Price Toyota Scion Reviews (28)

Review: I will never like this page or take my truck and car to service here anymore. In 2010 I had my Tundra go in for a frame recall. All was well during the 8 months they had my truck. Since Toyota decided to replace the frame and do nearly $12k of warranty work on my truck I also gave them my timing belt and water pump to do at 112k. When I finally did get my truck back and asked for the parts they could not produce them but assured me the work had been completed. At 138K I was driving to work on 95N and my truck simply lost power. I had it towed to a local mechanic who keeps me in oil changes and other repairs as needed and he verified the timing belt and water pump were actually never replaced. I then called Price and they said to tow it to them. They looked at it and a week later called me back to say "Your truck was overheated (It was not) and the warranty on our repair is 1 year / 12,000 miles. I then called Toyota corporate. They opened a case for me, Toyota Customer Experience Center Case [redacted] and said I would get a call back from Price Toyota's Customer relations manager within two business days. I called back Corporate today four business days later still waiting on a call from Price's CSR. He said he would connect me. He never connected me. Instead he ([redacted]) came back on the phone and informed me that Price isn't going to do a thing. Well I certainly am as I just asked my attorney to file for a smalls claims case against Price Toyota for not completing the original work as requested. The evidence will show this to be true. Moral: Always get your parts back from a major service and when you don't question them at the time of pick up rather than allowing it. I sure hope Price Toyota learns a lesson from this horrible customer experience resulting in a law suit on them.Desired Settlement: 1.) Truck engine repaired or replaced with new (Not a used engine as suggested by dealership). The engine is an interference engine that requires it be rebuilt when the timing belt breaks.2.) Truck rental for time spent without a vehicle.3.)Tow costs covered.4.) Attorney fees and time off work covered.

Response:

This dealership has not seen this vehicle in 4 years and several thousands of miles. The warranty period has long since expired.

Review: I took my 2010 Toyota Tundra in for service at the dealership where I purchased the vehicle on 7/21/2014. Upon picking up the vehicle I noticed that there was a crack in the windshield that was running down the side. This was not there upon me bringing the vehicle into the shop and they refuse to accept responsibility for it. I have called and met with managers at the location, they keep giving me the run around stating they need to review videos so they can come to a conclusion on how the crack got on the vehicle, none of the videos were conclusive and now I am left with a damaged vehicle. They suggested that I pay for half the repair which I believe is unreasonable. Truck was in maintenance shop first and no crack was noted, it was they transferred to the Detail shop of same company and there it was noted that the windshield was cracked.Desired Settlement: Toyota need to replace the windshield

Response:

[redacted] is a good customer and did have his truck

in for service in July. We have met and reviewed the security video together.

It is clear to me that no damage occurred while being serviced however the

video was not available for the time the vehicle was in our detail area. The

area that the vehicle occupied during the cleaning process is clear of overhead

obstacles so I don’t believe anything made contact with the truck. The truck

does have a roof rack and the customer does carry lumber supplies for his job.

[redacted]’s truck is a 2010 model year with 88521

miles on it. A chip leading to a crack in the windshield is not unusual at this

mileage. A good will offer to pay 50% of the repairs was extended and declined

in person on 08/19.

Review: Price Toyota Scion refuses to honor factory warranty on 2014 Scion I purchased from Stevenson Toyota in December of 2013. I am an Active member of the U.S. Marine Corp. and I was driving from Camp Lejeune in North Carolina to New Castle Delaware in October 2014. When I arrived in Delaware the car began to decelerate, then it completely stopped. I had to have the car towed to Price Toyota Scion. The service department evaluated my car and then I was advised the clutch had to be replaced and that the cost of the repair was not covered under the warranty. My car has 16,500 miles on it. It should be under the factory warranty. Other than the routine oil change I have never taken my car in for repairs.Price feels I should pay 1800.00. I want the cost of repair to be covered under the warranty. This is not a wear and tear issue. Clutches under normal use do not wear out at 16k miles. The service department manager at Price told me it is likely a manufacturer defect. I am not an inexperienced driver. This is not my first manual transmission car. I drove military issued Humvee while in Afghanistan for a year (that was a manual transmission).Desired Settlement: Price feels I should pay 1800.00. I want the cost of repair to be covered under the warranty. Or I want Toyota Scion to buy the car back. This is not a wear and tear issue. Clutches under normal use do not wear out at 16k miles. The service department manager at Price told me it is likely a manufacturer defect. I am not an inexperienced driver. This is not my first manual transmission car. I drove military issued Humvee while in Afghanistan for a year (that was a manual transmission

Review: hello, first I hate to have to do this but they left me with no choice,on 06/21/2014 I purchased a used 2010 Hyundai elentra touring, the salesman who sold me the car was [redacted],after settling on a price and financing,I purchased car,I asked lew if the car came with any kind of warranty, his response was,O YES,IT HAS A 5 YEAR 100,000 MILE WARRANTY,he never said a word about having to pay for warranty,I figured it was included with car,I then met the finance man named [redacted],I had to sign papers and one of the forms I signed was for a warranty on car,NOT ONCE DID [redacted] SAY IT WOULD COST ME MONEY,I signed papers and drove off in my new car,a couple days later I sat down and read over my papers for car,I then saw to my horror and shock,I was CHARGED 2,225$ FOR A WARRANTY ON CAR AND IT HAS A 200$ DEDUCTIBLE,[redacted] never told me I was being charged,I called [redacted] and asked him what this was all about and I want contract canceled,im a auto mechanic for 20 years now and I fix my own cars I don't need a warranty,he told me I had to get the warranty to get a special finance rate, but after reading fine print on contract it says I don't need to get a warranty to get financing! SECOND PROBLEM,the first time I used the windshield wipers, the blades were torn and the metal from wiper blade scratched my windshield! I bought new wipers and mon 8-6-2014 I took car to dealer to get my tags and I showed LEW the salesman what happened to my windshield from bad wiper blades he says to me oh u need a new windshield, the scratches will never come out,he went inside and talked to his manager, comes back out and says to me THEY WONT REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD! I got my tags and drove away,I feel as though I was misled, lied too,and deceived, iam not happy at all,why should I have to put a new windshield in a car I just bought when they sold it to me with bad wiper blades and caused it to scratch windshield?Desired Settlement: I want my windshield replaced,as it was not my fault they sold it to me with bad wipers, and I want the extended warranty service contract cancelled, and my finance company refunded there money,I never authorized 2225$ for extended warrarty, nor was I told I was being charged for it.I have until 08/21/2014 to cancel contract and get my money back or refunded to finance company,PLEASE HELP ME!

Response:

[redacted],

Thank you very much for your business; we do appreciate you choosing us as the place to purchase your vehicle. I do apologize that there was apparantly some consfusion regarding your vehicles warranty and rather or not you chose to buy an extended warranty. If you would prefer not to purchase the extended warranty, we can certainly cancel that and the cost would be refunded back to your finance company thereby reducing your overall balance to pay. In addition, while I'm not sure exactly what happened with your wipers and windshield, we can have our Service Department look at any scratches that may be on the windshield and we can attempt to buff those scratches out for you.

Please contact me if you would like assistance with any of the above listed items and I'll be glad to help you with that.

Review: My wife and I leased a RAV 4 from this dealership in February of this year. We traded in a Toyota Camry 2011. The sales rep, Mr. [redacted], helped to close and finalize this transition and we were both very pleased. We were at the dealership for quite a few hours as well. We were informed of the monthly payment and made the first months payment that day, and left happy. We than received a bill from Toyota financial in April for $1594 for late fees, mileage and wear and tear. We were surprised and upset that none of this was mentioned a the time of the sale. Mr. [redacted] gave us no indication that we would need to incur any additional expense and even told us not to worry about the extra keys that we lost. We cannot afford to pay this amount nor have our credit damaged. I have already filed a complaint with corporate today and was informed that Mr. [redacted] would contact us by July 17th. We would like to get this resolved rather than feel we made a mistake purchasing from Price Toyota. Please help us.Desired Settlement: To pay the balance that we were billed for $1,593.47 for late charges, excess mileage and excess wear and tear.

Response:

[redacted],

First, let me thank you for your business; I am pleased you are enjoying your new Rav4. I do apologize that the lease turn-in inspection process may have not been explained to you properly. When you turn in a lease, Toyota sends an independant third party out to inspect your vehicle prior to the lease termination. When that was done, you should have received information from the inspector regarding any lease end fines that may have applied to you. We would have had no way of knowing what these fees would be at the time you renewed your lease with us. Because of that, I can't see any liability Price Toyota could possibly have regarding the amount due on your old lease.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Review: We put 500$ on credit card 5/26/14 because Computer manager advised us to do this so they could try and locate a truck for us to look at. If we were not wanting truck then the hold of 500 would not be used if no transaction took place. I called on 5/27/14 price back and spoke to salesman and he transferred me to finance person finance person which he says he's so new and doesn't know how to cancel that. Not sure he says. I then asked for another finance person and tony says no one is here other than me today. So I asked to please be called back. No one did return call. I then called Computer manager on the 27th later to help in this matter. NOONE called me back again. I contacted our chase credit card this am 5/30/14 and to find out that price toyota actually CHARGED our credit card 500$ FOR NO TRANSACTION ever being made. I called this am at price and supposedly I will be getting a return phone call from new car manager today. I hope this doesn't and hasn't happened to others. Thank you Revdex.com for your help in my concern.

Response:

Good afternoon,

We take these very seriously so, I apologize if this case went overdue.

[redacted] gave Price Toyota a deposit toward the possible purchase of a new Tacoma that she asked to have located. Once she informed us she had purchased elsewhere the dealership credited her the deposit back.

I hope this closes her case

Review: I bought a 2008 jeep wrangler in 2011 from price Toyota used car dealership. The vehicle looked ok but had a cracked taillight and lic plate mount. Got what I thought was a good deal and was happy with the salesman. The fiancé manager did the paper work and offered as they all do the Toyota platinum protection plan. I asked the rep if it covered eng and trans since I didn't know where the vehicle came from. He clearly stated yes and he also stated that there was only a 50 $ deductible . The coverage was 2000.00+ . The truck had 48000 miles on it 35 in tires and a lift kit. I have had the truck for two years and have put on 32000 miles.mostly high way miles to and from phila pa about 47 miles each way. Three weeks ago I noticed a bind in the trans and took it to my mechanic who in turn took it to price Toyota. I figured they sold me the warranty they would be better to deal with it. The service manager stated they couldn't find any thing wrong with it and I would have to come up there and show them. I went up as requested ,waited 25 min and then the service manager took a ride. I said I needed to get a little gas, pump right there,he said didn't have time for that. I left with the truck and took it to Carmen jeep . They couldn't find any thing with it. Drove the truck to work for the next few days, and on the way to the stope the truck locked up and had to bestowed to dealer. The Toyota premium warranty co [redacted] looked at the problem and stated it was a damage due to towing. I haven't towed anything yet cause the truck has been the shop.while inSevis auto repair I had them put on a new wiring harness for a trailer it does have a trailer brake.because of this and the over sized tires the co will not cover the damage. I haven't towed anything oversized with this. I did have a small trailer I used for getting stuf from lowes. Apparently the damage was done before I bought the truck. I was under the impression it was covered because the dealer sold me the warranty. Now the dealer will not return my calls and I am out 2000.00 for a warranty that is not worth the paper it is written onDesired Settlement: I want my truck fixed as the warrant stated it would be. I feel that the truck was sold with an issue and it showed its self and now no one will take responsibility for it.

[redacted] did purchase a Toyota Platinum extended Service Contract that does cover the engine and trans as identified in the complaint however the contract also states that the service company reserves the right to send an independent inspector out to verify the concern. In [redacted] case he was here at Price Toyota but left prior to completing the diagnosis (as stated in his complaint). As per the Complaint he then went to Carman Jeep and they (a Jeep Dealer) couldn’t verify the concern. Ultimately the truck did have some sort of failure and [redacted] had the vehicle taken to an independent shop for repair. The Shop contacted the extended Service plan company who then dispatched a inspector (as outlined in the contract) and the inspector submitted a report indicating damage not covered by the policy. .

Review: When I bought my 08 Ford Mustang through Price Toyota they acted as the agent selling me an extended warrenty.I bought another car ending my need for the warrenty on that car .I'm now entitled to a refund on the unused portion.I went to Price and the filled out paper work starting the refund process and after 3 weeks I called the warrenty company asking the status on my return.I then found out that nothing was sent to them as far as ever having a warranty.I followed up by going to Price where after looking at my paper work they contacted the wrong warranty company and was told it would only be a few days longer for my return.I still haven't heard anything 1 week later. So total its going on a monthDesired Settlement: I would like my return in a more timely manner

Paperwork was submitted to aftermarket extended Service Company on 08/27/13. The estimated refund amount should be approximately $520.00 as supplied to us by the warranty company. [redacted] will receive the refund directly from the Warranty Company and should receive it within the next few weeks.
