Purchased new Pontoon Boat and can't get Outpost to give tag to trailer and repair damage to boat.
On 1/5/18 purchased a Lowe Pontoon Boat, had to wait for motor and seat change and extra bimini top and stereo install until 30 days later 2/5/18 to pick up. was told at time of sale that it was standard to get a aluminum trailer. and the bimini top was a Lowe part there was damage to the seats they said feral cat. Went to P/U boat and Bimini top was After Market and different color, stereo speaker where off centered which they fixed, the seats (2) one is still ripped Boat was on a Galvanized trailer. was told they would credit the Bimini top for the difference on trailer to upgrade to aluminum trailer (out $800) was suppose to be included. Seat on it's way from dealer still do not have 45 days later and no tag for trailer expired 3/3/18 was told that's not there problem I'm waiting on secondary company that does there title work. unable to use boat for almost 20 days now because tag is expired. 90 days of boat 50 days unusable so far because of Outpost Marines inability to perform.

Desired Outcome

Would like the bench seat replaced in rear of boat Would like trailer tag would like this done in timely manor.

Mrs. has of last week received her tag, her registration, and her cushions from Lowe (the cushions was a factory warranty issue; not an issue on part of us as a dealer).

I consider this matter closed as of this point. We owe her nothing further.

1 Star because these guys are complete liars and thieves!!! It's definitely true they treat you awesome when you're buying a boat from them. They took advantage of a first time boat boat buyer and it makes me sick. I bought the boat on a Sunday, took it out on Lake Tarpon for 2-3 hours with an experienced boater. Noticed it was hard to steer left. We took the boat out and I called Doug first thing Monday morning. He was cool and picked it up that day. Long story short they tried to say we hit something based on what the prop looked like. Doug and Dave...don't try and argue this because I have pictures of the prop before taking it out and I noticed it was a little dinged up but was okay with that. I finally had enough of waiting and then dodging my phone calls and blaming me for stuff I didn't do I just picked up my boat on Friday. (BTW, while the boat was at the shop someone took a nice chunk out of the back of the boats hull.) I had a boat mechanic look at it for me and you can clearly tell when the prop is off that the prop shaft is bent. Now this has me questioning everything about this boat that I just spent 20K on. My next step is to bring it to a Yamaha dealer that has the software to check the hours because I have a feeling they lied about the low hours on the motor too. I have screenshots of their advertisement for the boat dated the day I bought it and I have someone that was with me when I bought the boat when they verbally said how many hours are on it. If this is not the case when I get the diagnostic back I'm going to gladly file a lawsuit. Doug, Dave and Howie should all be ashamed of themselves for the deceptive tactics they use!!!

Just bought a boat at Outpost. Have been dealing with Doug P..
Doug is knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy. Actually, he's more of a facilitator than a salesman. He seems to be concerned with more than the sale. He looks for customer satisfaction.
If you go to look at or buy a boat and you don't ask for Doug P., you might be making a mistake

The most horrible customer service and sales I have ever dealt with. Called interested in purchasing a boat. Was harassed with texts 6-7 times a day even when I said I would call them back when ready. Things like, "call now!! someone else is on their way to put a deposit down but it can still be yours if you just put a deposit" . to.. "great news, my boss said I can take another 1,000 off!! which).. which was a total lie and bait and switch, and happened MULTIPLE times. We finally settled on a price and when we called back with a couple more questions we were told the boat would now be FOUR THOUSAND more than the written quote we had in hand. We said no of course, and had never heard of anyone now saying it would be 4000 more than our WRITTEN quote (the quote changed about 5 times in our dealings and were all over the place) Chris the sales reps than thought he hung up the phone and proceeded to say things like "they can shove it up their *&# etc - which I have recorded because I always record my calls when making purchases. It was the most unprofessional and sketchy situtation I have ever dealt with from a vendor. I would recommend STAYING AWAY

First and foremost, there is no 'bait-and-switch,' etc. regarding this deal. The negotiations were on a 2017 Monterey 238SS Roswell Surf Edition. This is a leftover 2017 model as we are no longer a Monterey dealer and are clearing them out. We offered Mrs Slotsve and her husband a deal on this particular unit for a below-invoice cost in interest of disposing it to a retail customer rather than sending it back to the manufacturer or another dealer.

The misunderstanding in the deal came from the cost of the custom-fabricated trailer necessary to fit this boat. This particular model has a reverse outdrive and requires a special trailer to safely and properly accommodate the boat. The $4000 additional quoted actually reflects our invoice cost on such a trailer from Continental Trailers. Additionally, the owner attempted to make good on the originally-quoted price by offering an additional $1000 discount to the customer.

As far as the alleged statements made by their sales rep, Chris - who did not give prior consent to a call being recorded - the customer misheard a conversation between himself and another employee not related to this transaction.

This is actually untruth also, the misunderstanding did not come down to the trailer, because when we offered to buy it at the end without the trailer, chris said he made a mistake on the quote and could not sell the boat at that price. We also have that inadvertently recorded because we were recording a deer in our yard and it recorded our entire conversation. So if there is any confusion as to what was said, although not planned, it was captured on our video.

Additionally, when reviewing these complaints, there is a very clear pattern to this dealer. I must point that out, although, I think it is obvious to anyone searching for a boat. It may look like an amazing deal, but not sure it will work out, or is worth it in the long run. Proceed with caution

This customer's complaint revolves around not being satisfied with the quoted price. Regardless, they did not leave a deposit, purchase a boat, etc. so they are not even really a customer. We have hundreds of satisfied customers - and some unsatisfied ones as does any retail business of our scale - but we do the best to ensure satisfaction in every case. We're sorry we could not offer this customer a price even further below invoice than we already did.
