Review: I am a victim of Fraud on my PNC checking and savings account. When I first noticed my bank account had a positive balance of around $2,700 at 12 pm on January 24 from a deposited check, I contacted the bank to see what was going on. I also told them that I did not deposit a check into the account. At that time I couldn't leave my job here in Atlanta to go see what the matter was. I called the bank back (located in Dectaur, Ga) To ask them to close my account, that was when I was notified that the money had been taken out of my account and also another check of around $2,500 was deposited into the account. The bank stated that they could not close my account because the account had pending balances. I left work at 5pm to go to the bank so that I could try to resolve the issue, that is when I was notified that my account had been frozen from one of the "managers" at the branch. She did show me the checks that had been deposited, with two very different signatures of my name. I did not understand why I didn't receive a call or anything to let me know of this unusual activity or to even tell me that my account had been frozen. The activity was done in Chicago and I live in Atlanta. Whoever did this, did use a PNC atm in Chicago. I received a letter telling me that PNC was collecting my debt. That didn't make sense to me because clearly no decent investigation was done. I filed my police report and did everything that I was supposed to do. PNC is attempting to make me for something I had nothing to do with. It upsets me because I trusted them with my money and finances, and they are doing nothing to help me on my behalf as a victim of bank fraud.Desired Settlement: Refund of previous balance, before fraud.

Review: Opened account with $25.00 in 2010 at 8th ave. branch in Bethlehem, specifically stated "did not want checks" and this is verified on their computer as of today. 7 or 8 days after opening account made 2 small payments $2.25 and $3.00, 6 days later I receive checks in the mail as well as a bounced fee of $60.00 ($30 each) becaused they took money out for checks of which I did not order, I called the bank at once and they told me they were going to reverse the fees and all would be okay however 3 weeks ago as I tried to open an extra account at my bank they told me PNC had turned me into Chex systems and can not help me till it is removed form Chex. I went right away to PNC and it showed right on their computer that "customer does not want checks" He [redacted], told me he will get it fixed. as I did not receive any calls after 7 days I called him and he had no answers, today I receive a call from another lady telling me I have to pay $247.00 to get it removed. Please this is a fraud they are playing on me, I am disabled, 60, have had loans, checking accounts, savings, own my own home and never did anything wrong with them. can you help me?Desired Settlement: My name removed from Chex systems "With Proof" and the balance of my $25.00 I opened account with.

Review: I found out in March 2014 I had still had an open home equity loan with PNC bank when I was trying to refinance the home. The line was paid off over two years ago and since then I haven't received a statement or anything from PNC Bank indicatng to me the account was still open. I called in and requested the account be closed and for a record of release to be faxed to my mortgage refinance company as PNC bank instructed me I could not do it by phone, I had to fax the request. I was told by phone on April 8 the account would be closed in 3 - 5 business days and the record of release would be faxed when the account was closed. In my fax I asked to be advised by phone of progress on this. No word from PNC Bank so on April 16 I called PNC Bank (many times told different numbers to call by them for different departments and after my account and SSN is not regonized and next to impossible to get a person on the phone) as I had not hear anything from them and neither had my mortgage company. I was told then that the account was closed and the letter would be faxed by Monday April 20 at the LATEST. Tuesday April 21 I called several times asking for a manager and explained the situation and was told I would be transfered. After being on hold for over 10 minutes, then end up back in their voice automated system which just disconnected me. Every time I call I am told something different. They say I am not allowed to talk to the people who close the accounts and fax the record of releases, that they don't fax the releases when I was told multiple times they do. Their voice automated system is setup so it is next to impossible to talk to a person, and still to this day my mortgage company has not received the record of release. I faxed one last time PNC Bank's department that can not speak to anyone that I would file a complaint if this was not done by Friday April 24. As of today still no word from them. I feel they are holding my property hostage with a lein that was paid off several years ago and the fact they won't respond or let me speak to someone directly that will resolve it is even worse. I have had people read me the fax number and info from my first fax so I know they have it. And a person on tuesday April 21 that told me she would send in the request to see why it hasn't be done yet - [redacted]. What can I do to get this resolved? It is costing me money and time and it is just inappropriate business behavior for any customer to have to go through.Desired Settlement: A fax to be sent to my mortgage company as promised, a phone call letting me know it is being done and an apology for just plain unacceptable business behavior. How can you treat your customers this way.

Review: My mortgage was included in a bankruptcy case 10 years ago. I began calling PNC and asking questions about this situation and also loan assumptions because I have been trying to sell my house for over a year and had someone that wanted to do an assumption. After I made a couple of inquiries, the mortgage was reported to the credit bureau incorrectly. They are legally not able to do this and I believe did so spitefully. Then when I tried to get it corrected I spoke with the supervisor of the area ([redacted]). She told me she would correct it and phone me back with confirmation on 08/01/13. She didn't and instead passed it off to another representative without the whole story. This rep left me a message asking what I wanted her to do on 08/02/13. On 08/05/13 I spent an hour on the phone just trying to get to [redacted] or the other rep only to meet with rude representatives that only wanted to stall me and act as if they couldn't assist. I was finally able to get to someone who could assist me. She verified the change was made, but that I couldn't get confirmation until they mailed out a letter and that could take 2 weeks. Also, the credit bureau could take another 30 days. So now I have to waste more time trying to contact them and get the issue resolved faster.Desired Settlement: 1-2 months mortgage payment credit for having to waste my time for their error and determent to my credit reporting.

Review: I have been a member of pnc for my business and personal account. I have discussed with them how I can have overdraft for my business account. They have advised me I can transfer the funds from my personal account to my business account. I have been following this directive and every time I do this my funds transferred posts to account after purchased transactions. I have complained about this several times, I called about this same type of problem 08/27 and the representative was also unsure why the transaction posted before my deposit, but this last offense is unacceptable. I transferred $115 and $25 to cover transactions totaling $138. Once transferred funds went through and the other did not, causing the account to go in overdraft. Then pnc released more funds after causing the account to be overdrawn $215.30. The account was in a positive on 10/01, but the transfer of $25 was still pending. I am unsure of cash transferred from the same banking institution to the same banking institution is in a pending status.I deposited $116.03 on 9/30 and $25.00 on 10/01 = $140.00Purchases total $128.339/30 13.62+20.00+10.34= $43.9610/01 22.74+9.70= $32.4410/02 2.16+17.26+9.54+3.20+9.08+10.69= $51.93Desired Settlement: Please refund all overdrafts due to following directive of pnc reps and funds transferred.

Review: I have consistently had issues with customer service with this bank. I was informed of one thing, and then charged fees because that information was incorrect. They refuse to refund because it would be a "courtesy" refund, even though it is a result of misinformation from a bank representative. The only way the bank would refund fees incurred in the past due to a [redacted] charging the wrong account and refusing accountability on it, was to have a "courtesy" refund, so because of that I am now ineligible to receive a refund for fees caused by being given incorrect information by a bank representative. I have had nothing but customer service issues with this bank for quite some time. I would switch to another bank if there was another one convenient, but unfortunately, at this time there is not. So I am forced to stick with them and file complaints every single time I receive poor customer serviceDesired Settlement: Refund of all overdraft fees incurred from 10/15 thru 10/24 and termination of [redacted]. this is the only way to rectify the issue and keep me from escalating further.

Review: On August 22, 2013 I had $11.14 in my regular checking account; I made a deposit of $20.00 cash at an ATM and it (appeared) to be credited to my account that day, providing a balance of $31.14. A check posted to my account in the amount of $20.29, leaving a balance of $10.85. I have set on my account to transfer $25.00 on Friday to a 'reserve' account, within PNC; however, if there has not been enough money in my account, the funds would not transfer and I would receive a notice in the mail indicating this and my account would not be charged. However, on 8/22/2014, PNC transferred $25.00 (even though there was only $10.85), which now has a balance of -$14.85; ATM deposit fee of $2.50 accessed on 8/22/13 brings my account to -$16.65. On 8/23/13, I have the following transactions: +$2.50 (reimbursement of ATM deposit fee; balance -$14.15), deposit $10.00 (Chase auto pay, balance -$4.15), deposits .41 & .29 (chase auto pay - test), overdraft fee of $36., balance -$39.45, withdrawl .70 (chase auto pay- test, funds transfer +$25., balance -$15.15. Today, 8/26/13, PNC is charging me again $36.00 overdraft fee leaving me a balance of -$51.15. I called and spoke with customer service, she stated there was nothing that could be done. I demanded to speak with a supervisor, and he stated there was nothing he would do, I stated to him that I am writing a complaint to the Revdex.com, he then offered to transfer me to the 'escalation department', where I am in contact with Mr. [redacted]. He stated the charges were my fault, I asked him to explain why they would attempt to transfer money within PNC from one account to another when there was not enough money to make the transfer and why they would charge me $72.00 for this. He stated he would call me back. I am waiting. 9:55AM I just spoke with Mr. [redacted], and they will NOT refund $36.00 stating it was my error.Desired Settlement: I want the balance of my account refunded to me. The balance is $23.35. I am prepared to close this account with PNC when I receive my balance.

Review: I used the atm #[redacted] on 01/06/16 at 11am, when I tried to withdraw $500, nothing came out of atm, but took it from my bank. There was an employee with the atm next to the one I was using and saw the whole thing. She would not help by telling me the vendors info, but just to have my bank dispute the transaction. I believe the employee servicing the machine may have taken the money, and I believe that wawa has video evidence. None will help me.Desired Settlement: I want my money, I also want PNC bank to hold its employees accountable for their actions.

Review: I have a PNC Points Visa credit card. The credit card offers rewards points for purchases that are made with the credit card. On June 26, 2015 I contacted PNC Points and talked to Jessica S[redacted]. I told her that my rewards account is short 80 points. The individual transactions on the account are correct, but the total that is showing on the account on the PNC Points website is short by 80 points. She took my information. Jocelyn T[redacted] called me back later and said that the complaint was sent to the escalation department in order to look into it further. I called again on September 8, 2015, because I did not receive any communications from PNC Points. I talked to Ben B[redacted] and he said that they have concluded that the account is correct. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: I recently found out my bank enacted new ATM withdrawal fees. As far as I can tell, I was not informed of this in any proactive way by the bank, which I believe to be mandated by law, to prevent the predatory use of hidden fees. The bank claims to have sent me an email and a letter. I definitely did not receive either. In the case of the e-mail, this is certainly easier to prove (by simply searching my inbox for any communications from PNC). I am offended that they believe I would simply lie about not being notified.Since Jan 1st of this year, I have been charge 34 separate $2.50 ATM withdrawal fees, totaling $85.I am sure I am not the only one who was unaware of these new fees, and I find the bank's actions extremely underhanded and unfair. There are no PNC-branded ATMS within 15 blocks of my home or office, so I have also asked PNC to add some locations that are not in center city.Desired Settlement: I would like all of the fees to be reimbursed, as I was not adequately informed of the new fees, as I believe is required by law. This would ideally be done as a blanket class-action refund for all those affected.PNC should also add more ATM locations if they want to keep the fees around, or get rid of them all together.

Response:

PNC has responded directly to the client.

Review: Once again, PNC Bank is using shady business tactics to dupe their customers out of their hard-earned money via fees, and lots of them. Upon several recent reviews of my checking account, I have noticed my husband's paycheck, along with several other deposits, only go into the account as "pending" and stay like that for up to several days. Meanwhile, any purchases that come in during that time are subject to overdraft fees. Why is a direct deposit of a company pacheck on hold as "pending" all day long? Something like that should be put right into the account at midnight and released immediately! It is obvious by the setup in the account activity that PNC would like to hold that check, put any withdrawals through first, and collect more overdraft fees. PNC Bank has a long history of purposely lining up withdrawals so this happens to their customers. They were even the subject of a class action lawsuit for it. It appears they have not learned the errors of their ways.Desired Settlement: I want all of the overdraft fees restored to my account.

Business

Response:

There is no signed authorization to release information. PNC has responded directly to the customer in writing as of 09/22/14. [redacted]

Review: These people have lied again. They wait until your bank account is low and hold checks so they can bounce them and give you fees. When I have the money in the bank they take 3 to 4 days to cash it. If I look like I ma running low then they put thought checks asap. They do not do credit before debit so if you make a deposit they will not let that deposit count asap or do debit and credits at midnight. These actions are like I am dealing with crooks. I am sick of it and I want these NSF fees back.Desired Settlement: I WANT MY MONEY BACK FOR NSF FEES PERIOD.

Review: I went into a PNC branch the week of February first to fill out an account linking agreement. The training representative [redacted] was assisting me with that information. Upon filling out the information I was told that it would take two to three weeks for the information to process. A few hours later I get a call from the branch from [redacted] that he had hand written on his part of the paper and it needed to be electronically done, so he needed me to come back to the branch and refill the sheet out. Once I returned he apologized and assured me there will be no issues this time. A few weeks past and I still do not see my accounts linked I decide to call and inquire about the status of the account linking agreement. The lady PNC representative on the phone informed me that it was declined because the Branch representative which was [redacted] did not put all three accounts on the paper since it was a Virtual Wallet account. By this time I was frustrated because I have been waiting so long for a simple request to be fulfilled. I was then informed I must go back to the branch or call the branch and have the representative fill out the other accounts on the account linking agreement sheet and re-fax the sheet in. Once I hung up I immediately called and informed [redacted] who surprisingly picked up and explained what happened and what needed to be done. He again apologized and assured me one hundred percent he would take care of the issue so I did not have to come back to the branch. Remaining optimistic I hung up and waited until February 26th 2015 a couple weeks later to inquire about the status of the agreement only to find out that [redacted] did nothing he promised me. I am furious at this point because I try to remain optimistic when certain mistakes happen but, this has gone to far. I will be looking to take my business elsewhere since I can not get help on this issue. Sad I have had other problem here. This location had bad business practices that needs to be looked at. Sadly I will never return there.Desired Settlement: I want corporate to look into this matter and have my accounts linked as soon as possible. This is a huge inconvenience!! [redacted] needs to either be suspended or fired for not doing his job correctly. If an employee is training it is important to make sure they are fully informed on how to do a job and make sure it is done correctly. Please have PNC immediately fix this issue and contact me regarding this issue.

Review: I received an offer from PNC bank that by depositing a total of $2000 to a new checking account, I'd get $200 bonus. Please refer to the leaflet copy attached. But PNC insisted that the $2000 must be deposited within 60 days. However, if you read the leaflet, you'd think that the 60 days limitation is for other conditions, i.e. direct deposit, making purchase (they were all met and verified by PNC). The limitation is not for the $2000. My initial understanding of the leaflet was that upon total deposit is accumulated to reach $2000, the $200 bonus should be given to customer. I read leaflet many times again and my current understanding is same as before.Desired Settlement: to credit $200 to my checking account as promised by PNC bank.

Review: I had $226 in my checking account out after several transactions were processed/posted on July 1, 2013. I then had 4 other transactions [redacted] $250. Legitimately I went to [redacted] on Wednesday June 26, I paid[redacted] and [redacted] on 7/1. Therefore, in my opinion since I had enough money to clear the $118 from [redacted] and PNC is openly admitting to me that they knew the transactions all were requested from these companies at the EXACT SAME TIME STAMP, but they take the highest amount first from the balance. PNC Cant provide me with any information stating where I have agreed to this, etc. It should also be noted I have been a customer since 2007 and since 2008 I have had the same direct deposit date every other Tuesday, which would have been 7/2/2013. I should have had $108 in my account after [redacted] cleared then 2 overdraft fees for the [redacted] and [redacted]. I should be credited back 1 overdraft fee for the [redacted] transaction. It is not moral to pick and choose how they balance my check book. I balanced my checkbook on Wednesday when I went to [redacted]. I knew I would be responsible for the overdraft fees for [redacted] and [redacted], however to take the highest transaction first when it was time stamped at the exact same time as the amount that would have cleared is highly unethical and for a 6 year customer that has paid overdraft fees and that has had direct deposit at their institute since the account was opened is extremely bad business.Desired Settlement: The desired outcome is that the $36 overdraft fee that was charged for the [redacted] transaction be credited back to my account.

Response:

Dear Ms. [redacted]:

Your correspondence to the Revdex.com (Revdex.com) of Western Pennsylvania has been forwarded to PNC Bank National Association's Executive Client Relations Office for review and response. I appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns regarding the overdraft fees assessed to your PNC Bank checking account ending [redacted].

In determining whether you have sufficient funds in your account to pay checks and other withdrawal items, PNC's general practice is to consider all pending electronic transactions (including, but not limited to, point-of-sale transactions) for which PNC Bank, National Association ("PNC") has received notice, even if those transactions have not yet posted to your account. Pending transactions immediately impact the balance used to pay items presented for payment during nightly processing. We receive transaction information from merchants and other sources throughout the business day. Although pending transactions are reflected in your available balance, Overdraft Item Fees are only assessed on the posted items presented to your account against uncollected or nonsufficient funds.

PNC's general practice is to post items according to the date and time they were authorized or when PNC received notice of the transaction. Details of our policy are disclosed in the Withdrawing Money section of our PNC Bank Account Agreement for Personal Checking, Savings and Money Market Accounts ("Account Agreement"). For your reference, a copy of the Account Agreement was sent to you under separate cover.

Our records indicate that your account is opted out for overdraft coverage which allows PNC Bank to decline check card transactions, at our discretion, when your funds are not sufficient to cover the amount of the transaction.

My review of your account history indicates Overdraft Item Fees were appropriately assessed on July 2, 2013, as disclosed in the notices sent to you on the dates the fees were assessed. It is PNC's practice to refund any fee assessed as the result of a Bank error. However, PNC is sympathetic to your concerns. On August 15, 2013, one Overdraft Fee in the amount of $36.00 was refunded as an accommodation.

PNC Bank offers options such as Overdraft Protection and PNC Alerts, which in addition to keeping your account register up to date, recording purchases as they are made, and maintaining a positive account balance, may help to effectively manage the account and avoid the assessment of fees.

Thank you for the opportunity to clarify our position on this matter. Should you have any further questions or concerns regarding your account please contact me directly at ###-###-####[redacted].

Sincerely,

[redacted] Executive Client Relations

Review: On September 22, 2015, I sat down with Marc and David from PNC Bank to discuss a new credit card processor to accept the new chip technology credit cards. A device was shown to me by Marc and there was discussion about monthly rates. David informs me that they will be able to waive a fee from my business account to alleviate the monthly rate increase with the processor. At this point, the gentlemen are packing up to leave as Marc pulls out a piece of paper for me to sign to get the process started and the two men leave my business.Five days later, I receive mail from First Data with a "Terms of Lease Agreement" enclosed. I read the agreement and see a lease term of 48 months. Surprised by the lease term duration and termination policies, I call Marc directly to inform him that it will be impossible for me to meet the requirements of the agreement and that a change or a cancel needs to happen. Marc immediately becomes defensive about how the processor and agreement had been presented to me at my business, stating that he verbalized every part of the lease agreement with me. There is no way, as a small business owner, I would ever commit to a four year lease, and I had no idea that I was being asked to sign a binding contract. I was not even given a copy of this agreement to inspect on the day Marc came to my business. At this point, I ask for the lease to be terminated before it takes affect, and before the processor arrives in the mail at my business. I spoke to Marc's boss, Alex and he tells me that there is no way I can terminate the lease because the bank would be stuck with a processor they couldn't use or resell. However, if I want to buy the processor for $849, they can then terminate my lease, so I can keep the processor, but not be able to use it. This just seems like bad business.I feel as though the bank no longer cares for my business or loyalty as the people I have spoken with express no concern for the negative affect this places on my struggling business.Desired Settlement: Terminate the lease in question for merchant servicesWaive any fees or charges for termination Waive any and all merchant services fees for the month of October

Review: I filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy on April 13, 2011, and received a discharge on July 29, 2011. My statement of intent advised PNC Mortgage that I wanted to reaffirm my mortgage. PNC Mortgage had approximately 107 days to provide a Reaffirmation Agreement, which they never did. However, they did offer me a loan modification in which I entered into on June 21, 2011. The loan modification was submitted through my bankruptcy attorney's office. I have made all of my payments on time and PNC Mortgage refuses to report to the credit bureaus that I am making my payments, in addition to providing me with a payment book or monthly statement. They indicate that I need to re-open my bankruptcy case to have a reaffirmation agreement entered, which costs the sum of $260.00. Pursuant to my attorney, there is no guarantee that the Judge will open my case. In addition, my attorney advises that a reaffirmation agreement is not necessary since the loan modification was entered into after the filing of the bankruptcy; therefore, making the new agreement a post-petition debt. I have been provided with a payment history from PNC Mortgage which shows that I have made all of my payments and that each payment has been made on time.

Response:

This letter is response to your written inquiries dated January 21, January 23 and February 6, 2015 to the Revdex.com (Revdex.com), Congresswoman [redacted] and the [redacted] Attorney General, respectively, regarding your referenced loan. We appreciate your patience while we researched our records to respond to your concerns. Our records indicate that this account has been discharged in bankruptcy. PNC Mortgage is not attempting to collect against you personally, but is simply responding to your request. In your correspondences, you stated that you filed Chapter 7 Bankruptcy on April 13, 2011 and included copies of documentation reflecting the filing and discharge of the bankruptcy, which occurred on July 29, 2011. You stated that your Statement of Intent advised PNC Mortgage that you wanted to reaffirm the mortgage debt; however, instead of providing the reaffirmation agreement, PNC Mortgage offered you a loan modification that you accepted on June 21, 2011. You stated that you have made all of your payments in a timely manner; but PNC refuses to report your payments to the credit bureau agencies, as well as provide you with a payment book or monthly billing statement. In addition, you stated that you were informed that you would need to re-open your bankruptcy case in order to have a reaffirmation agreement entered, which will cost you $260.00. You requested that PNC Mortgage send a correction request to the credit bureau agencies to update your payment history and provide you with monthly statements. According to our records, your loan is due for the April 1, 2015 payment. Please be advised that PNC Mortgage does not automatically send out a reaffirmation agreement when a loan is in active bankruptcy. You or your attorney would have had to contact our Bankruptcy Department and request for a reaffirmation agreement to be sent out. Our records do not indicate that we received a call or a written request for a reaffirmation agreement to be sent out, during your bankruptcy. Since a reaffirmation agreement was not requested, we did not send one. Please be advised that due to your loan not having been reaffirmed, PNC Mortgage is prohibited from reporting the loan debt to the credit bureau agencies after your bankruptcy was discharged. Although you have continued making your payments, we are not allowed to report on these monthly payments. Additionally, please be advised that due to new mortgage servicing requirements implemented in January 2014, PNC Mortgage does not provide statements or coupon books for loans discharged in bankruptcy; however, you may determine the amount of your monthly payment by visiting [redacted], or by calling Customer Service at ###-###-####. We also provide the current payment amount on the annual escrow analysis statement for loans with an escrow account. We regret any inconvenience you have experienced as a result of this matter and hope this letter provides clarity to your concerns. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter, please contact me at ###-###-####. Sincerely, [redacted] Consultant 1 Enterprise Escalation Group In Support of Mortgage PNC Bank
