Hi [redacted] ,I am sorry, I am not sure I understand your complaintYou have two ISBNs assigned to your book (one for each edition as is required), [redacted] is a valid ISBN registered to your title and on file with the Library of CongressYour issued U.Scopyright protects all editions of your workPlease let me know if I can be of further assistance

Dear ***,Your manuscript has already been deleted and a signed letter of confirmation will be mailed as requested The policy of retaining unsigned authors manuscripts for a period of one year is a matter of convenience ?for our authorsOften enough, authors who initially decline to enter a publishing agreement right away subsequently contact us many weeks or months later requesting to move forward with their proposed agreement The signed Non-Disclosure agreement that is sent to authors prior to any manuscript submission to our company prevents any usage by Page Publishing unless the author is in possession of an executed publishing agreement and desires to publish their title with us Manuscripts are always destroyed upon request regardless of the manuscript storage policy.Best Regards,Dustin R [redacted] President/CEOPage Publishing, Inc

Hi [redacted] ,I am sorry that you are confused about the royalty structure defined in your publishing agreement and detailed in our brochure - I have attached both here for your referenceIn all our documentation, we try to make it very clear as to how much profit an author can expect from each book soldThe 70% profit that you are citing refers to eBooks sold on platforms such as [redacted] or [redacted] Looking at page of the royalty graph, you can see where we explain how much you could make from a print edition of a book sold through [redacted] and other retailersPhysical books are subject to a 55% wholesale discount as will as printing costs, which eats into the profit marginPer our example on the royalty graph (also priced at $19.95), you can see how a printed book would make less than 70% profitAlthough some variables can alter the final royalty (such as printing costs), our authors typically receive royalties in the three dollar range for each copy of their printed book sold.Best Regards,Dustin R [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: Thanks for the explanation, and let it be clear that I didn't expect to sell 1,copies of my bookI knew I was a new authorMy goal was at least 100, given the promise of said marketing from Page PublishingFor having such a large digital impact, you would think an author would at least get more than books salesI would assume the first quarter should have more sales than what I had had compared to other, future sale quartersMy book is listed as January ***, yes, but my book wasn't even "live" for people to purchase it until around 217, and my digital downloads to business days after thatLet it be clear there were issues with the listings and Kindle formattingI actually found it out on my own, and wasn't notified, from what I rememberThe reason why it fell into said promised period was because, I myself, on my own time, was doing, re-doing, or being redundant in communication to move along the process as best as I couldI was expecting be 20-30% involved, and I was 80-90% involvedThis wasn't me simply doing approvals on things, it was actually me doing the work I paid someone else to do.I appreciate the extension of more promotion and cancelling the contractI am reluctant to do the extra promotion, because although complimentary, I feel like it would be me doing and/or redoing that work, because this is what I am used to from my past experiencesI guess I will have to grin and bare it, and be optimistic seeing as how I obviously need more promotionI will await my second quarters results before I proceedThank you In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Hi ***,I am sorry that you feel dissatisfied with our service, more specifically the sales reports issued for your titleI have carefully reviewed your file and have ensured that your quarterly reports issued by Page Publishing match the reports provided to us from our distributorI have
attached the referenced reports for your examination, as you can see there is no discrepancyWe make accurate sales reporting one of our top priorities and we will be glad to investigate this matter further upon receiving more information about the sales in questionUnfortunately the publication process does cost money, and in the case of new or unknown authors, an investment by the author is often required to offset the cost of production expenses, such as page design, cover design, ebook production, website hosting, etc., all of which were completed on your behalf per your publishing agreementPlease let me know if I can be of further assistance.Best Regards,Dustin R***

Dear ***,I believe there is some confusion on what was discussed with our representative, the extensive work that has been completed on your behalf resides in the exhaustive revisions to your initial illustrationsAs you know, your requested artwork is very intricate and borders on fine art, not
illustrationsOur art department has spent many hours revising and redoing your artwork per your specifications, that is why the representative that you spoke with was reluctant to offer a full refundHe did mention that should you discontinue your publication, a partial refund would be agreed upon (which would have been the bulk of your investment)Regardless of this decision, I am authorizing the requested full refund and I wish you the best of luck in your future publishing endeavorsI am sorry that your experience with us did not work out, but I hope that you do see your work published in the near future!Best Regards,Dustin R***

We are sorry to hear that this individual is upsetHowever, the claims being made are absolutely unfoundedPage Publishing is in fact a publisherWe are not aware of the definitions that this individual is using to label Page Publishing a "non-regular" or "Fake Publishing House." Page Publishing
has published thousands of b***s for authors around the world, making Page Publishing a b*** publisherOur Author Submission Kit, which is mailed to all of our prospective authors clearly states that an investment on the authors part may be necessary, especially if an author has no previous sales history and/or is not a public figure with an established followingWe actually attempted to mail the Author Submission Kit to this author on multiple occasions, to the address that was provided, but each time it was returned as being undeliverableCarl, the Literary Development Agent assigned to this individual, attempted to call and speak with him about Page Publishing, but he was unable to reach the individual on the phone number providedThe individual later explained to Carl, via email, that he was "too poor to usually have minutes on my prepaid phone." Page Publishing went above and beyond, attempting to contact this individual through multiple mediums to further explain our processes and introduce him to our companyHowever, due to no fault of Page Publishing the individual was extremely difficult to reach, which certainly led to this confusionAt no point in time did this individual provide any payment to Page PublishingHe is not under any contract with Page PublishingHe is free to pursue publishing with a publishing house of his choosingWe wish him the best in identifying a publisher that will meet his requirements

Hello ***,Your refund and publishing agreement release will be mailed to you todayI believe there is some confusion on what was discussed with our representative, the extensive work that has been completed on your behalf resides in the exhaustive revisions to your initial illustrationsAs you know, your requested artwork is very intricate and borders on fine art, not illustrationsOur art department has spent many hours revising and redoing your artwork per your specifications, that is why the representative that you spoke with was reluctant to offer a full refundHe did mention that should you discontinue your publication, a partial refund would be agreed upon (which would have been the bulk of your investment)Regardless of this decision, I am authorizing the requested full refund and I wish you the best of luck in your future publishing endeavorsI am sorry that your experience with us did not work out, but I hope that you do see your work published in the near future!Best Regards,Dustin R***

Hi ***,I have reviewed your account and our records show that your Publication Coordinator (PC), Katie, made sure that your project was completed in an error free and timely manner per our agreement and her role as your PCI do see where there was an error made in changing the retail price of
your ebook post-publicationFor that I do sincerely apologizeI have personally looked into the matter and have made sure that the situation has been rectifiedYour paperback price was immediately corrected upon discovering the mistake, unfortunately metadata changes (such as a price update) are not reflected in real time on vendor websitesBook retailers receive their data from our distributor at a frequency that they determine, and it can sometimes take a couple of weeks to update a book's listingThe new pricing will appear shortly as promised. Regarding the $price you saw on the *** * *** website, upon investigation I found that to be the price for a used copy of your book offered by one of *** marketplace vendorsThis price was never set by Page Publishing. Our staff will continue to monitor your price update and you will be notified the moment your retail price is updated at all major retailers

On April 29, 2015, we received a call from *** *** residing on *** *** *** in ***, Maine. He requested an estimate for a new hot water tank, as well as new knobs on the a tub and valves on a shower. He also said he had a broken toilet. He stated that it was a Habitat
for Humanity home, and when I inquired as to whether or not he had contacted that organization and had he followed the chain of command with regard to the property, he got very belligerent and just wanted to know how much it would cost.I told him I would try to get a ballpark price and I would have to call him back. Not minutes later, he called back, berating me for not returning his call. He was rude to our assistant, who was also taking calls.I called *** at the Habitat for Humanity office, and she said that the person staying in one of their homes MUST contact them FIRST with any issues they are having. She then took over the situation from there.Sincerely,*** ***Premium H2O, Inc.Plumbing & Heating** *** *** ***, ME ***###-###-####

Dear *** ***, Our representative (*** ***) placed a call to you on the *** at 4:30pm to discuss the results of your manuscript and was unable to reach you, he left a voicemail requesting that you call him backHe had a follow up call scheduled for 9/* with hopes to speak with you regarding
your reviewUnfortunately, your manuscript does not meet our publication criteria and we will not be able to offer you a publishing agreementThe document requires intensive editing beyond the scope of our typical project limits and would prove to be cost prohibitive for publicationI regret to inform you of this in such an impersonal manner, however Carl was unable to reach you before you filed this grievanceWith Best Regards, Dustin R***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
That's a lieA real publisher will do the "investing" in whatever publishing product said publisher decides to take onNot the authorPage Publishing is not a "real" publishing house at allIt's cheaper to go through *** *** *** to get the "services" Page Publishing is claiming to provideAn author provides the content -- that is the investment an author makesPage Publishing and any non-publisher like them is nothing more than a glorified self-publishing facilitatorThey are NOT publishers and should cease and desist (from) representing themselves as suchSeriouslyIt's fraud to the potential consumer for them to claim otherwise
In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above
Sincerely,
*** ***

We have reviewed the files and spoke with *** ***'s Publication Coordinator*** *** is a new author without an established following from past booksPage Publishing made no representations to him of expected sales volume, as this is extremely difficult to predict without a past sales history
of previous books*** ***'s book has not been on the market for a full quarter, so making a judgement regarding the success of the book is extremely premature. While we do have successful authors, one author experiencing success does not infer that all authors will experience a similar level of salesDirectly in the mutually agreed upon contract there is a clause the reads "Publisher makes no representations, projections or guarantees as to the projected sales volume of the Work."We do apologize for the difficulties *** *** experienced, however we would like to point out that even with the issues that arose, we managed to exceed the 8-month average timeline to get his book to market*** *** began working with Page Publishing on 5/**/and his book was sent to print on 1/**/17, week before the start of the 8th month*** ***'s characterization of the press releases we distribute is not accurateOur press releases generate 2,000-10,unique reads on digital platforms aloneAny interest that is generated from those press releases by media outlets for reviews or interviews, Page Publishing is happy to arrange the detailsWe would be happy to request any changes *** *** would like to have made to the categorization that Amazon has deployed, however *** *** must understand that Amazon has broad categories and there is not one the fits his genre preciselyHe is welcome to work with his Publication Coordinator to establish new categoriesTo assist *** *** with promoting his work, Page Publishing would like to provide him with a radio interview and video trailer promotional items at no additional investmentIf *** *** would prefer to work with another publisher, as he has stated he has contacts that could have met his expectations, we would be happy to release him from his two-year agreement

[Your Answer Here]I never claimed to have sent them any payment. That's the point. I would not have to send any "investment" to a real publisher. They should stop representing themselves as publishers. They are liars. Con-artists. Scammers. I feel sorry for anyone who has been or is duped by Carl C[redacted] or anybody else affiliated with Page Publishing. I consider myself fortunate that I simply had two months of my time being wasted by Carl when he could have let me know long time ago what scheme they are running. Simple as that. I don't appreciate being fooled any more than the next guy. There is no excuse for unprofessionalism when someone is supposedly in business to provide goods or services to the public as a supposed "ongoing concern". No excuse whatsoever.[redacted]

Hi [redacted], It is regrettable that you experienced such delays in receiving a final version of your book. By including authors in every aspect of the process from editing through cover design and printing, we try to mitigate postponement to a book's publication date due to revisions. Requiring our...

authors to approve each step along the way helps prevent the need for reprints and additional fees. Requesting back-to-back revisions as you have done impedes print and distribution timing. Changes made to a publication are always possible, but unfortunately not instantaneous. Please keep in mind that the revision fees incurred with each reprint are instituted by our printer and distributor. Changes made to an author's book prior to printing are absolutely free. Regarding your recent request for a revision, please send the corrections directly to myself [redacted]) and I will personally see that they are completed as expediently as possible. You will not be responsible for the fees associated with this revision, however future changes will result in corresponding charges, so please be thorough when submitting your revisions. With regards to your free radio interview and trailer, you are scheduled to receive these items within the next 30-60 days. These take place after a title has entered the publicity stage of our process. Best Regards,Dustin R[redacted]
