My scheduled appointment was for between and PM on Wednesday, May 4thWhen I got home early from prior appointments I expected I'd have to wait "***" called to let me know he could come by an hour early since he had finished his prior job He was exemplary - professional, knowledgeable, and trustworthy I thought my garage door motor was dying He showed me that it was actually one of the main springs on the 400+ pound door As a consequence, the motor was working harder to lift and lower the door Although I had planned to just replace the motor, I opted for a totally new unit It's quiet, powerful and will last a long time As a nurse (safety is always our priority) - I count myself lucky that [redacted] was the guy sent to my home Smart and honest - the best combination possible I recommend this company (and this employee) to anyone seeking quality repair workWhen it's your home, you want it to be safe, you want it to be a quality product and you want it installed correctly

To Whom It May Concern: We received a call from [redacted] on our recorded RCF line on 9/18/requesting service to his garage doorHis appointment was scheduled for the next afternoon; 3pm-6pm At 2:on the afternoon of 9/we attempted multiple times to contact [redacted] as it is our policy that we do not dispatch our technician until we’re able to ensure someone will be home to greet the technicianWe were never able to get in touch with [redacted] and cancelled the appointment; leaving him a message to return our call to reschedule the technician On 9/at 4:10pm we received a call from [redacted] advising that he had missed his window and wanted to rescheduleAt this time his appointment was rescheduled for 9/between 2pm – 5pm On 9/our technician arrived at [redacted] residence to perform the services requestedThe 25-point inspection was doneUpon completion of the inspection, [redacted] advised that he did not want to have the recommended service completed; he only wanted to purchase a keypad, remotes and a surge protectorAt that time [redacted] accepted the proposed service/prices, signed the invoice (#***, attached) and the technician installed the keypad and surge protector as well as programmed the remotes [redacted] provided the technician with payment via check # *** in the amount of $ Later in the same day [redacted] called the technician to advise he had put a stop payment on the check he had written to pay for the services and advised that he was able to find similar parts for a cheaper price at [redacted] ***Our technician advised [redacted] that as our parts are not builder grade, they are not available in retail stores and are non-refundablePrecision Door Service is a company that provides an in-home service and evaluation which the customer requestsPart of that is for us to go to the home which incurs labor and fuel chargesWe are not in the business of providing the same costs as a retail store [redacted] then wanted to speak to a manager On 9/the owner submitted by [redacted] Service Certified Mail, a letter stating that [redacted] had days to honor his payment or legal actions would be necessary ($postage fee) See attached The manager called [redacted] on 9/and explained the invoice and our parts costs to himAt this point [redacted] acknowledged that he understood the charges and paid the balance of the invoice via credit card over the phone to the managerThis was only the cost of service call ($390.95); not the fee the bank charged due to the stop payment on the original service date A discount has already been given to the customer in the form of the bank fee equaling $and the postage for the Certified Letter equaling $We have considered this matter closedAttached you will find the Work Order signed by [redacted] as well as the correspondence from him Warmest Regards, ***

My wife and I have used Precision door before for various problems [redacted] came yesterday and resolved the problemThe cost was zero as the door acted like there was a short or some wiring problem [redacted] took a look made a small adjustment and we discussed the possibility of replacing the door after the first of the yearNO charge and off he went on his next appointmentPrecision Door is the BEST

Impressive from the start! Called me to tell me exactly what time he would be arriving within the hour scheduled appointment Very polite, friendly and professional What's not to love about Precision Door?

To Whom It May Concern:
On 9/11/@ 11:22am we received a call from *** *** on our recorded RCF line requesting a technician come to her home because of a broken spring on her garage door which would not open and
her car was trapped inside
On 9/11/@ 12:10pm our technician went to the home of *** *** as scheduled
Upon arrival, the technician completed a 25-point inspection on the door and recommended they purchase a new door as their current sections are cracked, warped and weathered
The customer advised that she did not want to purchase a new door at this time but wanted the springs replaced so that she could still use the door in the meantime as her car was trapped inside the garage
The technician never recommended new springs on the garage door as the door needed to be replaced and that would only be a band-aid (temporary) repairThe technician noted on the invoice (Invoice #***, attached) that this would not fix their door and that their door was still unsafe to use in any way and would need to be replaced
The technician replaced both of the springs on the door at the customer’s request; advising the customer again that this is only a band-aid repair to open the door if absolutely necessaryThe technician also noted on the customers invoice that the door is still unsafe to useHe disengaged the operator so that no further damage was done to their door and left them with an estimate for a new garage door
On the morning of 9/12/*** *** called our technician advising that he did not think he needed a new door and that the technician misdiagnosed the problemHe called again later in the morning and spoke to the manager and advised he wanted us to pay for him to have a 2nd opinionWe advised him that is not our policy and the diagnosis from our certified technician standsThe door needs to be replaced; the springs are only offering a temporary solution to open the door
Later in the day, at 12:04pm *** *** called the office to advise she wanted a refund of the cost of the springs and that she was going to have another company come out in the afternoon to give a correct diagnosis. She was again told that our diagnosis stands
*** *** called our customer service center back at 2:02pm and spoke with *** advising that another company had come out she now had a functional door. She advised that she wanted a call back
At 2:15pm the manager returned the call and *** *** advised that she had purchased a new door from the other company as we had recommended
She advised that since we would not refund her the cost of the springs she would have no choice but to leave bad reviews for us as well as a Revdex.com complaint. It was then explained to her again, on a recorded line, that we would credit the cost of the springs to the replacement of the door if she chose to have us do so
We have made multiple attempts to satisfy the customerAt the time of the visit, the technician recommended that they not choose the springs but to instead order a new doorThe customer chose to have the springs installed knowing that this was a temporary fix to open the door and the door would still need to be replaced even though she didn’t want to do it this dayWe have also offered to replace the door and credit the cost of the springs to the door price even though this means that the inventory would not be able to be used again and would be a waste to our business
Our invoice is very detailed so that the consumer has all the information they need to make informed decisions regarding their garage door
I sincerely hope that this has answered any and all questions that you may have. Attached you will find the invoice which is required to be signed by the customer before any work is done

I was very pleased with my service (replacing a broken torsion spring) from Precision Garage Door***, who answered the phone was polite and helpful; and ***, my service pro, was also polite, personable, and very professional*** arrived in the service window I was given and left me with a garage door that opens and closes more smoothly and quietly than it has in years!

The business is assuming they did nothing wrong The phone call said, the cost of the replacement spring is $to $ I told her, I had only one spring on a year old house They should have brought the proper spring on the truck, if they do a a day, they should know their business and not be deceptive I did not want to pay double when it was not needed The technician said, he could install two springs which he had on his truck or he could order the larger one spring and it would be the same price He only confirmed the price as $185, as I asked He never said PER Spring or EACH He already installed it, finished the paperwork, and wanted me to pay and sign There was no signature on the work order agreement prior to work beginning Once I saw the invoice, I clearly noticed I was charged for two springs The company should refund me the extra $and learn to be more clear They should also allow the comment I posted with a one star rating to be seen by other customers It is still not showing on their site That alone, blocking any negative comments should give this company a lower rating from the Revdex.com Magically their ratings never change They have the same exact number as when I first looked at the site Mostly all star ratings as any other rating must be blocked

*** *** called our company on Tuesday July 29, to advise on a recorded line that she had a broken spring and broken cables on her Garage DoorDuring that call she was made aware that we charge an $service fee to get the technician
on-site and would also include a 25-point inspection on the door as well as any labor should they choose to have the work performed on their doorWe scheduled the call for about an hour later and the technician was dispatched to their home
The technician arrived at the home and performed the 25-point inspection on the doorHe diagnosed that the door was racked, which means the door was off the trackHe also noted that the bearings were seizing and the mechanical lift system was worn*** *** advised the technician that her husband wasn’t home and she would need to speak with him before any work could be approvedThe technician noted on the invoice that he would complete the work the next day and they would not be charged an additional fee for coming outThe customer then signed the invoice and scheduled the appointment for the next dayOn July 30, we received a call that the customer wanted to cancel the appointmentThe next day followed suit, another cancellationThey have not called back to reschedule and we have not been back out since the initial inspection on July 29,
The technician did not simply replace the cables on the door because that would not have made the door work properly and would have been very unsafe
Attached you will find the signed work order from *** *** advising the acceptance of work completed
In closing, Precision Garage Door is a Service companyWe dispatch our certified technicians with their trucks stocked to fix any door problems. Our Service Fee is to cover Fuel, General Liability, Labor, Workers Comp, etcWe charge the lowest service fee in Northern Virginia for our industry
