Mr. Vickers stated he will be mailing your refund check to Revdex.com today.  When we receive it we will forward to you.

Enclosed you will find a check #[redacted], to satisfy the complaint by [redacted], complaint #[redacted], file #[redacted] @ the DPOR of Virginia.

Never use this company. They do not show up on time nor do they return phone calls or texts. The only reason I used them was they were a contractor for 2-10 Home Warranty Company. After I returned from a business trip (6 Days), I still had no water. I called another plumber even though I had paid a deductible to Plumbers Plus and it took then 20 minutes to fix the problem. Steve the owner of Plumbers Plus was completely useless.

Contrary to the reply from Mr. Vickers, let me state that I am NOT satisfied with the outcome. Mr. Vickers still owes me $617.06 for materials. I have a printed estimate from [redacted] with all the materials and the total comes to $633.18. He charged me $1250.24 I understand that contractors sometimes charge 10% to 20% for gas but NOT 100%. [redacted] will deliver FREE of charge if the materials are over $45.00. [redacted] also has a 5% discount for all "[redacted]" card holders.  I had no idea that Mr. Vickers charged over $50.00 an hour, he did NOT give me a price, his excuse was that he did not know what he would be getting into.  Mr. Vickers also used my tools to remove the flooring. After chiseling at the floor for an hour or so, I offered him my "multimaster" to use to make things easier, which is an electric tool with a 3 inch wide (chisel-like) blade. He stated that he had a tool just like that but left it at home and continued to use mine. After removing less than 1/3 of the floor he called it a day and said he would bring his son to help him the next day. As for the baseboard, I never would have needed if he hadn't tore the old off. He wanted to replace the electric switches with new ones that he described would "look so much better". I asked if he would have to turn the electric off and he said "not me, I know the right  wires to touch" so I agreed. While installing the new switches my breaker tripped 3 times and they lost electric in the bathroom. His son asked where the electric panel was and I showed him. He tried to reset it but still no electric, than I showed him where the reset switch was on the receptacale (red button), I pushed that and they had electric. As for shelving, it was nothing more than two plank boards I had put above my washer & dryer. As for the mirror frame, all they did was cut a piece of molding and secure it around my mirror with caulk adhesive and about a half dozen nails. I had puttied and sanded all holes in the drywall prior to their arrival so they could paint. I think what he is talking about "patching holes" are the nicks they put in the wall after painting that I noticed and had him fix. He wanted to remove all towel bars, but did NOT have a small screw-driver so he used mine. I have no idea what bolts he is talking about. I asked the son ([redacted]) to help me hang the shower curtain because he is taller than I am, it took about 15 min. Mr. Vickers left and the son handed me the bill, I told him I thought it was to much but paid it anyway. The son said to write the check out to him ([redacted] Vickers). Mr. Vickers (Dick) is a senior collecting SS and can NOT make to much money a year. The next day I noticed smudge marks all over the floor where someone stepped in caulk and it was everywhere they had walked. I tried to use GooGone to remove it but it was still visible so I called Mr. Vickers, no answer. I tried to call [redacted], no answer. Then I called Dick's wife and finally got an answer, they were on there way to Oklahoma because her mother was sick, so I mentioned that [redacted] could come over and remove it. The next day [redacted] came over with a razor blade and tried to scrape it off, than he used my nail polish remover which seemed to work better but I ran out of remover and couldn't get it all. About a week later Dick came over with acetone and removed the rest. I told him about the price being to high and he said "we get the same complaint from everyone we do work for" and I told him "then there is a problem". He said he would talk to [redacted] about it, and I never heard from him again. The old baseboard was left in my driveway, with the nails up, so a friend of mine took it to a FREE waste disposal site in MT. Sydney about 5 miles away.
Curious about the shabby work, I decided to contact the DPOR in Richmond, VA to check on the card [redacted] gave me.  Plumbing Plus LLC/[redacted] Vickers, Grottoes, VA ###-###-####/Plumbing, Electrical & Home Improvements Services. Come to find out, he has NO electrical license. Hummmm!

Received service from this company. The Tech was very professional and knowledgeable of the item being repair. The repair was finished in a timely manner and I have very satisfied with the results of the repair.

have used Plumbing Plus for the past four years, and they have performed services for me from fixing my water main, my leaking sink fixtures and my water heater. I have been more than pleased with each encounter.
Jerry arrives when he says he will. When he says he will come, I always know I can count on him. He is always professional and performs the work accurately and completely. When fixing my water main, the problem reoccurred about two months later, and he came to fix it. When I tried to pay him, as it took an extended period of time, he would take no money. I tried to insist, but he would not budge. I feel that I have received the highest level of service when a contractor stands by his work in that manner.
I have had to use other plumbers at points because of my home warranty, and their work has been substandard in comparison. In two instances, I just called Plumbing Plus after they had tried to fix the issue and paid out of pocket for them to fix the other plumber's inferior work.
I would recommend them to anyone as being top notch.

thank you for your follow-up.
The tenant was left with a bill for me to pay.
However, since filing a complaint, the owner of Plumbing Plus has contacted me and has resolved the issue by offering a refund, which I have accepted.    Please consider the matter...

To Whom It May Concern:We provided service for Mr. [redacted] on 3/9/15.  It was reported that there was a leak from the toilet and our technician investigated.  Our technician advised the customer that the toilet was rocking and the first step would be to replace the wax ring in...

order to determine if the leak was coming from the wax ring or the 3" 90 that was pressed against a joist.  The technician advised that more then likely additional repairs involving the pipe against the joist would need to be repaired along with replacing the flange on the existing toilet in order to fully resolve the leaking. On 3/10/15 Robert [redacted] (son of homeowner) called and said that toilet was rocking it was explained to him that recommendations were made by our technician to properly resolve the issue.  The secretary advised that we would be happy to send someone back over to explain it again but there was not much else that could be done if we did not have approval from Mr. [redacted] to make the proper repairs.  At this point [redacted] (Son of the homeowner) stated that he had two more Plumbers coming to the property to look at the issue and give an estimate.  It was again explained that we could come back out, at this point the flange would need to be repaired in order to resolve the rocking. Recommendations and estimate are clearly noted on the signed invoice.Shortly after speaking with [redacted] his father Mr. [redacted] called in and was irate with the secretary.  She explained again that we would send someone out but his son [redacted] already said he had someone else coming to give him a price.  Mr. [redacted] was screaming and hung up so no resolution was found. If  Mr. [redacted] would like for us to come back out to repair his rocking/leaking toilet we would be more then happy to do so.  He needs to review the recommendations noted on the invoice (these were also explained in detail on 3/9/15 by the technician) and it needs to be understood that the issue with the toilet that he is having has nothing to do with  it not being seated properly. If the homeowner would like the proper repairs to be made as noted on the paperwork they are free to contact us to make arrangements.  If they need further explanation of why the wax ring was changed and why the toilet is rocking they can call and speak with a Plumber.  At this point the flange needs to be replaced and the pipe located against the joist needs to be repaired in order to resolve the issues entirely.  Please refer to mechanics invoice for estimate amount. We apologize for any confusion as we take pride in providing reliable quality service and hope that the homeowner decides to have the recommended repairs made in order to resolve the issues they are experiencing.Thank You,[redacted]

I. Richard Vickers(Dick)  accepted the job of  installing ceramic tile on the bathroom floor after meeting with the person on couple of occasions.  I priced the job on time and materials because people do add jobs as we go along.  This particular job , I tore up the floor which...

was glued together and had to use chisel to get it apart .  Not in the plans, I added new baseboards as she wanted, new receptibles and switches with covers(electrical), painted 2  walls and ceiling, shelving boards, made and framed out mirror.  new dryer vent and hood, patched holes in sheet rock, replaced bolts and anchors to put back towel bars.  After finishing I started to clean new tile floor and she said, "No,I will clean the floor."  Then she asked me to put up shower rods which I did.  The next day I was called to clean the tile floor, she had used GooGone on the new tile.  I went back 2 times and cleaned up. After finishing, I took all trash to the dump which I paid for also.

Review: I hired Richard "Dick" Vickers to paint and tile the floor in my bathroom. When I asked how much it would cost he said he couldn't say because he didn't know what he was getting into.I have a washer & dryer in a closet so I removed them a day before he arrived. I also removed the toe molding around the baseboard and cleaned everything.I purchased the paint and tile and had everything ready. The first day "Dick" showed up to remove the old floor but did not have the proper tool, so I let him use mine. He left (for about an hour) for lunch. By 2:00 pm he had removed about 1/3 of the old floor and called it a day. He said he was bringing his son over to help the next day. The next day Dick showed up then his son showed up about an hour later. By the 3rd day the floor was removed. For some reason they removed the old baseboard also. The 4th day they threw all the trash out from the old floor then painted. The next day they put a second coat of paint on then went to [redacted] (around lunch time) for cement board, and put a few piece down. They took off Fri., Sat., Sun. Monday they finished laying the cement board. Tues. Dick showed up early and his son went to [redacted] again to get the tile sealer. The next day (same story) Dick shows up and the son goes to [redacted] again for grout. They grouted the floor, this time staying until 4:00 pm and let it set over the weekend.Dick noticed holes in my dryer vent and asked if I wanted it replaced, I said yes. He also asked If I wanted new light switches which he said "they will look so much better", I said OK. The son showed up with a long metal pipe and ran it from my dryer to the outside vent. Then used some of my flex hose to secure it. He said the outside vent was cracked and would get a new one for me. Dick painted the baseboards while the son fixed the vent, he said it was OK to use but needed a clamp. They replaced the baseboard, washer & dryer and called it a day. After not having a washer & dryer for 2 wks. I was ready to use them. The vent did not work.Desired Settlement: After everything was finished (plus a frame around my mirror) the final total came to $3000.00 for labor. Materials $1250.24 ( I paid for the tile & paint) a grand total of $4250.24I printed all the materials out from [redacted] and the total came to $633.18, they overcharged me $617.06.Dick left early the last day and the son gives me the bill, I told him it was more than I expected but paid it anyway. The son told me to write the check to him ([redacted]).I am asking for a refund of $617.09

Review: We own a condo. Our tenant said there was a leak under the kitchen sink. Based on the Revdex.com rating, we approved the tenant to call Plumbing Plus. We are shocked to hear (after the fact) that Plumbing Plus fixed the leaking pipe for $367.00 (which is insane in itself!) Then the tenant was told that our faucet was bad and the plumber put in a new faucet for $344 (again, without our approval)! The plumber, Christ Tayler, proceeded to check other parts of the unit. He said we needed to rebuild the toilets for $510 and fix two faucets for $468.

Recap- He came in for a leak underneath ONE sink. He left with $711 and an attempt to collect $978 more for unnecessary work. Who does this without the owner's approval?? The ethics of this person does not go with an A+ rating on a business....Desired Settlement: Refund for the unnecessary faucet.

Review: Plumbing Plus used a $39 dollar Angie's List promotion for a bait and switch. My wife, [redacted], contacted them the day of the service, but the plumber refuses to call back and fix this problem.

A short summary: On January 30th, Plumbers Plus came to our residence for the Angie's List promotion. The promotion was set up by [redacted]. I was at home the day they came to the house. Before they would start the service they requested $89 and said this was part of the Angie's List deal. When I said that's not how I understand it, the plumber said we just didn't understand the deal. When I pressed him, he said that he could not explain more and that this happens frequently. I tried to contact my wife to get more information, but she was in business meetings and could not talk. I decided to approve the charge under protest because the plumbing needed to be done. The plumber spent most of his time in his truck doing paper work rather than doing plumbing.

[redacted] called the plumber that afternoon, the receptionist said "well that's the way we do things, but I'll have the owner call you" He has never called.

We complained to Angie's List. They went to the plumber and the plumber told Angie's List that they did more work then what was stated in the original deal and that's why they needed to charge the $89. We told Angie's List this was a lie and told them what happened, as outlined above, Angie's List refunded us our $39.

The original deal was for $39. We want a refund of $50 to cover the difference.

Do not have the business contact us. We tried and they ignored us. The only way this complaint will be resolved is when we receive our $60.Desired Settlement: The original deal was for $39. We want a refund of $50 to cover the difference.

Business

Response:

I received your complaint via the Revdex.com. I wanted to make it

clear that this deal was in no way intended to be a bait and switch as

mentioned in your complaint. We have run many of these deals with great success

and have been active members of Angie’s List since 2007 maintaining one of the

best reputations in San Diego. With that being said, the deal was not written

properly per our pricing structure and the plumber was not in complete

understanding of the deals parameters. I do however feel that you were charged

appropriately for the work performed there. We GPS each vehicle for pricing

accuracy, efficiency and safety reasons. It shows that [redacted] was on site for

1.5 hours. His charges were for the ½ hour spent over the first hour you had

paid for plus the parts. I understand that a portion of that time was spent in

the vehicle working up the paperwork but that time is part of the job. His

reason for the original amount above and beyond the deals value was based upon

our flat rate pricing system and he understood that the deal was for a $159.00

discount rather than the first hour free.

I did try to reach out to your wife at one point in the past

so I’m sorry if you felt you were ignored. It was certainly not my intention.

If I did fail to do so, I sincerely apologize.

Overall, the most important thing to me is your 100%

satisfaction. I’m sorry that you felt the deal was not up to your expectations

and I’m willing to refund you your $50.00 request.

I hope this will change your mind on your perception of my

company. We never intend to Lie, cheat, bait and switch or ignore any of our

customers concerns. We have been successful in San Diego since 1984 for a lack

of the mention above. As you may have seen, we have a very clean reputation

across the board and especially with the Revdex.com.

I appreciate your time and for allowing me the opportunity

to correct this issue. Enclosed you will find a check in the amount of $50.00

per your request. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns

you may have.

Thank you!

I just had my hot water heater and water regulator replaced by Plumbing Plus. The plumber was [redacted] and he did an excellent job. He was polite and explained what he was doing and why it needed to be done. He was methodical and took care to not damage any of the surroundings. He was not in a hurry, price was for the job and not on the clock. My family has used Plumbing Plus since 1994 and have always been more than satisfied with the workmen, the service and work done.

Work was done on the shut off valve needed a new regulator I would rate [redacted] A+ did a great job explaining exactly what was being done and why this needed to be replaced. Answered all of my questions concerning PSI numbers etc. I would highly recommend him for any plumbing jobs.
