To whom it may concern.PermaSeal prides itself with always top quality work for a reasonable price and also to maintain goodwill with all customers.  We contacted [redacted] and informed him that the installation dept will contact him and set up a time for his service.  We have...

given the info to our top mechanic who will contact him personally in fact the same installer that did his perfect installation.  Typically with casement windows the customer sometimes does not crank in the window all the way and then tries to lock it.  This will cause the window to go out of square and then will have to be readjusted. Thank you for your communication. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.Sincerely,Bob H[redacted]

Dear Sir/MadameWe always try to maintain goodwill with all customers and try to satisfy everyone.  We have been on this job and worked extremely hard to please [redacted]. We always do quality work. As a matter of fact we did a lot of work over for [redacted].  He told us to take our time he...

is not in any hurry at all.  The house looks great.  We asked him what he wanted changed and we did it. He makes changes every week. The last we spoke to him everything was fine accept 3 windows needed to be capped on the side.  We told him we would come out tomorrow to finish and he started to say now everything  wrong with the job.  Were installing siding and have been for 37 years.  He even said use any material he has in his shed if we need it. He said we can use his ladder. After we did he complained that we used his stuff. There was extra material left over to fix his siding around his side windows but he either used it for his shed or threw it out.  Nevertheless, we said we will do anything he needed to try and satisfy him.  His house looks great. Our home improvement specialist Brian E[redacted] will verify this. Another contractor will also verify this.  Our siding material was on a small part of his lawn and when he called us to clean it up because he was getting his lawn cut we came that day. His wife said don't worry about it Brian took care of it. As of today he said a corner wasn't right and the side looks wavy.  The side is a 50' run and the Home improvement specialist told him it may look a little wavy but it looks fantastic! We did a beautiful job and there are a couple things to finish.  We had Tuesday scheduled but it rained like it has an abundance amount this month. We also had truck problems. Nevertheless, the job was scheduled for Approximately 6 weeks and its only 8 weeks.  That is rain days truck issues and redoing a lot of things he wasn't happy about. Were not making excuses and apologize for any inconvenience.  We are insured in case of a catastrophe if a house burns down or something like that a major flood.  There are his perceived issues that is easily rectified. also, there is still a balance still owed on this job and we would like to get paid for. we have spent a lot of money on material and labor to date.Last but not least, we are willing to rectify any legitimate issue and concern [redacted] has. Have him contact us and we can set up an appointment to resolve all legitimate issues and concerns.Sincerely, PermaSeal [redacted]

[redacted]Hello im just writing to inform you that the dispute between me and Perma Seal Doors has been resolved.  After speaking with  Revdex.com on Monday afternoon Lane the owner sent someone to my parents house unannounced but they were able to repair the door. I am satisfied with the repair of the door however I am unsatisfied with the way the owners Mike & Lane conduct business. They run a very unprofessional establishment and I will never recommend them to anyone or ever do business with them again.Thank you Revdex.com for helping me settling this matter after a year long battle with this company trying to get the door repaired.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I really gotta hand it to you Bob.  The hits just keep on coming.  I’m awestruck.  Let’s recap.
First it was installation promises Permaseal had no intention or ability to keep.
Then it was scheduling the install without any communication.
And all that I would have written off as an over-eager salesman over-promising but then there was a problem with the windows...
Hey, problems happen.  That’s why we have warranties, but...
Then it was lies about scheduling warranty service.
Then it was completely ignoring multiple follow up calls inquiring about said warranty service 2 weeks later.  And a week after that.
Permaseal had created a situation where no reasonable person would believe that the warranty was worth anything.
Then the Revdex.com got involved and finally 6 weeks later Permaseal responds.  Specifically, Permaseal lied to the Revdex.com, saying they contacted me.
Then with no phone calls or contact from management whatsoever, Permaseal sent a worker to my house completely unannounced, who had no knowledge of what Permaseal had been asked to do to make it right…  And when he tried he couldn’t raise any of the managers on the phone either.
Now Permaseal tells me the warranty their owner advertised as a full lifetime transferrable warranty is actually only 1 year on labor.
And on top of that, Permaseal, having entirely created this horrible situation, where any reasonable business would just want to make the situation go away, and with a short list of things in hand that would do so, Permaseal proposes I pay them to:
Certify their work in writing
Something that could have done in a few minutes while their unannounced employee was here.
Provide a copy of their warranty
Because according to Bob they’d have to type that up! I have trouble wrapping my head around this one.  You don’t have a copy of your own warranty typed up already?
Provide spec sheets from the manufacturer... “if possible.”
Because in an age of stringent building codes and energy certification standards, Permaseal believes such things are uncommon.  [redacted].
I tried to find them myself, but there’s no identifying label anywhere on the windows that is accessible, So I don’t know the manufacturer or model numbers.  Does the lack of a label seem as insane to you as it does to me?  The energy specifications for the install are right there in the original contract, and I’ve never seen an energy efficiency standard without labeling requirements…  I’m sure the spec sheet would clear this right up.
I tried to find the model number/manufacturer on the original contract too.  There’s something there that looks like a model number,  but I’m afraid the handwriting is a bit illegible there.
How long would it have taken for Permaseal make their actions right?  Far less time than they’ve spent arguing this Revdex.com complaint.  That’s for sure.
And through all that, Permaseal has refused to acknowledge that any of these things they did ever happened, and instead they’re calling me the unreasonable one.
I am truly in awe.
As long as were talking about stuff you’d think would be on on the contract, could you help me with my recordkeeping?  Would you confirm Permaseal’s HIC# is [redacted]?  I found that by searching online with their phone number on the contract, but it doesn’t appear anywhere on the contract or any of the other paperwork that I was given during the course of the install.
Regards,
[redacted]

We informed [redacted] his $100.00 deposit will be mailed out to him. The labor day weekend vacation postponed his refund. Also, the end of the summer the bookeeper takes a week vacation. Nevertheless. it is less than a week and a half. we have expedited a prompt refund of his $100.00 today....

Sincerely,Bob H[redacted], mg

Dear sir/madam,PermaSeal strives to satisfy every customer. Customer goodwill is our main goal along with quality products and installation for the lowest price possible. There is a one year warranty on labor.  The homeowner was reluctant to pay for the labor.  We did go out and look at...

the situation.  Squirrels or some animals damaged the siding.  Nevertheless, we did schedule an approximate installation with the homeowner and did not say we would definitely be there.  We have the home owner on the service schedule.  Also the dates he referred to was inclement weather and raining off and in.  We informed him we would call before we come as he wanted.  Please have the customer call us to reschedule or if he has any other questions.Thank you so much for your time and concern,  Bob H[redacted]

Review: Windows installed 12/10/10. Contract signed on 10/08/2010 at which time I was told that the windows were guaranteed for life. I noticed a crack in the window installed in my shed kitchen at the end of the winter/early spring 2013. I contacted Permaseal and was told that while the windows were guaranteed the workmanship guarantee had expired and I would be required to pay a $95 service charge. I was annoyed that I would be assessed a service charge since it is clearly a manufacturing defect since no object had hit the window. I told him that I would get back to him. I called several times in October and was unable to speak to anyone until I threatened to contact the Revdex.com and the Pennsylvania Consumer Affairs. I spoke with a representative on 10/17/2013 who stated his name was [redacted] who I believe, from the sound of his voice ,may be the installer. He informed me that a service fee of $249 would be due. I advised him that I need to schedule the service for a Thursday and that I wanted the company to fax me the exact service fee since there is a big difference between $ 95 and $249 and expressed that I should not be charged anything since it is obviously a manufacturing defect. He told me that I did not have to have it fixed at which time I told him that I expected Permaseal to replace since they had sold me a defective product. I have windows that are more than 20 years old that have never cracked and the window they replaced were the original windows from the house which is at least 90 years old and they were not cracked. At the end of the phone call, I was informed that they would be at my home on 10/24/2013. I never received a fax regarding the service fee and no one came to my home and I stayed home the whole day.Desired Settlement: I want the Company to honor its product guarantee and replace the defective window panel. I have taken pictures of the window and the screen is perfectly intact which proves that nothing hit the window and the nature of the crack is indicative of a manufacturing defect. I expect to incur little or no cost. Given the fact that the lower window pane cracked I want a written guarantee on the top window pane as well since they were manufactured at the same time.

Response:

To whom it may concern,

The manufacturer of the window where she had a warranty from went out of business. Which was [redacted] vinyl windows.

Nevertheless, we informed [redacted]. [redacted] we would repair the sash and there would be no cost for the sash repair or any material needed for installation. There will be a charge for the labor involved. There is a charge for labor which is the usual standard in the industry. $95.00 will be the charge for us to remove the sash and deliver it to another window manufacturer. Go back to the manufacturer and pick up the new repaired sash and then deliver the sash and install it. She was a little hesitant in the process. We were not sure if she wanted to go through with the process and the payment. Also, her window will be without a sash for a good part of the day.

If [redacted]. [redacted] wants to go through with the process have her call us and we will schedule her for an installation.

Thank you for your time and help in this matter.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I have never had any contact with or knowledge of the manufacturer. My contract was with Permaseal. The only hesitation on my part occurred because of the discrepancy in the labor cost and I asked them to clarify and fax the information to me prior to their supposed service call. The so called labor charge is essentially having me pay for the window payne replacement, how does that constitute a guarantee of the product Permaseal sold me?

Review: In the first part of April of this year [redacted] of Permaseal Windows and Doors gave me and estimate for work to be done and the payment schedule to be followed. My 87 year old mother sent **. [redacted] a check for $950 to cover the initial cost of door. After **. [redacted] received and cashed the said check from my mother, we never heard from him again. Countless attempts have been made on my part to contact **. [redacted] on my mothers behalf, but there has been absolutely no returns of either a hpone call or thany remittance of the afore mentioned $950 that my 87 year old mother paid to **. [redacted] for services that were nevevr rendered.Desired Settlement: A refund check in the amount of $950 to my mother would both appease me and would smooth over the feeling that my 87 year old mother got burned by Permaseal
