 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: (answers are in guillemets <<>> against remarks below):
I intend this to be my final response as I feel that I've done all I can to try to resolve this. <<I would expect PMI to show more patience in dealing with customer complaints. May I, as a frustrated customer, request a refund of membership subscriptions?>>

Our understanding is that to **. [redacted] is requesting to present a academic research paper at one of the locally run PMI events in India but does not want to have it peer reviewed as isthe
standard process.  <<Where did you get this absolutely fictitious information from?>>
Papers submitted need to adhere to standards of quality and be factually supported. <<I don't find what is the relevancy of this [redacted] my complaint to Revdex.com, which is against getting no response to my several emails to the PMI customer service. The instances cited to Revdex.com were only those I could easily lay my hands upon at that time in response to an email.>>
The PMI Chapter President in India reached out to **. [redacted] and expressed a
willingess to discuss this further but was traveling at the time and not immediately available and suggested they schedule a call to discuss.  **. [redacted] appratently was not satisfied with
this response and demanded an immediate call/meeting.   <<This is wrong. I mentioned that while waiting for the local (chapter) president to find time--it was him who chose the mode of exchange to be interpersonal--if I may discuss a few things of importance with the global prez and requested for her email id.>>
This complaint is known to the global manangment of PMI and the opinion is that this is a local matter and that **. [redacted]
needs to follow the process for review as set forth by the local PMI leadership in India who are running the event. <<This is wrong again, I don't want to publish with the local chapter. All I had wanted is a response to my emails and accessibility by PMI office bearers. Some of these I would have liked to present before the local (chapter) prez and some to the PMI (global) prez.>>
I do not understand the reference to the email from 2002 and do not know what the issue was at that time but in any event none of the individuals on the email still work for PMI (or in
the case of the PMI Chair serve on the Board) and I don't see what relevance this has to the matter here. <<The email was included to prove that in 2002 the president/chair of PMI was quite accessible and that no indication to the contrary has been circulated since then. I regret utmost if the policy that allowed anyone to contact the prez/chair has changed of late.>>

Our local staff and the local Chapter remians willing to speak to **. [redacted]. <<I am glad to hear that and I will relate matters that I can to them. However, if they respond to emails in the first place, it will be easier on my part.>>
Regards,
[redacted]

The individual complainant here apparently took a preparatory course from a 3rd party training provider, the message here does not state who offered the course.  In any event its was not Project Management Institute (PMI) as PMI does not offer training courses for PMI's...

certifications.  If he would like a refund for the course he should be contacting the 3rd party training provider, not PMI.Regarding the certification application fees charged by PMI, these are published on PMI's website and in the Handbooks relating to PMI certification programs.  Candidates who are unsuccessful do not receive a refund and that is made clear as is the re-testing fee of $275.

Customer has been provided with full refund.  Additionally Customer has been advised he can contact a member of our Customer Care team with assistance on completing the application should he choose to re-apply.

Hi...

Revdex.com,
Thanks a lot for excellent work. Actually, upon receiving your mail, PMI acted and reached out to me. Since due to your superlative work the closed channel of communication has opened up again, I would like to pursue the same only because I deem that your time is more valuable and can be better utilised by solving others' problems, while I try to follow this up.
Please allow me to approach to you the channel, opened up by you, closes again.
Warm regards,
-[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:PMI's ignorance of the circumstances surrounding my work continues to astound me!  It appears to be common practice to pretend like something doesn't exist in order to turn a blind eye to it.  They have not addressed ANY of the following:
1.  They are asking me to make up fictitious project names to appease their bogus requirements.2.  They are equally asking me to make up hours to go along with these made up job names.3.
They have been told told repeatedly that there are hundreds of projects
and that it is impossible to accurately/truthfully report hours at this
juncture against all of these projects.  Furthermore, the information is proprietary.4.  They have been told that
my employers did NOT request hours to be reported by project!  There is NO official record of
individual hours against each project within a program.5.  I in fact have given PMI hours calculated against the entire scope of the program and projects that I have worked on.6.
They are rejecting the hours that I have reported because they do not
fit within their rigid calculations which are NOT industry standard, are
NOT common for PMs like myself, and force me to make up
the information simply to appease PMI.7.  They are in fact discriminating against me for my refusal to lie.8.  I was told by their representative Kirk M[redacted] that he hears the same complaint I made "many many" times.  He stated that he understood my frustration but could not do anything to help me.Their attorney's rhetoric is the same as the employees of PMI that I have already spoken to.  They refuse to look at reality and continue to read from their scripted materials and simply repeat the same language which is "... PMI requires that hours etc. etc. etc."This organization needs to be investigated and stopped from being a monopoly on the Project Management Industry.

Review: Credential issuing organization approved customer application. After customer passed credential exam and was granted credential, organization revoked credential (citing what was originally approved).

Credential issuing organization has not communicated why it would approve eligibility, then change approval.Desired Settlement: 1.) Reinstatement of Earned Credential

2.) Statement explaining change of approval

Business

Response:

PMI is going to refend the customer as she requested.

Business

Response:

This is not a consumer issue. **. [redacted] is a former employee of PMI and his PMI credential (PMP) was revoked when he was not able to provide proof of requisite work experience. This decision was conveyed to **. [redacted] in January 2009. He was refunded the application fees he had paid and was advised that he could reapply for the PMI credential in the future, if and when he could demonstrate that he obtained the requisite work experience. He voluntarily left PMI’s employment in 2010.

He recently wrote one of PMI’s Directors requesting reinstatement of his credential and our Director of Certification responded to him that the decision made in 2009 was final. PMI is still open to him reapplying for any PMI credential, however he will need to complete a new application, satisfy the requisite eligibility criteria, and pass the certification examination.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

This business refuses to unsubscribe me from their email mailing list for several years now, no matter how many letters, emails and unsubscribe requests I make - for each of those several years.

Review: I am a member of PMI as well as the [redacted] Chapter ([redacted]) of the PMI. I have been facing hindrances [redacted] communicating with anyone in the PCC. I brought the matter to the notice of the PMI several times, via email. The latest one is dated 29th March, 2014. However, PMI customer service would not attend to my emails.

My membership #, which is [redacted], which is in good standing. Not that it is required to be mentioned since I haven’t done so in my earlier contacts with the customer service of the PMI. However, it might be useful for PMI to connect.Desired Settlement: I want to write about my perception of what is going wrong with PMI PCC and how the same should be corrected to the President of PMI and get a considered response. Failure to respond to phone calls or written requests for assistance or support.

Business

Response:

Member has been contacted by PMI and the local PMI Chapter will be reaching out to him to discuss his concerns. Individual has responded and acknowledged receipt and indicated desire to engage in this discussion. PMI considers this Revdex.com complaint closed.

Consumer

Response:

Hi Revdex.com,

Review: Two week ago I asked the Project Management Institute to refund my PMP exam fee of $405. My mother has been diagnosed with lung cancer and they are unable to find dates for my exam that are before June 2014. Mind you, my exam had not even been scheduled yet, just paid for. They agreed to the refund (which should only take 5 days). Then they told me they would have to take out $100 for processing. Processing what??? nothing was scheduled. I have paid them over $1600 in fees. I want $405 refund immediately. This is ridiculous.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of $405.

Business

Response:

This complaint has been resolved and individual has been given a full refund as requested
