Paradigm Custom Homes Reviews (%countItem)

We built a brand new custom home with Paradigm and took possession of said home on February 17, 2017 after signing off and paying all extras. To date, the exterior of home has not been completed even though we have contacted them numerous times through email, text messages, phone calls and visits to their office. Each time we are given the false pretense that it will be completed and that work will be done and nothing happens. We have even contacted the lawyers involved in the build to no avail. We have been professional and courteous throughout the entire process and would just like to have our home completed before year end. We have dealt with both owners Jeff and Gerry and the office manager Pascale and get no results. We have been told in the past that work would be done and or workers would be coming to the home to do work they don't show up and don't call to cancel or reschedule. The items that are still outstanding are the exterior stucco (scratch and acrylic finish on the entire exterior minus the front of the home), Cladding of the second floor balcony beams, eavestroughs and downspouts, painting of all exterior doors, replacement of damaged hardie board siding on front of house, front cement stairs has large bubbles that need to be filled/repaired, grading of entire yard front and back, front doors and balcony doors to not close properly and are not sealed (company that installed them said this is a builder issue as they came out and checked and adjusted as best they could. You can see a crack in the middle of the doors where there is a space which allows the wind, water, and snow to blow through), Grout in master bedroom ensuite bath is crumbling in the shower, various interior doors needs to be adjusted as they do not close properly and or rub, vent missing under kitchen sink.

Desired Outcome

Finish the job We would like a clear timeline of when the work on the exterior of our home will be completed and for the workers to show up when expected or at the very least a phone call if something comes up with a date and time to reschedule the missed appointment.

This home was built in the remaining months of the winter season. All of the exterior work relating to masonry could not be completed until the weather permitted.
We have one stucco contractor, as is the case with almost every one of our trades / contractors which the client was made aware of prior to signing a Building Contract with Paradigm Custom Homes.
There home had the cement scratch coat completed early summer.
The client then disputed some of the finishing on the exterior of the home in that it should be paid for by Paradigm, even though we gave them credit back on our final statement of adjustments for the disputed work. Client denied this and began communication through the lawyer. Paradigm provided documentation proving that they had been credited for the disputed work. Client then ceased communication through the lawyer and made the decision to file this complaint.
The finish coat of stucco was completed on Sept 14th. All the remaining work that they are claiming isn't being done (downspouts, lot grading, exterior doors painted) could not take place until the finish coat of stucco was done. That work is now on the job board to commence the week of Sept 17 weather permitting.
The exterior cladding for the upper balcony was an item client claims that they weren't to be charged for even though it was discussed prior to the blueprints being changed after the contract had been signed. After numerous email communication Paradigm came to the plate and offered to do the work at OUR cost. The client needed to select the colour of the product and the one that was selected was a new custom colour which we have been waiting on to arrive. It is set to arrive the week of Sept 17 and will be installed as soon as it does.
The kitchen toe kick grille cover we normally install could not be installed because the cabinet supplier they decided to use cut the opening an irregular size. We are awaiting for the cabinet supplier to replace the toe kick and cut the opening the correct size.
All the interior doors have been adjusted, this is an item usually addressed at our 1 year warranty walkthrough, it is a result of shrinkage of wood in the home which is normal.
The exterior doors have also been adjusted.

I will send you the email thread which entails all of the communication between Paradigm and customer which will indicate how Paradigm has done nothing BUT try to reason with the customer to enable us to complete the exterior of the home and in fact we have absorbed over $4,000 worth of cost which we were not obligated to in trying to keep customer happy as usual.
