Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The contractors description is totally wrong When the plumber arrived he looked at the job and gave me the quote He did not then or at any later time mention leak detection Repeat, he never discussed leak detection, or offered any options I pointed out where I had first seen moisture I didn't tell him to dig at that spot or any other spot I never said anything about being "absolutely sure I knew where the leak was" The plumber said he would start where I pointed because he thought that was the location of the joint between the plastic supply line and the copper house line Unfortunately, the joint, which was the leak, was about four feet away I at no time told the plumber where to look, where not to look, or how to look My initial complaint is absolutely true I think I am entitled to a refund of the excess charge I am years old, have owned houses for years, and this is the first time I have felt so wronged I made a Revdex.com complaint Sincerely,Jarold ***

*** *** contacted us with sewer issuesUpon arriving Mr *** explained the situation and what their handy man had explained he had found. After unstopping the sewer we ran a camera to determine their issuesPipe was not a code approved material and had many bellies or low
points where material was collecting. All work was done to code, permitted with the city, inspected and completed in the promised time. It was after work had started that it was brought to our attention the city also had a problemThis was unbeknownst to both us and Mrs *** as we did not inspect city pipes with our camera as we never doThis issue did not cost the *** anything as city would resolve their own issues, however at this time Mrs *** took this issue to be her only issueSaying she would not pay remainder of the bill. We never demanded anything other than what was owedWe contacted the police for theft of service and contracted an attorney to collect. She never paid in full and said she admitted work was done and needed so she offered to settle out of court

The contractors description is totally wrong.  When the plumber arrived he looked at the job and gave me the quote.
He did not then or at any later time mention leak detection.  Repeat, he never discussed leak detection, or offered any options.
I pointed out where I had first seen moisture.  I didn't tell him to dig at that spot or any other spot.  I never said anything about being "absolutely sure I knew where the leak was".  The plumber said he would start where I pointed because he thought that was the location of the joint between the plastic supply line and the copper house line.  Unfortunately, the joint, which was the leak,  was about four feet away.
I at no time told the plumber where to look, where not to look, or how to look.
My initial complaint is absolutely true.
I think I am entitled to a refund of the excess charge.
I am 79 years old, have owned houses for 55 years, and this is the first time I have felt so wronged I made a Revdex.com complaint.

When I spoke to the customer and quoted him 525 to 725 over the phone the estimate was based on the information he provided, which was incorrect when we showed up and physically inspected the job in person. Customer told me that he knew exactly were the leak was. Plumber offer to...

perform a leak detection before he started to dig to confirm the leak. Customer refused to pay for leak detection because he was absolutely sure he knew were the leak was. Plumber started digging at the specific location pointed out by the customer. The water leak was not at the location pointed out by the owner. Plumber then gave the customer a price to located the leak and repair the leak for $1250, customer agreed and decided to proceed. Total time spent on the job was 5 hours.
No bait and switch, plumber offer to locate the leak the first time before starting the work. Customer insisted the leak was at the location he had us dig the first time and refused to pay for leak detection.
Price breakdown
2 plumber on site  $150 per hour/ per plumber = $300 per hour
$300 x 5hours = $1500
Customer was charged $1250

I called Plumbing Solutions to have a leaking gasket replaced on a toilet. They came out, charging me for the service call, but only "adjusted" the old gasket. They told my husband it would cost more to fix the current toilet than it would to buy a new one.
Today I went to a plumbing supply company and bought a new gasket, which my husband and I replaced in about 10 minutes. The toilet no longer leaks.
Upon searching, I found that the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners shows the plumbing license as expired.
I will not use this plumber again.
