Pioneer Research Corp. Reviews (29)

Review: I am the Supervisor of Building & Grounds Maintenance & Support in the Facilities Division with [redacted] Public Schools. I was contacted by a sales person with Pioneer Research about any products that may work for us. After listening to his sales pitch, I agreed to purchase some High Traction floor coating at an introductory price that I determined was a reasonable amount. The sales person stated that as part of the introductory offer, I had my choice of several free gifts to choose from, including a fishing, hunting or golf package. I told him that I am a golfer, but due to the fact that I work for a school district, I could not accept any gifts for making purchases. He stated that I would still receive the golf club at no cost. I was forwarded to the billing department to give them my information, and once again told them that I did not want the golf club. Before the product I purchased was used, a large project came up that we thought would be an ideal place to use the product, but what I had ordered was not enough to complete the project. The supervisor of the department responsible for the completion of the project ordered 6 more units of the material at $100 more per unit than the introductory price and he was told it would be enough to complete the installation. When the project began, the product purchased was not as described, the coverage was nowhere near what we were told and it did not meet our needs. Since that time, we have tried to return the unused portion of the second order that was placed for additional material. I have also been contacted by the sales person telling me that we still have 6 units at a cost of nearly $5000 that we are obligated to purchase. There was never any agreement to order any additional materials from this company. He said that the initial offer for the introductory pricing was only good if we agreed to purchase a total of 16 units of the material. He also stated that the golf club that he sent was also part of the deal. I have never received any golf club of any kind from this company, and if I had I would have returned it due our policy of no gifts for purchasing products. We have been contacted numerous times by several different sales people regarding this matter. One of them has told us that he will send the material and charge my credit card that was used on the initial order. I explained to him that we will not accept the order if he ships it to us and that we do not want any more of the product. As in the only feedback on Pioneer Research Corp. on your site, the phone calls and contacts from this company are becoming somewhat harassing in nature, they are blocking their number when calling, numerous individuals are making the calls and the explanation of their complaint is almost identical to the situation we find ourselves in with this company.Desired Settlement: We would like to receive a full refund of all unused/unopened materials that we have and to have myself and any employees of [redacted] Public Schools removed from any contact list that Pioneer Research Corp. maintains or uses.

Response:

Our Credit Department has called this person 3-4 times now leaving messages to resolve this. THEY DO NOT return phone calls. We talked with his assistant [redacted] who has been told (1) he ordered everything shipped by Pioneer; (2) we have proof of deliveries on everything shipped; and )3) we have verification records of all billing sent to them. There were 3 orders placed by USD [redacted] all verified, accepted and paid for. He states they called us and told us the coverage was no good. Not true! We were contacted by [redacted] who says they only received 4 of 6 kits. We traced and shipped 2 more kits that day. He states they tried to return unused material because of coverage. Not true! We did receive an e-mail also from [redacted] that says: "Because time constraints, we've had to cancel doing the, and it looks now the administration will not allow us in until the next school year. I would like to ask with what we have left that has not been used can we return them back for refund? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks [redacted]

Nothing else was shipped, there are no pending orders, we would never charge someone's credit card without their direction.

Please totally delete this complaint fro our file ASAP. We consider this closed.

Review: I was solicted at work and hard pressed to purchase product. Reluctantly I agreed to a trial purchased. A few months later I was called again and told it was time to reorder. Shocked I explained I didn't need any more since I am a homeowner. The sales person asked why a homeowner was buying and that this was generally for a business. When I explained I didnt need any he said the order was already processed for shipment and I had to purchase to fulfill an obligation. I asked if I paid AGAIN would this complete the obligation and was told yes. Today Im told another order is processed for shipment and once again I cant cancel it and once again I am obligated. I DON'T WANT ANYMORE. I never signed an agreement or even verbally agreed to purchase more. HELP HELP HELPDesired Settlement: I do not want shipment that they are sending. It gets delivered while I am at work. I do not need this this and I want whatever obligation they say I have to be complete.

Response:

There are no shipments open for [redacted]. We are researching, trying to find out if it was anyone within our company who talked with him. Their account is closed and no orders will be accepted from them unless a purchase order is received by Pioneer Research.

We trust this will satisfy Mr. [redacted] and thank him for his past business.

Review: I had previously purchased de-icer from Pioneer Research Corp. and it was ok. No complaints with that. Unfortunately my next experience with Pioneer Research Corp. was not good at all. They use really high pressure sales tactics and will not take no for an answer. He tried selling me 12 cases of wasp spray and I would receive a free golf club. I told him there was no way I could do that and was not interested. After a long conversation I agreed to buy one case of it to try. We used some of it and we still have some cans left. I signed the invoice to be paid and thought that was it. I was called a couple weeks later by Pioneer Research Corp asking me where I wanted my golf club delivered to and then how I wanted the next 11 cases shipped and billed. I tried telling the sales rep that there was no way that I could use all of that and did not want the 11 cases or the golf club. He told me of some sort of agreement that said I was on the hook for the other 11 cases and I had to take them. He then said he could split the order with another customer so I only had to take 5 cases. I said OK because he gave me no other option and would not take no for an answer.Desired Settlement: I would like to return the product and close the account.

Review: The phone salesmen agreed to reduce my order to 50 lbs of ice melt. I specifically asked if they would ship anymore they said no. A couple months I received a call saying they would ship the remaining 200 lbs of my order and bill me. After arguing he agreed to cancel the order and close my account. A week later a got a call from his supervisor saying he was closing the account and shipping me 50 lbs and would bill for that. After arguing again he insisted they had the right to ship it. I never received anything with the original order other then a bill. This Company is unethical and in no ways should have an A plus rating. I request they not ship or bill the remaining order and stop their unethical sales practices.Desired Settlement: Do not ship or bill any more product and stop unethical and lying sales practices.

Response:

Please be advised that the customer has been called, the account is closed and we are investigating.

Review: High pressure, fast talking sales techniques. Initial agreement with my Maintenance Supervisor and Pioneer Research Inc. had a High Traction Kit at an introductory price offer. The Maint. Supervisor agreed to try a kit. The kit arrived and was applied to the 23 sq. ft of surface where it was needed. One kit was more than enough for our needs. A few weeks pass and another kit arrives on-site without anyone ordering the material. Maint. employee calls Pioneer Research Inc. and requests to speak to someone about the arrival of the kit that we did not order. He was informed that they would take his contact information and get back to him. A few more weeks go by and Maint. employee again contacts Pioneer Research Inc. to ask about its status. He is informed that the salesperson he was originally dealing with has since retired. Maint. employee is than informed that Pioneer will not take the product back and that they will not refund. This same process has been happening over the past year. To date we have seen five kits come into our facility. We only ordered one kit and that kit is the one that I will be willing to pay for. As for the other four that are still sitting on a pallet I have spoken with [redacted] with Pioneer Research and requested that the other four kits be picked up for returns at Pioneers expense. [redacted] informed me that he will have to get back with me so I am seeing a trend. ceeding call says now minimum is 12 units with 8 more units coming. Cancelled order, succeeding call still solicits another minimum order with 4 more units delivered. Each time product is delivered, product is invoiced.Salesmen will not even let you talk or make comments, pressure you into purchase because of prior agreement that still has an outstanding minium.Desired Settlement: I would like to be able to send the product back to Pioneer Research at their expense and receive a full refund for the four kits that we did NOT order. There was not one single Purchase Order number for the final four kits. I would like this corporation to change its sales policies if they believe that these types of sales are acceptable. I would like this corporation to not call myself or anyone else at my facility ever again to propose a product that they sell. I would also like for the President of Pioneer Research Inc. Ms. [redacted], President to contact myself via phone or email to discuss exactly how I feel her sales staff has mishandled this entire relationship.

Response:

All orders were placed by [redacted]. All orders and billing were verified with [redacted]. Nothing was ever shipped or billed to RSA without his approval. RSA's price has been locked since their second order $699.00 per kit. We have all Verification Logs and Proof of Deliveries on all orders (except the first which is too old to trace):7/23/13 - 2x1 High Traction - 1 at no charge - payable on 1 invoice - paid on 9/10/1310/30/13 - 3x1 High Traction - payable on 3 invoices - paid on 12/3/13, 1/3/14, 2/4/1412/10/14 - 3x1 High Traction - payable on 3 invoices - paid on 5/7/14, 8/5/14, 11/1/1411/11/14 - 4x1 High Traction - payable on 4 invoices - paid first bill on 12/4/14; 3 bills remain open.If there are any questions to the validity of these orders, please call Pioneer Research for all backup. Again, all orders were placed by and verified with [redacted] not John Ritter. John Ritter called Pioneer to return 4 kits because his name was on the order. He was told his name was never attached to a single order, and if he wanted to return the unpaid 3 kits, we would accept and wipe out billing as long as prepaid into Pioneer. Please make sure this is wiped off our record.Thanking you in advance, [redacted]Credit Manager

The people working for this company have ZERO issues with yelling, cussing, threatening me. They call relentlessly beginning at 8am, call back hoping to get someone else to the phone. Now they have learned to block their number and ask for my boss and when I reply that he isn't in, they get hostile. Now they are harassing the City calling there for my boss who is in no way affiliated with them.

It would be one thing if they called about an open invoice but to have conned our company into a recurring purchase when all that was agreed upon was a trial for us to see if the product would meet our needs. Now, multiple shipments of an unusable product, wasted money, and continued harassment has got to stop. They wont provide us with any type of contract showing where we agreed to this, although they did agree to send us a 'catalog' to see if there was anything we could use. That was a year ago, still not catalog!

Review: I have been called repeatedly about a product we purchased almost a year ago, Blue Fire Ice Melt, and other sales calls. I thought the product was too expensive and told the company this, and have never ordered again. I have also told the company that I no longer wanted any sales calls, each time a representative would call. In addition, about a month ago, one such sales call was made by a woman, I believe her name was Rebecca S[redacted] who told me she was moving to [redacted] and that I would not receive sales calls anymore, and then at the end of the conversation she said, that she had another order of Blue Fire ready to be shipped. I told her I didn't order any blue fire and I would refuse delivery if it was shipped, which demonstrated that the company was lying, at the very least, because I kept receiving sales calls, but I also never ordered any additional blue fire. This is when I asked for the sales calls to stop. However, at this point they started calling my employees instead of me. It was after this that I again told them to stop calling. About two weeks ago, I called them, after I had been called several times, and I explicilty told them not to call, because I was tired of receiving phone calls. I reached the corporate office and spoke to a sales manager and told the sales manager not to contact the phone # they keep contacting, [redacted]. . I just received a call on 1/28/16, and I told the person again not to call and to take me off the list. Because, they have obviously ignored my requests and are exhibiting dishonest sales tactics, I am now filing a complaint with the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: I do not want [redacted] at phone #'s [redacted] or any variants that I have listed or any variants Pioneer Research has listed to ever be contacted again.

Response:

We have no open orders for this company and they are now on our no call list. Sorry for any inconvenience.

High Pressure sales calls. I was contacted by phone stating "I'd like to thank you for reviewing our products and we are sending you a free swiss army knife for looking at our products". When I told him that I never heard of their products, he said I must have seen them at a show or online. He continued to push their cleaning product Enviro Pro, and that he is sending me 10 gallons now. I informed him that I didn't want him to send me any product. He then hung up on me. I later found out that one of his associates had called another one of our employees and tried to send a different product.

Review: First we buy nothing here without a PO or a credit card. The salesman said that he was going to send a FREE (Don't fall for that ) sample and asked for an address to send it to. The buyer gave it to him and he also asked for a billing address that the buyer also gave him to supposedly set up our account. They sent us the sample along with 2 extra gallons of there product and have been requesting payment ever since without a PO or a card authorization. I do not care so much that they sent extra if we like it we keep it but we didn't even want it. Even though that is unethical, what they didn't do about the problem is what concerns me. A good business has salesmen that push but they also fix problems and take care of their customers. We requested an returns goods authorization they did not want to give me because it had supposedly been to long, now want us to eat the freight and 20% restocking fee on items that we did not order. Return the product that we did not order nor pay for and close our account do not contact us in the future.Desired Settlement: Do not ship or bill any more product and stop unethical and lying sales practices. Please stop contacting us and close our account.
