PermaPlate Company, LLC Reviews (72)

This is in response to the complaint reported to the Revdex.com by [redacted], received by PermaPlate on September 23, 2016.  The PermaPlate Appearance Protection Package was purchased by Ms. [redacted] with her 2015 Lexus ES300H on December 19, 2014 and includes Paintguard™,...

Leatherguard™, and Fiberguard™ which are applied to specific surfaces of the vehicle to provide protection against certain listed common environmental hazards.  On 7/30/16 the customer filed a claim for a gouge on the leather on the driver’s door panel.  The Leatherguard product guarantee provides coverage against fading, staining, or cracking of the treated interior leather and vinyl surfaces.  As an additional benefit, the guarantee provides limited coverage for damage due to rips, tears or burns to the leather or vinyl surfaces. Specifically, the product guarantee document states in the Limitations of Coverage Section: “Damage to leather/vinyl surfaces due to rips tears or burns is limited to the cost of reconditioning rather than replacement.” The claim was referred to a local, mobile technician that specializes in traditional leather repairs.  Upon inspection of the damage, the technician indicated that a repair could be done, but would not yield an acceptable cosmetic result.  In lieu of a repair attempt, PermaPlate offered a $200 cash settlement which was rejected by Ms. [redacted].  At the customer’s request, a second technician recommended by the selling dealership was referred to offer a second opinion.  We were informed that the second technician was of the same opinion as the first technician – that a repair would not yield perfect cosmetic results. While we are unable to replace the door panel under the terms of the warranty coverage, we are concerned about customer satisfaction and we believe we have now reached an acceptable settlement with the customer which should close this issue.

This is in response to the complaint reported to the Revdex.com by Ms. [redacted], received by PermaPlate on 7/12/2017. The PermaPlate Appearance Protection Package was purchased by Ms. [redacted] with her previously-owned 2013 Honda Civic on 4/11/2015 and includes Paintguard™,...

Leatherguard™, and Fiberguard™ protection for 5 years. The customer filed a claim with PermaPlate on 7/6/2017 for white patches on the hood, roof and trunk of her vehicle. Upon review of the customers claim information and photographs provided, the damage was determined to be the result of clear coat failure. The Paintguard™ product is a paint sealant which provides protection to the surface of the paint and cannot protect against sub-surface paint issues such as clear coat failure where the clear coat layer of paint separates from the pigmented layer of paint. Furthermore, the warranty coverage for previously-owned vehicles is limited to the cost of professional detailing or reconditioning of the surface. As stated on the warranty form, “Repairs of damage to Previously Owned Vehicles are limited to the cost of professional reconditioning (professional cleaning and/or detailing)”.  If the damage were a covered item, we would not be able to proceed with a repaint of any area of the vehicle. The customer has asked for a repaint of the damaged areas on the vehicle.  We are unable to honor this due to the reasons mentioned above.  However, we do regret any dissatisfaction or misunderstanding experienced by the customer relative to our products or the warranty coverage terms.  We have attempted to contact Ms. [redacted] by phone and hope to hear from her soon to see if we can bring this issue to resolution.

This is in response to the complaint reported to the Revdex.com by [redacted] [redacted] (Warranty Holder, [redacted]), received by PermaPlate on September 21, 2016.  The PermaPlate Appearance Protection Package was purchased by Mr. [redacted] with his 2017 Subaru Outback on July 23, 2016 and...

includes Paintguard™, Leatherguard™, and Fiberguard™ which are applied to specific surfaces of the vehicle to provide protection against certain listed common environmental hazards.  On 9/13/16 the customer filed a claim for a scrape to the front quarter panel sustained by rubbing against a gate.  The customer included a photograph of the scrape on the paint for review along with the claim form submitted to PermaPlate. PermaPlate Paintguard is a paint sealant which is applied to the painted exterior surfaces of the vehicle and is designed to protect against environmental damages such as fading, oxidation, loss of gloss and permanent staining from insects, tree sap, bird droppings, acid rain, and hard water spotting. It is important to note that impact-related damage such as chips, scratches, dings, dents, and scrapes are not covered by the Paintguard warranty, and therefore, the claim was denied.  We regret the frustration experienced by Mr. [redacted], but we are unable to assist with this particular issue.  The customer does have an active warranty in place and we are happy to assist if any future issues arise that are covered under the terms of the warranty.

This is in response to the complaint reported to the Revdex.com by Ms. [redacted], received by PermaPlate on 9/8/2017. The PermaPlate Appearance Protection Program was purchased by Ms. [redacted] and a claim was filed with our company in August of this year. After conducting a second...

third-party inspection of the vehicle, we have approved repainting of the covered portions of the exterior of the vehicle. We have discussed this matter with the customer, and are in the process of obtaining an estimate for further consideration. We regret any misunderstanding experienced by Ms. [redacted], however we feel confident that we have reached an acceptable resolution with the customer.

In response to
the complaint reported to the Revdex.com by [redacted], received by
PermaPlate on 4/5/2016 - PermaPlate Rustguard™ was purchased and applied to Ms.
[redacted]’s 2009 Ford Escape on 7/31/2009 and a 5 year product warranty #[redacted]
was issued.  Rustguard™ is a petroleum...

based product which is atomized
under pressure and applied within the double walled inner body cavities of the
vehicle. The Rustguard preserves and protects against inner body rust-through
by permanently sealing the bare metal inner surfaces of fenders, doors, quarter
panels and hollow body cavities. Trapped moisture from weather and condensation
can collect in these areas causing rust-through from the inside out if left
unprotected. Siskin guarantees against rust starting from the inside (where the
product is applied) to the outside of the vehicle.
Ms. [redacted]
filed a claim on 3/31/16 for rust on the passenger rear fender.  The claim was processed and a third party
inspector was dispatched to inspect the vehicle and provide photographs of the
damage.  Upon review of the inspection
report and photos, it was determined that the rust originated on the crimped seam
of the fender which is single-walled and angles back at 90 degrees toward the
wheel.  The rust originates on the outside
surface of the bare metal where paint had been removed due to rocks or other road
debris being flipped up by the tire.
Because this is an area where product cannot be applied, and because the
damage originates on the bare metal surface facing outward, this was not
determined to be a failure of the product and the claim was denied.  Upon further review of this claim and
subsequent complaint, we also found that the customer’s 5 year Rustguard
Warranty purchased on 7/31/2009 had expired on 7/31/2014.  An error was made on our part at the outset
in processing this claim as the vehicle no longer has active product warranty
coverage with PermaPlate.
We regret this
oversight, and any misunderstanding or frustration experienced by Ms. [redacted] as
a result of this claim.  Unfortunately,
we are unable to further assist with this issue.

This is in response to the complaint reported to the Revdex.com by Ms. [redacted], received by PermaPlate on 5/08/2017. Upon receipt of Ms. [redacted] concern, we reached out to her selling dealership to offer assistance in obtaining a reimbursement for the warranty purchased. At this...

time, the customer is working with the selling dealership to reach a satisfactory resolution. Upon speaking with the customer today, we believe the issue has been resolved. We have asked the customer to contact us if there are any further concerns regarding this complaint.

This is in response to the Revdex.com complaint filed by [redacted] regarding claim [redacted] for paint damage to the front bumper of her 2014 Honda Accord which was purchased along with the PermaPlate Appearance Protection package on 7/11/14.  The claim was initially denied based on photographs...

included with the claim which showed damage that appeared to be more consistent with impact-related damage caused by road-propelled debris such as rocks, which is not covered under the warranty.  This claim was re-opened and reviewed again and has since been overturned.  PermaPlate has authorized a repaint of the front bumper of the vehicle with a local collision repair center.  The repair facility will be contacting the customer to schedule the work.  We regret any frustration experienced by Ms. [redacted].  We believe that this is a satisfactory resolution to this issue.

This is in response to the complaint reported to the RevDex.com by Mr. [redacted], received by PermaPlate on 1/4/2016.  The PermaPlate Appearance Protection Package
was purchased by Mr. ** with his vehicle on 9/1/12 and includes Paintguard™,
Leatherguard™, and Fiberguard™ which...

are protection products applied to
specific surfaces of the vehicle to provide protection against certain listed
common environmental hazards including permanent staining.
It is important to note that the PermaPlate Appearance
Protection Warranty protects the covered interior surfaces from permanent
staining that cannot be removed through the customer’s own efforts to detail
the vehicle.  The warranty does not
provide general detailing services.  Mr.
** filed a claim in December which, based on previous claims, and information
provided in the latest claim form, was deemed to be a request for general
cleaning/detailing service and was subsequently denied.
PermaPlate is concerned about customer satisfaction and we
regret any misunderstanding or dissatisfaction experienced by Mr. **.  As a result, we have contacted Mr. ** and we
have mutually agreed to an acceptable compromise.  We believe that this issue has now been
resolved.
