Unsafe brake service
The Perfection Tire location in Spokane Valley replaced both front and rear brakes/rotors. From the very first moment, the braking on my car was SIGNIFICANTLY worse than before the replaced the brakes. I have called and taken my car back to them twice with the same issue - car does not slow down or stop well (takes a very long distance), hissing noise can be heard inside the car, brake pedal is EXTREMELY hard to push and then goes straight to the floor. Super severe safety hazard! They told me that the "adjusted a couple of things" each time and sent me on my way. In a car that won't stop. Finally took the car to my own mechanic and found out that the brake booster was damaged during the brake repair. Don't use this shop as they will definitely take advantage of women customers and send you back out on the road with an unsafe braking system that they damaged.

Hi *** In response to complaint ID# *** *** complained of premature tire wear on his purchase of four tires with a 40k mile (pro rated) tread wear warranty...which is industry standardTwo tires were worn out at 30,miles two were near worn outWe offered him
replacement tires with the 25% credit for use not received plus free installation and balancing for two or four*** asked about any used tires that may be available in which we responded by checking inventory stating we only had two mismatched in his size that we would give him for no charge but wouldn’t make any sense to installHe continued wanting new tires but felt he shouldn’t have to pay for them with a for instance example of “if you bought a loaf of bread with a shelf-life of one week, and it went bad in two days it should be replaced free even though you had eaten 75% of it before it went bad”. In any case we honored the written warranty plus free services which he refused to accept. We are willing to go to a refund or credit of 50% of his purchase if it satisfies him either in Tire credit or a refundI will contact *** to resolve. Respectfully , Terry S*** Sent from my iPhone

I spoke this morning with Randy S*** the Owner/Manager of the Perfection Tire location in Coeurd'Alene. While Randy did not take ownership of the problem, he felt strongly that he would not want to lose a valued customer over $He contacted the customer last week who came in
for a full refund

Per Revdex.com complaint [redacted]Perfection Tire # 5I am sorry to hear about your bad experience at our shop. I personally told you we were sending yourvehicle to a Subaru specialist after we had the vehicle for 4 weeks as we were having an issue with waterleaks .It seems we had a defective head gasket. We...

were not able to confirm until my Subaru specialistat the other shop had dissembled the engine again to inspect. The vehicle was at our shop for 4 weeksas it was a very busy time of the year and all the machine shops were booked for cylinder head work. The Subaru repair shop we sent it to also had problems getting Subaru parts as evidently most Subarudealers don't stock parts we needed locally. I personally called you almost daily on the progress of yourvehicle. We offered a rental car which you said you did not need as you have another vehicle. I am sorryI was not there to meet you when the car was done but had my general manager and secretary handledit as I was not available. Perfection Tire did give you the invoice from my Subaru specialist which wascharged to our business at $2587.70. We receive a large discount from this company which normallycharges $3200.00 to $3500.00 for the same job if they were to do it for one of their customers. Wecharged you only $1593.15. You received approximately a $2000 discount to compensate for yourinconvenience. We do care about our customers but sometimes run in to situations beyond ourcontrol. Again, we sincerely apologize for your unfortunate experience.Gary B[redacted]/ OwnerTodd G[redacted]/Manager

Review: I called Perfection Tire store #25 in Pullman, WA, on March 26, 2013 to see how much it would cost to have a diagnostic done on my car because it was not starting and figured it was the fuel pump. I was quoted $15.00 by [redacted] and also told if it was the fuel pump it would cost $460.00 if it had California emission and $770.00 if not. I told him that was fine, because I just needed the fuel pump checked. About an hour later I received a call from [redacted] and was told it was the fuel pump, and to give them about an hour to put the car back together and he would call me when it was ready. I was perplexed why they would need to put me car back together since all I asked for was to have my fuel pumped checked. I told him I would be down to pick up the car because I had to transfer some funds to be able to get it fixed. However when I went to pick up my car, [redacted] proceeded to tell me all of the other items that were wrong with my car and charged my 75.00 for the diagnostic. When I asked him why he said that is what the charge for an hour of diagnostic work. I told him all I had asked for was a diagnostic on the fuel pump. He ignored my question and then proceeded to tell me it would cost $770.00 for the fuel pump even though it has California emissions. I was so shocked of the difference in the prices not to mention doing work on my car that I did not ask for, I just paid the $75.00 and left. However the more I thought about it the more upset I became and do not feel they should be able to just do work on a car when it was not asked for. I understand these stores are franchises but I would like the owner/President [redacted], to know what is going on at this location.Desired Settlement: I would just like them to honor the quote I received and to not do any work that is not requested.

Response:

I apologize for taking a week to respond. It's a busy time for the stores and I have been trying to get an understanding of what occurred in our Pullman location.I spoke several times with the owner of that location, [redacted], who has tried via email and telephone to contact [redacted] to offer a $75.00 refund for the diagnostic time and give his apologies for the misunderstanding.

I contacted Perfection Tire in Orofino, ID about repairing my truck and the broken ball joint that had failed the day before. They gave me a quote and agreed to tow the vehicle into the shop. They fixed the truck and I picked it up the following day, and paid for the work. Two days later the ball joint that was just installed broke off in a similar manner. I had the truck loaded on a trailer and hauled back to their shop. They claimed that they were not responsible for any of the resulting damages and told me I had been jumping the truck or something similar because those parts don't fail without cause. I had been driving the truck like normal and had a witness to prove it. They attempted to make me sign a poorly written agreement with countless grammatical errors, as a legal document specifying that I must take any future claims up with their parts supplier. My wife attempted to pick up the paperwork from their store, and they threatened to remove their parts and return the broken truck to the parking lot like they found it if she didn't sign the form immediately. She refused to sign the form, and I confronted them on the issue the following day. They admitted they had not inspected the suspension system and had only replaced the broken component, claiming they were not responsible for, or expected to inspect the entire suspension system for damage. After extensive arguing, they agreed to replace the upper control arm. They replaced the broken components and issued me a refund with the stipulation that I never return to their store and that they were not liable for any future failures or damage due to failing parts that they installed. I asked what would happen if I pulled the truck out of the parking lot and the same part broke and the manager's response was "What if I get his by a meteor?". I attempted to talk with the owner and he instructed me to talk to his attorney if I had something to say, before turning his back and ignoring me. After the truck was finished it was inspected at a separate shop and shown to be in good working condition.
The repair appears to be satisfactory, but the customer service was not. I felt bullied and scammed, with the fear of another failure looming in my mind as this is a critical component and could lead to death if a future failure occurs. I don't believe they did a thorough inspection of the system initially and wanted to brush that fact away by arguing they were not responsible for any damages, and weren't responsible for a thorough inspection. That combined with the fact that they attempted to force me and my wife to sign an almost unreadable document is unacceptable in my opinion.
