Review: I was billed for 5 months for an online subscription to the St. Paul Pioneer Press which I did not request and did not authorize. I have no idea how Press Plus got my credit card number because I NEVER signed up for the online subscription. When my bank contacted Press Plus, the bank representative was told that Press Plus could do nothing about the fraudulent charges.

Review: When reading articles on the [redacted]s through the [redacted]'s website, I was prompted to sign up for digital access because I had reached my free limit of articles. Little did I know, this pop up was for a service that doesn't provide full digital access but restricted access through a 3rd party called Press Plus. Initially I had no problems accessing articles and then, a few months ago, when looking at articles on the [redacted] website I was prompted to sign-in because according to the [redacted] I did not have an account, even though at that point I had been paying press plus for over 8 months. After trying multiple times to sign into the [redacted]'s website I gave up and called them directly. To my surprise the customer service rep for the [redacted] news informs me that they are not affiliated with Press Plus and I should open an account with them directly and cancel the Press Plus subscription because they do not support their service. Press Plus never notified me that there was a change in my access to the [redacted] or that they were unable to provide the same service, instead they continued to charge me even though I had no access. When I called Press Plus expecting a refund for the months I had no access their customer service department rep & supervisor gave me the run around and wouldn't give me a refund.Desired Settlement: A refund for the last 3 months totaling $30

Sincerely,

Review: I received a debit on my debit card for the Las Cruces Sun Times charged by PRESS PLUS billing service. I was told by "[redacted]" OF PRESS PLUS if I had called to cancel this charge in 24hrs of the charge, I would have received my money back. She said if I had called my phone # would have been in the system. I did call in the time frame. She stated it was not in the system and she could not refund my money because I had not emailed them or used their web site. Then I asked for the physical address she would not give it because she said she was "afraid" I might come and do something to her because I had been "rude" to her on the phone. I DID NOT threaten her. She was lying and misleading me and so naturally I was unhappy because she was making it impossible for me the report my complaint by certified mail. Therefore not allowing me to have a hard copy of my complaint to track this problem since their business practice was unscrupulous. When I reported my complaint her superior "[redacted]" would call me tomorrow. I needed the complaint resolved since there was a time issue. I called [redacted]" who also said he couldn't do anything. I talked to "[redacted]" supervisor he said he couldn't do anything although PRESS PLUS collected money for the LAS CRUCES SUN NEWS.Desired Settlement: I want my $8.99 back as I believe it was collected fraudulently collected using deceptive business practices either from Las Cruces Sun News or Press Plus.

Response:

We have issued a full refund of $8.99 to this customer & cancelled her subscription to the Las Cruces Sun News.

While the terms and conditions clearly state that the trial product to which she subscribed automatically rolled into a monthly subscription at a higher rate, we have decided to refund the customer in full.

The Customer Care team followed our refund policies correctly.

Response:

Good Afternoon,

Review: Press Plus owes me a refund of $17.49. On three separate occasions they have called me and told me it's been credited to my card only to find out that it has not been credited to my card to this date. This started back in December of 2015.Desired Settlement: Refund my money due

Review: In December of 2014, I subscribed to [redacted] for the [redacted] through Press Plus. I downloaded the application to my cell phone, and was not able to access the newspaper. Over the next few weeks, I spent several hours with customer representatives, trying to fix the issue, but to no avail. Note that customer service was very supportive at that time. I finally proceeded to cancel my account, as there didn't seem to be any success possible.

I received my credit card bill with a 10 dollar charge. I called customer services, and asked about the charge, and was told this was for 1 month of service. I pointed out, and the representative confirmed by the records they had in my file, that I had never been able to access the service, so had not received the service I was charged for. I then requested that the charge be removed. I was told that it was "company policy" not to grant refunds past a 2-day window, and that he could do nothing. I asked for someone who could do something, and was told there was no-one. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and the representative said he was a supervisor. Further conversation seemed pointless.Desired Settlement: 1. A refund for the charge, as I did not receive services.

2. Press Plus implement reasonable money-back policies and clearly communicate such policies to customers.

3. Press Plus authorize staff to process refunds when services were not delivered.

Review: I was searching for an archived news article from the Allentown (PA) Morning Call newspaper for my students. In order to access archives, I agreed to be charged $0.99 for access to Morning Call archives for one month. I was indeed charged $0.99 on 12/**/13 with no expectation that this was anything other than one time transaction.

As it turns out, beginning as of January 2014 I have been charged 8 monthly charges of $15.96 a month, which I absolutely did not agree to. I have not accessed the Morning Call website during this time and did not agree to any charges beyond the $0.99 charge. I feel that this is a bait and switch tactic.

Attempts to resolve this billing issue directly with Press Plus yielded no satisfactory response or resolution.

.Desired Settlement: I am requesting that I be refunded $127.68 ($15.96 x 8) which has been debited from my bank account without my authorization.

Sincerely,

Review: I got billed by press plus on my credit card without my knowledge and for 3 months they been charging me. They can't say I authorized it because at end of Feb. I almost died from an infection and was in out of the veterans hospital and O'blness hospital in athens,oh and it was from feb** to march ** time I was at hospitals or in them in this time frame and they had been charging me for over three months now at $9.95 on my credit card. But also I talked to a friend who's a deputy sheriff to check my phone bill and I asked why he told me since Feb. they had been getting calls from people saying they were getting billed by this company by phone, debit and credit cards without their knowledge. We don't use our house phone very often but it's with our bundle and sure enough there were some $5 charges on our phone bill that showed we owed and charged by this number [redacted] Ny. which is press plus company. I found out from other residents at apartment complex over 30 more had the same charges without permission. I want my money back and something done. I am a disable veteran on a budget and I don't have money to loose to these scams that come up every time you turn around.Desired Settlement: my money back and something done to the company or at least get it out on the internet. alert to people that this is going on before it starts affecting our senior citizens.

Review: I started a subscription plan with [redacted] for online data. After a reduced price trial period, I attempted to cancel the subscription. The Globalsecurity website and billing statement on my credit card both list Press Plus as the agent. Press Plus insists that I do not have an account, and that I should contact Global Security to cancel. The following is posted on the global security page: [redacted], "- Individual subscribers looking to cancel paid subscriptions to [redacted] or for other inquires regarding billing and payment, contact Press+ by phone at ###-###-#### or by Email at [redacted] . If you are looking to unsubscribe for our Email newsletter, there is a link with instructions on how to do so at the bottom of each newsletter." I cannot get the subscription cancelled.Desired Settlement: Cancel subscription and stop payments.
