Review: I purchased a PASLODE Nailer/Stapler IM250A from this store off the internet because it was guaranteed to have been "Fully tested & Completely functional." The item was not as described - it does not work at all!! Order was not processed for 100 hours and took 8 days for shipping instead of 1 - 5 as listed when payment was made. Called to return and they refuse to pay for the return shipping and now I am out a working product, shipping cost and cost to have it fixed!!When purchased there was no policy made clear that they would not pay to return the item since they guaranteed that it was in working order. A consumer should not be penalized for purchasing a product that they are in good faith believing will work since the company guarantees it works, otherwise there is no guarantee in the first place!!! I paid $122 to purchase and ship it and now another $100 to have it fixed working. They owe me at least the $122 that I paid for this item since it was guaranteed to work. The link below is to the ad I purchased from. [redacted]Desired Settlement: I paid $122 to purchase and ship it and now another $100 to have it fixed working. They owe me at least the $122 that I paid for this item since it was guaranteed to work.

Review: Pawned my tv here several times last time I got it back the back of the tv was all scuffed and scratched, and the tv stand part had a huge scratch. When I brought the damage to the managers attention the first claimed that they could not have damaged the tv because it just sat on a shelf. I mentioned that it was not damaged when brought in or they would have written it on the [redacted] ticket, the manager started offering me "huge" discounts if I wanted to purchase something else. I explained that I did not want to give more money to a company who damaged my property and then lied about it later admitting being wrong.

I contacted the corporate offices of [redacted] 1st and was told I would be contacted by someone in a few days. That was December 18th 2014 and I never was contacted. Now I have a damaged tv and a bunch of their lies and nothing elseDesired Settlement: I estimate the damage to be $100 that is what I would expect back

I've been doing business with [redacted] 1st for over a year now, about a month ago, one of their reps was rude and trash talked a coworker in front of me. At that point I brought in money to redeem all of my pawned items and stated I would never do business with them again. As a fairly frequent customer, I was in the top 10% of their customers on the rating profile they use so they asked me to please rethink my decision and even offered a free DVD to come back to their store in the future. Since that time, I fell into financial hardships and have gone back twice. Once with a tablet which, upon closing the [redacted] they had lost the power cable for, and once with a musical instrument. The instrument [redacted] had a violin, bow and case. It was in the description and on camera. When I returned to pick up and payback the instrument [redacted], the bow was missing. The manager made note of this along with the description, copied the [redacted] return ticket and asked if I could come back once he looked at surveillance tapes to locate it. After reviewing them, he called me back in and said I would need to purchase a bow of a comparable model and come in with the receipt to be refunded. I told him I would shop around for one that was similar, told him the cost of the one [redacted] 1st had lost, and told him 4 different places I would look before buying. When I returned with the receipt for the comparable model he was angry and disrespectful. He stated he could find violin bows for 30$ and I bought one that was150$ I explained that a 30$ bow was not the same material, quality or level that mine was. He then stated that he did not want me to come back to do business anymore and that reimbursement for the bow was out of courtesy and tried to claim that my bow was not in the case. After he looked through security tapes and read the [redacted] description. I explained that, after this stunt they pulled, they would never get my business again. [redacted] 1st looses your belongings and then blames you for it. Lamented, they are unprofessional and thieving.

Review: I had a rong and a watch that was due the end of july I never had a ticket for I went in today to pay for all my other items that were due today and was able to pick up my watch still from the end of july but the diamond ring they sold on me without a phone call or anything to warn me that my ticket expired that ring was a sentmental item and the diamonds that were in the nugget ring came from my mothers engagement ring I asked the store manager if he could contact the person that bought the ring and see if I could buy it back and he told me its not in there practice to do something like that nor would he be willing to do it alsoDesired Settlement: they have the weight of the gold and the size of all the diamonds that were in the ring I want it replaced ..plain and simple and I will keep complaining to whoever I have to til this gets resolved

Response:

Hello [redacted],Your loan on the watch and ring expired on June 30, 2015. We do have a 10 day courtesy period after a loan defaults before we expire the loan completely and place for sale. After the 10 days we must sell the item. This is how our business works and how we stay in business. You came in to retrieve your items a month and a half after they had expired. The watch hadn't sold yet however the ring did. It is unethical to call a customer after purchasing an item especially jewelry. If the purchaser offered to another for the purpose of marriage. Are they supposed to ask for it back? We also must take into consideration the privacy privileges of our purchasing customer. We are sorry you lost track of your loan due date and for your loss, however threatening our company with continuous review harassment is a waste of time. We have done nothing wrong.Take care

I didnt agree with there response about it possibly being used as a wedding ring and that I wouldnt like it if I had to give it back ....that nugget ring was my fathers who past away and that is the only thing I had to remember him by my stepbrother took everything else he owned .I took the nugget ring and my mother gave me the original engagement ring from my parents and let me take the diamonds out of it and put them into the nugget ring so that is what I did ,so I hope you can understand why I would have appreciated a phone call from the pawn shop to remind me that the ticktet had expired and I would have gladly went in and either renewed it or picked it up but now im left without anything and I dont think its fair .....

Regards,

This organization bought stolen property at one of their shops. The serial number came back and matched my police report. I went to the [redacted] shop to collect my item. They paid $65 for it so I offered them $65 so they wouldn't take a loss. The manager then tells me that they are going to charge me $128 for it and they normally sell it at $138 so I'm still getting a discount and that there is nothing unethical about doing that. I was blown away by this! Do not ever go to this [redacted] shop!!!!!!

I have used the services of [redacted] 1st multiple times, and have never had an issue. I have pawned a TV and Playstation more than once, and every time my items come back as they went in. I believe strongly that if I ever had an issue, that I could have it resolved by the managers at the store. They have always been more than helpful the couple of times I had to pay my bill late.

Review: I took out a title loan for $350 on my Nissan xterra. I have made all of my payments on time. I recently traded in my Nissan at [redacted] for a newer vehicle. As a part of the trade [redacted] is paying off the remaining balance of the title loan. Multiple [redacted] representatives from [redacted] have contacted [redacted] first and received a payoff letter and are now just waiting in the funds from the finance company to complete the transaction and payoff the title loan. I keep receiving threatening calls from a [redacted] 1st representative stating that he is going to repossess the xterra if I do not make a payment. He is very unprofessional and I have asked multiple times for him to deal directly with [redacted] but he insists on calling me multiple times and making incorrect incoherent states like my loan wasn't approved and I won't have a car if I don't make a payment. I have never dealt with such unprofessionalism in my life. I have already paid well more than the loan balance in the course of me having the title loan and it's just despicable that this individual is so greedy to try to receive another payment on Christmas eve of all days when he has been informed multiple times that he will receive the payoff amount from [redacted]. This is just a clear example of how these title loan companies have no morals.Desired Settlement: I want [redacted] first to stop harassing me and be patient for the transaction to complete itself.

Response:

Ms. [redacted],I received the Revdex.com complaint you filed, and we’re sorry you felt that action was necessary. We apologize if you felt our collector was impolite. Having reviewed the file I am able to confirm that his actions were appropriate for the situation as explained below. Although you gave the vehicle to [redacted] as part of a transaction with them on November 29th, for reasons unknown they did not pay off your loan until December 30th. You first informed us that [redacted] had possession of the car on December 3rd. Once we were aware of your transaction with the dealership we tried contacting them on numerous occasions for the settlement. They said they would get back to us but never did. Ultimately all responsibility remains with you until the loan and interest is paid off in full. This is an out of the ordinary situation where you attempted to pass on the loan responsibility to another party which can cause confusion and problems. It is difficult for both of us when a third party, over which we have no control, breaks its’ agreement with you and causes the loan to become past due. This was the reason for our urgency in contacting you. This loan accrues interest daily, so it is in your best interest that we have communication. We were able to reach the dealerships general manager on Monday December 29th, and he sent a check for the full amount overnight, which was received December 30th. It is important to know that the loan was roughly 3 weeks past due and they paid the full amount including interest to the current date. They were clearly having internal issues with processing this payoff and unfortunately it impacted both of us.I want to ensure you that the account is now settled and hope you have a wonderful holiday season.I have also attached a copy of the invoice and check they sent, for your personal records. If the Revdex.com doesn't allow you to download the attachment please email me so that I may send you a copy. Take care[redacted]

[redacted] first advertises that the take loans on anything but yet I have been in there three or 4 times and they have rejected the sale of most of my items. The staff at [redacted] first is extremely rude and unprofessional. And the location I frequent is the one of Thomas and 34 St. The first time I went in I had an antique hair dryer from 1950 it was portable on rolls on wheels. I didn’t want a whole lot for it may be like 20 dollars. When I brought it in the guy laughed at me and said we don’t take that. Then I had a modem and 5 DVDs I wanted to sell to them. He said that they don’t take modems because they have no way of testing them yet they have 3 of them on display for sale on the shelf. He told me that I could get a few dollars for them but he said that anytime someone pawns something the minimum value has to be ten dollars. So once again I was unable to sell my stuff to them. So I took the same stuff over to super [redacted] off of 48th st and McDowell and they bought my modem and dvds no questions asked and I got 7 dollars just for my dvds and they even bought my modem. My third dealing with [redacted] first involved a gift card. I had a gift card from GameStop that I no longer wanted that had 20 dollars on it. I saw online and noticed that [redacted] First buys gift cards and I thought that was great. So I called them up and spoke to the manager and asked him how much I would get for it and he said they don’t take anything less than 25 dollars. So once again I was unable to sell my item to them. So I come in to [redacted] first a third time I try to sell my converter box and obd 2 reader a USA silver dollar some foreign money and a couple pieces of silver jewelry. Despite my bad experiences with [redacted] first I decided to try to sell my stuff there because I knew that they sold coins and other collectable items. They would not take the obd reader, the converter box had no remote despite it being fully functional, they wouldn’t take the money and would only over the face value for my silver dollar because it was newer than 1943, and they wouldn’t take the jewelry because they went 100% pure silver. I told them that I had been in here 3 times and that when I took the modem and other stuff to super [redacted]. I thought if I had told them that another business would take my stuff that they may honor or beat the competitor’s price. But the assistant manager was just rude. The rep said that if I had any universal remote that he would buy it for ten dollars. So I went back home got a universal remote and brought it back into them. The remote was not programed but the box worked and they guy couldn’t even work the tv to set it up and told me that since the remote wasn’t programed they wouldn’t take it. So I said to him “you won’t take it even with the remote” and then the assistant manager comes out and says very rudely super [redacted] will.” The staff at [redacted] first is very rude and un professional I work in retail and I know if I acted that way towards any customer I could get reprimanded. [redacted] first says they take loans on just about anything but fails to do so in so many cases. I did not want a lot for my stuff and was more than willing to negotiate a lower price. I would not recommend [redacted] first as the staff are rude and unprofessional.

Review: I pawned my 28 year old excellent condition [redacted] antique dragonfly, replica lamp for 75 dollars I went back three months later and paid the interest for another three months. When I picked it up today they had the shade wrapped in saran wrap so I did not know until I got home they had dropped and broken the glass shade I did notice there was a small dent where the top hole was and told them . They said we will give you 27 dollars interest back for the dent I said ok because I could fix the dent but when I got home and unwrapped the shade with my wife the glass shade was broken all over and they tried to glue the pieces back together. Its ruined and my mother gave me this antique [redacted] lamp I called them as soon as I unwrapped it and they denied even wrapping it. But I recorded on my phone a video of most of it wrapped because as I was unwrapping I noticed a piece of glass broken. After the video with the shade mostly wrapped I unwrapped the rest to see broken pieces all over, and glue where they tried to glue all the pieces back together. I am a honest person and they would not have even let me [redacted] this lamp as it is now with all the broken glass on the shade they would have put the shade is all busted up on the ticket when I pawned it. They dropped it thats why it had a dent and why they wrapped it. They knew I would not find out until I got it home I also have the [redacted] receipts, and I only borrowed 75 dollars because I knew I was able to get it back. Please help this lamp was valuable and my elderly sick mother wanted me to have this to remember her by[redacted]. . .Desired Settlement: Since the lamp is a antique [redacted] dragonfly replica,I want to take it to three antique dealers and get the monetary value before it was damaged. . . thank you

Response:

Hi [redacted],This is a difficult situation and one that we rarely encounter. Our pawn waiver covers us from instances such as this because people have broken items on the trip home then will try to hold us accountable. We wrap all fragile items to protect them from damage and did not do this on purpose. In this case it is hard to determine who was at fault. Either way we would like to work with you to recover your loss. Please take the lamp to three antique dealers as you stated and get the monetary value before it was damaged. Please visit our metro location and provide proof of your evaluations to the manager. We will take into consideration the emotional value and the antique dealers value to determine a suitable amount of reimbursement. We are very sorry this happened and hope to see you soon.

Review: have called several times and spoke to a couple different people about my issue. Each time I have been spoken to very rudely and also been told I would be called back and never was. This has been going on for 6 months now. I have not been able to sell the vehicle do today doing this to me.Desired Settlement: we can settle on a fair price so I can get the title back in a timely matter

[redacted] came into our [redacted] location on 1/29/13 and took out a loan. She made payments on 2/27/13 and 3/29/13. [redacted] defaulted on her loan on 4/28/13. After she defaulted on her loan we attempted to contact her on numerous occasions, on the phone number she had provided on her application. Then we spoke on 7/22/2013, [redacted] told us she was in [redacted] and was unable to settle the debt at that time. After many failed attempts at contacting [redacted], she contacted us on 8/14/2014 and asked for a settlement offer on her loan. A manager had to approve a settlement. We attempted to contact her on 8/14/2014 with a settlement offer. [redacted] did not answer and we were unable to leave a message due to her message service. We have left a voice mail on 8/27/2014, left a message with a male on 8/28/2014, and on 9/2/2014 [redacted] stated she would call us back because she was in a meeting. [redacted] failed to call us back to work out a settlement. I am withholding actual figures for privacy reasons. [redacted] must call us at [redacted] for a settlement offer.
