We had a fantastic tour. John [redacted] our tour driver was excellent. Very informative and fun!! He is very caring, making sure everyone was okay and in need of anything. I would go again and again with him as our guide and driver.
Fr. Norm [redacted], our priest, was so great. He and John entertained the group with songs. Everyone loved them. If you ever need a priest for a trip he is your guy!
All the sites and places we went were outstanding. The meals were excellent. Our weather was perfect, sunny everyday and rain only on day two.
My only negative was the hotel 3 miles from Edinburgh.. Very Americanized, musty, too big, food okay, but too far from the city. It was not 4 star no matter what they say. I like hotels in the town or city, small, quaint, European. Like the one we stayed in Killarney and Dublin. The hotel in Galway and Cork was also too far out, but they had great food, good pub, and views of the ocean. Still rather be in town. I like going out at night to walk and go into pubs for music and meeting the locals.
Overall I give this tour a 9.
It would be a 10 if not for the hotel in Edinburgh.
I would do this trip again and again, especially with John, but, with the hotels in town.

Proximo Travel facilitated our trips to the Holy Land, Italy, Spain, France, and Portugal. The staff and travel guides were very accommodating, including to our special needs. The guides are very knowledgeable particularly our guide in the Holy Land and France.

Excellent experience and coordination.

Loved the trips. The tour guides are great.

My wife and I used the services of Proximo Travel for our pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Fatima and Lourdes. The staff and guides were very helpful, knowledgeable and professional in all respects. I have no hesitation in giving Proximo the highest rating for customer service and efficiency.

Went on two tours with Proximo Travel and both times had the most wonderful experience. Tour guides were outstanding in their knowledge about the sites we visited and their commitment to excellence making sure everything went smoothly with our travel experience from restaurants, hotels, travel service to sites and making sure we left safely from our departure airport.
Love this tour company, highly recommend.

Went with a group to Greece arranged by Proximo Travel. As a church group, we focused principally on sites associated with St. Paul's time in Greece, but saw many other sites as well. The whole experience was first-rate. Flight arrangements were terrific. We were met in Greece at Thessaloniki by our guide and driver, both quite professional. After five days travelling through the mainland, we went on a three day cruise of the Greek Islands. Just terrific! Food was great, Accomodations comfortable. A good time had by all.

My recent trip thru Proximo was wonderful! The itinerary is well planned and time is spent wisely. All the guides were knowledgable and knew the places well. Our guide in Lourdes and Paris had a very deep accent and difficult to understand but was very attentive to our needs. He listened you our questions and always wanted to please. Our guide in Barcelona was impatient and always rushing. He left us on our own on our first day at the hotel which turned out to be a nightmare. The hotel was charging us for somethings and breakfast. In my previous trips with Proximo, the guides didn't leave us till we got our keys to the room and got settled. I emailed Proximo that not night and got a prompt favorable response. Our guide in Fatima was so organized. She left instructions for us to refer back in case we forgot what we're doing.
I will definitely travel with Proximo again. I just wish, they will waive the extra cost to Alaskan residents like me.

I had the best trip as a chaplain with Proximo Travel. Hotels, dinners, flights all the best ever. Father Antonio [redacted]

3 of us took a wonderful trip to Italy with Proximo Travel. It was a trip of a lifetime and the staff, tours, hotels and overall experience with them was terrific.
I cannot say enough about the thoughtfulness, organization and general fun atmosphere that they gave us for 2 weeks.
We are planning another trip for the entire family.....sort of a family reunion on the go!

Proximo Travel was the agency I used for a recent tour of Rome. I have no complaints. They delivered all the services they said they would.

Recently came back from a trip to Italy with Proximo Travel. On the day we arrived in Italy, we spent two hours in the airport waiting to be taken to our hotel. We were finally dropped off at our hotel with instructions the bus would be back in four hours. The only thing we did on our first day in Italy was go to dinner. Dinners were sometimes poor - not at all the quality they state in their advertising. Our group of 45 was usually merged with 1-2 others, totaling close to 90 people. One particular evening our dinner was at a restaurant with only one toilet available. Another evening, we ate at a truck stop. The tour guide that was assigned to half of our trip informed us she was not licensed for the areas we were traveling so she was unable to assist us with information. One day we were told it was necessary to leave later than originally planned because the bus driver was required to be off duty at least nine (9) hours, however, the same driver took us back to the airport, from Florence to Rome, leaving early in the morning after only a six (6) hour break from the previous night. When I e-mailed Proximo during our trip, their response was very negative and I was told I didn't know what I was talking about. We did visit beautiful places but I will never travel with Proximo again.

Not provided as promised: small group, full agenda & guide (deserted early), wheelchair, Spanish interpreter. Sent reg'd complaint letter w/no reply. We paid $3999 each for a tour of the Holy Land with Proximo Travel for October 14-24, 2013. Before we signed up, we confirmed the number of people on the tour, wheelchair accommodations, Spanish speaking guide, and the agenda for the tour. However, the following happened:1. When we got to Tel Aviv, instead of the 20-30 people promised, there was 55 people on the tour. This caused long delays each time we had to load and unload the bus. Bathroom stops were a nightmare as 35 women were trying to use the facilities at the same time. Also, every seat on the bus was taken. The people in the back row (including 3 of our group of 7 who went on this tour together) were sweating profusely as the AC did not reach the back. They had to sit there the whole tour as the guide told us we could not change seats after the first day. There were two people who got motion sickness and wanted to sit in the front. They were told no as those seats were reserved for the priests. 2. Wheelchair accommodations were not provided and would have been impossible to get around on the terrain. This became a problem for several people on the tour who then could not keep up. This slowed the tour even more. The guide put some of the priests in charge of head counts and to help the slower moving get around.3. No Spanish speaking guide was provided as promised for the 3 women who did not speak English. The guide told two of the priests who spoke Spanish to interpret. They, of course, could not keep up with what he was saying. The 3 ladies missed dinner the first evening because they did not understand what they should do.4. The agenda was changed and cut short because our guide said he needed to leave 40 hours before our tour was to end to "meet two more incoming tours". Many of us have been on tours before and have never had a guide leave before the tour was complete! It sounds like we were supposed to be 2 tours that he combined and that is what he was going to do to the next 2 groups as well. Our guide had a hard time keeping track of so many people by himself and was constantly asking the priests to help. The first day he told us he was his "daddy" (how insulting!) and we should do exactly what he said since the group was so large. He cut some items from the agenda to meet his time frame to leave early. He tried to cut out Masada, but so many people protested, he finally juggled the agenda to go there. Most of the time on the bus, instead of pointing out/explaining interesting sights, he was on his phone trying to change arrangements. When the guide left, he left the bus driver in charge. The first night after he left, one of the group got lost. The bus driver had no idea what to do. Eventually, many of us on the tour, the hotel personnel and finally the police got involved. The person returned to the hotel 2 hours later and was okay. But no one knew what to do-certainly not the bus driver! The bus driver just dropped us off at the airport. There was another guide who eventually found us and told us where to go. However, several people were suffering from diarrhea and needed to find a bathroom immediately. The new guide went with most of the people and left the rest of us to figure the airport out ourselves. One left behind with diarrhea had a hard time walking. Her poor husband was beside himself trying to figure out where she had gone for a bathroom. After about 20 minutes we found her. We never saw the guide again. He had just left us in an unfamiliar airport to fend for ourselves! A man in the back row of the bus, who was sweating so profusely, asked the guide before he left if we would get an evaluation form for the tour. The guide said we would get one before we left the tour. None was provided. On Dec. 6, 2013, we sent registered/ certified letters of complaint to Father [redacted] and [redacted] signed for the letter on Dec. 11. [redacted] not. Seasoned travelers are aware that tours to the Holy Land during certain periods of the year are high season and that long lines are not unusual during that time. We clearly state in our brochures, on-line, and correspondence the following: Proximo Travel, LLC advertises in many venues; therefore group sizes vary depending on location and time of year. They almost always sell out early, so please keep this in mind when you are planning to book a trip. Many people book up to a year in advance. Since we have several different trip configurations touring at the same time, it is likely that groups on different tours will be combined when their itineraries overlap in certain areas. With regards to a Spanish-speaking tour guide, one was not promised for this tour. We had a mix of various nationalities and we cannot accommodate a few who cannot speak or understand the language. Our tour guides speak English and the tours are conducted in English. Translators are not provided. There is nothing in our documentation that states this fact.Wheelchair accommodations are provided to those who request them in advance months prior to departure. They are required to have a companion that will push them as well. No one on this trip requested wheelchair assistance.Delivery was made according to the guidelines in the tour and the itinerary was fulfilled as promised. We do our best to ensure that all sites listed in this itinerary will be seen. However, due to scheduling conflicts, or other circumstances beyond our control, sites may be visited on a different day than listed. If this happens it will also necessitate a change in the restaurant for dinner. However, we will never sacrifice the quality of the meal, all restaurants will meet Proximo Travel's very high standards. Since we have several different trip configurations touring at the same time, it is likely that groups on different tours will be combined when their itineraries overlap in certain areas.Due to the above, we are unable to reimburse any funds requested as our commitment was fulfilled. We still hope that your visit to the Holy Land was an enriching experience. You and your family will be in the prayers of the Proximo Travel Team.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I do not agree with [redacted] response because of the following: I am an experienced traveler, having taken tours of China, South Africa, 13 European countries that took 40 days, Japan and Hong Kong. I have never had a tour guide leave the group early, let alone 1 1/2 days early! Ours left us during a period when one of our group got lost and 3 hours getting through the Tel Aviv airport. None of us had been to this airport and it was way more complicated than most airports! I feel this was unconscionable! We also asked all the appropriate questions we could think of before we signed up re: size of group, itinerary, wheelchair access and Spanish interpreter. The 3 Spanish ladies were part of our group led by Father [redacted] and we wanted to make sure they would be able to understand so there trip would not be wasted. There seems to be a disconnect within the Proximo Travel agency based on [redacted] response. We were told answers to our questions which Carmela is now saying isn't right. Obviously, not everyone who answers the phones there have all the correct information. No one we spoke to said it was high season and tours might be combined. We were told there would be 30 people maximum on the tour. We have all travelled enough to know 56 people on one tour would cause problems and we would not have signed up had we known that. The final itinerary received said that groups on different tours would be combined when their itineraries overlappednot for the whole tour! Only after enough of us complained did our guide reschedule everything to go to Masada. He was planning on skipping it so he could leave early. We also did not get the night show over the Sea of Galilee as the itinerary said. Sorry, but since Proximo advertises their business as "the Catholic Tour Company", we would expect the company to provide what was told to us when we called to ask questions.

We do not agree with [redacted] response for the following reasons We have traveled on several occasions and never had a tour guide leave the group early, let alone 1 1/2 days early, for any reason. Our tour guide left us during a period where one of our group got lost and with only a bus driver to oversee us for any other problems that could've arisen. Having been left at the door of the Tel Aviv airport by the bus driver, we were all amazed at the lack of coordination in aiding us to get through customs and to the boarding area. None of us had been to this airport and it is far more complicated than most airports. We feel this was unconscionable . We also asked all the appropriate questions before signing up re: size of group, itinerary, wheel chair access, and Spanish interpreter. We are from the same parish as the three Spanish ladies but do not speak Spanish ourselves. Fr. [redacted], on several occasions, remarked to us that having spoken to Proximo that they would have an interpreter to accommodate these ladies. We, along with Fr. [redacted], tried to be sure they would be able to understand so that their trip would not be wasted. Apparently, there is a disconnect with Proximo Travel Agency based on [redacted] response. We were told answers to our questions which [redacted] is now saying aren't right. Obviously, not everyone who answers the phones there has all the correct information. No one we spoke to said that it was high season and that tours may be combined. We were told there would be 30 people maximum on the tour. Sorry, but since Proximo advertises their business as "the Catholic Tour Company", we would expect the company to provide what was told to us when we called on several occasions to ask questions. It would be very difficult for us to recommend Proximo Travel as a "wonderful" agency to travel with. Sincerely, [redacted] and [redacted]XXXXX [redacted] XXXXXXXX-XXX-XXXXl

I was part of a group that was going on a trip to the Holy Land and Italy. We encountered a weather delay that prevented five of our group from making the trip. What I found was Proximo is not very helpful when problems occur and actually a negiative partner when filing for travel insurance settlements. I also found that the remaining part of the group that were able to make the trip with a one day delay found the trip to be not as advertised. The itinerary was changed and our small group turned into a larger group as they were combined with other travelers. I would recommend that anyone looking at Proximo look at another company or at least ask a lot of questions regarding group size and what happens when problems arise.

Materials submitted with the reservation describing Cancellation and Payment option are misleading and results in entrapment and loss of $1,000.00 Cancellation Policy clearly states "anything that physically prevents travel.Payment options under FAQs clearly states credit card payments are acceptable.I can forward my letter to them detailing the above.Desired SettlementRefund of $1,000.00 depositBusiness Response I am responding to the complaint regarding the $1,000 non-refundable deposit made on October 10, 2012 for a trip scheduled for Sept 21-Oct 3, 2013 to Italy, Lourdes, and [redacted] for he and his wife. The verbiage on the Proximo Travel website and within all Proximo Travel brochures clearly states that the $500 initial deposit per person is non-refundable. The non-refundable deposit does not directly relate to the Travel Cancellation Protection Policy that he is using as a reference. It should be noted however, that the third bullet of the Travel Cancellation Protection Policy clearly states that 'The Deposit is always non-refundable'. In good faith, Proximo Travel, LLC has offered them the option of transferring their non-refundable deposit of $1,000 towards a trip in the future. This offer was extended to him on June 12, 2013 via an email. There was no response.Per a letter dated June 4, 2013, his concerns were addressed regarding the verbiage of our Travel Cancellation Protection Policy and credit card policy. When I explained why my wife may not be able to travel (situation physically preventing her from travelling), they said no. I was not going to risk another $8,000.00 on the oft chance that she would not be able to travel. So I cancelled our trip. Hence, based on their inaccurate provided materials, I feel strongly they owe us our deposit.I'd like to suggest that a conference call with Prosimo, The Revdex.com and I to discuss this verbally.

Bookeda trip with my church group. paid in full. Needed to cancel trip due to a medical condition which was unknown when the trip was booked. Booked trip for the holy land and italy in April 2014. "frequently asked question" sheet sent via email which did not include cancellation policy. Trip paid in full in July 2014. I was diagnoed with breast cancer in August 2014 and on the advise of my medical oncologist attempted to cancel the trip due to undergoing chemotherapy. Proximo travel asked for a letter from physician which was sent and they still would not offer any refund. They offered to rebook tickets for an additonal $2000. Cancellation terms were never disclosed prior to my request to cancel. The cancellation terms were not disclosed and not lsited on website. total cost of trip was $4699.00Desired SettlementEither full refund or a refund less the inital deposit of $500.Business Response [redacted] registered for her trip on April 11, 2014. It clearly stated in her Welcome Package that travel insurance should be purchased. Our terms and conditions state this as well which are on our website and have been disclosed. Proximo Travel sympathizes with her unfortunate circumstance so much so that we offered her another trip for an additional $2,000, which she declined. Without travel insurance, there is no refund.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The welcoming package DID NOT include the terms and conditions. It did include 8 pages of "frequently asked questions" and logistical information for the trip. Under Method of payment it states the $500 deposit is non-refundable but no where does it state any additonal cancellation information. The "terms and conditions" sheet was only disclosed after I asked to cancel the trip NOT BEFORE.The terms and conditons are also NOT clearly listed on the website as I checked and re-checked. Final Business Response The Terms of Use/Privacy Policy are clearly marked on our website in the lower right-hand corner of our websiteFinal Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The terms and conditions were not disclosed at the time of booking this trip. The package that was sent from Proximo to Ms. [redacted] dated April 11, 2014 listed as "the welcoming package" was 11 pages long and DID NOT list any cancellation policy. on page 11 is speaks of a $500 nonrefundable deposit. Their suggestion to purchase travel insurance is misleading and disingenuous at best. In their terms and conditions that was sent after she tried to cancel trip they said they would "sell" the travel insurance.

On Dec. 6, 2013, we sent registered/ certified letters of complaint to [redacted] (Proximo's owner) and [redacted] ([redacted]). [redacted] signed for the letter on Dec. 11.
