Review: I have lived in my home since 2/92. I refinanced my home in 01 due to a divorce and I believe in 05 I did a modification due to loss of income (I lost my job). Back in 9/13 I tried to do another mod to my mortgage. The reason for the mod is that my husbands income was significantly lower than the prior year. I provided all info in a timely fashion and followed up the next day. I have dates, times and names of all that I spoke to in the 7 mos that it took to finally get a decision. When I initiated the mod process I made my 09/13 mortgage pmt. I guess since 05 I missed 2 mortgage pmts because in Sept when I made my pmt they mailed the pmt back. So I called to see why they mailed it back and I was told that because I missed 3 pmts I needed to make all three to reinstate the mtg. I told them at the time I could not do so, I did not have the money. They told me that because I was doing a mod to just hold tight and whenever a decision was made things would be alright. What I was not told was that my home would go into foreclosure. By the time PNC had a complete package it was the end of Nov. I was very diligent, whatever info they requested I faxed it or mailed and I followed up with phone calls. So I waited and kept up with the process. I would call once or sometimes twice a week and no decision was made. I requested letters to tell me how much they needed to reinstate the mortgage and NEVER received one. Finally in 02/14 they requested financial info again...I was told "that because it expired" they needed updated financial info. Why? because after 90 days financial info expires. I was also told by a [redacted] 2/11/14 that because my situation "wasn't a priority situation" that is why the process is taking so long. I demanded to speak to a supervisor and was deflected every time, until 4/2/14 I finally spoke with a [redacted] and he finally got the attorney to send me reinstatement amount. For further info I have plenty of documentation to back up my story, feel free to give me a call or send an email.Desired Settlement: I want an apology, I want a refund of attorney fees and I also want to know why it took 7 mos to make a decision on the modification? I want to know why the many people that I spoke to at PNC gave me so many excuses, why when I spoke to the attorney they told me I needed to speak to PNC? No one at PNC or the attorney's office gave me a straight answer? Why should me and my family be penalized for PNC's neglect to process my package in a timely fashion?

Review: Irving branch mgr of PNC bank in Midtown [redacted] is totally incompetent he closed my account right before my direct deposit on this friday July 14th and I already set up auto pay with my debit card with all my creditors/utilities and fitness club. He promised to call me back after speaking with his Loss prevention mgr and avoided my calls when I called the bank. He is very unprofessional and is not a man of his word. Review: My mother passed away on Jan 1st 2014, her social security check was deposited into a duel account with her OR me both listed on the account. The social security check for December was deposited on January 3rd 2014. I spoke with the Social Security office who verified that the check was owed and would not be taken back because it was for the month of December before she passed away in January. I went to PNC and withdrew appx $900 and left in $240. The bank called me and said that the SS office had requisted the funds be sent back and that they had obliged. I called the SS office to confirm this and they said that was not true and the funds were not returned to them and that did not requist them. I spoke with the branch manager (her name is [redacted])and she then said the funds had not been sent back but were being held by PNC bank. She told me I had to go to the Social Security office and have them send a letter and fax it to her stating that they did not want or requist that the funds be returned and they could return the money back into the account. This was done and now they still will not credit the account. There should be a balance of $240 but because they removed the $900 the account is now overdrawn by appx $200. The bank now states that I need to come in and deposit $700 plus to rectify the account. The social security office says this is a mistake on behalf of the bank and should have never taken place. I would like the money to be put back in the account so that I can get the money owed and close the account.Desired Settlement: deposit the money owed back into my account so that I can withdrawl it and close the account

Review: I am inquiring about the 300.00 account reward I was promised when opening my PNC account in August 2014. I was told that I should have direct deposit set-up, a min balance of 20 000 in my account. I patiently waited, then I was told I should have payments made out of that account (apparently checks did not count as payments). I set up the online payment and paid bills... I asked the bank clerks, I called the 1800 customer service number, I tried sending a message through PNC Banking secure system, that continuously returns an error that message cannot be send. I am ready to close my account, given that I was falsely promised rewards that have never been honored and the requirements change each time, while PNC is enjoying my minimum balance that I never withdrew.Desired Settlement: The 300.00 promised when I opened the account.

Review: PNC Bank has closed my smart access account without notice. I found out when I went to use the card. When I called all I was told was we have the right to close your account for any reason. When I asked the reason. No one can answer me. Additionally, I was told that it would take 30 days for me to get the money back that was in the account and that they would be charging me 10.00 to have a check mailed to my home. The branch listed is not the Branch in question because with a Smart access card you can not make branch withdrawals without an active card and only via cash advance in which they have cancelled my card. I have even escalated the matter in which iwas told it would take at least 5 to 7 business days before I received an answer and the normal process time was 15 days to close the account and another 14 days before I saw my money after that. So in total 30 days to get back my money from a bank account that they closed for no reasonDesired Settlement: I would like to be able to go into a branch and receive my money as soon as possible, or not have to wait 30 days to receive a check

Review: I started my account with [redacted] Bank which was then bought by [redacted] Bank of the [redacted] which was then merged with PNC. My account was a free checking account for approximately fifteen years and at some point last year they apparently changed the account with out my consent. They started charging fee's to this dormant account. This went unnoticed until they put the account in default with their fee's and demanded payment for the overdraft they created. I called and asked to close out the account and they said they would not close the account with out me paying for the overdraft on the account which they created. I did end up paying it to close the account because they were threating to charge me $7.00 dollars a day until it was brought back from a negative balance.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the amount of the fee's they charged to my account. Which would roughly be 68 dollars.

Review: Abusive fees were charged on a checking account due to an over draft, Fee's were part of a tier system at $7/day. This did not include an overdraft fee of $36, which was added to the total fee's. Total charged was $71. This is a new fee structure introduced to an existing free business account. Manager waited several days before returning a call, racked up more fees. Manager said to call 1-888 number, but customer service said got to the manager. No one could give me clear answer as to the fee'sDesired Settlement: Refund all fees due to abusive nature of tier system used against the customer.

Review: I have recently decided to close my PNC Bank account and join my Wife's account. I am a Military member who has endured a series of surgeries over the past several weeks and have had to rely on phone calls to PNC Bank for information concerning pending transactions as I have no access to my records. While on the phone, I made it clear that no further transactions were to be processed and cancelled my debit card to ensure no recurring payments would process. After ensuring no further account activity would occur, I changed my military pay to my Wife's account. I recently received a phone call informing me that the account was negative $188. I asked how the account went negative and was informed that it was because of a $1 transaction a $4 transaction, and a $9 transaction. Had I been made aware of these amounts I would have easily been able to transfer funds into the account to cover the negative balance. This shouldn't have even been necessary as I requested all payments stopped for the account. PNC Bank has taken as long as a week to process purchases at major gas stations, grocery chains, and ATMs. You never have any idea if your "available balance" is accurate or not and constantly have to keep receipts for items as small as candy bars because the transaction may not come out until a week later. This was part of my decision to close my account at PNC. I purchased a money order and attempted to pay the negative balance but they wouldn't accept a money order while the account was negative. I offered to go cash it and pay the account only to be informed the account still couldn't be closed on any day I deposit funds. The difficulty in closing this account, inaccurate "available balance" information, and slow debit processing times, seem to go quite far towards increasing the odds of overdraft fee chain reactions. I find it suspicious I received a "courtesy call" two weeks after negative fees ceased accruing instead of notifying me of a pending fee I could have addressedDesired Settlement: Refund of overdraft fees.

Review: I occured an excessive amount of overdraft fees with this bank. There was a transaction that came to my account for $200 for [redacted]. The [redacted] merchant was "[redacted]". The transaction came out of my account then a day later it vanished. I called the bank and was told that they did not see a charge that was ever put through by that merchant. I thought the merchant may have returned the funds or there may have been a system error. I used my debit card to buy food and other items for my household. Then suddenly the $200 went back through maybe a day or two later. That caused several items that were pending in my account to incur an overdraft fee for each item that posted! So for every single item that posted after my account was negative I was given a fee There were 4 fees at first totaling $144. Then two more pending transaction posted for a total of six fees and that brought the total to fees to $216. My checks are usually $340 and those fees took nearly my whole check. Luckily this was a holiday and I earned more. I messaged the bank and asked for a reversal of the fees because the all of those fees were ridiculous and put a caused financial strain on my family and me. They were able to reverse two fees in for the amount of $72 ( the fees are $36 ) and I am grateful for that. I would like the other four fees reversed.Desired Settlement: I would like the bank to reverse 4 overdraft fees that totals $144.00.

Review: Dear Sir/Madam:

I bought a house in 2005 with Mortgage $173,166. It was financed by national city mortgage with fixed 30 year interest rate 5.75%. The loan was later sold to PNC mortgage.

I received a hardship loan modification in 2013 from PNC mortgage which extended my loan to 40 years with 5% fixed rates. On top of it, I was imposed over $86,000 attorney fees from PNC under the name of "foreclosure" despite the lump sum I paid over $20000 and payment below $25,000 from Keep you home california

Now as of today, after 10 years of payments, I owe the bank over $286,000 which is even more than what I have borrowed 10 years ago.

I don't think the PNC is helping people. It's very obvious the bank is taking advantage of the situation ripping people off.

I hereby file a complaint and would appreciate all your help.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

The bank should have the attorney fees waived because the process was handled according to the bank's procedure. Attorneys are employed by the bank, not me.

Review: I sent a check to my mortgage company by mail on August 26, 2013 so that it would arrive in time for my September payment. The date was clearly marked on the check but was cashed on August 29, 2013. I spoke to my mortgage company ([redacted]) and asked why this occured. I was told that the check is processed on the date it is recieved and that I needed to speak to my Bank. PNC told me they would call me back but never did. I went to the bank at 1:30pm today 8/29/13 to speak to a supervisor about why this check was cashed before the desinated date on the check. I was told that there is nothing they could do about it and that I would be charged an overdraft fee. I have going to this bank for years even before it became PNC from [redacted] and my check and my husbands check have always been direct deposited along with my husbands check as he is a disabled veteran. I asked why there is a date on a check if it means nothing and I know that I could not cash a check without a date. This means that my money can be taken without regard to date but I cannot withdraw my money without a date. This is horrible. I am very upset and was given no kindness or satisfaction.Desired Settlement: I feel that a refund of any overdraft charge in this matter would be satisfactory. I am thinking of changing to a Credit Union and hope I will get more personal treatment as I have in the past.

Review: This company has a very inaccurate and manipulative way of accruing collections of fees from their customer's accounts. In particular I am speaking of overdraft fees. Someone behind the scenes continues to inaccurately post conflicting dates under my account activity and this is highly unacceptable and your processes need to be better supervised or changed. I have screenshots with time stamps as well as receipts, etc... showing a listing of ALL of my account activity as well as my current balance. However, magically out of the clear blue sky, AFTER that time-stamp and what the receipts say and show, somehow "old" or "past" transactions magically appear showing a date that is PREVIOUS of that time-stamp or receipt that YOU provided. The proof that I have shows that whoever is putting this information in, is doing so in a tardy or falsified manner. If a check posted on 12/1 and is not added into my account activity until the next day 12/2 but still has a date of 12/1 showing that was not there initially, this is considered falsifying information and dates and is punishable to a crime by law. I have been a customer and consumer for nearly a decade and I have allowed this issue to go unsaid up until now. Yes, I could have a higher balance in my account or a savings to pull from IF I was financially able, which could avoid these things. However, I am not of the wealthy or the rich. So I have what I have and you as my bank should assess fairly and honestly and not with falsified dates or dates that have been input into my account activity late and try to act as though it has always been there when it has not. This is false and unnecessary confusion and highly unprofessional. You should be serving your customers and consumers with some level of integrity instead of ripping them off for your gain.I am a very loyal customer so it has been VERY hard for me to leave. However, you are leaving me no choice because you have not been able to assist me in any way. I sincerely thank you for your time!Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed the two overdraft fees that were assessed to my account on 12/2/2015.

Review: I opened several accounts with PNC Bank approximately 6 weeks ago. I was told at that time that checks and an ATM card would be ordered for my accounts. After 4 weeks, I asked about them. After week 5 I called the Regional Manager and escalated the issue to him. He assures me that the checks would be "overnighted" to me. They finally arrive 3-4 days later. Still no ATM card. When I went by today to close these accounts and move them back to the financial institution I banked with previously, I was told that there would be a $50 "early account closing" fee. WOW...a back that provides itself a $50 incentive to treat it's customers badly. That's a great business model.Desired Settlement: I want to close my accounts (without being charged a $50 for the privilege.) In return, I promise NEVER to put ANY of my money in PNC Bank.

Review: My wife made a deposit of my student loan check into our account as I always do about every 3-4 months. Before making the deposit, the teller assured her that a portion of the funds would be made available at midnight and the remainder would be made available the next day at a later time. Since we had made two large deposits of this nature in the past, we had no reason to question the bank and made the deposit. The next day we began to pay our bills by check out of our account. It wasn't until we tried to use our debit cards that we realized there was a problem with our account. My wife called and they said they decided to put a hold on the check but gave no explanation as to why. We were told that the funds would be available a week later. We were never notified of the hold, it was just simply placed on the account. When asked about the checks that were already written due to the information my wife was told by the teller at the bank, we were simply told that the bank would reject the checks and we would have to pay the overdraft fees. When we reached the overdraft department, we were told that the hold was placed on by the branch manager. When we reached the branch manager, we were told it was the overdraft department who was responsible for the hold. After three days we are getting the run around and are now being told it is the loss prevention department who is responsible for the hold and the check looked suspicious because it was out of state and an unusual amount that was being deposited in the account. The bank can find no record of the other large deposits I made into the account only a few months ago and now those transaction have disappeared from our online banking account. The bank can also not provide us with a copy of a bank statement. They are continuing to accumulate overdraft fees on the checks that were written that we will have to pay which will be more money we will have to pay the bank and we are now stuck with the consequences that will occur once those checks are declined.Desired Settlement: I would simply want the bank to cover the checks which were written because we were told by the bank the funds would be available. I also want the bank to take the overdraft fees off of my account from these checks because we were never notified by them that there was a hold being placed on the account.

I spoke to someone in that department and I was told that they are closing my account for no reason just because. How do you do business like this?If I was not able to get a account you should have told me that up front. Don't wait until I deposit cash and then close my account.
