Issue: Terribly cheated by a Moving company based out of Florida
Hello Sir,
I was a resident of New Jersey and lived there for 20 years, then we decided to move to California. So I looked up for a moving company. Over the internet search I for a company with the name Patriotmovinggroup.com . I called them up and discussed the guy on the phone sounded very gentle and professional and I trusted him (my biggest stupidity). I told him that I need to move my stuff around July 7th or 8th,2019. And we discussed the price for moving and immediately he said if I book right way he will take 10-15% down payment and confirm the detail right away. Innocently I agreed. Then we send me a contract, I signed and paid down $1400. He then said, he doesn't have a truck available on 7yh but can do 2nd or 3rd. I said it might be too early. So I tried to see if we could manage to packing. Soon our realtor called and said the buyer is backing out. All this happens in 6 hours time. So I called Mr Brad the sales agent from patriotmovinggroup.com and cried that my buyer has backed out. So I am not sure if we can move. This person said nothing except I will call you back. A lady came on the phone about 1 hr later and said you are in contact, we won't refund the money. Cry it at you credit card company, no one can stop us now. I called Bank of America as I paid on their CC, cried the whole story. After about 6 months they said because the vendor got my signature they can't do anything. And I had to pay $1400 only because business initiations are allows to cheat innocent customer and no one does anything about it.
I request you to intervene and talk to this business and have them return my $1400 and stop them from further cheating innocent people. Business rule must be strict enough to not allows for cheat so people can trust conversations while dealing with business.
Paying $1400 is a big money that I am still paying and crying every single day.
The cheating company is:
Patriot Moving Group LLC
5455 N Federal Hwy, Suite P
Boca Raton, FL XXXXX
Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Fax: XXX-XXX-XXXX
DOT #: XXXXXXX MC #: XXXXXX

Hope someone sees the reason of my pain.
Thanks

Desired Outcome

This company is a cheat company, it traps people buy promising the roof and then forges the documents and changes the fine print and doing so have looted my $1400. I need a full refund of my money. This company must be shut down for cheating people so no further person can ever be cheated like I have been. They should be caught in state/ federal law to punish them legally fir being such cheats.

I started with this company to move my mother's things from Mil., WI to metro Atl., GA on 7/20/2019. We still have no delivery date.
Based on the invoice number Company Invoice - AXXXXXXX, we were supposed to have confirmation of delivery date by 9/10/2019. They company hasn't contacted me. I contacted them and after being hung up on 4 times, I was told that there is no date of delivery as of 9/9/2019. I have already paid them over $1400 and the company expects me to pay them another $1000 upon delivery. They wouldn't give me a delivery when I called on 9/9/2019. It's been nearly two months since I started this transaction and I believe it is completely ridiculous to have to wait this long for delivery.

Desired Outcome

I would like my items delivered as contracted.

Patriot Moving Group Response • Sep 10, 2019

Hello,

Ms. was informed after her pick up that she needed to pay 50% of her balance as she did not pay anything at the time of pick up in order for the goods to proceed through the delivery process. This in its self caused a delay in the delivery because payment had not be received until after 8/8/19 when the pick up took place on 7/21. Ms. also stated on her pick up paperwork that her first available date for delivery would be 8/3. Pick up payments are typically made at the time of pick up and the remainder is paid upon delivery. The goods are in transit and will be arriving this weekend. The driver and customer service will reach out to you with an update once one is available.

I will not accept the response until I am contacted with a delivery date and time, and the delivery is made with all of the items intact.

Patriot Moving Group Response • Sep 16, 2019

Hello,

After contacting the dispatcher it was communicated that your goods are to be loaded onto the delivery trailer on Monday 9/16 and then put into transit. The driver will contact you once he is in route.

Called and Emailed July and August for status of submitting a claim. Got the run around. Called on Friday 08/31/19 and was told the company no longer had a claim department, but they would give us $100.00 for all the damaged and missing items. We request $,1000.00

Entire bedroom set
One End table
One Large TV/Stereo table
Nine Collectable Clocks
Two Baking Dishes
Ten Collectibles

Missing:
Two Executive Chairs ($250.00 Each)
One Box of Toiletries ($100.00)
One Box of Baking Pans ($300.00)
One Amazon Echo ($50.00)

Desired Outcome

Requesting $1000.00 for the damaged and missing items. We called and left voicemails for two months. Rep told us that they were "closing" for a few days because they had many missing items. Told we could not file a claim until they checked their warehouse first. We have gone 4 weeks with no contact and called on 08/30/19. On 08/30/19 and were told there was no claim dept. They offered us $100.00 after being very rude. We hung up.

Patriot Moving Group Response • Sep 10, 2019

Hello,

Can you please provide us with your order ID number so we can locate your file. The name you have listed here does not pull any file with our company. If you need assistance with claims we can definitely assist you but your file needs to be found and the motor carrier needs to be contacted to see if claims are completed in house or through a 3rd party claims service. Once this information is submitted you can then process your claim.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I accept that the business needs additional information but not that the matter has been resolved. The information they requested follows:

1. The name on the invoice would be my husband, ***
2. The order number is KXXXXXXX.
3. The pick up date was 06/06/19.
I have not included pictures of the damaged furniture and items, but I do have pictures, if needed.

Wonderful company. I spoke with a young man named Daniel and he helped me out with everything. I mean literally everything. He was extremely polite and patient with me. The move went well as I'm currently in my new home. This review is in hopes that the owners see this and praise him. BY all means give Daniel a call when moving for all your moving needs.

Unfair price negligence they told me one price of $2324 charged me $5161
I hired a company called PATRIOT MOVING GROUP,LLC located in the state of Florida they are a broker in a moving company operation. They basically broker moving deals with national companies nationwide to move people from State to State. Here is my story as follows I contacted this company on July 3rd,2019 and hired this moving company to set up a move for me under the understanding that it would only cost me $790.56 down payment for the moving services from MN to AZ I was told this would cost me $2324.52 total for the move from MN to AZ. Which later I was re-informed that this would now cost me an additional $212.00 in which I paid on July 13th, 2019. The breakdown of the charges ended up being $5,161.51 I paid $1,002.56 down payment originally was told $2324.52 we ended up having to pay an additional $1,900.00 down ,and $2,258.95 once our things were finally delivered to the address in Surprise, Az bear in mind that our things were picked up on July 16th, 2019 we didn't get our things delivered to us until July 28th, 2019 I was hung up on by the delivery driver of the trucking company that was hired out by Patriot Moving Group, LLC the contact person at this company is named *** he is the owner at XXX-XXX-XXXX the company is located in the State of Iowa. I understand that this is a 3rd party to the broker I hired , but I feel we we're totally mislead by this broker in the fee's we we're charged after reviewing the reviews I feel this is something that the CFPB really needs to dig deep into. To realize how many millions of Americans are being defrauded out of thousands of dollars needs to be investigated ,and I feel truly looked into. This company Patriot Moving Group, LLC ,and the company they hired to move us ( Moving Services DSM Llc out of Johnston,Iowa ) DOT# 2874251 VIN# FNXXXXXX mislead us in abusive negligence practices. This is a practice that is going on with this company on a very very wide scale ,and needs to be looked into.

Desired Outcome

They need to make right on their original estimate you can't twell the customer one thing then charge them another

Patriot Moving Group Response • Aug 09, 2019

Hello,

Patriot Moving Group has a 3 page agreement that is in bold lettering and no fine print that discusses the fact that we are a broker and also goes over in detail accessorial Services and additional fees. At the time of the original booking this agreement is sent to the customer for their review and they must electronically sign this in agreement to the terms and policies. After the services are booked the customer is then sent to our verification department where all details are gone over for a second time. The customer is notified 3 to 5 days prior to their first pick up date window by quality assurance were this information is gone over a third time and the inventory and complete file is reviewed in order to have the over the phone estimate as accurate as possible. Mr Atkins originally booked his move with an inventory of 18 items / 56 pieces then during QA adjusted to 32 items / 93 pieces which of course will adjust the total of his move because he is reserving more space/labor. When our foreman arrived at Mr. location a walk through is completed and the over the phone estimate is compared to what is actually physically onsite. If a revision is necessary because of additional goods or additional services such as particular packing needs then this will be explained to the customer on site and agreed upon prior to any loading of goods. Mr. was relocating a total of 1757 miles. The estimated time frame for a move this size is between 8 and 17 days. The foreman delivered Mr. items in 11 days. This is also taking into consideration that the foreman has to follow DOT policies in reference to miles per day driven and hours per day driving and the time of year Mr. is relocating. June/July and August are the busiest time of the year for moving due to the summer season and some delays can occur. Mr. never called in the customer service department expressing any concerns in regards to price or time frames and apologize if he is not satisfied in the services rendered. His goods were picked up and delivered with in the time frames given to him. Please see the attached cc authorization forms for the original deposit and the QA deposit for changing the space reservation prior to pick up. Attached is also the signed 3 page agreement that thoroughly goes over in detail every aspect of the moving process.

Over charged period price gouged

Patriot Moving Group Response • Sep 10, 2019

Hello,

Patriot Moving Group only charged a deposit of $1002.56 and the remaining balances were paid directly to your motor carrier. Your agreement states that if you go over the original estimated volume then you are responsible for $3.78 per any additional cubic footage you are taking up. You indeed had more items and need additional services. Everything in our agreement is very clear.

3 months to deliver and Not compensating for the delay as promised !!
I hired Patriot moving group for my move from Dearborn, MI to Fort Worth TX. My stuff was picked up on April 12th and delivered on July 10th. This is 3 long months. During this period, I would have called the company 100 times checking my status, but they never bothered. They just kept delaying and kept giving one excuse after the other.

I was later promised that after 30 working days, I will be compensated $25 per day. So when the delivery was made, I was expecting a payment of ($25*45 days= $1125). However the driver refused to pay anything and I was made to pay for the balance amount. I called up the company and they said, they cannot help and I should pay the balance, if I want the stuff delivered today.

this is total blackmail and daylight robbery by this company. I have the email from the company where they clearly said that I will be compensated $25 per day for each delay after 30 working days.

My family suffered for this 3 months, as we had no bed, mattress sofa, no cooking utensils and no toys for my kid. I explained my hardship to the customer service people of this company, but no action was taken to expedite my shipping. It is inhuman to take 3 months for shipping. My family spent quarter of a year living in an empty apartment, and all because of Patriot moving group.

Desired Outcome

Business should refund me the compensation as promised by them for the delay.

Patriot Moving Group Response • Aug 09, 2019

Hello,

Patriot Moving Group assisted Mr. through his entire relocation process. Yes, Mr ***'s particular move had a large delay because of the location he was original picked up at and Patriot Moving Group had an issue with his particular carrier relaying different information to us. Patriot Moving Group of course was very sympathetic to Mr ***'s situation and did all we could in assisting him through this hardship. Patriot Moving Group was informed by the carrier that they would be compensating Mr. because of their tardiness and this is what was communicated to Mr. from Patriot Moving Group. After Patriot Moving Group was informed that the carrier had not fulfilled their promise to Mr. Patriot Moving Group terminated their contractual ties with the carrier and assisted Mr. in filing the appropriate dispute against the carrier.

Customer Response • Aug 09, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
hi, thanks for the response.
I do not agree that Patriot moving company explanation did all they could. When the carrier was delaying, they never bothered to make alternate arrangements, I requested them so many times. When delay surpassed *** working days, compensation promise was made to me by the Patriot moving company to me, and they should keep their promise. It's simple. What goes on between them and the carrier is none of my business. I had no role in carrier selection.

So, I should be compensated as promised, and not cheated. I had already gone through tough 3 months and if I dont get compensated, I will feel duped and tricked by the moving company.
Thanks

I HIRED THIS COMPANY TO MOVE MY MOTHER AND I FROM MASSACHUSETTS TO FLORIDA, AND THEY NEVER SHOWED UP SO I AM SEEKING ALL MY MONEY BACK.
I HIRED PATRIOT TO MOVE MY MOTHER AND I FROM MA TO FL ON 6/5/19 WITH *** I PAID 2 DEPOSITS OVER THE PHONE WITH MY CREDIT CARD TOTALLING $1350.75. I STILL HAVE THE CONTRACT IN MY EMAIL STATING THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO SHOW UP ON JULY 21ST OR 22ND TO MOVE US (A 48HR WINDOW), WHICH WAS FINE. ON JULY 2ND *** SAID THEY WERE CALLING ON 7/19 TO GIVE US THE FINAL DISPATCH SCHEDULE, OF COURSE THEY DIDN'T. *** AND *** KEPT SAYING THEY WERE GOING TO CALL ON FUTURE DATES TO FINALIZE THE PICK UP DATE AND TIME, AND AGAIN, THEY NEVER DID. ON 7/18 CRAIG *** SAID THEY WERE CALLING ON 7/20 AT 3PM, AND YOU GUESSED IT, THEY STILL DIDNT CALL. MY MOTHER AND CALLED DISPATCH DOZENS OF TIMES WITH THE SAME RUN AROUND. THIS SAME STORY WENT ON UNTIL JULY 22ND. MY MOTHER AND I HAD A FLIGHT SCHEDULED FOR 7/22 AT 8PM, AND OF COURSE, PATRIOT THEN SAYS THEY WERE COMING BETWEEN 5PM-8PM. NATURALLY MY MOM AND I COULD NOT WAIT AROUND FOR THEM, SO WE HAD OUR REALTOR *** COME TO OUR HOUSE TO MEET THE MOVERS. *** WAITED UNTIL 9:30PM AND STILL NO MOVERS! WE WERE ALREADY IN FLORIDA BY THE TIME WE FOUND ALL THIS OUT! OF COURSE, I CALLED PATRIOT FROM FLORIDA AS SOON AS I FOUND THIS OUT. THEY PROMISED IN THE CONTRACT THEY WERE COMING ON 7/21 OR 7/22, AND OBVIOUSLY, THEY BROKE THE CONTRACT! WHEN I CALLED, I SPOKE TO *** IN DISPATCH AGAIN, AND SHE HAD THE SUPPOSED MOVING TRUCK DRIVER DAMIAN (HIS CELL #XXXXXXXXXX) CALL ME AT MY HOTEL. HE SAID HE COULD GET TO OUR HOUSE (IN MASSACHUSETTS) BETWEEN 5-6PM TUESDAY NIGHT 7/23 AND HE ACTUALLY ASKED FOR MY ADDRESS! IF HE WAS A LEGIT MOVER, HE WOULD'VE KNOW THE ADDRESS ALREADY! I DID NOT GIVE MY ADDRESS TO HIM BECAUSE THIS WAS ALL SO SHADY AND *** WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO BE THERE. BECAUSE OF THIS COMPANY, IT CREATED A MASSIVE DOMINO EFFECT BECAUSE WE HAD TO RESCHEDULE THE CLOSING, THE BUYERS MOVE IN DATE, AND NOW GET STORAGE FOR OUR STUFF AND HIRE A NEW MOVING COMPANY.

Desired Outcome

I WANT A FULL REFUND!

Patriot Moving Group Response • Aug 07, 2019

Hello,
Patriot Moving Group agrees that the mover did not arrive at your house on the expected pick up dates. Our dispatch department was communicated that the driver had a mechanical breakdown and dispatch did everything possible to get another carrier out to your location. Unfortunately another driver was unavailable. Patriot Moving Group of course attempted to refund the full deposit but found that *** had charged back the total amount she had paid to Patriot Moving Group

On behalf of Patriot Moving Group we would like to extend our sincerest apologizes to Ms. Somme for any frustration that she has experienced with Patriot Moving Group. I would like to clarify that Patriot Moving Group specializes in over the phone estimates. The algorithm that we use to calculate the amount of space and weight that a customer will occupy on the truck is contingent on the information the customer provided us. We understand that some of our customers are first time movers and find it difficult to describe their inventory items to us. We do our best in asking probing questions to come up with the most accurate estimate. Our quality insurance department then follows up with every customer to go over a customer inventory for a second time. Ms. Sommers original estimate was for 286cf upon arriving at Ms. Sommers location the foreman completed a walk through and provided Ms. Sommers with a revision of about 314 cf additional because of bulky and additional items. Also upon arriving at Ms. Sommers location nothing had been packed. In turn she need an additional $526 in packing materials. All revisions are gone over with each customer prior tot he goods being loaded onto the trailer and the paperwork must be approved by the customer before proceeding with anything further. The packing included in each move is standard pad wrapping of all stand furniture pieces which includes inventory items such as sofas/nightstands/dressers/tables etc. If there are additional packing services needed then we can of course accommodate any customer. We were never communicated by Ms. Sommers that she would need such extensive packing before arriving to her location. Ms. Sommers also had an additional flight of stairs and had an accessibility issue, meaning our trailer could not fit within 75 feet of her entrance. All additional services are outlined in our agreement and this was agreed to electronically by the customer. Please see attachment.

Company cancelled the contract in the middle of the job, yet held my property hostage for payment.
On 6/12/19 my daughter and I, hired Patriot Moving Group to assist with our move from Missouri to ***. My daughter paid $2335.47 to secure the dates for our move. My daughter also paid $200 toward the move of her vehicle. Patriot brokered PackRite Movers to commission the move. We gave Patriot a list of items that we wanted moved and we were told we needed 15324 lbs/2189 cubic feet. Our move included two households and our total on our Binding Moving Estimate was $7998. PackRite arrived at my house first on July 26, 2019. They came to my house first because I had the largest load. They walked through the house and started complaining that the job was mis-quoted and they would not make any money on the job. They also stated without weighing anything or moving anything to the two trucks that there would be additional costs. Because there were a few items that I had failed to include, I told them I would pay the additional amount once they weighted, counted, whatever they do to substantiate the additional amount. They never substantiated the cost. The movers arrived at my daughter's house June 27, 2019 @ 11:35PM. She said that when they came in, they asked to see what she was moving and again they started complaining and stated that the loading of her items to the truck would take six hours. They told her that would cost another $4000. She questioned why since there were a number of items that she had decided not to include in the move, which should have reduced, not increased the charge. When she advised them that this would be less than the original numbers, she was told by the movers that it would just be easier to just cancel. She said that she was confused, so she asked them to verify that they did not want to complete the move. They said that their life would be easier if they cancelled the move because they had to be in New Jersey the following morning. They then left to return to my house. Upon their arrival to my house they tried to get me to sign a new contract with no contents and they said they would fill it out later. I refused to sign a blank contract in front of 3 or 4 other people. When I would not sign a blank contract, they said that I would have to pay them $3500 if I wanted my possessions. I asked them what they were charging $3500 for and they said to cover the cost of payroll for 3 men for 2 days. There were not 3 men working at my house for 2 days.I told them I would gladly pay them a reasonable amount, but $3500 was not reasonable.During the time that we were discussing payment, my family and friends went to the garage and found numerous items that they had placed under blankets and boxes to make it appear that they had loaded everything on the trucks. I offered to pay them $1500- $1800 for services rendered. They said $3500. A few days later, feeling frustrated and defeated, I called them back on approximately 7/2/19 and agreed to pay so I could continue with my moving plans. They refused to accept a credit card which was the agreed upon method of payment and demanded a wire transfer. They provided me with an acctg# and a rtg #. I called my bank to see if I had to come into the bank to do the wire transfer and was advised that I did not, but stated they need to provide me with wiring instructions. I called them back and advised them what my bank had told me and I also told them I would be sending them a document that I needed signed by an officer of their company stating that my property would be released upon receipt of the money. Since that conversation, I have received numerous excuses of why we did not get the required information

Desired Outcome

release of my property and the refund of payment for services not performed

Patriot Moving Group is saddened by the frustration the *** and *** family experienced during their moving process. Patriot Moving Group provided an over the phone estimate to our primary contact *** This estimate is based on the information and inventory items that *** provided us and agreed to a the time of booking through an electronic signature (the provided documented below). Patriot Moving Group works with a moving software called "Granot", this moving software is used industry wide by moving brokers and carriers. The software uses an algorithm that predicts the cubic footage and weight need for each individual client. Based on the information the client provides the relocation specialist. *** move was estimated to require 2,189 cubic feet and 15,324 pounds. Pack Rite Movers is the contracted carrier dispatched to service *** and ***'s move. Pack Rite informed us that upon arrival at the first pick-up location that *** had more items and boxes then were listed on the estimate. The carrier also, stated that she required an extensive amount of packing materials. Prior to starting the work, the foremen explained to *** that her price was going to increase due to the additional services and cubic footage. The foreman and *** came to an agreement on a price and the foreman began packing and loading. Ms. items occupied the entire truck and need to be off loaded into a storage facility in order to facilitate *** goods. After ***'s house was completed and moved to a local storage facility the foreman then began his route to *** residence. When leaving ***'s residence, it was very clear that we had already maxed out the cubic footage reservation. When the carrier arrived at *** residence the foreman completed a walk through comparing the estimate to what was actually no site. At that time *** decided that she would like to cancel her move because additional fees would be applied for the additional space and services. We have a very clear cancellation policy which is in the first paragraph of the agreement that was signed off on in agreement by both parties.

Patriot Moving Group Contract Pack Rite they are a trusted carrier of our and we use them frequently. We have never had a circumstance of this nature. Patriot Moving Group is a properly licensed interstate broker not a motor carrier and will not transport or handle in any way an individual shipper's household goods, but will coordinate and arrange for the transportation of household goods by an FMCSA authorized motor carrier, whose charges will be determined by its own published tariff. All estimated charges and final charges will be based upon the motor carrier's tariff which is available for inspection from the carrier upon reasonable request. In acting as an interstate broker, Patriot Moving Group, LLC is not responsible for any acts or omissions of the moving company or its employees or agents. Patriot Moving Group, LLC is the customer's representative. These issues need to be handled directly with Pack Rite Movers whom have agreed to handle any concerns.

Problems with my so called professional moving company
Hired this company with well over a months notice for my move, move date to pack me up was set for July 1 or 2, made contact two week prior to this date, I made contact on the Friday before the 1st to confirm. We went over the boxes needed again and the large furniture items I had that needed to be stored for up to 30 days and delivered to Dallas my new apartment on the 25th. No one showed up on Monday, I had to call, no one showed up on Tues as guaranteed and I had to call, they guaranteed they would have someone there Weds between 10 and noon, no one showed and I had to call gain. Finally some movers showed up Weds at 9:30 pm and they even had to stop at Lowes prior to my house to buy packing supplies. Of course you can not buy the specialty boxes I was paying for at Lowes. Company finally had me packed up in the truck by 4am which they did not gave anything secured down, no packing blankets covering my furniture. The had no china boxes, not tv boxes no any garment boxes. I asked them if they were going to secure my items down and the said yes but they just drove off and they were on the same highway I was so I know they did not do that. I have reached out to this moving company again this morning with my nightmare and my issues. I explained again everything they have put me through and that we have a date for my personal items to be delivered and moved in on July 25th and that this had to happen on the 25th as I have the freight elevator scheduled on this day from 1 pm to 5 pm and their was no moving this date around and they had to be there on the 25th by 1 pm with a box truck no longer from front to back could only 32' long which I have told them many times now. I am in fear that I will never see my personal property again.

Desired Outcome

I want assurance that they will be at my new residence on time and on the specific date with as required. I want an asjustment to my very expensive bill for packing boxes I did not get. Also I request that they give me monies off my bill for the horrible treatment and nightmare I am still dealing with.

Patriot Moving Group Response • Aug 06, 2019

Hello,

The dates that were scheduled for your pick up were 7/1/19 - 7/2/19 the carrier experienced a delay which was communicated to you on 7/2/19 with an eta of 10am to 12. The driver then contacted Patriot that same day to acknowledge there has been another delay and the time frame was now being moved between 2 and 5 on the 3rd and the carrier was offering a $150 discount from your balance for the inconveniences. In regards to a delivery date we never guarantee any specific delivery date, we do however give you an estimated time frame according to your mileage and from where you are being picked up from and then delivered to. Your delivery spread is also determined from the first available date you specify on your paperwork. If you stated the first available date you can accept a delivery would be 7/25/19 then this would be the first date of your delivery window. A lot of customers misinterpret this as a guaranteed date of delivery when in fact it is used for scheduling purposes. The purpose for this section on your paperwork is because not every customer is ready before immediate delivery for whichever reason. (closing on a house, no keys, not in the destination until a certain time etc.) You are then scheduled for delivery according to this date. Once the date that you have specified gets closer than the dispatch department starts to put you onto the schedule to assign you a driver that has a route to your destination. At that point they must load the trailer to capacity with your load an all the other deliveries headed towards your location. In the case of loading the delivery trailer they must go in order from the oldest first delivery date to the most recent and sometimes it is necessary to have to wait for the next trailer with the same route to load the following customers. Once your items are confirmed loaded, then you will be notified of the driver's information and the fact that your goods are in transit. At that time, we give you an estimated time of arrival. (ETA) We cannot guarantee any dates and only give estimates because it is on a shared trailer with multiple deliveries. When you have multiple deliveries and stops there are chances of delays unfortunately. (Customer not at the delivery location, payment issues, mechanical issues, traffic, weather etc.) Throughout the process Patriot Moving Group will assist you in obtaining any updates that you need. We all understand that you have other things going on and that you must be able to coordinate around the delivery time frame to ensure that quote on quote "all your ducks are in a row" and do our best to coordinate between you, dispatch and the carrier. Once the driver gets closer to your location, he will notify you and then notify you again about an hour before arriving.

ESTIMATED PICK UP AND DELIVERY SCHEDULE: Pickup and delivery dates are not guaranteed unless the optional Premium Guaranteed Service (P.G.S.) is purchased. Standard Service (S.S.) period is up to a maximum of thirty business weekdays, not including storage time, beginning on the first date indicated as available for delivery (not the date of pickup). The date indicated as 1st available for delivery is first date of the delivery window and not the promised delivery date. Estimated delivery period is up to thirty business days from date indicated as first available for delivery. All estimated time of arrivals are subject to change depending on many factors such as traffic, weather conditions, unforeseen mechanical problems or unexpected delays. Fees can apply if customer changes pick up dates within 5 business days of the first available pick up window.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Patriot moving company never once called me I called every time no one showed up or called. Every time I called I asked to speak to someone in charge and as it appears every one that answers the phone is in charge. I had a witness at my home when movers finally showed up and I had a witness as well as recorded every phone conversation with this very rude and unprofessional company I never got my $150 discount and with the delay in moving as they want to call it, which was a show up at 9:30 at night and was there until 4 am packing up. They did not have the proper boxes for packing.

This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with and I would high recommend no one ever us them.

This move cost me almost $6000 and was the most stressful and painful experience I have been through and they never once tried to make it right. They never once gave me any kind of discount for any troubles what so ever and they should be refunding some of my money back for the non stop problems they cause.

Patriot Moving Group Response • Aug 09, 2019

Hello,

In regards to your request Patriot Moving Group will not be offering a refund due to all services were rendered. The only issue was the fact the foreman had a delay which in the moving industry is something can be expected especially when relocating during the months of June/July/August as this is the busiest time of year for moving due to the summer season. Ms. was issued a $150 credit from the foreman for his inconvenience. Patriot Moving Group spoke with Ms. through the entire process. During each conversation Ms. became very hostile with each representative she spoke with because she was not hearing the response she would prefer. Patriot Moving Group strives to ensure each customers satisfaction and had even scheduled a direct delivery for Ms.. Patriot Moving Group will not be issuing any other credits to Ms..

I recommend this great moving company. I am sure they will not disappoint. They were there for me during the previous moving. During the relocation, they did everything to ensure smooth and amazing moving services. I am grateful they were able to do it. I am grateful right now and I will always be. The fact that Patriot Moving Group crew moved me from Georgia to Texas in a flawless way gives me enough reasons to be happy. You are amazing.

Thank you so much for providing your feed back! It was our pleasure servicing your move.

Misleading quote, Unprofessionalism and Deceptive Practice
To whom it may concern,
I'm writing this complaint in response to the misleading quote and unprofessionalism from Patriot Moving Group LLC. I will also be providing a copy of this complaint to the FMCSA's (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Admin) NCCDB (National Consumer Complaint Database) as well as the Revdex.com.
On May 21st I received a price estimate from Patriot Moving Group sales person ***. I explained to *** what rooms and items where needing to be moved. I was asked what floor I was moving to and I explained that I was moving 2 rooms from a one story home to the first floor of my new apartment. *** provided me with a quote base on the items agreed upon and told me the price should not vary by much base on the line items. I also asked *** how to pay for the expense and I was told I could pay by credit card but it would have to be cash or money order upon delivery. *** explained there would be no additional charges for that. After receiving my quote for my move from Houston to ***, *** reviewed the estimate with me and again explained the quote should not vary by much. I proceed to pay for the down payment via credit card and signed off on the estimate.
When the movers arrived to the pickup site on June 1st. I was then told that my items were going to exceed the estimated weight and square footage. It was not simply based on the line items. At this point I was given the option of paying the additional charge of roughly 30% of the original estimate or leave some items behind (head board and end tables to my bedroom set), which was not really an option. I authorized them to continue with the move. The movers proceeded to load the truck and then asked for payment when they were done. I again made a credit card payment as I was told to do so by ***, but now I was being told I would have to pay a 3-5% surcharge for using the card this time or provide a money order or cash. Seeing how I was not at the pickup site this was not a possibility. I made the payment and told the driver I would call a manager on Monday. After all this the driver then proceed to inform me that if the distance to the apartment was in excess of 75 feet I would be charge an additional amount per foot. More charges that were not revealed up front.
Monday evening I placed a call to Patriot Moving Group and spoke with supervisor ***. I explained to *** that I did not believe it was fair that *** and I agreed on a price based on the number of line items I had and instead I ended up being charged 30% more base on the weight and square footage. I also explained to *** how the additional charges for the credit card use was not reflected on the estimate or explained by *** and the additional charge for the distance to the apartment was also not explained. *** stated there was nothing she could do for me and proceed to rush me off the phone. I then asked to speak to her supervisor and she explained there was no one she reports to. She then corrected herself and stated she report to the owner, ***. I asked for Mr. number because I would be escalating the matter and she proceed to give me an email address that she said she would forward to him once she received it. I explained to her that I would be including her in the complaint and I did not believe she would forward the message but I would do so anyway.
When the movers arrived on June 6th, there was only one person sent to do the job. The individual was tasked with having to move all the items by himself which not only took additional time but caused damage to the headboard to my bedroom set. I since had to setup a claim which is still pending. Overall I am dissatisfied with the service that was provided as well as the manner in which my complaint was handled. At this point I am unsure how or if Patriot Moving Group will respond but I will continue to pursue this matter. Thank you!

Desired Outcome

I would like the company to honor the original quote and refund me the additional charges as well as pay for the damage they did to my leather bed headboard.

Patriot Moving Group Response • Jul 26, 2019

Hello ***.

Patriot Moving Group apologizes for the issues that you experienced during your pick up. At the time of booking original you are informed that his is a quoted estimate given based off the inventory pieces that you communicate you are transporting to us which we enter into a moving software that calculates size (cubic footage) and weight. We also conduct a quality assurance call 3 to 5 days prior to your first pick up date in order to be as accurate as possible int he "Estimate" One out drivers arrive on site they must by law complete a walk through of your inventory comparing it to what is on site and to what is inputted onto the estimate. If you go beyond the space (cf) reserved for you then you are responsible for the additional cost per cf or lbs according to your agreement. If any other additional services are needed then they to will be discussed with you at the pick up prior to anything being loaded onto the truck. This must be explained and gone over with you as the customer and you must sign off on the revision in agreement to any and all changes. You in fact agreed to all the revisions. In regards to payment at pick up, yes you have on your estimate that you preferred to pay with a credit card for your pick up portion. There is a processing fee associated to using a card at the pick up and if this is wanting to be avoided you also have the option to pay with cash, postal money order or a certified check from the bank. You agreed to the overages and you were sent the claims information in order to file a claim. Your damages must go through the claims process for insurance purposes.

Movers showed up 6 hours late, reeking of alcohol and left half our furniture b/c truck was too small even though a detailed audit was performed prior
Patriot Moving Group was expected to come to my apartment on 6/17/19 between 9-12pm to pick up my 1br apartment. Prior to pickup a detailed list of all items and measurements were sent and reviewed with Patriot sales and also their quality control, so they knew the exact amount of furniture. Each box and item was numbered and pictures were taken.
The movers arrive at 6pm, smelling of alcohol and drunk. Their truck is already 95% full. They are slow in moving everything in and ran out of space in their truck, didn't even fit either of the beds, bar stools, a chair and multiple other pieces of furniture (all which was communicated prior). The drunk movers refused to assist and just left with the stuff. Patriot is now attempting to blame us b/c our stuff was too heavy apparently, even though their truck was already full upon arrival and they had items listed, including all measurements of every single box and piece of furniture. This company is a complete scam!!!

Desired Outcome

We have asked patriot to send another truck to retrieve our remaining items, including the two beds, a king and queen and they refuse unless we pay them more $. This company is a complete fraud and should be put out of business for shady business practices. We have video, document and photo proof of all pieces, communications and measurements and plan to contact authorities to resolve.

Patriot Moving Group Response • Jul 15, 2019

The contract between Patriot Moving Group and *** does not state we are legally bound to move specific items. The contract states that we are agreeing to move a specific amount of cubic feet and weight for the customer. In Ms. case we agreed to move 489 cubic feet and 3,421 pounds. Based on the items provided by the customer, our moving software will provide an average of the estimated space and weight the customer will be occupying on the truck. Keep in mind this is an over the phone estimate based on the information the customer provides us. When we arrived at Ms. had double the estimated cubic feet reserved for their move. Our truck only had 550 cubic feet available on our truck. We were only able to take the items that we occupied the available space. During the Quality assurance call place to the *** family they added 173 cubic feet to their move, in additional items. Ms. claims that at the time of pick-up none of those items were present. Typically, when a customer adds items, cubic feet or weight during the quality assurance call and then retracts it because the price increases. This an indication that they will be over the space and weight reservation at pick-up. We explain to the customer that we need the most accurate inventory list that they can provide so that we can reserve enough space on the truck for there move. I've attached a copy of the signed agreement between the customer and Patriot Moving Group.

Customer Response • Jul 16, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We asked Patriot to do the cubic feet measurements in front of us, b/c this was ridiculous, they barely picked up anything! We also asked for them to give us weight receipts before and after our move and the company refused.
The actual men movers told us the people before paid them directly extra $ to take more of their stuff on the truck, which meant less room in the truck for us. The movers also offered us a similar shady deal, where they would be paid more directly. This is a SHADY/DISHONEST COMPANY and I will continue to post bad reviews until they are shut down. In addition, movers broke my 1k brand new tv, completely cracked, that they were responsible for packing and moving.

Patriot Moving Group Response • Jul 26, 2019

To Whom It May Concern,

We do understand that ***'s move was not executed as she desired. However, we did uphold our contractual obligations to *** as stated in the signed agreement. Upon initial booking Ms. informed us that she had 53 inventory Pieces to be moved. We use a moving software that is used industry wide by moving brokers and carriers. Our software has an algorithm that calculates approximately how much space and weight a customer will occupy on the moving truck. This is based on the information and inventory items that the customer provides us. *** was estimated to occupy 464 cubic feet and 3,247 pounds for the 53 inventory Pieces that *** informed us that she wanted to have moved. A few days prior to the move date our Quality Assurance department reach out to Ms. to confirm the inventory Pieces, at this time the inventory jumped to 65 pieces and 662 cubic feet. When a customer's inventory fluctuates then the price is subject to increase which is what happened in *** case. After sending *** the adjustments, *** quickly wanted to revert to the original cubic footage. The final estimate before pick-up came in at 48 inventory Pieces and 489 cubic feet. Upon arrival on pick-up day *** had more inventory items and cubic feet then were listed on the finally estimate. We had already warned *** the estimate is contingent on cubic feet and weight and if you do not adjust that reservation that we potentially might not have extra space on the truck for their items. We took all the items we had space for which was 500 cubic feet. We understand *** frustration and we sympathize with her situation. However, Patriot does not appreciate the threatening statement on the Revdex.com. "and I will continue to post bad reviews until they are shut down. "

This business practices unfair and deceitful tactics to gain your trust and get you to use their services.
I initially contacted *** (Senior Relocation Specialist) at Patriot Moving Group in January this year to inquire about a move from Buffalo, NY to Dayton, Ohio. I was quoted an estimate of $2217.01 and put down a deposit of $759.43 on March 18th, Job no. LXXXXXXX. At the time of payment, the move date requested was Saturday, May 25th with an early pick up time requested. In April I was informed , by *** initially contacted *** (Senior Relocation Specialist) at Patriot Moving Group in January this year to inquire about a move from Buffalo, NY to Dayton, Ohio. I was quoted an estimate of $2217.01 and put down a deposit of $759.43 on March 18th, Job no. LXXXXXXX. In April I was informed , by *** (Senior Relocation Specialist) that Glass City movers would provide pick up and delivery of our belongings. On the day of the move Integrated Moving systems (not the company expected) was supposed to come for the move and was delayed due to mechanical issues with the moving truck. That day I was also contacted by Patriot Moving Group customer service rep. *** who advised she was calling me from her home to inform me that the movers would be delayed by several hours. She called back later and advised they would not be able to come that day and guaranteed that they would arrive at 7 a.m. Sunday, May 26th. I told her that my Mother and I would have to stay in a hotel and she advised she would talk to the billing dept. on Tues., May 28th about reimbursement. She also advised that the date for delievery was Tues. May 28th and never promised to be the same day, which I was never told. I called customer service everyday that following week Tues. - Friday (5/28 - 5/31) and spoke with *** (another customer service rep., last name unknown) who told me everyday that Integrated systems had not made a schedule of when they would be delivering to the Ohio area. On those days I also asked to speak with *** who was not available and never called me back. *** also informed me that the movers were going to take off $25.00 for my inconvenience and that Patriot would match that amount because they didn't think it was enough, making my discount for the delay $50.00 On Monday, June 3rd, I was told by *** the movers would arrive on Tues. June 4th during the hours of 2 - 7 p.m. After another delay at a weigh station, we finally received our belongings on Wed. June 5th. I spoke with *** on Friday, June 7th and was advised that I would not receive reimbursement for the hotel stay and that I was mistaken (basically called a liar) about the $25.00 discount promised by ***. When I asked about any type of compensation for the 10 days our belongings were held hostage she told me the earliest delivery date would have been Tuesday, May 28th (this date was never stated to me by either Craig or Shane) and it was stated that it could take up to 30 days for delivery. I truly don't believe that anyone would give a company hundreds of dollars to provide a move that could take up to 30 days. I certainly would have not and after reading further reviews on this company I see that I am not alone with having this very stressful, aggravating and insulting experience. They should be held accountable for their dishonest business practices and no one should be subjected to this behavior, especially from a company who promises "A stress free move". Thank you.

Desired Outcome

The policies regarding the type of service you will receive from this company should be outlined in detail and be honest and truthful

Patriot Moving Group Response • Jul 29, 2019

Hello,

Patriot Moving Group apologizes if you were inconvenienced by the pick up and delivery time frames. Unfortunately in the moving industry delays to occur and in some situation unavoidable. When a delay occurs we are responsible for communicating with the customer about the delays which was completed in your case. When dispatching your job to the driver the original carrier we assigned to your move informed us after you had spoken to quality assurance that they no longer had availability and that we need to dispatch another carrier which was Integrated Moving Solutions. We understand you are upset about the delivery time frame. At the time of pick up 5/26/19 your paperwork has a section on it that asks you to specify what your first available date for delivery is. In your case you stated the first available date you can accept a delivery would be 5/28/19 . Please see the clause from your agreement that discuses this and is very clear and not in fine print.

Fees can apply if customer changes pick up dates on or 5 days before the first available pick up window.

Hello,

I do apologize for not responding before the deadline.

I did view the response from Patriot moving group and while I appreciate the long written explanation for the poor service my Mother and I experienced it does not make up for the major financial and personal inconveniences we endured while our possessions were actually held hostage for over a week. With that being said I still maintain that this company practices decitful and unfair business practices and should be held accountable for the substandard service it provides to unassuming customers. There are also many negative reviews on their website as well.

In conclusion I am not satisfied with their response to my complaint.

Thank you for your time.

Hello,

I have read the reply from the business and I am not satisfied with their response which still lays the blame and delay in my Mother and I not receiving our belongings on me for the most part. Since the start of my complaints to them personally and now through the Revdex.com they have taken no responsibility for the lies and miscommunication they practice while taking your money and not caring about the extra money and inconvenience that was caused.

Unless their is another plan of action for me to take at this point, I see no other recourse in this matter other than to drop it since all they want to do is go back and forth with more lies and excuses as to why they did not provide the service as promised and lied about a reimbursement for the extra night we had to spend in Buffalo or for the inconvenience of not having our belongings and no place to stay for 10 days.

Please advise and thank you.

Patriot Moving Group Response • Sep 10, 2019

Hello,

The delivery process was explained in our most recent reply. Your goods were never held hostage and the location and process was communicated through the entire process. Unfortunately we can not help the fact that the delivery time frame was not as quick as you had wanted but when dealing with transportation delays can occur and when moving during the summer season (the busiest time of year to relocate). You stated that your first available date for delivery was 5/29 and you were delivered on June 7th. Your items took 9 days to be delivered. According to your mileage of 500 miles the ESTIMATED time frame is 1 to 7 days. Because of unforeseen delays it was 2 days later than that estimated time frame. Patriot Moving Group rendered all services.

Moving company charged for no work.
I entered into an agreement to have my belongings moved from Pa to Co. These folks took $1400 from me and when the day came to move, ANOTHER moving company showed up and said nothing I've paid is applied to the cost to move AND the estimate Patriot gave me was worthless. An estimate of $2400 became twice that. I would have scoffed by my lease was up and EVERYTHING in my life hinged on this move so I paid. So Patriot estimated $2400...I paid them $1400 and to date $2400 to Hometown Van Lines with another $2400 due when my items arrive. Preying on folks in the position I was in is reprehensible. And lastly, over a week later and I haven't heard about my stuff or had my calls returned at Hometown Van Lines.

Desired Outcome

Patriot estimated $2400 for this move. I've paid that. I want my $1400 back from Patriot and I want the remainder of my costs to be reviewed.

Patriot Moving Group Response • Jun 05, 2019

On behalf of Patriot Moving Group we would like to extend our sincerest apologizes to *** for any frustration that he has experienced with Patriot Moving Group. This is to ensure that we have the most accurate estimate and moving cost. After further investigation into *** move, I found that *** had 16 addition items that were not listed on his inventory list. We had 521 cubic feet reserved for *** in our truck. This is based on the size of Mr. Mullins items that he provided us on the phone with a live agent. When we arrived ***, items took up 1200 cubic feet including his additional item. All of *** items were bulky in size and were difficult to stack in the truck. Another factor in *** addition cost was that he had $250.00 worth of unpacked items that we needed to provide materials for on the spot. Calculating a customer price is consist of several different factors. The main factor in determining a customer price, is the space and weight that is being occupied in the truck. With this being said, it's understandable that *** price would increase and possibly double if he had additional cubic feet or additional items. Below I have attached a copy of the signed agreement between *** and Patriot Moving Group. Patriot Moving Group appreciates your understanding in this matter!

I was lied to about price and and deliver estimate.
I was personally advised 2-5 business days for delivery several times. When speaking with the supposed director I was again advised of 2-5 business days unless there was an extenuating circumstance. However upon speaking with the moved I am told it takes at least 7-10 even up to 30 business days as I have a "standard" move. That is NOT an extenuating circumstance. That is a blatant miscommunication from the broker to company that I am still being charged and inconvenienced for.

Desired Outcome

I want my stuff and money back for wasting my time.

Company failed to provide movers fir our contract sfter taking our deposit.
We signed a contract for movers to pick up our furniture on June 1. We travelled 16 hours to meet the movers. They never showed up. We co tacted the company 5 times and were told they would check on timing and would call us back. They never called back. We emailed and customer service told us they would try to remedy the situation but dudnt know when they could grt movers to our house. They would get back to us and did not. Thus is a bait and switch - we dint believe they had ever set up movers for June 1, but jnew we had a specifuc timeline and wanted to close the deal.

Desired Outcome

Full refund of our deposit.

Patriot Moving Group Response • Jun 27, 2019

On Behalf of Patriot Moving Group we do apologize for the frustration and inconvenience that *** experienced. ***'s move was scheduled for June 1st 2019, we scheduled ***'s move as second pick-up in a series of three pick-ups that were taking place on June 1st. During the first move of the day one of the foreman injured himself while moving a dresser from the second story of a customer's home. Understandably, Our foreman who physically perform the moves are only human and on occasion become injured. We explained to *** the unforeseen and extenuating circumstances, and that her move would be delayed until later that evening or at the latest until the following morning. *** immediately became enraged and demanded that we cancel her move, refund her money and she would find another moving company. We explained to her that if she would like to cancel her move, that we will do so and will not assign a new crew to her pick-up location. Furthermore, the signed agreement between Patriot Moving Group and *** does include a clause protect the Patriot from obligation to refund a customer their deposit if we can assign a new crew during a circumstance such as this one. However, the supervisor on call that weekend was so alarmed from Ms. Ferricks lack of understanding that she agreed to refund *** her full deposit first thing Monday morning when she was back in the office. First thing Monday morning (June 3rd ) *** received her entire deposit back. We can provide Further evidence of this if necessary.

Customer Response • Jun 28, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The only truth in the business response is that we did indeed receive our deposit back a week later. We were never informed that the foreman injured himself. In fact we called the business six times over three days as well as emailed them only to be told that they would check on the status and get back to us, which they did not do. We cancelled service after we once again called them and were told that they didn't know what happened with the movers, they were trying to get someone else to move our furniture, but could not give us a timeline of when the new movers would come. Making the comment that they informed us of the onforeseen and extenuating circumstances is an out and out lie. And I do have the emails to back up my claim (see below).

I want to extend my sincerest apologies that the dispatcher nor the driver did not reached out to you when missing your pick up window. This is not how Patriot services our clients and we are extremely dishearten by the current circumstances. Due to the lack of Communication from the driver. I will personally dispatch a new crew as soon as possible! Unfortunately, I'm not sure when exactly I will be able to have a crew to your location.

Patriots business hours end at 2pm today which is why your phone calls were not being answered or returned. Usually it is up to the dispatcher to coordinate after hours moves. I will make sure my supervisor is informed of your situation so this can be handled accordingly.

At this time the carrier and the customer have confirmed with Patriot Moving Group that the ***'s items have been delivered. Moving forward we are no longer using 8Mile Moving and Storage as a trusted agent of our company. As of today Patriot Moving Group has contacted the customer and issued the appropriate refund for each late day outside of the delivery window. I've attached the following documents proving this.

Change in quote, unreliable delivery, misinformed several times, unprofessional customer service
If you take a look and read through all the five star reviews here, they all are grouped on the same days and use the same wording. I made the mistake when I signed on with Patriot Moving, don't make the same mistake!!

To start with, I was given a quote and told that my quote was based on WEIGHT and that given what I told him, he estimated me at 1,400 lbs and the minimum was 2,000 so there was no way I would add another 600 pounds from my one bedroom apartment. The only furniture I was bringing along was my bed, mattress (no box spring), two arm chairs, an ottoman, and a washer dryer. The rest of my belongings were clothes, a lamp, bedding, kitchen goods, etc. Enough that they called me a "mini move". Then when the person called to get my updated inventory, they raised my estimate by $400 now claiming that it was not by weight, but by ITEM COUNT. See, because they originally told me it was by weight, I had packed some things in boxes as small as 6"x8". Then I was given a four hour window for pick up, when I was originally told it would be two hours. The window was Tuesday from 3-7pm. I had heard nothing from the driver until 6:45 when he told me he would be late because his "helper" hadn't arrived and the pick up process would be 3-4 hours long. Again, keep in mind I was a "mini move". I heard from him three more times that evening, all me calling him, before he eventually cancelled on me and said he would arrive before 8am the following morning. After two calls to him the next morning, he finally arrived at 8:30am. The "helper" he brought with him was unprofessional, smelled of body odor, would only carry one box at a time because he didn't "like the dolly", took an hour to take apart my simple bed, kept interrupting conversations with my father and I instead of working, and even asked my father to help him carry my mattress. But they finally had everything loaded up. When Patriot Moving called me to ask how it went, I shared my concerns. After several calls complaining about our experience with the pick up people and the price change, ***, the customer service manager, told my mother she had talked to me and I never shared any of these concerns and she did not have time to talk to us and would only communicate over email. I talked with her employee ***, not her, and had indeed shared all my concerns. When it was time to deliver, I talked to several different employees that told me different things each time: it would take 7-10 days to deliver, it would be delivered on my requested date, it would be delivered 7-10 days from my requested date, it would be delivered up to a month from my requested date, etc. I called probably two dozen times following up with them, they did not reach out to me once. I finally heard the day before my things were arriving that they would come the following day. When they were delivered, the driver told me it is his decision whether to estimate my items on weight or box count and he would have done by weight because of the light weight of my move. We also noticed the pick up driver did not inventory or sticker all of my items. I lost several boxes and a painting. But I frankly don't want to deal with them any further to get them back.

In summary, they lie, they raise rates, they are unprofessional, they are brokers for unreliable movers. DO NOT USE THEM. You will lose money and your belongings.

Desired Outcome

I would like to be refunded at least the change in estimate of $400, but ideally half of my move that cost $1,700 total

Patriot Moving Group Response • May 15, 2019

Hello,

When booking your move you are estimated for both weight and cubic footage. It is based off of a 7 ratio. Every 7 pounds equals one cubic foot. This is on all supporting documents sent to you and right next to each other. Patriot Moving Group's minimum job is up to 2000 lbs at 286 cf. Three to five days before your pick up is to take place you receive a quality assurance call which is meant to make sure all inventory is communicated to us as accurately as possible and if any revisions need to be made to inventory or packing etc. In your case you originally had 10 items 24 pieces then added additional items going up to 22 items 64 pieces this in turn changed your cubic footage to 342 rather than the original 286 and your weight to 2396 rather than the minimum of 2000. When you make adjustments to your inventory it changes the algorithm and obviously the percentages in pricing will change. If you reserve more space/weight then you need to pay for that add on. You are given a window for pick up between 2 and 4 hours. We do not give an exact time because you need to think of what kind of industry this is. When dealing with multiple stops and traffic/weather/mechanical issues time frames adjust all the time. You were informed and communicated with in regards to the delay that was unforeseen and unavoidable. At pick up you are given documents to review which include a bill of lading , inventory sheet with label numbers and packing material sheet. After the foreman does the walk through and explains the breakdowns you must sign the paperwork before they can even start loading agreeing to weight or cubic feet and all prices.

In regards to the labors having " body oder " this does tend to happen when you are working. Delivery time frames are all based off of your first available date for delivery that you specify on your pick up paperwork. The dispatcher base their logistics off this date per customer at which point you are given a time frame for delivery. Just like pick up etas we can not guarantee a specific time and day because of the same reason listed above.

Customer Response • May 16, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Although I appreciate the company explaining to me the ins and outs of "body odor", my main complaints have been with poor customer service, missing belongings, and dishonest/purposely hard to follow quotes. I did not realize that in addition to my father being asked to help carry and load my belongings into the truck, I was also responsible to follow around the mover and do my own inventory list. I was under the impression that was why I hired a moving company, to save me that trouble. I don't know the shorthand he used and I was not told the procedure he was going through to inventory. Again, I did not realize that was my responsibility. That must have been why not all my belongings were returned to me. And my main complain was the lack of clear communication as to the location and delivery of my items. I spoke to 4-5 different individuals at Patriot Moving, from the head of customer service, ***, to her employees, *** and the other gentleman, to the salesperson I originally signed up with, Shane. Each gave me a different answer as to when my belongings would arrive. Because of that confusion, I started to fear I had been taken advantage of and was scammed. I'm still not assured my items would have been delivered if I hadn't been so diligent in contacting them. I had to reach out to several different contacts up to 2 dozen times. Not once did a representative reach out to me to inform me about the move of my items. And when I did speak to anyone, I felt that I was inconveniencing them. Repeatedly my things were called a "mini move" and they made every point to tell me my things were not a priority until a bigger move came this way. I do not accept the business's response. They do not acknowledge any of my concerns and seem quite argumentative. As a consumer that did nothing but hire them to do a service, I felt I did more work than them in ensuring my belongings arrived. And still, I paid extra because I was given different stories by different employees and was treated as an inconvenience, not a customer.

Patriot Moving Group Response • Jun 11, 2019

Patriot Moving Group does not believe that our agreement is dishonest or misleading. We believe our agreement is clearly stated, important information is bolded and italicized for the customers convenience and understanding. At anytime if *** felt as if she did not fully understand a portion of our 2-page agreement. She could have contacted customer service and spoke with a live representative. Who would have explained to her the information that she did not understand on a recorded line. This service is available Monday - Friday between 9am - 5:30 pm eastern standard time. *** was required to assist the movers with her inventory list during a walk through of her home because a revised estimate needed to be completed during the time of pick-up. This is for *** protection, so that the foreman knows that he is loading the correct items. As I'm sure anyone can understand, customer sometimes switch items last minute or have multiples of the same items. Due to this common occurrence we need our customers to confirm the inventory list during a walk through.
*** indicated on the Bill Of Lading that she was unavailable for delivery for two and half weeks after she was pick-up. The carrier put ***'s items into transit after the first available delivery date has arrived. The typical transit time for a move of ***'s size and distance is 2-14 business days which was meet by our carrier. ***'s move was in fact small but that did not delay her delivery. We operate with shared partition trucks so regardless if her move was 297 cubic feet or 950 cubic feet our truck still needs to be full to capacity before being put into transit.

I was quoted a price after they checked inventory and upon arrival price increased 1,000 dollars with less items.
On April 22, 2019 upon arrival for pick up of my items the movers quoted me a price that was 1,000 dollars more then the original quoted price. We were on the phone for some time with Patriot movers senior rep *** and the third party company they hired to do the moving. We inquired about the cost they said because some of our items were "bulkier" we asked which items they said the original quote was for a small deep freezer yours was large and that the Kings spring mattress was in two parts and not just one. So we asked them to leave the spring box and only fill us up to 500 cu feet we were quoted, the movers proceeded to load things past the cubic feet, they were asked to stop and did not and when we called The third party moving company supervisor, his answer was we should have been monitoring closer and called when they surpassed the 500 cu ft, we asked them to remove it they said they would charge us to unpack it. Keep in mind we had less items loaded then what were in the original quote. We removed a whole treadmill, a barbecue grill, an ottoman also had less boxes and still care out in the hole 1,000 dollars. They could not explain why. Then I asked well how much to just remove it all because we were getting scammed they said they would keep the original deposit 700 plus dollars and charge half is the moving quote because they were "there all day." So either I lost all my money and they move it or I lost all my money and they don't move it. For the movers to stop
Moving things we had to call *** who later said, I did have to tell them to stop but this was ten minutes ago and they have been there all day. The supervisor from the third party moving company states "that we had been difficult all weekend and they have had trouble reaching me." I saved my call log and I have every time they've called and I have answered or returned their call. Initially they called to confirm that there were no delays and they would arrive between 11 and 3 on 4/21 then at 1pm they called and said they would not be there until 4/22 between 11 and 4. They do have a 48 hour window they want you to be available but there was no communication that they weren't going to be able to come until 1pm, two hours before the window would be up. I asked for compensation for this, they said there will be none and only one person could be reached because it was Easter holiday weekend. Not acceptable. Also I can no longer see the previous quote online that I signed it says the job is booked and contact customer service. I signed that document I should have access to it. *** was initially rude but apologized and later was not, the head of the third party moving company was rude the whole time. Up charging because you know my hands are tied after you've started loading our stuf! Then loading things against our will! It's a sham and after googling Patriot scam I found several stories like mine.

Desired Outcome

I am expecting my original quote price without the 1,000 dollars extra.

Document Attached***
Hello,

Most importantly on behalf of Patriot Moving Group we wish you a fast and speedy recovery from the hospital. In regards to the delivery, unfortunately it is stated very clearly in our agreement that was electronically signed in agreement to terms by you on 04/16/2019. I have attached this document and the revised estimate to this response. Once your delivery trailer is ready to be loaded your goods along with any other customers headed towards the same area are then put into transit. The goods need to be off loaded in order to continue the route for the following customers. In your case you were asking for 3 additional days in order to receive the goods when the drivers were already at your location. Our policy in order to not disrupt other clients receiving times is to off load in a local storage facility until the customer is ready to receive the goods. In order to do a re delivery a new crew must be dispatched / labor costs / and storage fees are all associated to this. This is calculated as $1.00 per cf as shown on the revised estimate attached to this response. Below is the section from the agreement that discusses this issue. Again both our carrier and Patriot Moving Group are sympathetic to your situation but we have to follow guidelines and policies to ensure fairness and equality to all of our customers.

TERMS OF PAYMENTS: Upon booking a 20% deposit (plus binding estimate fee) is required to be paid in the form of credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover), cashier's check, or ACH electronic check. Prior to pickup, 50% of the balance is due in the form of cashier's check, cash, postal or money order. Should you require payment with credit card at pickup, a 4-5% surcharge will apply. At delivery the balance is due prior to unloading in the form of Post Office Money Order or Cash only. The carrier reserves the right to collect up to 70% of balance due prior to the goods leaving the origin state. Subject to federal law, payment in FULL of all charges is required before delivery and prior to unloading. Subject to the 110% law, if applicable. All charges are based on carrier's full tariff rates. If payment is not made then the carrier may place the goods in storage until payment is made; in such case the customer will be responsible for all storage and re delivery fees.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They only addressed the reason why they felt they could not accommodate delivery in 3 days while I was in the hospital they didn't address why I was quoted a price and charged 1,000 dollars more with a thorough list of inventory and even less items packed than the original quote. Stating my "items were bulky and when asked which is which ones they stated the freezer, and they packed items on the truck that we asked them not to pack and when asked to remove they were going to charge us to have them removed stating they been there all day and we should have supervised the movers closer

Customer Response • May 16, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This response is not satisfactory. We did dispute with the company at time of pick up. We told them to only pack what is in the originally quoted space and do not go over, the movers packed over anyway and would not stop. Then told us they would charge us to unload the things and the manager said we should have watched them closer. Also the original quote they are speaking of had more items then we ended up moving. Even with "bulky items" which were included on the original quote we did not take a treadmill, an ottoman, and a grill that were all on the original quote. So essentially we must have been under quoted. We gave them a thorough list, how can the final price be 1,000 dollars more with less items. Also the mover had my husband sign that form before he filled in the final numbers. So I would like to know what the next steps are to bring this matter to light.

Patriot Moving Group Response • Jun 11, 2019

When a customer request to have certain items to be loaded onto the truck. The items need to be packed properly, our foremen are required to pack the items for the safety of the customer items and the safety of other customers items. Even though the bulky items were listed on the original quote. Patriot was not informed of the massive size of the items prior pick-up. We make sure to finalize all price adjustments prior to loading the customer items on to avoid this issue. We also confirm the adjustment to make sure they can afford the new moving cost. If they can't afford the adjustment, then we come up with another arrangement with the customer. If the carrier doesn't agree to the price adjustment prior to loading, the customer would just be signing a blank document.
