildings there were no changes from 2014. Again this is simply an excuse. To re-cap my original complaint. After they received my deposit, I never heard from them again until I filed this complaint, and only then did they send me the drawings only this week which are stamped "MUST RECEIVE BY Jan 26 2018" but I received on the 29th. I have no idea where they got that date from since I needed the drawings by the 15th. Other than that they have been completely silent and I have no confidence in receiving what I ordered in a timely fashion. Their intransigence only demonstrates their lack of customer service. They are at no loss what-so-ever and their refusal at this early stage in the process to simply refund my deposit further demonstrates that their only goal is to keep my deposit and not deliver what I originally ordered. They keep referring to their contract but fail to acknowledge their verbal promises on the phone where they DID make time commitments that I had made as a condition of my purchase. I was assured that I would have the drawings in 7 to 10 days. They also assured me that their drawings contained EVERYTHING required for permitting which turned out to be untrue. It has come to my attention that their drawings are insufficient for permitting. I also need to get a foundation plan from and engineer which will delay me even further and will cost me a considerable sum of money. I was deceived during their high pressure sales, and once they received my money, they went dark. Due to their unsavory business practices and delays my project has been scrapped. I have already spent thousands of dollars in preparation for this project which cannot proceed now because of their lack of communication which caused me great concern of being scammed, and the delays to date have caused me to lose my contractors. According to the salesmans' timeline, I should have been receiving the building in 2 weeks from now!I have been financially injured here, they have suffered no los whatsoever.I have not heard from them at all to this day, other than their responses here. Regards,

UNIVERSAL STEEL BUILDINGS CORP OLYMPIA STEEL BUILDINGS 400 ISLAND AVENUE McKEES ROCKS, PA 15136 ###-###-#### ###-###-#### FAX: ###-###-#### Date:  1-20-16 Dear Ms. [redacted], The customer requested a price on a building he anticipated he was going to build in 10 years.  Mr. B[redacted] gave him...

a prospective price.  The customer then stated he wanted to see foundation drawings.  Mr. B[redacted] explained that our company does not do foundation drawings.  Foundation drawings are designed by foundation engineers not civil engineers.  Once the building is sold the engineer of the manufacturing plant produces a permit drawing.  The drawings show the width, length, eve height, and the door openings. They also show elevations, kip reactions, and forces for each column.  The permit drawings enable the buyer to obtain a permit from the building department so they can start their project. The plans showing the kip reactions are taken by the client to a foundation engineer.  The foundation engineer take a certain number of boring tests on the site the client is going to build.  Using the kip reactions and boring tests the engineer can now design the piers, foundations and frost walls for the building.  Each foundation drawing is different as the soil conditions and kip reactions vary according to the building and soil conditions. Even after explaining this, the customer still insisted he wanted the foundation drawings. Mr. B[redacted] explained, again, that the company does not design foundation drawings nor do the manufacturing plants. The customer was quite rude and said that he was not impressed with the representative and said he was going to go elsewhere and hung up on Mr. B[redacted] We feel that the customer’s attitude and request were beyond reason. Sincerely, Arnold D[redacted] President

I went online to buy a metal building and saw a Revdex.com A + rated company Olympia Steel Buildings. I called the phone # on their site. The salesman (Greg B[redacted] ... no longer employed there according to Victor, made up a quote and said a complete set of drawings needed for me to attain a building permit would be sent to me. He indicated the delivery time is about 8 weeks out. When I received the drawings, the foundation plan was not included. Victor at Olympia said I don't get foundation plans. The Olympia site and the salesman say permit drawings are supplied.I emailed them saying I wanted to cancel the building if they don't come with drawings that l need for a permit. After further investigation, l see my sales contract says( [redacted] ) on it, with no Olympia name on it. My credit card was charged by( [redacted] ). Both these companies have poor reviews by Revdex.com and other organizations^ Documentation attached ) I realize now that all email communication with these people is ( [redacted] ) whoever they are ? I realize now, that during any phone contact with these companies, they never answer stating their company names.Olympia Steel Buildings phone number directs you to ([redacted] ). If you put an email request to Olympia , Olympia will respond. From then on, the other companies respond from then on..On October , 9, 2015,( [redacted] Steel Buildings ) emailed me stating my building was ready for shipping. I told them l never ordered a building from them. They said Olympia was just a trade name . It seems like a highly rated,(Olympia Steel Building ), cant be purchased?Fraud is what happened when I contacted a Revdex.com , A + rated company,( Olympia Steel Building), ordered abuilding with drawings needed to attain building permit, and was told I will not receive them............................................................................... ( Bait andSwitchEnclosed are some examples of these companies business practices.( want my deposit of $ 3,600.00 , because these companies can not be trusted.Thank you , [redacted] Ph # { ###-###-#### )

We apologize for the delay in getting Ms. [redacted]s building out to her in a timely manner. The building was produced and ready to ship on 2/15/16 and we were trying to arrange delivery for her accessories to be shipped in the same container as her building. There was a miscommunication...

between the freight forwarder [redacted]), our office, and the shipping container office. The building left the factory yesterday (3/30/16) and is to arrive at the port on 4/4/16. For her troubles we have given her a complimentary walk door and two (2) sky lights.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Additionally, the company is significantly improved their communication on the status of my shipment. I appreciate their quick response to this matter.
Regards,
[redacted]

Dear Jennifer,As per our conversation. I am submitting to you evidence that the companies assertion that they were waiting for building codes was a lie.Attached you will find an image of the webpage where the building codes may be reviewed by anyone. Here is the link:
[redacted]Attached are the 2017 codes, they did NOT change for 2018 as asserted by the company. Attached is also a document showing that the effective date for the 2017 codes in 2018.The Florida codes are based on National codes. For Florida they changed in 2014 and then 2017. There are no new codes for 2018.It took me less than 15 minutes to find this information and send to you. It should not have delayed my plans.Regards[redacted]

Tell us why here. In our 1/23/18 email we never stated that the FBC was amended in 2018. The FBC was amended in 2017. and those modifications, as applicable, were reflected in the stamped engineering drawings mailed thru UPS and also emailed to Mr. [redacted] on i/22/18 at 4:45 p.m.which Mr. [redacted] conveniently omits the latter from his response. Since  the contract was executed on 1/2/18, the engineering dept. needed to do the proper research to insure that no further modifications were required for 2018. As further noted in the 1/23/18 email, the research and drafting time together with the existing number of orders caused the delay in completing these stamped engineering drawings.MOST IMPORTANTLY THE CONTRACT WITH MR. [redacted] PROVIDES NO DATE TO HAVE DELIVERED HIS STAMPED ENGINEERING DRAWINGS.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The correct door has been ordered and the issue has been resolved. The customer has rescinded the complaint.Thank you.

I will not address past issues which Universal has already addressed in prior emails to the Revdex.com. However, there is a new issue Mr. [redacted] (MM)  raises which is that the drawings were "insufficient". Universal and MM executed an Agreement of Sale (Agreement) on January 2, 2018. Attached to this response is the Agreement and Exhibit 1. Exhibit 1 is a preliminary drawing, known as a CAD, a computerized aided drawing. Universal requires an Exhibit 1 to be attached to each and every Agreement for that Agreement to be valid. Exhibit 1 has nothing to do with obtaining a building permit. Repeatedly in MM emails to the Revdex.com, he refers to "getting the drawings". These "drawings" are known as permit drawings (PD). It is these PD,, and not the CAD, which the building permit office (BPO) generally requires to issue a building permit (although with thousands of BPO throughout the U.S., some BPO require as little as a handwritten drawing on a napkin!!). If MM took the CAD to the BPO, that is why this drawing was "insufficient" for the BPO to issue their building permit. If however, it is the PD which MM is referring to as "insufficient", note that each BPO has its own nuances which may require modifications. Should that event take place, PRIOR TO MANUFACTURING, as it is [redacted]s case, it is Universal's policy in this case and all cases where Buyers having the same status as **, to modify these PM at no charge. However,at this time, one must ask the question why ** is raising the above issue 15 days after he first filed his complaint with the Revdex.com!!In any event, the controlling factor in this matter is page 3 of the Agreement and Exhibit 1 attached, subsection 12, 1st three (3) sentences of the Terms and Conditions specifically state as follows:""Buyer is solely responsible for investigating and ascertaining all zoning by laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances and all building codes and building code requirements applicable in and to the area or territory where the building or structure purchased hereunder is to be erected ("Building Laws") in order to satisfy himself that the building or structure conforms to all applicable Building Laws. Buyer is solely responsible for designing a building or structure that will fit Buyer's particular needs from the components offered for sale by Seller and that complies with all applicable Building Laws and for providing Seller with the specifications therefore. All specifications for the building or structure purchased hereunder set forth on the face hereof have been provided to Seller by Buyer based on Buyer's own due diligence, judgement, and determination as to Buyer's erection location, use and occupancy requirements and the requirements necessary for the building or structure to comply with all applicable Buildings Laws".Once again ** is requesting a refund of his deposit notwithstanding his failure to read the Agreement he executed and the Terms and Conditions and Exhibit 1 he initialed.

We are terribly sorry for the delay in delivery. We have worked the issue out and Mr. [redacted] has rescinded his complaint. His materials will delivery Monday, December 7th.
