Perfection Handyman Services Reviews (24)

Excellent work, whether it be interior/extetior home painting, general small job servicrs (toilets, ceiling fans, etc...) they do it all perfectly, professionally and skillfully.

Review: I sent a certified letter (dated 12-11-13) to [redacted], owner ofPerfection Handyman Service (please see letter attached.) requesting a written statement

from him that my roof job was warranted for both product and workmanship for five years as agreed upon. [redacted] has neither called or written in response to my letter and it has been almost a month. I thought this could be simply resolved because what I asked for was son1ething already agreed upon but didn't receive.

I was appalled when his employee, [redacted], called me on 12-13-13 and left me a voice mail trying to justify his actions. Because of his actions this person no longer has credibility with me. On the voice mail [redacted] stated that the roof material would not stick if he hadn't prep-cleaned it. Well he didn't so now I'm thinking that the roofing

material is going to have to be removed and the job done over correctly which is going to cost me double on what I have already paid. Also he said, on the voice mail, that the roof was warranted for five years. Then why wasn't I sent the statement I requested?

Desired Settlement: In light of everything I feel that the job was done incompetently and the product applied needs to be removed and reapplied correctly. Since [redacted] has made no attempt to contact me, I feel he doesn't take this issue seriously and all trust has been broken. [redacted] has left me with no choice but to ask for my money back ($700) and I get another contractor to do this job correctly.

Response:

Dear [redacted]I called you today in hopes of discussing this complaint. I see you would rather go threw someone else. I wish you had called us just after the job or during the job when [redacted] was doing your roof. When I received your letter I was shocked at everything that I was supposed to of said to you. I never said that you would be getting 2 coats of elastimeric. I am not a contractor nor a roofer. The 5 year warrenty is only on new roof replacement. I seen where [redacted] had written on your paperwork that the elastemeric is warrented for 5 years. We would of course take care of leaking problems. Note at the bottom of our paperwork that you received it says 2 years on workmanship. [redacted] is a very hard and fast worker, time is money to [redacted]. If he did not look at your gutters or write up a bid for your gutters then Please why didnt you call us back so we could take care of it. Your roof coating will stick to your roof.Customers are our eyes and ears on these jobs so when you did not call to let us know sometime we thought everything is GOOD. I still dont understand the certified letter. Like I tried to do today call us and lets get someone to look at your gutter problems.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

In response to your letter dated 01-15-14:

1. I did notify

the company immediately of

the problem and I

d id one better

then

a phone call,

I did it by certified mail. This was

so there

can be no

questions

of who said

what.

2. I can only guess that the response is from[redacted] as I wasn't privy

to the original

correspondence. She states she never said

that my roof

would get two coats or be warranted for 5 years.

Well she did say that or I wouldn't of agreed

to the j

ob. Al

so [redacted] confirmed it on his voice

mail to me on 12-13-13. He admits that[redacted] was correct in saying

the roof would be coated twice and be warranted for

5 years. I have this message saved on my

cell p hone if the

Revdex.com would

care to listen to it. He al so

said,

on this voicemail , that

he swept my roof

and checked m y gutters, which he didn't. He

was only on the roof a total of 1 hr and 15 minutes.

It I s impossible for him to competently do all he said he did

in that

amount of time.

3. [redacted] states

that my roof coating will stick

but right above that she states she is

not a contractor

nor a roofer. [redacted] stated on the 12-13-13 voice mail that

if he hadn’t of swept the

roof the

material would not stick.

Well he didn't and

that

has

been my main concern.

4.

This issue could have been solved

very simply without involving the

Revdex.com by Mr. Goodman responding to

my letter of 12-11-13 with

the

agreed to 5 year

warranty. I am very puzzled that [redacted] voice is not heard

in this. Does he still

exist?

5. My

roof job was

done incompetently, the customer service

has been

atrocious, I

want nothing

More to do with this company and I want

my money back. I feel I am

going to

have

to have

the product [redacted] applied removed and

reapplied correctly. This is probably going to cost me twice what I have

already paid.

Response:

I have made myself very clear about not being able to discuss this on the phone. I have never gotten a call from [redacted] stating a complaint about if the elastomirc will stick or not. I heard of this complaint only by Revdex.com. I tried to call [redacted] to discuss and get resolved over the phone when I learned of this complaint - there was no answer. We at perfection Handyman take pride in all of our customers and give customer satisfaction. We did the job correct. [redacted] has laid down 2 coats of elastamiric and he also personally guaranteed this job himself for 5 years. We at Perfection Handyman have a guarantee of 2 years on workmanship as stated at the bottom of our paperwork. [redacted] has stated that he would give you a 3rd coat if you wanted. If you want to discuss this further please call Perfection Handyman 480-8100 and we can come to an agreement im sure. Review: On September 5, 2013, [redacted] ACI,CMRI from Advanced Look Inspections & Environmental Testing inspected a home we intended to purchase at [redacted]. He found that "the air-conditioning system responded, but only achieved a low differential temperature split between the air entering the system and that coming our. This could indicate that the system is low on refrigerant. The whole system should be evaluated and serviced as needed. Sixteen degrees or more is the normal range and this system was producing 10-12 degrees difference."

We asked our Realtor, [redacted], to add an addendum to the purchase agreement to inspect and repair the HVAC system on September 3, 2013. The sellers had a licensed HVAC contractor (Perfection Handyman Services, LLC) inspect the HVAC unit. There was no active freon leak found, nor visible evidence of freon leak. The technician recommended Indoor/Outdoor coil acid wash to clean system. Seller will have Indoor/Outdoor coils acid washed." The sellers signed the addendum on September 16, 2013. Our realtor emailed a copy of the invoice from Perfection Handyman Services, LLC to us on October 4, 2013, with an invoice from Perfection Handyman Services, LLC attached. They stated that the work was completed on September 30, 2013 and marked paid on October 1, 2013 per invoice 6007 for the amount of $269.50. We believed that Perfection Handyman Services, LLC completed the work due to the invoice we received.

We also purchased a Home Warranty through Old Republic Home Warranty, which includes HVAC seasonal inspections/tune-up. The heating inspection needed to be completed by the end of November per our Home Warranty contract. They recommended [redacted], a licensed HVAC contractor, to complete the inspection. [redacted], an technician for [redacted], checked the HVAC service on November 7, 2013 and found "indoor coil to be very dirty/clogged. System starting on high amps 12.5 failed testing." My husband, [redacted], accompanied Mr [redacted] to the attic to review the coils and found them to be very dirty. We have before and after photos taken by Mr [redacted] that were sent to Perfection Handyman Services for them to review. We had not used the Heating/Air conditioning unit since we moved in. Mr [redacted] stated he could not complete the tune-up until the coils were cleaned. The reason for the poor readings is probably caused by dirty coils. We made the decision to have him clean the coils and finish the tune up. We paid $320.45 to have Mr [redacted] clean the coils. If we would have stopped the tune-up at that point to try and get Perfection Handyman involved we would have had to pay another service fee to [redacted] to have them come back out to finish the tune-up. And one of us would have had to take days off work to have Handyman come out and to have [redacted] come back to finish the tune-up.

My husband [redacted] contacted Handyman and talked to Cindy. He explained the situation and requested a refund of the $320.45 that we had to pay to clean the coils when the coils should have been clean. She said that they wouldnt be able to refund the $320.45 but that they might be willing to pay the $269.50 that they were paid. she would have to check with the owner. She would get back to us in the next day or two either by phone or by email. After a week with no response we called again to request an answer. Cindy emailed the next day and said they would not refund anything because we should have had them come out to re-clean the coils.Desired Settlement: We would like a refund of $320.45 to clean coils that should have already been clean.

Response:

[redacted], there are several things I must point out.<#1. The coil cleanning from Perfection Handyman Services did happen.#2. The Pictures you sent us looks like somebody disturbed some of the air ducts and loose particals clinged to the coils while the A/C was running after the cleanning was done.#3. You never called us back to reclean or inspect or investagate. You just totally asked for a refund.#4. You never hired us directly. (you are the 3rd party)#5. You never paid us directly (also being the 3rd party)#6. Reporting us to the Revdex.com under the circumstance was very unprofessional. It was out of anger.#7. I feel we owe you no refund under the above circumstances. [redacted]Perfection Handyman Services LLC

Response:

Attn. [redacted] Perfection Handyman Services LLCOur responses are listed below:#1. The coil cleanning from Perfection Handyman Services did happen. If the cleaning was completed as promised, why were the coils still clogged one month after cleaning, which did not allow the HVAC unit to function properly? #2. The Pictures you sent us looks like somebody disturbed some of the air ducts and loose particals clinged to the coils while the A/C was running after the cleanning was done. The photos that were taken after our contractor just began cleaning the coils. #3. You never called us back to reclean or inspect or investagate. You just totally asked for a refund. We let you know that we already paid for the service call for the contractor to check our HVAC unit. In addition , as my husband advised your secretary, that our contractor could not determine if the HVAC unit was working properly, until the cleaning had been completed. Finally, we no longer had confidence in your work, since were advised that the cleaning was complete and the HVAC unit was in working order, before we closed on our home. #4. You never hired us directly. (you are the 3rd party)The work was done as part of our real estate contract. If necessary, we will pursue this with the realtor and sellers, who did pay you. #5. You never paid us directly (also being the 3rd party)#6. Reporting us to the Revdex.com under the circumstance was very unprofessional. It was out of anger. We advised you that we were going to contact the Revdex.com if the situation was not resolved correctly. A Revdex.com report was completed in an attempt to resolve the matter, since you are unwilling to remedy the situation. #7. I feel we owe you no refund under the above circumstances. If you are unwilling to refund the service fee we had to pay for work that was not completed correctly, we will pursue this in small claims court if necessary.
