I provided a lot of information and was 'approved' for three different options. The rates were okay but not out of this world. I provided a TON of information; SSN, bank account info, CC numbers, and personal data. Then they respond with false information from my credit - an account is delinquent. This feels like a total scam, I'll be talking to my bank to change my accounts. I'm current on everything, have fantastic credit, just wanted to consolidate some debt at a better rate. I'm incredibly nervous that they now have all of this data, it feels like a bait and switch.

Revdex.com - please look into them, I'm very worried what they'll do now they stole all my banking info.

I was able to consolidate 2 high interest credit cards into a lower interest rate with Payoff, and I JUST made my final payment with them today! Whoohoo! This was a full year sooner than I expected to pay it off. I highly recommend them for paying off debts! Their customer service team is amazing as well!

I am new to this. I called Payoff and they talked to me like a child. Conversation lead nowhere fast and I ended the call on a negative basis. Wasted my time and all I can do is blame myself for trying!!

I took out a 48 month loan for 24k. I was charged a $1000 “origination fee”. My total was 25k which I was okay with. Due to unforeseen complications (the Covid 19 pandemic) my wife lost her job and our finances changed so rapidly that I was forced to liquidate my retirement. I called to pay off my loan after only having it for 91 days. The total was nearly $26,200 due to interest accruing at 18.99% for that 91 days. I spoke with a customer service representative and then a manager, I explained to them the unique nature of my situation and requested a reduction in The origination fee or the interest amount. They refused to budge and insisted I pay off the full amount. I knew the loan was predatory when I took it but I had no idea how predatory. They could have chosen to help me out by reducing my interest charges or my origination fee, instead they spoke in circles and tried to explain to me that I was the it who signed for the loan. This company pretends to be different from other lenders, they pretend to be “for the customer”... it’s a facade. They are predators. Beware.

As an overall experience, Pay Off has been a good company to consolidate with but not excellent. Payments are easy to make online. However, the main reason I choose them is because I was told I could make additional payments to the loan with no penalties. This is true but they make it as difficult as possible. When I asked, they did not inform me that you can ONLY pay the amount of your monthly bill online. They require that you submit a paper check via snail mail if you want to make an additional payment. This is a good may for a check to be stolen which does not help someone get out of debt.

As far as answering my questions, when I reach out to customer service, all people I have interacted with have been helpful. Overall, I wish I had selected a different company to consolidate with that would allow me to make additional payments over the phone or via the website.

I should have read the reviews before eating my time. Filled out what they needed, supplied my drivers license and person information. They contacted me in regards to needing additional information. I replied right away and was told their system couldn’t generate the questions, I called back the next day and was told the same thing. Then I received an email stating I was denied because they couldn’t verify my identity. After calling they basically told me tough luck, a decision had been made. What a waste of my time.

I have a mid 700 credit score. I have done consolidation loans with 2 other companies and paid both off more than a year early. I liked the payoff website and rate so I decided to give them a shot, boy what a waste of time. They asked for docs, I provided them. They asked for more docs, I provided them...this went on 5 different times. Come on. I am borrowing $9000 and I have great credit. Horrible customer service. Bummer, their website was so promising. BEWARE!

This company reports false information to your credit report, when you challenge it through credit Bureau’s they send back the same false information. I called them and they said they would get it corrected and 30 days later still nothing.

Waste of time and false advertising. They mailed me a "pre-approved" letter. Then, requested all kinds of proof of income etc.

I've had a loan with Payoff since 07/2018. It should be done in 06/2021, but I have gone through a series of financial troubles that have made paying my loan each month very difficult. The first time I called, I was in a money crunch, Payoff's Goal Realignment Specialist at the time was able to cut my payment in half for three months with the caveat that it would just get added to my last three payments. It really helped me in those three months of struggle.

Side note, they do NOT charge late fees which is amazing. BUT, pay it off before the next month's end or it will get send to the credit bureaus as a late payment and will ding your credit score. I made this mistake once with Payoff.

Today, I am 5 months pregnant with baby #2, my husband doesn't work and I work full time but will have to go on maternity leave in a few months. I called Payoff today trying to see what options I had to lower my loan amount and extend the lifespan of the loan because I'm thinking about not having any paychecks during maternity leave (the company I work for is too small for State Disability benefits). A very patient Goal Realignment Specialist explained my options to me. He was very understanding, very kind and had a very calm demeanor. He offered to postpone my payment this month with the caveat that I would have to pay it at the end. And he said once the baby is born and I'm on leave, I can call back for a Loan Modification to do exactly what I asked - lower the payment and/or postpone the payments for 6 months and extend the life of the loan by 6 months. I was really surprised they had this option! Instead of just telling me sorry you have to pay, sucks for you type thing.

Considering that I've already asked them for a favor once and they're granting me two more says a lot about their flexibility and customer service. They are making it more than easy for myself/the consumer to make sure that this loan continues to benefit me and for me to pay it off without penalties. I think that's amazing! I really commend this company and their staff for being flexible where other loan companies would probably add hidden fees and flag you as a terrible person or severely kill your credit score. It is wonderful that this company has maintained it's mission to TRULY HELP its consumers and show HUMAN KINDNESS. I'm seriously in awe that all this was possible.

Thank you so much for caring. Brings tears to my eyes. I cannot even put into words the financial hardship I've been going through these past few years. THANK YOU.

I have been one of their customers for over 6 months now. Their customer service is terrible! They don't care at all about you. I've spent countless hours and talking to countless people about the mistakes that they are making with my payments. Two months later and nothing has been fixed and I'm still getting calls everyday because of the mistakes they keep making. I'm so fed up! I wish I never had used them. I was promised 4 different times that the situation was taken care of but then they still call me. Promised several times that I shouldn't have to hear from them again. And yet I still get calls and emails everyday because they messed up my payments. I'm telling you to not waste your time because they have no idea what they are doing.

Dont waste your energy with them. I got approved. Sent in all the paperwork. Got an email stating the loan was declined. Wasted 3 days sending them paperwork. Reason for decline. Inquiry to apply for another loan. DO NOT was your time.

I was given the option to have a Trial Modification for 3 months by ***. When I tried to contact him back the following day to advise him that I would like the trial modification he would not respond back. I was able to speak with someone name Pedro that advised me that I could not have the trial modification. This is the second time that I was given different info from two different reps.

Disgusting company. I took a loan out with Payoff Inc, and paid off over half of the loan (about 6,000) over 7 months. I then was offered a great balance transfer interest rate, so decided to pay off the remaining money and close out my account with Payoff. Despite closing my account, they charged me $500 when the next bill would have been due. I talked with COUNTLESS individuals at Payoff (during work hours, because despite their advertised business hours, I have never been able to get a hold of anyone after about 3:30 PM PST), who sent me back and forth between each other, and was eventually given my best option of 'waiting two weeks for the refund to come through'. this happened in August, it is now November, and I still have not received my refund. I've never been treated so poorly by a financial institution, and would NEVER. LITERALLY NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Seriously, get your loans elsewhere, PAYOFF IS HORRIBLE.

I applied based on a preapproval and jumped through hoops to give them every piece of information and was told they can't verify my identity. I gave my social, paystubs, license , bank information and photo copies. I waited around two weeks and was told they cannot verify my identity. I was in touch with various members of the team throughout the process making sure my documents were the correct ones and never had any problems. Then I received an email stating I was denied because they cannot verify my identity.

I then contacted customer service to have a 30 minute broken record conversation about the issue with no resolution. I was repeatedly told well I cannot explain what exactly the issue was . So I was denied but nobody can tell me the specifics or a way to resolve the issue.

Terrible customer service and a waste of time. Now this company has all the information needed to steal my identity and has dropped my credit score since application. I was told by customer service there wasn't anything anyone could explain further.

Applied for a loan through Payoff.com. Sent them all adequate information that was requested which included my bank account numbers, social security number, drivers license — among many other personal information.

I was declined based on "Reasons why you were not approved: We were unable to verify your identity based on the information provided", even after having speaking with two "Verification Specialists" about and confirming my personal information.

When calling Customer Service to get a further explanation, they were only able to confirm that the above reason and not give any further explanation. There was no option to even contest the outcome, which I find this troubling as I've met all stringent requirements and now fear my personal information has been compromised.

Hello, I have set up an automatic payment monthly through payoff inc. On October 8th they made a double debit out of my bank account and acknowledged that they’re at fault. It still hasn’t been returned to my bank account and nothing seems to be being done on their end. They asked me to submit a picture of the double payment out of my bank and I complied immediately. All I’m looking forward is the refund of the mistake they made.

Please see the attached response to Mr. regarding his complaint filed to the Revdex.com on 10/15/19 for his Payoff loan.

Thank you,

Payoff

I was pre approved for a consolidation loan. I was asked for tax returns, linking to the account my pay was deposited to, and 2 previous pay stubs.
I supplied all these things, I was then told my pay stubs weren’t “official” so I requested, from our VP of finance an “official” paystub. He told me the stubs were all there was but he would be happy to fill out any document proving employment or income they asked for. Payoff then told me they wouldn’t accept any of that and said I needed these paystubs I didn’t have.

So, after providing them exactly what they asked for, and finding people who were willing to give them more information they wouldn’t approve or deny my loan. They dinged my credit, wasted my time, wasted the time of my co workers, after again in good faith I gave them every document they asked for. They asked me if I wanted to cancel my application and I told them no I wanted them to finish the process and approve or deny the loan.

Please find the attached response to Mr. complaint to Payoff, Inc.

I have consolidated my credit card with with Payoff in August 2019. My first payment was due 9/15/2019. I was set on auto-pay. Payoff credited my checking account DOUBLE the amount of the payment due. It took nearly a week to get my money back. Then Payoff refunded the original payment. So now I have to make the payment again. I called on September 30 and made the payment over the phone. I was told the payment would credit my checking account on 10/2/2019. This did not happen. I called 10/3/2019 and was told it didn't go thru and they would credit my account on 10/7/2019 and I would receive a confirmation email on 10/4/2019. I have received no confirmation from anyone that my payment is going thru. They don't provide receipts for payments. The customer service people are clueless and don't fix issues. I'm nearly 3 weeks late on my payment because they're unable to accept payments or figure out what the issue is. This is absolutely ridiculous.

I want this loan sold to another company

This company is a joke! They waste your time take for ever to process then told me they couldn't validate my income. I gave them a BANK STATEMENT! It was right there in black and white!
Then when I call and try to tell them they must have made a mistake they told me there isn't anything they can do about it! Decision has been made! If the reason they gave was completely incorrect you would THINK they would want to make it right! But NO, they acted as if they just didn't give a damn.
It took them 10 DAYS to do this and then the ONLY reason for a denial was a flat out lie. Not sure how they are in business.
Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time and effort sending them all your info... They do great advertising but the customer is not important to them.
