Planet Honda has been in contact with [redacted] and our Finance Manager had already mailed her the cancellation forms as requested before this complaint posted about her purchase from a year ago.  I myself recently called to follow-up with [redacted] to see that she was able to return...

the forms for the cancellations and left her a voicemail to discuss the status.[redacted]Director of Customer ServicePlanet Honda[redacted]
[redacted]

We dropped the ball on this matter. We should have been more diligent in getting this handled for our customer.  We did not communicate with [redacted] as to what was going on like we should have. Once I was made aware of the issue I got [redacted] in touch with the right person at our dealership and...

she did her best in getting this resolved for [redacted] as she did not know what was going on until the afternoon that [redacted] came in. I apologize to [redacted] on behalf of our dealership for this issue and for our lack of communication.

Regarding this complaint we have contacted the Bank regarding her being able to refinance, we needed her permission to have them run her credit again.  We have spoke with her and she granted the permission.  The original credit buyer at the bank said no, however we have taken it up to...

higher management and are waiting for their response. The finance manager that was involved with Ms. [redacted] has since been terminated.  We are very sorry for how he treated her requests, as this is not how we conduct business.I will be in further contact when we hear from the bank.Sincerely,T[redacted]General ManagerPlanet Toyota, Planet Honda

Looks like all these reviews wrote by the employees of that terrible dealership. If you talk to real persons you actually can hear only bad things. This dealership has awful reputation among customers. I am one of them. They do not give you a true copy of contract, it's mean they can altered after you sign it without your acknowledgment. They give you a false, deceptive information. They do everything to make you sign the contract after that you're trapped. Contracts limits your rights to ZERO. Please be very careful DO NOT sign anything what they try to give you as soon as possible. Also they have a general rule to not give to people their belongings, like driving license, unsigned title for your traid-in car to make you come back again and again. After you sign the contract they will show their real faces. They can rise voice on you, insult you ect. You can visit them and see it youself. Anyway best of luck.
PS: They actually damage my new car BEFORE delivery. They has my deposit that I tried to get back but can't since I sign their contract. Now car is still ufixed and my sales person do not return my phone calls and messages. Other managers do not respond as well. And the GENERAL MANAGER IS ALWAYS ON MEETING. How is it possible?

Review: On 9/1/13 I leased a Honda Civic 4 36 mos. the manager said that in 18 mos I can come back and redo for a new lease on a new CRV at a cheaper price. Well 20 mos later on 7/17 I went back to Plant Honda to see if they will honor it. During my discussion with salesperson (Matt) I had to leave but I left a deposit of $1,000 on my credit card. I came back the next day on Saturday, he said they can't lower the price and that they will refund my deposit. On 8/8 weeks later I go back again to inquire about my return of my deposit that I have not received, the sales manager Joseph K[redacted] apologized that they process the refund on Monday and he will call me. Two weeks later again I have not received my refund and again he apologized that he was sick and that he will have them process it again. And that if by Tuesday I have not received my deposit that they will give it back in cash and they will detail my car. Now it's 9/5 I went there and told them I have not received my deposit and that he promised me the $1,000 back in cash. Well his Vice President was there and he said I wouldn't be getting the cash the office up stair is closed. I gave him my information again and that they will process my refund again. I do not understand why it is taking so long. These dealership are so desperate for sales that they discourage you from leaving and if you leave a deposit they can hold the price for you, probably knowing if you leave you will not come back.Desired Settlement: The return of my $1,000 deposit and for Plant Honda to honor their words. Right now when my lease is over next year I will return the Civic and never have a good word to say about them.

Good afternoon [redacted] I contacted the credit card processing company and was able to resolve the issue with the refund. Review: I leased my Vehicle on 9/3/2011. I had intended to actually finance a vehicle since I was turning in my old vehicle as a down payment. The sales person convinced me that their lease program was a better offer since it was a lower monthly payment then a finance and I could always trade the vehicle in at the end of the lease. When I arrived at the finance rep's [[redacted]] desk to sign off on the lease paperwork I was pitched a maintenance plan that would cover the maintenance of the vehicle for the life of the lease and that "All you would have to worry about is wipers and tires" at the end of the lease. So, I went with it. During my last oil change the service Department told me that I need to pay 383.80 for "required maintenance" (69.95 cabin air filter, 49.95 engine air filter, 15.00 inserts, 129.95 rear differential flush, 118.95 relearn tpms). Now the air filters, my husband can change, but the rear diff flush and the tpms reprogramming should be covered under the lease as told to me by the finance rep (who conveniently no longer works there). I've been complaining to the service department about the TPMS light for over a year now every time I take the car in for an oil change. its off when I leave the dealer then comes back on after a few hours or days. It's a faulty sensor that should be covered under the warranty of the vehicle, not charged to me. I called Honda about the rear differential flush and they advised me that it's a "suggested maintenance" not something required under my lease agreement as told to me by the service reps. I've spoken to several people before and they've had similar instances with this dealership over bait and switch sales tactics.Desired Settlement: I would like for the dealership to replace the faulty TPMS sensor since it should be a bumper to bumper warrantied item and cease from trying to charge me for unnecessary maintenance or have that maintenance covered as told to us by their finance rep [redacted] ( who no longer works there)

Review: I got a formal refund paper from Planet Hondat on [redacted] NJ 07083 on 3/29/2013. Below are the details for this refund:

R/O Open Date: 3/29/2013

R/O Number: [redacted]

Service Advisor: [redacted] Refund Amount: $14.00

They promised me to mail the refund check during 7-10 business days. But three months has passed and I still have not get the refund. I called them many times, and nobody can help me.Desired Settlement: I need them to refund the money to my credit card which they charged.

Review: Planet Honda hide the fact that the car I purchased was involved in a front end collision two months prior to my purchase. At the time of purchase, I asked the sales representative if the car was ever involved in an accident as I would not have bought it otherwise and the response was " never". Because of this fact, I lost considerable amount of money when I re-sold the car as the CARFAX showed the accident in question.Desired Settlement: $4500

Response:

The following letter was sent to the customer last week:Dear [redacted] On or about October 28th, 2014, we responded to allegations that you made regarding the condition of a 2009 Honda Accord you purchased at this dealership. As a reminder I have taken the liberty of attaching a copy of the letter hereto. Recently you filed a complaint with the Revdex.com stating the following: “Planet Honda hid the fact that the car I purchased was involved in a front end collision two months prior to my purchase. At the time of purchase, I asked the sales representative if the car was ever involved in an accident as I would not have bought it otherwise and the response was " never". Because of this fact, I lost considerable amount of money when I re-sold the car as the CARFAX showed the accident in question.” As you are aware, the vehicle had a clear CarFax at the time you purchased the vehicle. Subsequent to your purchase, CarFax indicated the vehicle had been in an accident. After further research, CarFax amended the report to indicate that the vehicle was in fact not in an accident but that the windshield had been damaged. CarFax relied on a public record (police report) to update its file. There is no basis in fact for the allegations you have made. Please be advised that if you continue to make spurious and unsupported allegations we will have no choice but to seek legal redress. Planet Honda will take all necessary steps to guard its reputation. Please guide yourself accordingly. Sincerely, [redacted]President

Review: 1. The order form includes a Safe and Secure Pkg as "optional" for $369 which I didn't want, but was told that I had to include it. The item was part of the printed order, not as other items which were typed onto the form. It wasn't "optional" at all, I felt I was forced to buy that, and in the end I had to sign the document as I "elected" that.

2. After the car's price was negotiated, the sales manager told me that I had to pay $154 for the title and registration, otherwise I couldn't drive the car out of their door, even though I wanted to register the car myself. So I added that amount to the total purchase price and paid. Now I review the order, only $69.50 was listed under registration and title fee. The rest of that $154 went to somewhere else. I feel that was deceptive.

3. I did not know that one year's maintenance was included in the price, because I would not want that. I felt I was forced to have it. The $449 documentation fee was higher than the $375 which other NJ dealers charged, as another dealer told me. I felt that things were added to inflate the price.

4. The information about the form of payment was inconsistent and caused inconvenience and hours of wasted time. I was told by the sale representative that my personal check was acceptable, I even called to confirm before going there to pay. However, when I was there to pick up the car, I was told that they required a cashier's check which I had to get in the end. The whole process was very frustrating.Desired Settlement: I want to know where the rest of the $154 went; I do not want to pay for the one year maintenance; I do not want the Safe and Secure package and would ask for a refund for that, minus the window etching since that was done already.

Thank you

Review: ON OCTOBER 24, 2013 I ENTERED PLANET HONDA IN UNION NJ AND GOT INTO A CAR LEASE OF A 2013 HONDA CIVIC. [redacted] WAS MY SALES REPRESENTATIVE WHO ASSISTED ME IN MY LEASE PROCESS. THE MSRP OF THE VEHICLE WAS $21,605.00. AFTER SERVICES, FEES, TAXES, REBATES AND MY CONTRIBUTION TO PUT DOWN ON THE VEHICLE OF $2,201.05, THE FINAL LEASE VALUE WAS $26,880.02.

SEPTEMBER 21, 2014 I DECIDED TO LOOK INTO BUYING OUT MY LEASE WITH A FRIEND WHO IS A FINANCE MANAGER FOR A CAR DEALERSHIP. IN REVIEWING MY LEASE CONTRACT, HE FOUND DISCREPENCIES IN THE NUMBERS AMOUNTING TO THE FINAL LEASE VALUE. THERE IS ROUGHLY $3,900 THAT IS UNACCOUNTED FOR. PLANET HONDA HAS TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF ME. THIS IS NOT RIGHT AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. MY FRIEND ADVISED ME TO CONTACT HONDA TO ASK [redacted] HOW HE WENT FROM MSRP OF $21,605 TO FINAL LEASE VALUE OF $26,880.02.

SEPTEMBER 22, 2014, MY FRIEND DECIDED TO CALL PLANET HONDA ON MY BEHALF. HE WAS TOLD BY HONDA THAT HE SHOULD SPEAK TO THE FINANCE REPRESENTATIVE WHO HANDLED MY LEASE. IN THAT DAY, WE ATTEMPTED TO REACH [redacted] IN FINANCE SEVERAL TIMES, LEAVING A VOICEMAIL TO RETURN OUR CALL. THREE DAYS LATER, [redacted] CALLED ME BACK ONLY TO TELL ME I HAVE TO SPEAK TO [redacted] IN REGARDS TO MY CONTRACT. HE TRANSFERRED ME RIGHT AWAY- WHERE [redacted] ANSWERED BUT TOLD ME TO CALL HIM BACK LATER THAT EVENING. I CALLED AND NO ANSWER. I LEFT A VOICEMAIL TO RETURN MY CALL. AFTER SEVERAL CALLS FROM ME ON SEPTEMBER 26, OCTOBER 1, 2, & 8 TO [redacted] AND [redacted], I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A RETURNED PHONE CALL.

IN ADDITION, I WANTED TO CANCEL MY SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE PLANS. UPON SPEAKING TO [redacted] IN FINANCE, HE TOLD ME ON OCTOBER 8, 2014 THAT HE WILL MAIL OUT THE FORMS TO ME TO FILL OUT AND RETURN BACK. I HAVE YET TO RECEIVED ANY PAPERWORK REGARDING CANCELING SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE PLANS AMOUNTING TO $700.

PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE AN OPEN CASE WITH NEW JERSEY'S DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS IN REGARDS TO THIS MATTER.Desired Settlement: IN MY ESTIMATION, THIS FAIR RESOLUTION BE THAT I AM REIMBURSED THE AMOUNT OF MONEY IN DISCREPANCY THAT I WAS OVERCHARGED BEYOND WHAT WAS AGREED AT SIGNING OF LEASE CONTRACT, FURTHERMORE I RECEIVE THE NECESSARY PAPERWORK TO RECEIVE MY REIMBURSEMENT OF THE SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE PLANS AMOUNTING TO $700.

ROUGH GRAND TOTAL: $4,600.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I am rejecting this response because: I tried to contact [redacted] both at her cell and at her employer number and no response. I finally received the cancelation paperwork just this week. The paperwork is unclear and no instructions were given. Out of the 4 pieces of paperwork, there are 3 that are exactly the same piece of paper stating only 1 of the service plans to be cancelled. I'm canceling 4 separate service plans. Again I reached out to [redacted] to better understand the steps needed to properly cancel these service plans. Also, on the physical contract, it states that I do not need to go through the dealership to cancel on my own. If I go through the dealership it will take 90 days to complete. That is a very long time. If I do it on my own it won't take that long. Also, I have no heard from anyone in regards to my lease contract in which I'm missing almost $5,000 overcharged on my vehicle that was not calculated for. That money needs to be accounted for and my payments be adjusted or to refund that illegal charge of my vehicle. I would like a response at soon as possible. Thank you.

Review: Gave PH 7000.00 toward purchase of vehicle on 5/14/14. Took the car back on 5/19/14 to sign paperwork and get tire changed. When presented with a deal of 26.2% interest I refused to sign. Was told they would find another deal for me and use my current vehicle for a trade which they refused to take initially. When I inquired abt changing the tire they refused to change it stating they would not do so until I signed the deal. I took keys off the ring and left vehicle. Called [redacted] the sales person and told him no deal. I also have text messages between him and myself as well as text messages sent to another salesman stating I did not want the car and requesting my 7000 back. When I returned to the dealer on 5/21/14 for my refund they still tried to sell me the car offering me to trade my car in and I refused. I walked out and the manager [redacted] followed and STILL offered me the deal I would not even listen to. I requested a refund of my 7000 again and he said they cut checks on Monday. I waited until today 5/27/14 to call and was told by [redacted] that he was taking my paperwork upstairs and would call me in an hour. Never heard from him mad have made repeated calls to the dealership all day with mo response. They have their car I want my deposit back.Desired Settlement: I want my full deposit of $7000.00 credited back to my debit card ASAP

Review: On December 16th, 2013 I walked into Planet Honda Used Car dealer off [redacted], New Jersey. I was assisted by a car salesman known as "** #2" who was very helpful and professional, ultimately he sold me a used 2010 Honda Civic DX VP (4 door sedan with 32419 miles) after I placed a $1000 down payment on the car via my Visa debit card. At the time of filling out the paperwork I could not provide car insurance as I did not have any and also my 2 recent paystubs so I was given temporary insurance until I could find my own. Unfortunately I couldn't find any reasonable car insurance so I returned the car on December 21st, 2013. When I returned the car I was assisted by both salesman "** #2" and the used car sales manager [redacted] who told me that I would receive my refund for my down payment via a deposit back onto my Visa debit card. It is now January 13th, 2013 and I have contacted planet Honda twice with regards of my refund and have received no answer.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my $1000 down payment that was supposed to have given back to me after I returned the car.

Review: in april of 2014, I purchased an [redacted] from there "used car" department at Planet Honda on route 22 in Union NJ. long story short, within two weeks I was to returning to the dealer about 3 times for them the put oil into the car. After having the car for about 2 1/2 weeks the car broke down on me as I was heading to work. I towed the car back to the dealership, explain to the salesmen ([redacted]) what happened he told his supervisor, they said they had to look at the car to determine the cause. I was offered a loaner car but when I went to get it, they did not have any available. I was then told to go and rent a car from enterprise and the dealership will reimburse me for the rental and for me having to tow the car back to the dealership. 3 weeks later I receive car back after they put a new engine in. in total for the rental and tow they owed me about $900 ,I have talking back and fourth with the salesmen and his supervise over and over with no answers and no money. It is now January 1st that I am writing this and I still have not received my reimbursement ..Desired Settlement: check

Review: I trad** in my 2012 honda accord vehicle on August 4th 2014. I was told by my sells representative [redacted] that planet honda was going to be responsible to pay the remaining payments due on my 2012 honda at the time. I sign** the contract with 11 payment because that is the amount of payment he had said was ow** on August 4th. A month later I receive a phone call from honda financial claiming there was a balance due of $417.00 that I had to pay. So I contact [redacted] and he automatically did not want no part of it. So he pass** the problem to his manager [redacted] and he claim** that I should just pay for amount until problem was solve and that he would have his boss name [redacted] call me about how to resolve the problem it's been weeks and I have not receiv** a phone call from their boss **. I have left numerous massages to ** and I have not received any phone call back. I also have had the regional office contact ** at planet honda to contact me and still have not received any attempt or phone call from planet honda to fix the mistake they have made.Desired Settlement: For ** the boss from planet honda return my call so we can solve my problem ASAP

Review: I leased a new Honda FIT EV (Plug-In Electric) from Honda Corporate that is available in a very limited market region. Planet Honda is the only dealer near me that Honda is using for the technical trial for the Fit EV. I really had no choice but to use this dealer, or go to a dealer in New York or Paramus NJ. I signed the lease agreement provided by Honda to the dealer in March. In early June I received notification from Honda that they have reduced the monthly lease rate for the car for new leases AND EXISTING LEASES beginning with the June 2013 payment. Good News. Since I prepaid the NJ sales tax for the entire 36 month lease in advance (at the higher monthly rate), I am now due a refund of the excess sales tax paid because the last 36 months lease payment are reduced by $130/month. The excess tax that should be refunded to me equals [redacted] I contacted Bill Feinstein, the general manager about this, and he said "We do not refund the difference as it was paid to the state - you need to apply via your accountant." First of all, I don't have an accountant, nor do I have a relationship with the State of New Jersey sales tax department for collecting or refunding taxes. This dealer would not even work with me to help resolve the problem. In a normal retail environment, I I were to return an item, or even get a partial refund for some reason (price match etc.) the retailer would refund the sales tax on the refunded amount.Desired Settlement: Refund the excess sales tax paid

Business

Response:

Response that was sent to customer.

You agreed to purchase a FitEV under a specialprogram from Honda at $359 per month. Honda unilaterally reduced this lease payment to $249 across the country and actually rewrote your contract (approximately 60 days after delivery) to lower your payment.

Unfortunately, we forwarded the correct tax amount to the State of New Jersey as required by law. Planet Honda had no part in lowering your payment or

the revision of your contract - this is between you and Honda. We have no mechanism to refund you any tax overpayment as this was sent DIRECTLY to the

State of New Jersey. We suggested you contact an accountant or the State directly - we have NO ability to issue a tax refund as we are not the

State.

Planet Honda is not stopping you in any way from collecting any overpayment. But what you are looking for us to do (short someone else's

payment to the State as your email to me) is FRAUD and is something we areunwilling to do. You may in fact be entitled to refund but it is not from

Planet Honda, it is from the State of New Jersey. We made no profit on your State sales tax and do not retain any of those monies.

I understand your frustration as dealing with taxing authorities and state governments can be exhausting. However, please remember that you received a gift from

Honda - a reduction in your payment by $100 per month. Any tax overage is also found money and while you may be entitled to it, you may actually have to

make an effort to claim it.

Review: 9602144

I am rejecting this response because: Although I leased the car from Honda Corporate, the Planet Honda dealership was the agent acting on behalf of Honda. All of the paperwork (lease etc) was handled by planet honda. It was palnet honda's salesman who signed the lease on behalf of Honda Corporate. They are the entity that collected the sales tax on the lease and have the relationship with the state taxing department.Planet Honda sent the sales tax money to the State, I didn't pay the State directly.

I feel it is their responsibility to send amended sales tax information to the State and refund the overpayment to me.

This business is only interested in making money on sales and leases of cars, and not taking care of their customers.

Review: I wasn't sure how to characterize the issue above, but when I purchased my Honda from Planet Honda in December of 2012, I specifically told the sales person that I did not wish to provide my email address because I did not want any emails from the company. He told met that the sale would not go through the computer if I did not do so. I provided my email address and have been receiving unwanted emails since. The most recent was June 21, 2014, which stated at the bottom that if I wanted to unsubscribe, I had to mail a letter to the physical address to make my request. It seems as if they put my email address on a number of "lists" so that when you unsubscribe from one, you get additional emails from others.Desired Settlement: I want acknowledgment from the dealership that they agree to remove me from every list. Furthermore, all customers should be allowed to decline to provide an email address if they wish to do so.

Review: I bought a car and put $5000 for down payment. They told me that I could finance the rest of the money for the car. They called me like two weeks later and told me that they couldn't get me financing and that I needed a cosigner. I told them that that's not what I agreed to before and that I didn't have anyone who could cosign for me. So they asked me to bring the car back. I brought the car back expecting to get my down deposit back. First they tried to sell me a different car that I didn't want so that they didn't have to give me my money back. Then, when I told them that I didn't want the other car that they were trying to sell me, they said that I never gave them $5000 for the down deposit. They completely stole my money. Now I have no car and no $5000.Desired Settlement: I just want my deposit back. 100% of it.

Review: On 9/3/15, my husband and I walked into Planet Honda in regards to purchase a brand new 2016 Honda Pilot. We sat down with a sales associate spoke some numbers and I even stressed how I WASN'T interested in the dealers package. We were also quoted a price for Chrome Running Boards that was $1518.81, which I paid for in full that same day. 9/10/15 my husband, babies, and I went to get the car. Upon arriving we were told to have a seat and wait for the finance department, everything was moving along until we came across GAP insurance packages. I had NO interest what so ever wanting to spend more money and I told him to continue to the next portion of the paper work. I felt like a hostage at that point because he REFUSED to move on with the process until we agreed to it. Finally we were able to leave. When we arrived home we had noticed they added the dealers package to our car which in turn means we were charged for a service we STRESSED we didn't want. We were advised to call in 9/14/15 to get our Chrome Running Boards installed. Upon calling that Monday I was told they were back ordered. This back ordered business went on for over a month. On 10/26/15 I took it upon myself to call the parts department to see if they had them available. I was told they were in stock and that the price with installation would be $1125.00. Why was I over charged on 9/3/15? I asked the front desk for the guy who sold me my car, they said he no longer works there. I left a message with the general manager who hasn't return my call. I am greatly disappointed in the lack of respect and response I have gotten from this dealership. If they don't want to stand behind their business, man up to their mistakes, and honor them like they should then they will be hearing from my lawyer. I don't even know how they are still in business.Desired Settlement: I would be grateful for my chrome running boards installed on my car like I was promised, but I would like the difference via check since I paid my card off already. Also I'd like to be refunded for the dealers package I didn't want. I also feel it's fair to be reimbursed for that I would be paying for gap insurance a month until my loan is up since I was held hostage with my husband and little babies until we agreed to it. Thank you.

Review: I purchased a car from Planet Honda before moving to Florida. I had a faulty tire. It had a slow leak and eventually went flat within days. When I tried to get a replacement they said it would only be able to be repaired. I was driving to Florida alone within the next few days with the car and explained to them that I would rather have a new tire. I paid over $31,000 for the car, purchased tire protection and had leased 2 other Hondas in the past from Planet Honda, making me a very loyal customer. They still refused to give me a new tire. By the next day after a plug was put in my tire the tire gage came on again. I was closing on my home that day and didn't have time to go back to Honda so I brought my car to my local mechanic and he got me a new tire. They showed me where the leak was on the tire and it was in the same place Road Side Assistance (they put the donut on my car when my tire went flat) showed me. Honda PLUGGED IT IN THE WRONG PLACE! I asked for a reimbursement on the tire and totally got the run around. I have written a bad review on [redacted] which got their attention and was promised a reimbursement. A receipt for the new tire has been sent to Planet Honda many times. This is going on for a few months already and I have not received a reimbursement check after my salesman told me how embarrassed they were that this hasn't been taken care of.Desired Settlement: $250.00 The receipt is $226.90 but I have spent hours on this problem. Let's make it an even $250.00, I should triple it with all the aggravation it has caused me and the stress during the closing of my home and my drive down to Florida.
