Review: I received a flyer in my mailbox regarding a special offer regarding Satellite TV. When I called about it, I was told there was no such pricing and the offer did not exist. After over six phone calls, I spoke with a supervisor named [redacted] who repeated this information. He was argumentative and condescending. I faxed him a copy of the flyer as requested and he never called back. Subsequent phone calls resulted in me being told "he was in a meeting". I finally spoke with him again last week and he didn't return my call as promised. This has taken almost 6 weeks! This bait and switch deal was offered to all my neighbors targeting elderly people in [redacted] and older community park. My next contact will be to some advocate who prevents the aging from being scammed.Desired Settlement: I want this service delivered as advertised

I do not show any calls from the phone # of [redacted]. Please let me know what phone # calls were placed from

Review: I was told that I had a $50 deposit and the first months service of $47 for a total of $ 98.27 due. Which I paid in full on August 6, 2015. On August 14, 2015, This company tried to charge me $49.99, and again tried to charge it on August 21st, 2015 again for $49.99 that was not authorized by me. When I contact this office on the 23rd, I was informed that it was for a set up fee. There was no mention from Day one that there was a set up fee of any kind. I feel they are doing a deceptive business practice as I never received anything in writing from this company as well.Desired Settlement: no further charges on my credit card with out written permission

Response:

I listened to the call between my salesperson and Miss [redacted]. Our salesperson did explain the $49.99 set-up to Miss [redacted]. Where there may be confusion is that after running her credit. Miss [redacted] did not pass the credit check and [redacted] required a $50 deposit. I apologize for any miscommunication and will refund her the $49.99 set-up fee as a measure of goodwill.Thank you![redacted]

I had called PES a few times regarding getting service. They called me earlier this week asking if I was still interested in getting service. I finally pulled the trigger and set up a schedule time for today, Saturday the 14th. I was given a block between 8 am and noon by [redacted]. Noon came and went so I talked to scheduling. They had the installer call me to find out where they were. The installer called me within 2 minutes saying they would be here a little after 1 pm. I said that was incorrect, that I was told between 8-12. So I called PES scheduling and was told they also showed a later block. I told they guy to pull up my call log, review the recorded call and he was see I asked for the early time, as I have stuff to do this afternoon. That was the entire reason for the early time. Am extremely unhappy they decided to switch times without my authorization. I now understand why there are more negative reviews than positive ones.. Now there is 1 more to add to the unsatisfactory side.

They are scam artists. The prices they quote are not the prices they bill. I received a quote online for Telephone, TV, and High speed internet, and when I received my bills they were almost double. They also expected me to do half the installation work myself, and I'm an 86 year old women.

Review: On 9/17/2014, I spoke to "[redacted]" , to install internet and satellite service hooked up for the following day., he told me I was to receive 50MG's for internet use and 140 channels , but I would have to pay 29.99$ up front for services to be connected the next day. He asked for my age, birthdate, soc.sec.#, credit card #,,,and when I asked why he needed all this when the flyer I had said "NO CREDIT CHECK", He replied that incase of theft of equip. they would charge my acct., He then told me that "[redacted]" would call me back in 30 mins to comform tomorrows time for hookup. I waited 4 hrs. and no one called back. So I called back and spoke with [redacted], and he said I was denied because of my past credit histories. and I would have to pay a 100$ deposit to if I wanted service. ..."BUT NOT ONCE DID HE MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT RUNNING A CREDIT CHECK". I called my bank to check my credit and score and it had taken a bad hit is what I was told and monies were taken out of my acct. WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. Once I tried to speak to a Supervisior , I was put on hold for a ridiculous amount of time and left several messages. I did get a call back 2 days later from a Mr. [redacted]. but when I tried to explain why to him why [redacted] had lied to me, he just didn't seem to take it serious.

I had to close my account at my bank, cancel my credit card, and open up a new acct with new credit card. a lot was promised to me about having services being connected , but all I was told was NOT what was on the flyer.Desired Settlement: To be responsible for all services that was promised and to comply at NO CHARGE !!! For all the lost time and wages I had to go through because of there negligence.

Response:

We do not have any advertising out that says "no credit check". Actually, [redacted] explained the reason why we needed the customer's social security number when he asked why he needed it. [redacted] said " because we're giving you a lot of equipment and we want to make sure we're giving it to the right person". He should have used clearer language perhaps to say that we have to perform a credit check. I'm confused about the customer saying he was charged $19.99 and would like a settlement of $69.99. We never charged Mr. [redacted] account anything because he did not qualify for the promotion.

I went on Planet Earth Satellite's website and filled out a form requesting information about their Internet service and within 5 minutes I received an email with the subject of - Order Information - Internet Services. I called them to verify that I hadn't ordered anything and a very rude person answered the phone and said if I didn't give my credit card or SS number then I didn't order anything and then he hung up. From this experience I would never do business with this company!

Review: after receiving a flyer in the local newspaper about planeat earth satellite appr. 2d week of march I inquired with the tucson Revdex.com about the rataing etc and was told it has an a+ rating and has been in business since 2005. after talking to the business manager [redacted] ....(?) asking him if I were to receive the same channels as wiwth my previos provider, [redacted] he assured me I would get the same channels, even though some withdifferent numbers. I then agreed to the installation, giving him themy credit card number as reuested. the flyer states free installatiion, free this and that-no mention of a one time 29.99 dollar service fee. to my surprises the installer came the next day, in a private little red truck, and only when he brought in the box did I realize I was actually getting[redacted]. nothing was entioned in the flyer. he was appr 2 hrs late-took appr2 hrs to install, and then handed my husband somesmall print paperwork to sign -which my hussband signed in good faith-and the mention of 29.99 was rather confusing, I was assuming it was the first month's payment in andvance. not until I received my discover card statement for that month did I realize that [redacted] also charged me for that month. also, when I called [redacted] to tell him that icould not find all the channels I was used to and that he had promised, he said that can be remedied in 5 minutes simply by addinganother signal. little did I know that thiswouldalso put me in the next higher price bracket of 29.99 tht idid not contract for. most of my phone calls have been unanswered and the people from [redacted] are unable to help me also, when [redacted] talks to me-or my daughter, he insists the charges are legitimate.Desired Settlement: I would like my $29.99 refunded and would also suggest that the installerhands the contract to be signed to the customer at the very beginning of the installation so a person has time to read it and figure out all the small print-or question it when necessary-as it was the installer was 2 hours late-finished by apr 6 pm and both my husband and I were tired and in need of being tended to, he is on oxygen24/7 and needs a special breathing treaatment at 6 pm so we were just anxious for the installear to leave.

Response:

I listened to all of the calls from Mrs [redacted] and our company. Mrs. [redacted] called from an advertisement in her local paper that advertised the Top 120 for $24.99. She talked to our salesperson named [redacted]. She explained that she had [redacted] in her home. [redacted] told her that it would cost $7 more for her 3rd TV, so she said that her son would put an antenna up for that TV and she would forego service from [redacted] on that particular television. [redacted] then went through the channels on the Top 120 and she said that sounded good. He never said "you would get all the same channels as you do now with [redacted]". After getting her approval on going ahead with the order, he got her credit information and explained the set-up fee of $29.99. [redacted] actually discounted this fee, as it is normally $49.99. The appointment was scheduled for between 12-5 pm (we give either an AM or PM slot for the appointment). I'm not aware if the installer showed up past this time-frame. Mrs. [redacted] called in a few days later and wanted TCM added to her account, which [redacted] did for her. This channel was never mentioned by her previously. I do not believe Mrs [redacted] should be credited back her set-up fee because everything was explained up-front to her.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

could not find a way to reply to the planet earth satellite business

reply so here is my ressponsse. At no time was I advised of the 29.99

setup fee by [redacted] when I first called in anwer to the flyer which I will

gladly send a copyof by regular mail as ido not have the capability or

knowledge to include it with this e-mail.-as for the 3d tv which we very

seldom use I had explained to [redacted] that my son had it rigged up with the

previous complany so that it ran off one of the other tvs and could the

same be done maybe in exchange for all the extras for 3 months like hbo,

starz etc they offered as we were not interessted and he agreed to that.

[redacted] pressently offers 50 dollars ea for new customers and for

referrals-so if [redacted] wil pay 100 dollars for new customers/connections

surely planet earth satelite was already reimbursed for "bringing" a new

customer. IF the setup fee was explained by the installer-which I do not

recall or remember-then itwould have been too late in any case for me

to refuse as my credit card numer had already been given to [redacted] at the

beginning and the installaation was complete.; I do recall calling [redacted]

and questioning the 29.99 AFTER the installer left and to the best of my

knowledge the answer was confusing at the time, but I honestly do not

remember the details.. I still believe it should be told up front when

the customer agrees to the installataion. thank you, [redacted]

ps: in short, planet earth satellite was deceptive about2

things:one:notsaying upfront that they represent [redacted] and b. not

mentioning the 29.99 installation fee up front-either way, I may have

opted to look into a [redacted] neetwork representative locally with local

installation and NO installation fee. it is my opinion that they do not

rate or deserve a a+ rataing in any case. sincesrely, [redacted]

Regards,

Response:

I did listen to the calls from the customer and [redacted] (the salesperson) did explain the set-up fee of $29.99. However, I will credit the customer's account this $29.99 to settle this dispute.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

I have received a total of 19 calls within the past two days from sales reps claiming to be from this company. When I remind them I am on the "Do not call" list, they typically hang up, only to have someone call again within the hour. Very inconvenient, I called and asked a rep to update their information and quit calling me, again only to have another call 90 minutes later.

After agreeing to sign up for [redacted] with Planet Earth, I find that the salesman [redacted] told me several lies.

It's too bad that salesmen working on commission can't be honest. Avoid these people & go directly to [redacted] or [redacted]!!!

The 3 times I contacted Planet Earth for service was spaced out over perhaps a year's time, or more -- I doubt any person receiving the message would have been at a funeral, as was the excuse given, for that length of time, so I don't really think they gave an accurate reason for why they didn't bother to respond or call back to acknowledge the reason I requested service.

I have this past week cancelled their service and gone back to having Dish Network do all our service when required. They are fast, efficient and were in and out of the house, all issues resolved, in less than an hour. I much prefer their business ethics. I don't care to extend this any further, just think others should know of our experience with Planet Earth as technician to call when needing help with TV service.
