Ian came to finish up the job and make sure everything was tight and right with the damper zoning system. He stuck around and helped me test that everything was working properly, and made adjustments that were needed until it was to my satisfaction. I appreciate Ian and Polestar finishing the job the right way.

I had a very upsetting experience with pole star this last weekend. I had them install a nest thermostat at my home on 1/6/2020. With the instillation they also fixed a blown fuse on our furnace as well.
A week later water was leaking from my thermostat. I called them immediately and they tried to tell us that the original thermostat was screwed into a drain pipe and when they installed the nest thermostat they unknowingly made another hole into the drain pipe which was causing the water to leak from our brand new nest thermostat.
We never had this issue before with our old thermostat and we just we just bought this house and had a mold inspection completed which passed with flying colors.
Pole Star charged us for patching up the drain pipe. Then tried to tell us with the leak (that they caused) as well as the improperly installed fused (to high of an amp), fried our furnace circuit board and that we would need either a whole new circuit board that would only last us a couple of months because we would need a new furnace shortly after that.
They tried pushing us to make a hasty decision on getting a very expensive furnace AND AC unit. And would not listen to us that the fuse that "broke" our circuit board was installed by the same technician that installed our nest thermostat.
I received a second opinion from another company and they told me my furnace circuit board was fine and we did not need a new furnace in the near future. We just needed to have our coil cleaned out.
In summary our new nest that we had professionally installed has water damage and we can not use any longer, we were charged for the pipe repair that they caused, AND our furnace was misdiagnosed. We are out several hundred dollars.
I would not be using pole star's services ever again and I will not recommend them to anyone either.

Great value pricing, honest, processional, they have a service plan to give us peace of mind that our home AC,furnace and plumbing are operating,functional at their very best. The plan also allows us to have priority scheduling. All around an awesome plumbing,heating & air conditioning company where the customer's comfort come first. Great company with very helpful and knowledgeable staff! They are really good about getting you in the same day you call and are very thorough in all stages of the job process. They arrived when they said they would and gave me a heads up before they came to my home. Everything went smoothly and they even called back to check in on my experience after the job was complete. Would definitely recommend!

Worst experience ever! Do not hire these guys!!Danny the field supervisor is absolutely horrible. He misdiagnosed the problem on a Wednesday, and then instead of just admitting to the error and giving us a new estimate he kept arguing with us and his crew that at any moment the pipe was going to turn and go out the front of the house. He continued to argue this even when we were all telling him that it was almost to the wall out back. Mind you he did all this arguing without ever showing back up to the house. He told us 9-10 times over the course of the job that he would be over later that day, early the next morning, etc and never showed up and never called to say he wasn’t going to show up. And he NEVER provided us a bill.
I called and complained the following Monday about his argumentative attitude, lack of showing up, respect for our time, and lack of billing. I spoke to Nathan (the service manager) who assured me he would take care of and correct everything. That did not happen at all, Danny kept not showing up, not providing a bill and arguing with us and his crew that we were all wrong and we needed to do twice the work that was required. Even though we could clearly see on the video that the pipes outside in the backyard were fine.
With this I called again to speak to a manager, I was told they were all in a meeting and would call me back shortly. No one ever called. So several hours later I made a lengthy comment on their Facebook page hoping to get someones attention and a phone call back. Nothing, they could not be bothered to respond.
So I showed up, surprise spur of the moment visit, at their office the next morning to speak to them in person. I spoke again to Nathan and to Steve (Marketing Manager)At this point they started taking me seriously and sent out a new field supervisor and sent us a bill later on. An hour after that meeting I went on Facebook to remove my post, as it had not accomplished its task and I felt my visit did. But to my surprise it had been deleted by the company! My guess would be Steve. This is shady and shows a huge lack of integrity. We would never do that in my business, you respond you don’t delete!
I then thought all went well. The rest of the guys were great, but as it turned out they are not good at their job. When the general contractor showed up to do his work they found Polestar’s work to be beyond shoddy. Lines are not level, they are not all placed the same, there are no shut off valves for the bathroom plumbing and the drain for the bathtub was not only not deep enough it was not installed correctly and cemented too close. The contractor had to call another plumber and it took them 5 hours to get a fix in place. This required digging out cement and then doing some crazy plumbing to avoid having to rip the whole thing out and redoing it. They also found lines that were starting to leak slightly and repaired those. Mind you Polestar just finished this work 3-4 weeks before the contractor discovered the issues.
They also installed a sewer clean out so incorrectly that it is not flush with the wall, and can not be covered with a wall utility door because that would make the hall legally too narrow. The only way to correct this is to tear it out, jack the floor back up, tear out some of that piping, replace it all correctly and re-cement and re-dry wall. Can’t afford that after all the other expenses.
Both gentlemen (the contractor and other plumber) and our project manager (all separate companies and not connected to each other in anyway) said it was some of the sloppiest, shoddiest work they had seen in a long time, and mentioned that they would never contract with Polestar based on the job they did for us.
Fingers crossed they did a better job on all the sewer piping they cemented over or we will be leaking again in no time.
Polestar made a bad experience (sewer in the basement) 100 times worse with their lack of integrity, respect, billing, horrible customer service and shoddy work. Save your money, time and headaches and hire anyone but Polestar.

We needed our HVAC checked out and Doug was able to find out we had some parts warranty left on our equipment and repair for a reasonable price. We will definitely continue to use Polestar!!

I decided to use Polestar to unclog the mainline, as it was not draining properly. They had decent reviews so I trusted they would provide an honest service and recommendations. While they tried to quickly unclog the pipe (only was onsite for 45 minutes), he was unsuccessful. Without attempting to try again or use alternative methods, we were told the entire mainline had to be dug up and replaced, as the clog was impossible to fix (quoted at minimum $3,500). Luckily the property has main line insurance, so the adjuster came out to review the damages and sent out one of their plumbing partners. The plumber arrived and reviewed it with a camera, finding the clog to be minimal and easily fixed by snaking the line. Within minutes, the line was open and water flowing. NO REPLACEMENT NEEDED! Im thankful for the insurance, as they about stole $3,500 right from under us for a simple unclogging. They also charged $180 and did absolutely nothing! Even larger companies then them charge half that for unclogging and they guarantee it will be unclogged or its free! I have now called their office 3 times to speak with someone. Each time blown off without a callback. I have been nothing but professional this last week and I have been treated like crap. All I want is a refund for something nobody should be charge for. The integrity of this business is gone.

They were quick, easy, and most importantly, honest and friendly. I needed a sump pump installed in an emergency and they did it the next day. Couldn’t have asked for better service. Josie (I think that’s how you spell it?) was patient in explaining everything to me and answering my questions.

Earlier in February, our furnace went out. We needed help ASAP. A friend recommended Polestar and they replaced it quickly and for a good price. Their technician Doug was really nice and as far as I know, did a great job! We haven’t had any trouble since and are satisfied customers!
