They're not transparent and will mislead you only care about your money On Tuesday July 21st I called in to make an enquiry the call took about 5 mins. I spoke to *** he answered my question and asked me for credit card to activate file. I gave to him I recieved correspondence through email few minutes after getting of the phone. I read through the package and notice their services wasn't good for me as they are expensive that I thought so I replied to he emailed requesting refunded. Today Wednesday July 22nd I got an email that my refund request has been approved less $95 for administrative fees because they open a file for me and sent me email . During the call I was not made aware of any administration fees. I emailed them today about why I wasn't told over the phone and this is their reply.

(If you had asked the counsellor over the phone if there were any administration fees that were non refundable they would have told you. This is not something that needs to be said verbally and voluntarily. We assume all clients are going to move forward with the application in good faith. We understand your situation may change, however this is why we have a refund policy that is included with your receipt.

You may take further action as you see fit, however, as mentioned previously our decision on the refund is final.)

Also I was automatically given the premium plan the highest had I not read the email I wouldn't even I noticed there were two plan options. They claim to be non profit but base on my experience and interaction with them they are money hungry and doesn't care about helping you.

Desired Outcome

I need the full $250 deducted fromy credit card to be refunded back. I was not told of any administration fees nor did I signed anything or verbally agreeing to administration fees policy

***, you called us to remove your *** offence and we set up a file and paid people to do so. We agreed to stop your file and issue a refund but there is a small admin fee as we used your funds to open your account. Regardless, as a courtesy we will refund the $95 fee and close your file.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
They gave me the refund on Friday August 7th

I have initiated pardon process with Pardons Canada couple of years ago.
I have paid over $700 for higher tier service because they claimed that the paperwork they file will be filed faster and that someone will be in contact with me regularly.
I have sent all required documents including RCMP fingerprinting last year. I think in total they have sent back couple of emails and no physical correspondence.
I have inquired about the status of my file this week and was told that I have to pay $400 more for processing because my file is "dormant".
I have never received any correspondence from them and they are telling me that my file is "dormant"
So now after paying initial fee they want more money to continue working on my file.

Desired Outcome

I am asking for $400 fee for "reactivation of my file to be waived

Pardons Canada Response • Jul 08, 2020

we mailed you a no compliance back in Feb. 2019 because you never completed the final instructions.

If the file goes dormant for more than one year than we charge a re-activation fee as we need to pay people to do the work again.

It seems like you never got that correspondence. If you still have the instructions we sent you a year ago and go ahead and complete those and email them to us then we will waive the re-activation fee.

Pardons Canada Response • Jun 15, 2020

Alan, you called us with a request to remove your *** offence from 2017 which was withdrawn. You gave us all types of personal information including the fact that you are a ***, born in *** and wanted to be safe to pass a criminal check for a job you were applying to. We have been helping people remove criminal records for over 30 years and help many thousands of people each year to obtain a pardon, record suspension, file destruction and US entry Waiver.
You called us to cancel the next day and we obliged and provided a full refund.

You were verbally *** to our staff and used intimidating tactics that were unacceptable.

There are thousands of people each year whom we have helped

I have worked closely with Pardons Canada over the past number of years and they have been exemplary in the way they conduct business with clients. One of the more professional National organizations I have had the pleasure of encountering.

. They just keep taking money from you with no results. They dont tell you what the final amount is upfront and just when you think you're done paying, they charge you more.

Pardons Canada Response • Jan 23, 2020

Carrie, everyone must pay the Receiver General fee of $631 to approve your file.

You have multiple criminal offences to which we have collected all the paperwork to get your pardon granted though you failed to follow the final instructions to do a local police check to prove to the government you have been out of trouble in the recent past.

There would have been no additional charges from Pardons Canada but you failed to follow our instructions so there is a re-activation fee applicable since we have to pay people again to do the paperwork on your file.

Customer Response • Jan 28, 2020

There were no instructions given and no contact from Pardons Canada regarding my final steps. In my initial application, a lost of all expenses should have been provided, especially if, like you mentioned, the $631 is something that everyone has to pay. Otherwise it appears as though you are hiding something. All expenses, steps, and required paperwork to he submitted should be provided upfront. It was not. I did not receive anything via mail as you keep mentioning. I also love the mention of "multiple criminal offenses" as if to discredit my justified complaint of your actions. That in itself is bad business practice and a complete disregard for my confidentiality.

Pardons Canada Response • Feb 04, 2020

Carrie, the fee of $631 payable to the Receiver General is clearly marked on the invoice you received and which you would have signed and agreed to. Also, it mentions that there may be a fee payable to the local police for the final local police check which is also clearly stated on the invoice which you received when you started your file. We are here to help.

I was in contact with pardons Canada with plans for a trip to Disney World this April. I was told by them the process could take up to a year. I was fine with that and planned to not go until the Pardon was processed and completed (up to a year). I paid them 1000$ and never heard from them again. They make it extremely difficult to contact them, and never once contacted me. Once they had their money I never heard from them. after managing to get in touch I was assured my file was moving forward and that they would update me in October. Never happened! After a couple of more emails sent I received one telling me I would be eligible for the application in February 2022. Making the process a total of 3 years. I then had enough and asked for a refund, which I was told I was not eligible. ***.*** They are only after the money and claim to be a non profit. A complete disregard for the customer. ***!

Pardons Canada Response • Jan 09, 2020

Corey, you were never denied entry to the US so you do not need a US Waiver. You have two DUIs that were eligible for the pardon but we discovered you paid the fine late by 6 years. This was only discovered once we got your court records. This pushed back your eligibility date by 6 years. Regardless, you may be safe to travel before your pardon is granted but there are some precautions you need to make which we can speak to you about.

I paid this company $481.00 for my file I started ***, I lost all the paper work, when I called years ago to locate my file I was told that they could not locate the file, and requested I just pay more money and start the file again. I have recently located the a file from the company Acknowledging my payment. When I called the company I was told that they would only credit me $200.00 towards my file if I paid more money to restart my file. I was talking with *** the supervisor, he was very *** on the phone and hung up, I called back to speak to another supervisor, and was told he was the only contact. At this point I rather not deal with this company but would like my money $481.00 return to start the process else where.

Desired Outcome

At this point I would my money returned so that I can find another company to help me through this process.

***. Our policy is that files are shredded if they are not completed by the applicant or if the balance is not paid after one year. You are calling us many years later.

We have agreed to honor a portion of your payment you made over 10 years ago of $200, we think that is more than fair.

We can complete your pardon application and provide a $200 discount but you will need to call us to get it started.

Also, in order to prove that you really did make a payment 10 years ago, we will need to see a copy of your receipt as you are no longer in our database.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I would rather a refund of the $200.00. After speaking to the supervisor is has become apparent flip me that this is not a reputable company, and I choose to do business else where.

Pardons Canada Response • Nov 25, 2019

You made a payment over 10 years ago. How can you reasonably expect a refund?. What company in Canada would give you a refund for a service that was supposed to be provided 10 years ago and that you never completed because you did not pay the balance owing nor follow the instructions for us to complete the service. We can send you $50 as a courtesy to the Revdex.com if you send us your address we will send a cheque.

Customer Response • Dec 05, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Wether is was 10 years ago not it is still money I paid. and actually as an example, there are two other companies from the same time period that I had the same issues with, but they have both offered me a full refund

They say they are a legit business, well then why have they taken my monies for a total of $644 (option 2, Urgent) in 2011 and not a [redacted] thing done yet from them. I also did all the ground work of finger prints and additional info as I was military and since retired. They recently sent me some [redacted] excuse that the government is behind in their case load but I could pay again to start process over which would be faster, oh and pay them again. I am also wondering how they could cash a money order I sent for the Receiver General of Canada for government costs? As obviously, they did not send my request to the actual government for a pardon. Yes, I have tried to contact them via phone and e mail but no response. Now that I am retired, I have time to call them [redacted] And yes, I have all sent and received documentation from this so called company.

On April 25th, 2016 I place a payment to pardons.org to complete the pardoning process for a criminal record I attained in 2012.

I was assured by the gentleman on the phone that the laws were changing for Marijuana and that I would be pardoned swiftly and that the process would be easy if I started my file soon.

On November 24th, 2016 I received an email from them letting me know that they received my court documents

On January 16th of 2018 I received another email letting me know I would be receiving two packages in the mail with paperwork. I completed the paperwork and promptly sent it in the envelope provided.

On February 8th of 2018 I received another email letting me know I was in the last stage of the pardoning process and that I would be receiving two more packages.

I did not receive these packages and was not sent any further emails about them, Due to the scheduling of my work I am unable to contact them during their working hours and when I left messages on their website I did not receive any calls back even though I left an email address and phone number, I was sure that in time the mail would eventually come.

On April 26th of 2019 I had my mother contact the company during their working hours for me to try and get through, The lady on the phone was very *** and harsh to my mother but she was able to get a number that I could contact them during my break.

When I called the number, the lady on the phone told me that because a period of time had passed and I did not receive or send back these packages that my pardon was now expired and the parole board DENIED my request because of this.

Another reason for being denied was apparently that our address had changed even though I informed my previous lanlord about the potential for this circumstance and to keep an eye out daily and I had also paid the post office to forward my mail.

When I contacted the post office they said they did not ever receive these packages and that if they did hit the wrong address they would have been sent back to pardons and NOT be lost in the mail as they claim.

The lady from pardons informed me that I would have to wait a period of time and reapply again.

I was not happy with this conclusion so I called the parole board myself and was informed that this was NOT true and that they were still happily and patiently waiting for my paperwork and were willing to exclude this 3rd party company and help me themselves.

Being upset that I had already paid this company a very significant amount of money for a young adult I decided to update my address with them and continue with pardons.org

What has finally driven me to make this complaint though is that I went to the local police station with some questions about my criminal record and I was informed by the ladies that this website is *** known to give people the runaround with paperwork and waste their time, ***

The ladies at the police station also offered to help me through the pardoning process themselves free of charge, And once I shared some of the details of the paperwork I filled out through pardons, Such as asking me what my current job is and what changes I've made in my life.

I was also told that absolutely none of these things matter in the pardoning process and that the parole board really on cares about verifying that you do not have any further offences.

All of this has caused massive delays,***,financial troubles and worries in my life and at this point I just want it all to be over.

If I even wanted to pursue a pardon on my own I would have to gather the legal documentation that this company has "lost"

This is all very damaging and I seek a resolution

Desired Outcome

I have seen other people with similar complaints receive refunds and I feel that it is fair if I were to also receive a partial refund as they did. I would also like my legal documentation back and the credit card information wiped from their system to prevent any further charges.

Pardons Canada Response • May 21, 2019

Contact Name and Title: ***Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX x*Contact Email: ***@pardons.orgWe can definitely not issue a refund as we have already paid people to do all the paperwork to submit your application. The Parole Board is considering denying your pardon because of poor conduct on your behalf in 2014 for *** and 2018 for getting a police warning. Pardons Canada is set up to complete your application and hopefully make sure it gets approved, but a person's conduct is beyond our control when they make a decision.Regardless, you have an opportunity to contest the denial and we can help with that as we already told you.

Customer Response • May 27, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I have just received the letter they sent out and began doing investigating myself as I still have not heard from you personally in any format. The local police station did some digging around and the point they made about "***" appears to only be a report that someone made and not anything holding actual merit. As for *** I am also trying to get in contact with a local officer to share his story of what actually happened. As it stands I would like to take these next steps on my own behalf, I can't say that my feelings for this service have changed as I still feel like I was *** and sugar coated a few times throughout the process and the cost to benefit are very poor.

they took payment for 18 months for a total of $3,500 for a pardon an USA waiver now they won't answer my calls or return any message since October when the last payment came off my credit card .
*** is who I have been working ***. *** I would like to know how to get my money back ***. I called the other day and pretend I was a new client asked for *** and he came on the phone right away but before that I would call ask to speak to him and they would always say he's not in he will call me back until I pretending to be someone else. He never called me back or email me.

Desired Outcome

I would just like my money back

Pardons Canada Response • May 02, 2019

I want my money back now as we have not availed any services from them.

Contact Name and Title: *** DirectorContact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: ***@pardons.org*** we have done extensive work on your file and we have detailed notes. The bottom line is that the Parole Board will not give you the pardon because you cannot get local police checks from the countries that you have lived for the past 5 years. We have done everything we can to complete your file which you started in 2016. As a courtesy to the Revdex.com we are sending you back all of your documents so that you can complete on your own if you are able to complete the final instructions. I urge the Revdex.com to consider this case closed as we have done everything in our power to complete this file and this individual continues to berate our staff and make demands that are absolutely beyond our control. Here is a copy of the notes we have from the past few months on your file:12/12/2018 ...*** = rec'd file in Client Care > this file is a problem when it comes to address history. Does not help that the client is extremely hard to work with and provides inconsistent information. He provided AS with an address history over the phone today. Client states he was never in Toronto in the past 5 years but his RCMP states otherwise as there is a Toronto address on his RCMP dated 2016. He also will need to do a China LPC. Looks like client is just not understanding this, and not understanding he needs to do an LPC in each jurisdiction. Going to make this real clear for him. And if he has any issues he can respond to the Client Care email directly.Emailed client:Today you spoke with one of our representatives and you were able to break down your address history timeline. The Parole Board of Canada requires you to complete a local police check or letter of conduct for every jurisdiction that you have lived in within the past 5 years. You have stated that you were only in Toronto from January 2011 to May 2011 however your RCMP report is dated September 16, 2016 and shows an address of *** Ave in Toronto, Ontario ***. Unfortunately, as a result you will be required to complete a local police check with the Toronto Police. In addition, since you lived in China within the past 5 years, you will be required to obtain a letter of conduct from China as well. We have received these from clients in the past from China. We would advise that you request a letter of conduct from China or contact the Canadian embassy in China. You may also contact the Chinese embassy in Vietnam.Lastly your Vietnam letter of conduct is going to expire in January of 2019 and a new one will be required.Pardons Canada will be sending you your final documents to complete along with these police check requests.

Paid the $250 to begin the process of file destruction. Decided to cancel the service because Travis didn't mention any of the details of the process like having to pay get fingerprints done and having to travel to another city 100kms away to do that. I didn't sign anything. I requested a refund they gave me $175 back and kept $75 for some *** service processing fee. I started a dispute with my credit card company for the $75. Andrew T. sold me on his "Express Pardon" which I was told would take 6 months max. T. misrepresented himself over the phone by stating that his organization was affiliated with the Federal Government of Canada. After paying to entire fee upfront I was immediately bait-and-switched and told to visit his colleague "next door" to "obtain fingerprints" for an additional cash fee.
From then on it has been one bad experience after another. His secretary Tracy M./L. repeatedly emailed me repeatedly asking for more documents, statement letters, giving me the run around while they sit on their non-profit as.
As of now, it has been over 3 years and my file is still not complete.
