Review: I am a PNC Bank customer. I used a PNC Bank ATM on 12/12/13 and attempted to withdraw $600.00 out of a PNC Bank ATM and the money did not dispense. The money came out of my account and PNC bank is giving me a hard time giving my money back. I have spoke to several people in the Retail Escalations department. The first person I spoke to was [redacted] and she promised that the ATM would be audited on Saturday 12/14/13 but it could not be done on Friday 12/13/13 because it would inconvenience all of the other customers that need to use the ATM. I called back on Friday evening 12/13/13 and spoke to [redacted] and he refused to put me through to his supervisor and told me that he is the only person I would speak to because he is handling the matter. He was extremely rude and inconsiderate to the the fact that I needed my funds to be available as soon as possible. I spoke to [redacted] this morning on 12/14/13 and she was not competent enough to answer any of my questions. I escalated the call to [redacted] a supervisor who refused to answer my questions thoroughly. She also refused to credit my account. Everyone I have spoken to refused to expedite my issue. I am less $600. I was falsely assured that I would not be charged any fees but there are fees accessed to my account. I am going to close my account immediately after this issue is resolved. There are no retention efforts. There is poor customer service. Nothing has been done to help me. I keep being addressed with hypothetical scenarios as if I am fabricating my issue. PNC Bank is not a bank to do business with. There is poor and slow effort being put forth to get me my funds back. [redacted] also mentioned that my account will not be credited to fees until the investigation is done. This is weak and pathetic customer service.Desired Settlement: I want my account credited for the discrepancy and all of the fees associated with it. I want PNC Bank to show me retention efforts in order to retain me as a customer.

Regards,

I paid off my Motorhome 27 days ago and have not received the title, I am losing my buyer. and no one at PNC can do anything to help me. I have spent about 8 hours of my life on the phone with PNC. Calling into customer service is a 45 minute wait time. The last 10 days I have been in the escalation department and the wait time is better, they said 6 days ago I was told it was going to be overnighted because of all of their mistakes, then I was told it was sent certified, then I was told it was put in the mail. They say it's an original document and they don't have a copy so I have to wait another 10 days... I am on the phone now with them. WOWWWW this is unbelievable.

PNC bought our mortgage from another company. They have the WORST customer service!!! It took them 9 months of making us jump through hoops like dogs to modify our loan. Then, when we decided to short-sale, we have been raked over the coals. Our first contract fell through because PNC took so long to approve the sale, the buyers backed out. Now we have another contract. It has been 90 days, and we still do not have an answer. Wait - it gets better! PNC came back with a counter-offer that was LESS than the buyers offer!! It is very obvious that PNC is being "run" by a bunch of people who do not communicate with each other. Ever. We would NEVER go through PNC again!!

I took a homeless gentleman, who does his banking through PNC into the Linden branch in [redacted] Ohio yesterday. This gentleman had just had his wallet stolen in the shelter where he currently resides. He is elderly and disabled. A branch financial sales consultant, Deantoine N[redacted] saw that he was very distraught, when the gentleman became boisterous with the bank tellers. Mr. N[redacted] defused the situation immediately. He treated this gentleman with compassion and respect. He resolved all of his immediate needs within a few minutes, accepting the temporary ID given to the gentleman by a local medical facility, because he was familiar with him from the bank. I wanted to share my admiration for this PNC employee. I hope this note gets to the appropriate people. I did send a letter to Mr. N[redacted] directly. Thank you for your time.

Review: I was told that PNC would mail out a check to me. This is a check that they were not able to process because they closed my account. I have been waiting for three weeks to receive money. Right now, I am unemployed and really need this money.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Finish the job

I just want my money.

PNC Bank, N.A. responded to Mr. [redacted] on November 16, 2015, and considers this matter

Review: I received a postal money order from a secret shopper online. I took money order to my bank to deposit. [redacted] assisted me and put money order in account she didn't explain to me to process of checks of money orders being deposited efficiently. If it was explained correctly I believe I could have caught the bad money order or scam I was set up in. Now I'm trying to get help and that same location is telling me there is nothing they can do for me. Telling me that I shouldn't have took the money out of the bank. [redacted] told me the money would be available the next day to withdraw but that was not truth. I actually received another money order from secret shopper and took it to another PNC location manager and they told me that it shouldn't have went through and that whomever helped me should be fired. I don't know what is the process banks go through to clear checks or money orders but I believe the process was not fully complete for the money order. I lost all my money and now have to pay over draft over $200 and additional fees that I have no money for. I am a victim of a scam and need help and my bank could have helped me not end up in this situation if they process was fully completed in the time I was told.Desired Settlement: I just would like PNC to clear the fees so I can continue to use them in the future and my money back from scam artist.

Review: PNC ordered an appraisal on my home/land for a home equity loan (renewal). I was denied because of lack of sufficient equity. What I do not understand is why the bank:1. valued the first 5 acres of my land at full value while valuing the remainder of my land at 50% value as "excess" and "unused". I operate/own a horse stable and what isn't used by horses is growing hay for the stable.2. The second "outbuilding" on our property is a CoverAll indoor riding arena that cost us $140,000 to build and the appraiser only gave us $20,000 value for it. Farms need barns for storage of crops, equipment, and animals. This is a working farm.Similar land sales show vacant land selling at and in excess of $10,000 per acre for tracts of land of similar size as mine. So why do I not get credit for the full land value on my appraisal? And why do I not get adequate value for my 2nd "outbuilding"?Desired Settlement: My original home equity loan expired last month after 10 years. I was told it would roll over into a conventional loan that I would be required to pay off. I was told not to worry about it because I could apply for another home equity loan and get it to wrap the original loan. This is what I was trying to do. For years my minimum payment was about $439 but I elected to pay between $750 and $1,000. Now the bank has rejected my application and is requiring $1,700 a month! This is no good!!!!

Business

Response:

PNC has attempted to reach the customer unsuccessfully and will be writing a letter to the customer to address his concerns. At this point, the loan application is unable to be approved due to the loan to value ratio.

--[redacted] 7/9/14

Consumer

Response:

PNC deliberately disregarded an apprpriate value of 35 acres of land and only valued my "outbuilding" that I spent $140,000 to build for only $10,000. A fair and "uniform" appraisal needs to use honest numbers!

Review: I have repeatedly contacted PNC about either setting my accounts up so that they are never charged overdraft fees, meaning if there is not sufficient funds a transaction is declined. I've spent hours on the phone and online, and heard promise after promise. My request was that I either want my accounts set up this way or closed. Today I logged in to check my account balance and to my complete shock, an account that I do not use often, and therefore do not check as often as my primary account, has a negative balance of $406.00!!! I have been charged $7.00 a day for the past week or so, a $21 fee here, another $36 fee there. I'm fed up with trying to communicate simple requests to PNC. Their customer records also are incorrect. I opened my PNC account in 2003 in [redacted], PA - they have me on record as being a customer since 2008. I say all THAT to say, I've been a loyal customer for more than ten years and they don't recognize or acknowlege that, not to mention any other information they may have wrong.Desired Settlement: I want the fees refunded and I think the account closed. I've tried working with PNC to keep the account open, but I feel they're only interested in keeping me a customer in order to charge me fees and rob me blind.

Response:

PNC has contacted the customer and provided resolution to the complaint.

Review: I opened a new PNC account back in December. Two business days after opening the account I received an email telling me I can earn up to three hundred dollars by opening an account. I thought it was strange they would email this to me after I already opened my account. I called the PNC employee who opened my account to ask if I qualify for this promotion and she said yes. After the promotion period ended I called to make sure I met all the qualification and left a voicemail. She emailed me back and told me that I do not qualify for the promotion. I was extremely upset and angry that 1 they are sending me promotions that do not apply and 2 she told me I would receive the promotion and is now saying I cannot receive it. I went into the branch the follow business day (Monday) and talked to an Assistant Manager. We went over my account and I showed her how I met all the qualification and she told me she would look into it and get back to me that day. She called that afternoon and said she was still working on it and would get back to me. When I didn't hear anything back by Friday I stopped by the branch again. I met with the Assistant Manager and she said she talked with her Manager and she said she felt confident she would be able to give me the promotion. The Assistant Manager went on to tell me what the credit will look like and that she would get back to me soon when she heard back from the manager. When I left I felt confident I was receiving the promo. Well I didn't hear anything for a week and a half I sent her an email asking what the status was. She emailed me back saying I was not going to receive the promo. So first they emailed me a promo that didn't apply to me, said I would receive the promo then said no when the time came to pay out the funds. Then a manager looked into it said she felt confident I would receive it and then said no. Therefore I was lied to three time (email, employee, manager) and this has taken three weeks to resolve.Desired Settlement: I just want the 200 dollars they said I would receive. I did my part of the agreement by meeting the qualification. I would just like them to follow through on their part of the agreement.

Review: my account number at PNC is xxxxxx3021

my account IS NOT set up for overdraft.

A payment of $40 came up without sufficient balance. PNC was supposed to reject it and fine me a one time "returned item fee"

Instead, they paid the $40, fined me a one time fee and a daily fee that goes up to 14 days.

I had a chat session with customer service. They offered to close my account.Desired Settlement: simply what they were supposed to do in the first place: refuse to pay the item and fine me a returned item fee.

They need to recall all the charges made afterwards

Review: PMI CHARGE ON EXISTING MORTGAGE.

WE PURCHASED A HOME AT [redacted] THE ORIGIANL MORTGAGE WAS SERVICED THROUGH [redacted] BANK. THE CONTRACT EXPLAINED THAT IF THERE WAS OVER 20% EQUITY IN THE HOME THEN THERE WAS NO NEED TO HAVE PMI, THE BANK REQUIRED A WRITTEN REQUEST FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE PMI. PRIOR TO CLOSING ON THE HOME ON 11/10/15, WE KNEW WE HAD OVER 20% EQUITY IN THE HOME BETWEEN THE APPRAISAL ( SALES COMPARISON APPROACH APPRAISAL VALUE OF $240,000; COST APPROACH APPRAISAL $245,260) AND THE $10,000 DOWN PAYMENT WE PLACED. THE ABOVE APPRAISAL WAS PERFORMED ON 10/01/2015 BY A [redacted] BANK APPRASOR. WE SPOKE TO [redacted], THE [redacted] BANK CONTACT ABOUT THE REMOVAL OF THE PMI PRIOR TO OUR 11/10/2015 CLOSING DATE, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PMI WOULD BE REMOVED. AT CLOSING, THE PMI WAS STILL LISTED IN THE MONTHLY PAYMENT. THE RULES FOR REMOVAL OF THE PMI WERE CLEARLY DOCUMENTED, AND A WRITTEN REQUEST FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE PMI WAS HANDED IN JUST AFTER CLOSING ON 11/10/2015 TO THE [redacted] BANK, [redacted] BRANCH. WE WERE TOLD THAT [redacted] WOULD CONTINUE TO LOOK INTO WHY THE PMI WAS NOT REMOVED YET. THE FOLLOWING WEEK, WE WERE TOLD TO CONTACT PNC MORTAGE BECAUSE OUR MORTGAGE HAD BEEN SOLD TO PNC MORTGAGE, AND [redacted] HAD BEEN PROMOTED THROUGH [redacted] BANK, SO HE WAS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. ON 12/15/15, I CONTACTED PNC MORTGAGE ABOUT THE REMOVAL OF THE PMI, AND WAS TOLD THAT A CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSOCIATE WOULD LOOK INTO THE REMOVAL OF THE PMI. I EXPLAINED THAT I WAS GOING TO PAY THE FIRST MONTH MORTGAGE PAYMENT OF $1559.09, AND EXPECTED THE PMI AMOUNT OF $98.17 BE SUBMITTED TOWARDS THE PRINCIPAL. I EXPLAINED THAT I WOULD NOT WAIT FOR THE REVIEW OF THE CASE BECAUSE I DID NOT WANT TO INCURE A LATE FEE CHARGE. TWO WEEKS LATER, WE RECIEVED NOTICE THAT PNC WANTS US TO PAY THEM $500 FOR ONE OF THEIR APPRAISERS TO COME OUT AND RE-APPRAISE THE HOME TO SEE IF WE STILL HAVE THE 20% EQUITY. I TOLD THEM THAT I AM NOT PAYING AGAIN TO HAVE THE HOUSE RE-APPRAISED. THE LAST APPRAISAL WAS WITHIN A MONTH, AND WHEN THEY PURCHASED THE MORTGAGE, THEY PURCHASED THE CONTRACT. THE CONTRACT STATES THAT THE PMI CAN BE REMOVED IF THERE IS 20% EQUITY IN THE HOME; WHICH WE HAVE. WE SUBMITTED VERBAL AND WRITTEN REQUESTS FOR THE PMI TO BE REMOVED. I FEEL AS THOUGH BECAUSE OUR ORIGINAL BANK REPRESENTATIVE WAS PROMOTED, AND THE MORTGAGE WAS SOLD SO FAST TO ANOTHER COMPANY, SOMEONE DROPPED THE BALL AND DID NOT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE REMOVAL OF THE PMI. I FEEL AS THOUGH WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO HAVE ANOTHER APPRAISAL DONE FOR $500. I FEEL AS THOUGH WE ARE BEING SCAMMED. I INFORMED PNC MORTGAGE OF MY CONCERNS AND WAS ONCE AGAIN TOLD THE CASE WOULD BE REVIEWED. IT HAS BEEN SINCE 11/10/2015 SINCE WRITEEN REQUEST FOR PMI REMOVAL WAS SUBMITTED TO [redacted] BANK, AND OVER A MONTH SINCE OUR REQUESTS WERE EXPRESSED TO PNC MORTGAGE. WE ARE LOOKING AT ANOTHER MONTHLY PAYMENT DUE AND ANOTHER PMI PAYMENT DUE. THIS IS NOT FAIR. THE $98.17 PMI CHARGE SHOULD BE REMOVED, AND THE JANUARY (AND POSSIBLY FEB. PAYMENT IF SUBMITTED BEFORE THIS MESS IS STRAIGHTENED OUT) SHOULD BE CREDITED TO THE PRINCIPAL OF THE LOAN.Desired Settlement: REMOVAL OF PMI ASAP.

CREDIT OF PMI PAID TOWARDS PNC MORTGAGE PAYMENTS THAT HAVE INCURED SINCE THIS COMPLAINT WAS SUBMITTED. ANY PMI PAYMENTS FROM 1/1/16 SHOULD BE ADJUSTED TO BE PAID TOWARDS THE PRINCIPAL LOAN VALUE. WE ARE NOT PAYING FOR ANOTHER BANK'S APPRAISOR TO COME OUT FOR $500 BECAUSE SOMEONE DID NOT DO THEIR JOB PROPERLY, AND THE LOAN WAS SOLD TO ANOTHER COMPANY SO FAST. OUR RIGHT AND GROUNDS FOR PMI REMOVAL IS STATED IN THE CONTRACT. WE ARE JUST ASKING FOR OUR CONTRACT TO BE CARRRIED O

Review: On October 22nd I checked my account on line and everything was in the plus column , on October 23rd I checked the account and everything was still in the positive column but my account showed two charges on the debit card pending that after they were put thru it would put my account over , so I went to the branch and deposited $200.00 cash , balance on account still in the positive column charges still pending . on the 24th I was charged $36.00 for over/draft on my account that was never negative ? so I called pittsburg main office and got no answer . I was told even though nothing never over/drafted they said it would have with the debit card charges , {that were covered with the $200.00 cash deposit} , I have not got my $36.00 back and p n c refuses to do so . I removed the over/draft protection to prevent this from happening , if the money is not there they are not allowed to let the debit card charge happen . this is just another bad practice of p n c bank to attempt to backdoor a bogus charge . my account was never negative? I want my money back. I am in the process of switching banks but in the meantime I need them to put my money back into my account .Desired Settlement: put the $36.00 back into account, that should have never been charged .

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: I am writing to document a complaint related to the offer to become a new customer and receive $300. I have spoken to several individuals at my local branch at [redacted]. I have deposited $5,000 and opened an account. I also had direct deposit started and am paying my [redacted] bill from this account. During this process, I had a lot of trouble with the online services working to open the new account. I finally had to go to the branch. This created a delay in being able to establish my direct deposit as I did not want an account that was not usable online as I do most of my banking by the internet. I made several calls to support before being told that I would need to go locally.Desired Settlement: PNC should recognize their website issues and understand that a customer would require the Internet account to be functioning completely before starting a payroll deposit or a bill pay. I would like to stay a customer at PNC since it is very close to my home. I am looking for the promised $300 for opening the new account and following up with the payroll deposit and bill pay. I also wish to receive an apology for their lack of follow through and customer service.

Review: I accidentally deposited a check that had my ex wifes name on it to pnc bank [redacted] location the teller did not pay attention to the joint check name and deposited the tax return check into my account. When I realized what happened I tried to get the check back but the bank manager refused to do so saying the check went to there processing center. The teller and manager tried to make me the one at fault because now I can't get a new check issued and the bank won't return the check or release the $4,489.63 to me as there is a hold on the check The bank manager has lied to my face putting the blame on me when in fact the teller and the manager did not follow pnc rules and I have waited almost 2 weeks with no help from the branch or pnc head quarters. I'm in the process of talking with a lawyer to sue pnc for amount owed to me court cost lawyer fee and other damages. As a result of this issue pnc has lost 32 accounts in 3 days and more will be comingDesired Settlement: $4499.63 or if it has to go to court. Review: PNC has sent numerous collections agencies after me, changing from one to another when I seek verification of this alleged debt, with none substantiating it as mine and all the while reporting open collections against my credit (and causing harmful impact to my employment). I do not now, nor have I ever done business with PNC.Desired Settlement: They need to remove this collections mark from my credit, substantiate that this debt is mine - if they insist that it is. I have never received any communication directly from the bank that they purchased an amount from another, nor have I lost track of any debt instrument. This is NOT my account! They need to correct their records, stop harrassing me, and stop reporting collections items on my credit!

Review: We have been banking with pnc for over a year and have had no issues until this month. In July of 2015 a third party subscription charged my account multiple times and caused it to over draft multiple times as a result. We contacted the third party as well as pnc and explained the situation that we had not authorized the charges and that we spoke to the other company and they were going to refund their charges and we asked pnc to refund the over drafts. We did not file a formal dispute but we did explain the mishap to pnc and they gave us a credit back from the over drafts they charged. The following month in August we did over draw on the account and we got charged a fee, which we expected and we did not have an issue with. However, due to the order of pncs processing department they charged us FOUR extra times because they processed our account out of chronological order. We called and asked for a refund and they denied it. We called customer service who sent us to the escalation group, whom they said could assist us better, and they denied us. So we are out $144. With the lack of help from any department at pnc we decided to switch banks. We went to close out our account and the teller informed my husband that the account she was closing was our growth account. An account that we never use. She said we had pending charges in our checking so she would leave it open. The teller then closed the wrong account. We didn't realize this until Friday when we went to use our debit card only to find no funds in our account. We called pnc and she said they closed our savings instead of growth and the money that was supposed to be deposited into our account that day ($700) was "in limbo and can't be rerouted to your account until Monday" not only did pnc wrongfully charge us $144 due to,their "processors" but they have also withheld our funds for whatever reason. Weve called and nothing has been done to resolve any of our issues with this bank. Pnc told us that it wasn't the banks error it was ours.Desired Settlement: We want the 144 refunded to us and we want our check that is being withheld for unknown reasons available Monday so we no longer have to deal with this bank.

Review: My Auto loan was paid off in March 2014. I had made an extra loan payment in the amount of $709.02. PNC sent me a refund check (dated 5/19/14) which I received on 8/25/14. Not sure why it took soo long. May be they posted the check in August ??? Without paying much attention to the check date, I deposited it in my [redacted] checking account. Check was returned, because it was void, past 90 days validity period. [redacted] charged $12 service fee. I immediately contacted PNC, customer service rep said, she will reisssue the check. I waited for 6-8 weeks, never recieved the check. I contact them again, it seemed that, they had never reissued the check. Requested to talk to supervisor, they connected me to [redacted] (Ph# [redacted]), she promised me she will personally look into it and make sure the check is reissued. I sent her copies of check, bank statement of returned check etc. This was on 10/9/14. Haven't received my check yet. Meanwhile talk to another rep, [redacted]Ph# [redacted]), she said, she will look into it personally and take care of it. That was on 11/5/14. Review: PNC BANK ADVERTISES ITS FAMOUS VIRTUAL WALLET MOBILE APP. I AM 25 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE USED THIS APP IN THE PAST MANY TIMES. FOR THE PAST 3 OR 4 DAYS I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET TO DEPOSIT 4 CHECKS AND NONE OF THEM WERE BEING PROPERLY CAPTURED BY THE APP CAMERA (I OWN A [redacted] THAT TAKES BEAUTIFUL PICTURES, SO MY CAMERA IS NOT THE ISSUE). TWO DAYS AGO I TRIED A PNC ATM THAT DID NOT HAVE THE DEPOSIT OPTION (I WENT OUT IN THE SNOW AND ALL), YESTERDAY WE HAD ICE AND TODAY WE HAVE SNOW AGAIN SO I CANNOT GO OUT JUST TO DEPOSIT THE CHECKS. A CHECK WENT THROUGH YESTERDAY, 3/4, CAUSING MY ACCOUNT TO OVERDRAFT AND I WAS CHARGED 36$ FOR IT. I TRIED UNINSTALLING AND INSTALLING THE APP TWICE TODAY AND NOTHING WORKED SO I DECIDED TO CALL. I SPOKE WITH AN AGENT WHO TRANSFERRED ME TO A SUPERVISOR. THE SUPERVISOR MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS SOME UNEDUCATED PERSON THAT DID NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT TECHNOLOGY. SHE ASKED IF I KNEW WHAT SHE MEANT BY WALKING ME THROUGH THE STEPS TO TROUBLE SHOOT THE APP, THAT WHAT SHE MEANT WAS UNINSTALLING AND INSTALLING THE APP TO WHICH I REPLIED YES, I TOLD YOU I HAD ALREADY DONE THAT. SHE SAID SHE COULD NOT REFUND ME THE 36$ AND HONESTLY IT IS A SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY BUT IT IS INFURIATING THAT THIS HAPPENED DUE TO THE APP'S FAILED TO FUNCTION AND I SHOULD NOT BE CHARGED SUCH FEE. I WANT THE MONEY REFUNDED AND THE PROMISE OF MANAGEMENT TO BETTER TRAIN YOUR ASSOCIATES. SHE IS A SUPERVISOR AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO PROVIDE SOLUTIONS, NO ARGUE WITH THE CUSTOMER. I AM A DISTRICT MANAGER FOR DIFFERENT COMPANY AND I KNOW I WOULD NOT WANT THAT TYPE OF SERVICE GIVEN TO MY CUSTOMERS, ESPECIALLY AFTER EXPLAINING THE WEATHER CONDITIONS!Desired Settlement: I WANT THE MONEY REFUNDED AND THE PROMISE OF MANAGEMENT TO BETTER TRAIN YOUR ASSOCIATES.
