Premier Siding & Roofing of PA, LLC Reviews (24)

Review: I received (2) estimates to remove and replace siding on my house from Premier Siding. Both estimates state they will remove and replace old siding, After a final walk through and a Q&A with the sales person, I informed him he would have my answer within 24 hours. Upon leaving my house the sales person text my cell phone and stated they could not honor the estimates. I was informed by Premier that both estimates were written incorrectly.

[redacted] I have both copies of the estimates

Response:

Original call from [redacted]:

Review: We contracted with Premier Siding & Roofing of [redacted] to replace or roof and siding. We requested the color of the roof to be charcoal. Unfortunately, myself nor my husband was available at the time the work was initiated or completed because we were called to active duty for the US Army. Upon our return from active duty, we realized the roof was the wrong color. Initially we were told by [redacted] that our roof was ordered as charcoal and it would be replaced with no problems. After weeks of back and forth phone calls to Premier Siding & Roofing and a no show, we were told that a fax was sent to the shingle company to change the color of the shingles from charcoal to biscayne blue. This request was not signed by myself or my husband. There is no supporting documentation that shows myself or my husband requested the change. The only documentation is my original request for charcoal.Desired Settlement: Request our roof be replaced with the originally agreed upon color; charcoal.

Response:

I'll start by explaining the original, forwarded email, below. This email is from [redacted], he is the Manager at [redacted] and our Account Manager. They were our main Roofing & Siding supplier at the time we preformed work for the [redacted]'s. When [redacted] originally called the office I contacted [redacted] as well as [redacted] was her original Sales Representative (who actually works at [redacted] now) and they pulled her file to see what notes they had in there regarding [redacted]'s claim that we, and/or [redacted], had been responsible for mixing up the color of Shingles. The attached documents are straight from [redacted]'s file. There records, as well as ours, show that [redacted] changed her color at the last minute as per the note from [redacted] who changed the color at the last minute as per [redacted]'s instructions.

Also attached is a copy of her Contract, Order sheets, the [redacted] notes and a copy of the crew pay sheet which shows the date the work was done. [redacted] told [redacted] that she really wanted the new Shingles to match, or come really close, to the color of her existing/old Shingles, but she was not sure if that was possible so she picked an alternative color - Charcoal Black. . In the event she did not like the options of like colors then she wanted Charcoal Black Shingles. The only color we could offer her that was close was the Biscayne Blue. She had a difficult time making the decision of weather or not to go with the Biscayne Blue or the Charcoal. She originally chose the Charcoal Black, as you can see from the attachments, but then she called [redacted] and told him to change the color.

Before the work began (unbeknownst to Premier Siding & Roofing and/or [redacted]) the [redacted]'s claim to have both been deployed, supposedly they did not return until shortly before they contacted us in late 2013, two years after we did the work. Claiming we need to replace there roof color and that they had noone checking on there home the entire time they were gone and had no idea the "wrong color" had been put on. She demanded a new roof, I explained to her we would most definitely need to do our research and it could take some time, but we would work as quickly as we could to resolve this...we would need time to coordinate with a former Company Representative and our Supply Company. I also explained to her that the Biscayne Blue [redacted] Shingles are very nice Shingles and they are more expensive, she had also not had any problems with the roof since it was put on, I asked her to really consider her request, which was to rip off a brand new perfectly good roof, she insisted that if thats what she wanted, then thats what she would get. I told her that if we did find that WE made the mistake we would replace her roof, but it would be wiser to redo the siding on the home since the siding was old and the roof was new and the roof was just gorgeous, she did not agree and simply wanted a different, more green colored roof. She threatened our Company. [redacted] said if you do not replace my roof at no cost to me I will place a complaint with the Attorney General, the Revdex.com, and with some kind of Army organization that would supposedly protect her and make us give her her way. So far she has made an Attorney General Complaint and a Revdex.com Complaint.

The bottom line is that [redacted] and [redacted] left before the work began and did not check on it until they came home in late 2013. At that point her warranty was expired and more importantly according to the documents that I have and that [redacted] we did exactly what [redacted] requested of us. I find it hard to believe that they had noone checking on there home while they were away for long especially while they were undergoing exterior construction by a Company that they did not know personally, that is just negligent. It is difficult to believe that noone would be looking after there home for two years. They should have had someone checking in on the work, and there home, and they should have addressed this two years ago. They also defaulted on there last payment for months, there account almost went into collections which would have damaged there credit. Noone could reach them, they basically went MIA. We did not think they were going to make a final payment, one day months after the work was completed we received a payment in the mail. No communication at all from the [redacted]s from about 11/30/11 until around October 2013..

This is an odd scenario that was difficult to sort out, we tried to sort this out as quickly as possible. [redacted]'s only negotiation was to give her a new free roof and in addition to her threats this situation became very difficult to navigate. We do appreciate [redacted]'s business, very much, and are terribly disappointed at the outcome of this business transaction. We are hoping that [redacted] takes some responsibility for her negligence and also for what she specicially asked us to do for her and ultimately we feel it would be the right for her to retract her complaints. It is unfortunate that she cannot be happy, at the very least satisfied, with a brand new [redacted] Biscayne Blue roof that is simply perfectly done and only shades away from her original color. We do appreciate your time and consideration in reading our response.

Response:

First, let me address the inaccuracies of the response written by **. [redacted]. She states that there is an email attached from **. [redacted]. There is no email attached from **. [redacted], just a warehouse packing ticket, the original request for charcoal black which is scribbled out and Biscayne blue is written above it and a handwritten note that states “!please change [redacted]-ccc roof to Biscayne !Blue! C.E.C Thank you”. None of the documentation provided is documentation from myself or my husband asking to change the roof color. As [redacted] stated, she contacted **. [redacted] who was my original sales representative. I also contacted **. [redacted] and he stated that he has no recollection of the handwritten note that was faxed to [redacted] or me telling him to change the color of the roof. **. [redacted] also stated that if **. [redacted] simply returned their phone calls, they would be willing to work with her to replace our roof. She states that all records show that I, **. [redacted], changed the color at the mist minute. There is absolutely no documentation stating I changed the color of the roof. The only documentation is the handwritten note that [redacted] provided from **. [redacted]. Again, there is NO documentation signed by myself or my husband that proving requested to change the color of the roof.

**. [redacted] also states that there is a copy of the contract and crew pay sheet which shows the date the work was done. This documentation is not attached to her response.

She is accurate in the statement that I told **. [redacted] that I wanted the shingles to match the current shingles on our roof. **. [redacted] stated that the color, hunter green, was not available at the time. I am unfamiliar with the reason, but at that point, I requested the color Charcoal (see attached email), which I also forwarded to **. [redacted]. When I forwarded this email to her, she stated that she would get back to me; she never did and at this point, I filed the complaints. This was one of many unreturned phone calls from Premier. I also left messages on her and her husband’s cell phones without a return call. I also spoke to the manager and he promised he would return my phone call, but did not. I addressed the issue of matching the shingles to the current color, hunter green, with **. [redacted] previously and stated that maybe it was just a color error and **. [redacted] was trying to honor my request and match the shingles to the current color and he chose Biscayne blue. At that point, she stated that the sales representative would NEVER choose the color. She stated that they may suggest a color but would always run it by the homeowner first. The color Biscayne Blue was never suggested to me and I NEVER requested to change the color. **. [redacted] suggests that I should be satisfied with the “Biscayne Blue roof that is simply perfectly done and only shades away from my original color.” I have attached a screen shot of the colors of shingle by [redacted], and you can clearly see that Biscayne Blue is nowhere close to Hunter Green.

**. [redacted] is also inaccurate in stating that Premier Siding & Roofing and [redacted] were unaware that we were being mobilized. I told this to [redacted] on several occasions and it was hard to meet with [redacted] in person because we were in between training for our deployment and home. Documentation of training and mobilization orders can be provided upon the request from Premier Siding & Roofing. Due to the strict nature of orders and all of the personal information, I will not upload them to this site for the public to see.

**. [redacted] is also inaccurate in stating that we had no one checking on our home the entire time we were gone for deployment. Our neighbors did in fact check on our home, and they did in fact let us know that the work was complete. They however, did not know what color the roof was supposed to be. I already addressed this with **. [redacted] when she previously stated I should have had someone watching my house. My priorities were having someone care for our six month old son, not manage a company every step of the way as they replaced our roof and siding. She calls me negligent for this. I do not see myself as negligent; I see myself as a concerned mother and Soldier. I would hope that a business would do as contracted, not put that burden on me and label me as “negligent” for their errors.

When I originally contacted **. [redacted], she said she would have someone come out to check the roof right away. The person (her husband), never showed up to meet with us. At that point, she did not say anything about replacing the siding of our home. It was later when I called about the no show that she stated that he was coming to look at the siding to see if it would be “easier,” which I assume cheaper on their end, to replace the siding. As she said, I did tell her that I did not want new siding; I wanted the roof replaced for what the original request was, Charcoal Black.

She is also accurate in stating that I told her that I would contact the Attorney General and the Revdex.com. I however did not state that I would file a complaint with the Army. There are no channels through the Army system that deals with civilian cases. However while mobilized, Soldiers are protected by the Soldiers and Sailors act.

As she stated in her reply, we left before the work was started or completed and did not return until 2013. That is beyond our control because of pre/post mobilization training. When we came home, I also took it upon myself to try to do everything to make the roof match. I repainted all of or shutters, which were previously hunter green to match the original roof. I also replaced the canopy on the playhouse in the yard. It was too expensive to replace the awning. There is nothing cost effective we can do would help to make the Biscayne Blue roof match our house. These changes are another reason of the additional lapse in time.

**. [redacted] is also correct in stating that we were default on the last payment. This is because the completed work order was never faxed to our insurance company to receive the last payment. We had to prove the work was completed before the insurance company would release the last payment. I was unaware this was not faxed in and as soon as I found out, I sent a check out of my own pocket to pay off the balance. We did not go MIA, but we were hard to get a hold of due to training in the field where there is no reception in many circumstances. She stated that there was no communication from 11/30/11 until October 2013. This is a completely inaccurate statement and I have text messages to and from [redacted] to prove this. It is apparent there was communication during this time, they contacted me for payment and payment was made.

**. [redacted] is also correct in stating that my only negotiation was to give us a new roof with the color that we originally contracted. Her feeling of “threats” were simple statements that I would file a complaint in which she responded, to go ahead because they would do nothing to help us and that they do not handle this type of complaint. I find it hard to believe that we, as a dual military family that was mobilized when the work was done cannot get assistance in correcting an error that was clearly not ours. I sincerely hope that Premier Siding & Roofing takes some responsibility for their negligence and completes the work as originally requested and contracted. **. [redacted] requested that I retract my complaints with the Revdex.com and Attorney General. I absolutely will not retract my complaints until this is resolved and done as originally contracted. Thank you for your time and the opportunity to let me provide a response.

Respectfully,

Business

Response:

In addition to [redacted]'s email here is my response for [redacted]. I contacted [redacted] on 3/14 around 3pm and we are working together to find a fair resolution. I did offer some ideas, all of which I would have to get approved by Dave, but I am trying to find a fair solution for all parties regardless of who is right, or wrong. One option I mentioned was to have the home resided, or re-roofed, and we would charge our cost...only the price of materials and labor. There would be no overheard, no profit. I even offered to provide invoices to prove the price. I said maybe I could get approved that we would cover half and the [redacted]'s could pay the other half and even pay by a payment plan. Other options include continuing to work with [redacted] to see if they would cover some of the expenses to redo the roof, or siding. I am waiting to hear back from [redacted] and we really do want her to be satisfied. We can continue to update the Revdex.com as we continue to work toward a resolution.

Thank you,

Premier Siding & Roofing

Dave,

Thank you for forwarding this detailed information. To the best of my knowledge I agree with and legitimize these claims.

It was also very odd to me that it was 2 years after the fact of the roof replacement that they contacted with the complaint.

I remember they changed the color at the last minute which is why I sent the fax to change the color originally. Over the hundreds of jobs I completed within my tenure at Premier Siding and Roofing this was the only occasion of such a last minute change and it is impossible in my mind that I would have gone out of my way to make such a mistake. I apologized myself to **s. [redacted] and can understand why it would have been frustrating but I cannot rest any blame on Premier as this was what was chosen by the customer. Any other information I had I already turned over to Premier and I am behind their claims 100%.

Review: In September of 2010, this company put a new roof on my home. Within 6 - 10 months, the roof was leaking onto my ceiling in my foyer and near my steps. I notified the company, someone came and looked at it. He stated that nails had been put in "upside down" and that he fixed the problem. Within approximately 6 - 10 more months, it began to leak in the exact same place. I again called the company, spoke with a [redacted], and was informed I no longer had a warranty. I argued that I understood this, but it must not have been adequately repaired the first time. I let this go on for awhile, thinking I had no choice. It continued to leak in the same exact place. I again called and spoke with [redacted]. I have spoken to her about 3 to 4 times since I got the roof after leaving many messages. The last time I spoke with her was probably September, although I am not sure of this date, at which time she was extremely rude. I will not call her again. I now have to call another roofer to find my leak and fix it, as water is now coming into my home in the EXACT original place of my complaint. The company was located at [redacted] in [redacted] at the time I purchased my roof. I was told they moved to [redacted], pa.Desired Settlement: Ultimately, I wanted the company to at least come and see why it continued to leak and appropriately repair it this time. However, I do not feel they will stand by their product, and I will not speak with [redacted] again due to the way she has spoken to me. I do want other consumers to know about this so they do not have the same experiences as me. There are a lot of roofing companies out there and hopefully they will see this and choose more wisely. Thank you for this opportunity to tell my situation. I realize that it has been over 3 years since I received my roof, but I felt I deserved at least a visit since I originally complained within 10 months. The leak has remained in the exact same spot. I know I deserve to be spoken to with respect.

Response:

Attached I have offered three documents to support our response to this Revdex.com Complaint. We have only one record of the [redacted]'s contacting Premier Siding & Roofing after May 20th, 2011. That call came in a few months ago there was no other communication that we received from [redacted] until we were notified by the Revdex.com that [redacted] had made a complaint against our Company. I ([redacted]) clearly remember speaking with [redacted] in late 2013, she explained that she had an area of concern near an old leak. I explained to her that unfortunately we are not doing work in OH at this time, and that we kept Company Representatives in the area for almost an entire year after our last warranty expired there. So, I simply did not have anyone to send over, or I would have sent someone over right away of course at no cost to her to inspect the issue. [redacted] explained that this area of concern arose a weeks ago and that she did not want to have to pay someone to fix it and was hoping that we would fix it for free…I did inform her that by letting the issue fester it could very well increase the cost of the repair that’s when she got very concerned and mentioned her financial struggles to afford the house upkeep. Even though she was upset she remained very polite and she even said that she understood and even agreed that it was so long after the work was done and that she thought she was just give it shot as far as having us come over and pay for the repairs and we ended the conversation in a very respectful manner. I have not heard from her until I received a notification that she had submitted an fabricated Revdex.com complaint against Premier Siding & Roofing and really it seems to be more against me, maybe because I am the one that said no and she seems to be under some personal stress right now? I do not want her to be upset with our Company, especially after we did fulfill our contractual obligations to [redacted].

Review: installed new roof in july 2011. shortly after installation we found water leaking into our dinning and family room.they said that they found the problem and the leak was fixed. we now found water stains and a mushroom growing ouf our baseboard.we called premier and spoke with [redacted] and she set up two appointments for someone to come and look at it but nobody showed up both times. we have left many messages and they will not return any of our calls, I then called another contractor and he looked at the roof and said there was no flashing put in this area and the roof has been slowly leaking ever since. he also took down several feet of drywall and all the wood is wet and rottedDesired Settlement: I want my roof leak fixed and the damage repaired and I want premier to pay for repair

Response:

**. [redacted]'s warranty expired July 19th, 2012. We told **. [redacted] that we could possibly send someone out to inspect his concern, but I could make no promises/guarantee's that we would cover the cost of the repair because his warranty is expired, and the leak may not be a result of the work that financial responsiblity. I can send someone out for free to inspect the home. If that is an acceptable place to start with **. [redacted] then I would be happy to schedule a time to send someone by if he withdraws the Revdex.com complaint, but again we have no resonsbilties to **. [redacted] at this point because his warranty is expired.
