I have tried for months to rollover a retirement account It is not happening--without reason or apology I have attempted to contact Tom L***, help I received an e-mail from Michael P*** (specialist correspondence)--no helpI urge businesses to avoid Empowerment for the sake of their employees!

The absolute WORST financial services company I have had the displeasure of doing business withMy company decided to be cheap bs and move us from Schwab to this shady hell holeLike most everyone here, I was attempting to move MY hard earned money from this shady company elsewhere and I was given the complete run aroundThey put up so many hurdles in the way of getting your money, they must be counting on most people giving upFirst, their online portal doesn't allow for pretty much any updating of your informationSo if your previous plan hadn't been updated in a while, you are screwedThey claim you need to wait days after changing your information over the phone before any withdrawalsNext, they require the most involved documentation I have ever been forced to submit to take my money out of a 401(k), including having a form notarized and a voided check being sent to themThen, they claimed my check and the 401(k) account with them had conflicting information, so they refused to send my withdrawal through direct depositI have a suffix (the second) and they said my last names did not matchThe incompetence is ASTOUNDINGFinally, because the last names did not match, rather than send me an e-mail notification of the situation, they simply mailed out a check to the address they had on file, which I have not lived at for three yearsAnd just to put icing on the cake, the person or people who live at my old address are actually identity thieves and have opened credit cards in my name, so I'm sure they have no issues with cashing a check for several thousand dollars made out to meIf you have any choice in the matter stay AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE!!!!!
