Positive Changes Hypnosis Centers Reviews (58)

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Sincerely, [redacted]

Dear **,We received your complaint from the Revdex.com and are sorry to hear you were unable to attain your weight loss goal. We care about you and are committed to resolving your concerns. The attached signed guarantee states; “We are committed to help you obtain the results that you...

want. We will support you 100% through your program. Your success is our top priority and we will not give up on you.” When you purchased your program you signed our program guarantee that states “If at your FIRST program session you are not satisfied, we will refund 100% of your money, as long as you let us know before you leave our offices.” Our records show that you did not exercise this no-risk guarantee.
A review of your file shows that you enrolled in a nine month weight loss program with Positive Changes on October 31st, 2015. You attended your first hypnosis session on November 2nd 2015. Our records indicate that you have completed your nine month program; your last two sessions were mailed to you at your request. Hypnosis is designed to first help with changing behaviors so that the weight loss can follow. In review, it seems that you were on a good path to reaching the weight loss goal you desired. While following the program, you reported many behavioral changes to your hypnotists and coaches. You stated that you were drinking more water, increasing your exercise, making better food choices, smaller portions and losing weight. In April you discussed with the center manager that you were not satisfied with your results. In addition to your program, we gifted you three hypnosis sessions, three coaching sessions and six hypnotic accelerations, to help support you in reaching your weight loss goal. In June you mentioned you loved your program and was experiencing successes including increased self-confidence.
We have an excellent record of helping our clients achieving success. We cannot ethically guarantee human behavior, but we do guarantee that we will support our clients throughout their program. We have been here to help support you in your weight loss journey since you started your program as agreed upon in our program guarantee. As part of your program you received all the tools you need to be successful in reaching your weight loss goal. We would encourage you to use these resources to ensure future success and as an alumni client you are welcome to return for additional support and guidance.
We sincerely wish you well in the pursuit of your weight loss goals.Respectfully,LaDonna K[redacted]Client Care Coordinator Positive Changes HypnosisPhone 509-624-5242 Ext [redacted]Toll Free 800-203-2493 Ext[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
I followed the Positive Changes Hypnosis program and did not lose weight. In fact, I gained weight.
Initially, I was seeking some amount of refund from Positive Changes Hypnosis. I am no longer seeking any reimbursement. Rather I want to provide my experience for others who may be considering Positive Changes Hypnosis for weight loss.
In the response from Positive Changes Hypnosis, a statement was made that weight loss could not be guaranteed because it would be unethical. My view is that Positive Changes Hypnosis advertises great success stories with weight loss and based on their advertisements, if a successful outcome in weight loss is not achieved AND Positive Changes Hypnosis does not provide some remedy for the lack of success (in refund or termination of the membership) the business is in fact unethical.
My experience with Positive Changes Hypnosis is a case in point. I was told I needed a 9 month program (after an hour conversation). 5 months later, I wanted to quit because I wasn't losing weight, I was gaining weight. The counselor said I hadn't been going long enough, to hang in there, and I would see results. Within a few weeks, I spoke to one of the managers because I wanted to leave the program. She was tearful in her reaction about me leaving the program and said that she promised I would see results. She devised an arrangement where I would be placed with a specific counselor who would focus on my progress and whom she knew was the best the organization had to offer, and with whom I would have success.
The end result of my experience was that I continued to make the half hour drive to the facility to attend classes and meetings for a year. I worked with the hypnotists and followed the regimen listening to my personal tapes (as well as purchasing other tapes and some that were gifted to me). But, I didn't lose any weight. I believed I was a great candidate for the program because I genuinely followed the regimen and I had a strong desire to lose weight.
This is what I believe the general public needs to know about Positive Changes Hypnosis: Clients are required to pay for the entire program (in my case $2827.00) before it is known whether the program will work for them or not.  Positive Changes Hypnosis will refund your money but only before attending the first program event. At this juncture, a person does not have enough information about the program to know whether the program will work for them. Reading about the program is not enough. If the decision is made to use the services of Positive Changes Hypnosis, and the client wishes to leave the program, the client needs to be postured for emotional tactics and not be persuaded. Positive Changes Hypnosis should respect the clients' decision to terminate their program and provide some restitution for any remaining time prepaid.
Positive Changes Hypnosis cannot predict the time frame an individual will take to lose an amount of weight on their program. Consequently, Positive Changes Hypnosis should consider offering monthly plans or a 90-day plan or provide an option for longer plans wherein a client can opt out, say after 60 or 90 days. This would allow a client enough time to make a fair assessment about the program and whether the program is working for them.
The business model Positive Changes Hypnosis uses in requiring up front payments and long term plans, inures to their benefit. But, Positive Changes Hypnosis does not provide interim solutions when their method is not successful. At least, no options were offered to me.  I realize that what I'm proposing as a solution (shorter duration plans, opting out after 60-90 days) will provide an easier out for the client and potentially less revenue to Positive Changes Hypnosis. However, in my view, this would provide ethical options to unsuspecting individuals who do not get the positive result they seek from the services of Positive Changes Hypnosis.

Revdex.com,I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Their offer is no different than the one they gave me which led to me filing this complaint.  I did not finish the additional  sessions offered to me because I had reached a point of exhaustion and frustration with the service not providing me the results they stated they could provide within the 6 months.  At the point I chose to stop going to scheduled classes and sessions I was well past the 6th month mark and I told the staff at Positive Changes that I would not be attending any of the sessions that were already scheduled as "extra" because I had not lost a single pound in 7.5 months.  I get that Positive Changes cannot predict human behavior and they do not guarantee a client's success.  But then why tell me that their services will help me lose weight?  If I had lost any weight at all then I might not feel that I was duped.  But I was very specific in what my issues were that led to the weight gain and I asked the staff at Positive Changes if their services would help me lose weight and they said "Yes".  So what am I to do?  $500 does not come close to the $2277 program fee and $330 additional for the glasses and special topic CDs.  And the statement that I was given 2 free CDs is incorrect.  I brought in 2 that were not opened and I wanted to return them but the staff convinced me to swap them for 2 different recordings when I had already paid for the first 2.   I would like the entire program fee refunded and I will return the $330 worth of additional items for the refund of the $330.Regards,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:I requested a refund immediately after my 1st session, not because I still wanted to smoke, but because the service was not up to the standard that was promised. I have been hypnotized before and I know how I am supposed to feel coming out of it, if it is done correctly. I was told, after my 1st session that I couldn't receive a refund and that I should come in for another session. It was ONLY because I was told I couldn't receive a refund and I didn't want to dump 500.00 down the drain, that I agreed to another session. I didn't agree to another session because I thought it would work and because I think that I got such great service or sessions from Positive Changes. My second session was supposed to be more in-depth and longer than the 1st one. Instead, I received a shorter session. This does not seemed like the quality support I should have received. I received a cd from headquarters that was a complete joke. I could hear papers shuffling in the background, she accidentally said alcohol instead of tobacco, and she didn't even use my name correctly in the cd. My name is [redacted]... she called me [redacted] for the majority of the cd. This cd never had a chance to be successful.  It was a failure on Positive Changes, not me. I only talked to the CEO for 22 minutes, not an hour. I asked for a refund and she said because I received more than one session, I couldn't get a refund. This is irritating because I DID ask for a refund after my 1st session and then was coaxed into 2 more sessions that were worse than the 1st one. I called and left a message with the trainer not because I couldn't get over the barriers I set for myself, but because I couldn't get over the barriers Positive Changes created for me through poor service and poor hypnosis sessions. I have not been given any tools to quit smoking or to be successful in this program. I wouldn't even call what I received a program at all. I was scammed.I signed a contract that stated that I understand that because my commitment and desire to become tobacco-free is outside the control of PCH, there is no guarantee for my Hypno-Quit Program and no Refund is given once I begin my program. I signed this, because my desire and commitment was there and I was expecting good service. I held up my part of the contract by being committed and having the desire to quit. PCH did not hold up there end because the sessions were of poor quality. I was told by Maria, that a person can't be hypnotized for more than 30 minutes without falling asleep and then it wouldn't work like it's supposed to.... Um. that's a lie.1000.00 in additional services is not at all true. If a cd with the wrong name, a 22 minute conversation with the CEO, and a 2nd session that was shorter than the 1st session, is considered a part of that 1000.00 of additional services, then that sentence in itself shows that PCH does not do what it takes to satisfy their customers or provide quality service. Why should I have to pay for sessions that were destined to fail before I even participated in them? The fact that I still smoke is not the issue here. I understand that I play a part in all of this too and that PCH has no control in my role in all of this, just like I have no control over their role in all of  this. I can't control the fact that I went into this with an open mind and received the worst sessions that a person could probably get and that I literally got scammed out of 500.00.I just want my money back. I shouldn't have to fight this hard and feel this taken advantage of for something I paid good money for. PCH charges the most amount of money for their quit smoking sessions and have the poorest quality of service. If PCH is willing to refund their other failed programs, such as their weight-loss programs, or programs for depression, self-esteem, etc.. they should be able to back their Hypno-Quit program up as well. If they can't refund people's money when the people feel they deserve the refund, then they shouldn't do the Quit Smoking sessions. All sessions for all reasons should be able to be refunded if the person isn't happy due to the poor quality of services they receive from PCH. I shouldn't have to fight this hard about it. My entire experience with PCH has been a nightmare. I have chosen to take an active step towards pursuing other options because there are better options out there. Ones that guarantee their sessions, give refunds if they provide poor service (which I'm sure they don't), and hypnotize a person for more than 25-35 minutes. They also use the person's name correctly and they charge a lot less. I strongly disagree with the Businesses' decision to not refund my money. I wanted a refund from the very 1st session and wanted a refund even more, the more sessions I received and was coaxed into. Each session after the 1st one became exceedingly worse than the one before it. I would hardly call this "additional services and support".Sincerely,[redacted]

Case #: [redacted]

Dear Ms. [redacted],
We are very sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the program. You purchased a 1 session Hypno-Quit program on April 16, 2015.  The program you purchased comes with the understanding that we cannot ethically...

guarantee human behavior. You singed the commitment document stating that you were committed to becoming tobacco-free. The commitment states;  “I understood that because my commitment and desire to become tobacco-free is outside of your control, there is no guarantee for my Hypno-Quit Program and no refund given once I begin my program.” You were not eligible for a refund on your program because you had already completed your Hypno-Quit Session.
You mentioned in your letter that your insurance does not cover our programs. We are sorry to hear this. There are some insurance companies that do reimburse clients for the services provided however; this greatly depends on your insurance company and the policy that you are enrolled in.
Since we care about our clients and want to support you in becoming tobacco free, we would like to offer you another Hypno-Quit Session at no charge. If you choose to accept this offer, please contact the Bellevue center General Manager, [redacted]. She will be happy to schedule a session for you. We wish you the best in your efforts to become tobacco free and hope you will allow us to continue to help you.

Sincerely,
[redacted]

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Sincerely, [redacted]

Dear Mrs. [redacted],We received your complaint from the Revdex.com and are sorry to hear that you are not yet tobacco free. We care about you and are committed to resolving your concerns.
We have an excellent record of helping our clients achieve success. We cannot ethically guarantee...

human behavior, but we do guarantee that we will support our clients throughout their program. We have been here to help support you in your desire to be smoke free since you started your program, as agreed upon in our program guarantee. Our product is habit and behavior modification. We help people to make changes from one habitual behavior that they do not want, to another behavior that they do want. The personalized programs that we use include hypnosis as a tool. These services have assisted thousands of clients to successfully quit smoking.
You enrolled in our 1 session Hypno Quit program on August 20th 2016. When you purchased your program you signed a commitment that says; success using hypnosis is dependent upon many variables including attitude, motivation, cooperation and attendance of scheduled sessions by the participant. In addition, we state, “Because your commitment and desire to become tobacco free is outside of our control, there is no guarantee and/or refunds offered for this program.” (Please see attached copy of your signed commitment).
A review of your file shows that we did provide the services we promised.  You completed your first session on August 26th. Following your hypnosis session you expressed that you still had the desire for a cigarette.  Because it is important to us that you find success, we offered you additional support and you attended a second session in the center on September 3rd. Several days later you contacted the center manager stating you were still struggling. We don’t give up on our clients so we offered you another hypnosis session. This forty minute hypnosis process was recorded and mailed to you.
Following an hour long conversation with our CEO on December 7th it was agreed that you would be contacted by the corporate hypnotist trainer to provide you with additional support. You were contacted by the corporate trainer on December 8th. This one hour communication with him appeared to go well and you agreed that he provide you with an additional hypnosis session to help you reach your goal. An appointment was scheduled for December 13th.On the evening of December 8th you left a voice message for the corporate trainer saying you did not want to proceed. You said that you could not get over the barriers you had set up for yourself and you would explore other options to quit smoking.
You have made the active choice to not move forward.
Since completing your program, you have received approximately $1000.00 of extra support and services. As part of your program you received all the tools you need to be successful in reaching your goal of being a non-smoker. We would encourage you to use these resources to ensure future success. We sincerely wish you well.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:

Dear[redacted],
I must start by saying I would never have paid close to $3000.00 if I wasn't serious about wanting to lose the weight. From day one, I cried in the office and stated that I want to live. I also explained how I fear if I don't do something I will end up dying from my obesity. I also stressed the depression my being over weight has caused. I have repeatedly told everyone who would listen that I have little will power when it comes to my food addiction. That's why I called your company! I was told that I was in the right place, and that following the program would change my thinking.
With that said, I was more then willing to do whatever your establishment instructed me to do. I listened to the personal sessions three times a day, and traveled more than three hours (back and forth) for the classes and accelerations. I tried to internalize everything after each sesson and spent many extra hours listening to the tapes, trying to change my thinking. But I never seemed to have any less cravings for the food that caused me to gain the weight in the first place. I would continually tell my counselor and hypnotherapist I was still craving foods like ice cream and pizza, and was instructed that I was allowed to eat whatever I was craving.
I was also advised that by continuing to listen to the sessions I would start craving healthier foods (fruits, vegetables, etc). I often told my counselors that I would buy produce and fill my refrigerator with what the classes told me to purchase but was never eating any of it because it didn't look appealing...my mentality hadn't shifted. Their advice, as aways, was to keep listening to my personal sessions and I would eventually start to crave them. Well again, that never happened.
I always did exactly as I was instructed, with fervor! I wanted this to work so much! However, despite our efforts, I have not seen a single pound lost. In fact, all I have seen is a steady slow increase in weight. When I would talk to the counselors I would always just get a smile and a 'hang in there, it will happen'. It never did! I even gave it an extra month of full blown effort and still, no change in my mentality. Again I came into your facility claiming I had little willpower and an extreme food addiction and you said you could help me. Now it hasn't worked and instead of trying to meet me in the middle, here, you are blaming me for not changing! You are claiming a part of me must not have wanted it. I find that offensive.
It seems extremely easy to place the blame on me rather then to take any of the responsibility. We knew I had an eating disorder from day one and when it was time to take my money you said you could help me with that!! After the better part of a year, and weight gained, I think it's time for me to try something new and I don't think that means I didn't want to lose weight. Merely that you did not help me with the things I clearly explained I needed help with. I think that warrants a refund but I guess that will only happen if you are willing to meet me in the middle.
Sincerely,[redacted]

I am pleased to share my experience with the Positive Changes Hypnosis Center in Spokane, WA. The staff has been a perfect balance of professional, inspirational, caring and fun. I have lost 30 pounds using their program, but what I have gained is even more impressive. I have gained a sense of self-acceptance, confidence, and enthusiasm for a healthier life-style. I would recommend their services to anyone who is interested in taking responsibility for improving the quality of their life.

Positive Changes is a hoax as far as helping a person quit smoking. I don't think there is a Hypnotist in the building. All they did was put dark glasses with colored flashing lights around the edge and ear phones with a preson sitting there reading from a piece of paper saying over and over " You are a non-smoker, you are a clean air breather. That's it! This is a really good way to waste $800. A friend and I both went through this hoax and we both get mad every time we saw Positive Changes ads on tv.
In my opinion there should be a law controlling businesses that prey on people's weaknesses like this outfit does.

I have been with Positive changes just over a month. I wish that I would have had this opportunity to experience such an amazing program a long time ago. It is AMAZING and very easy. I experienced changes the first day. I recommend this program to everyone, it is worth its weight in GOLD. I AM EXTREMLY HAPPY WITH THIS DECISION TO TRY THIS PROGRAM. It is the best thing to happen to me in a VERY long time!

This center has wonderful customer service and highly quilified professionals. It has been nothing but a positive experience and the process it working for me, I have no doubt that I will reach my weight loss goal. I highly recommend this center and process, it's life changing

This has been a GREAT experiance....so far I have lost 38 Lbs. on my way to lose over 100 lbs. This the best way I have ever lost weight. It is so easy just
follow the very EASY plan that they have and listen to the tapes and your lifestyle changes so easy.

I went to Positive Changes May 2014. I signed up for the program and had my first session May 15. By the end of my 9 months I was down 87 pounds. I was amazed at the difference in my attitude after the first session. My energy level has shot up, my medications have been cut in 1/2, and I feel fantastic! It has been almost 2 weeks and I still feel euphoric. I still have weight to lose but know I can do it. I don't feel starved, boxed in or deprived and no prepackaged food hanging around that I just got tired of eating with another program. Plus, overall, Positive Changes was actually less expensive than the other program for the same time frame. I wish I had done this before instead of messing around with all the other crazy stuff I tried. I'm 60 years old and feel now that I will make it to at least 80. Thank you Positive Changes and your wonderful staff.

I started Positive Changes hoping to lose 20 pounds and stop the constant yo-yo weight cycle of my life. I am retiring soon and was concerned that I would gain more weight without a structured life style.
With Positive Changes I have found that I am more relaxed and less stressed. I am eating better, sleeping better, and do not crave unhealthy foods. I feel better than I have for a long time. I found a Positive path for me forever.

Positive Changes Hypnosis Center in Spokane, Washington has done what they said they would do. They helped changed my life for the positive.

I was pretty skeptical about the service but was desperate enough to give it a shot. I found staff very supportive, kind and understanding. My first week I noticed subtle changes, I'm sleeping all night!!!
