Buyer beware, PuppyFind removes negative reviews and biases all operations towards the sellerIn July 2017, I purchased an Australian Shepherd puppy from a ‘breeder’ (Nellie from Lexington, KY) on PuppyFindWe discussed the puppy and pickup arrangements over phone and text, at which point I decided to purchase the puppyPer the breeder, the puppy was dewormed twice and came with current vaccines, veterinary examination, health certificate, and health guaranteeWithin hours of bringing the puppy home, he was too weak to stand, confused, and passing liquid bloody stoolsI contacted the breeder about the issues and they recommended taking him to the vetUpon arriving at the vet, we were told that the puppy was not dewormed and had “the worst case of hookworms” that the vet had ever seenIn the following hours, the puppy had two blood transfusions and spent three days on IVs in the hospital and had in vet billsWhen we notified the breeder of the vet findings, they refused all calls and ignored all textsMy issue with PuppyFind is regarding their review processI wrote a detailed review of the breeder, which was disputed by the seller and automatically deletedI was not notified of the deleted review and the breeder is allowed to continue selling puppies through the website without any mark of feedbackThe site cares more about breeders than the buyersI contacted PuppyFind to ask about the feedback process and I share my questions and PuppyFind responses below:
Question: When the negative feedback was disputed by the seller, I never received any notificationIt was just taken downWhy was I not notified?
Answer: The system does not notify the seller when a review is posted and it does not notify the buyer if it is disputedThe documentation request is the notification, which will be sent out this weekComment: As the buyer, I must keep up with the breeder on PuppyFind to see if they have disputed the feedbackIf they dispute the feedback, I must recognize this and file a disputeQuestion: I understand that sellers should be able to dispute reviews, but simply ignoring negative reviews without notifying the buyer gives the seller an opportunity to simply mark all bad reviews as fakeIs it the responsibility of the buyer to continually check back to PuppyFind to ensure that the review is still available?
Answer: All disputed reviews are put into a queue and worked the same week, and all disputed reviews will require supporting documentation for the statements in them, so proof of purchase, vet documentation, text/email correspondence, etccan be sent inVerbal conversation information and opinions cannot be included in disputed reviewsComment: This does not answer my question but brings up a couple of important pointsFirst, PuppyFind decides what can be included in the reviewNo other consumer website requires this much proof for a feedback systemAlso, much of the conversation with breeders/vet/techs/etcis verbalThere are laws that prohibit recording private conversations without consentThis is, again, protecting the sellerIt seems that there can be abuse of the review system from both sidesBreeders likely bash other breeders, but bad breeders can simply brush off all negative feedback as fakeI am disappointed at PuppyFind's support of poor breeding practices without fully obtaining a story from both sidesIt is not the responsibility of a single buyer to ensure that others are not harmed by the same poor breeding practicesPlease stop disregarding buyer perspectives in favor of negligible posting fees

This site is allowing fraudulent breeder, Artic Alsatian, place photos that aren't of dogs they even own, they stole the pictures from another site, and placing dogs for sale that they don't even own and all the info about the animals are wrongWhen several people who own that breed of dog wrote the site the site said nothing was wrong and didn't do anything

Once again puppy find shows that it is biased towards the sellers.  Of course a random picture should not be accepted, but when the picture comes from the seller (11/13/16) with the title "Remi is on her way" as evidence that the seller gave the dog to the transport company and you can see the bite what more evidence can there be.  I also offered to revise my review since I could not prove in writing (although it did happen as I said) part of what the review said, but puppy find denied this once again because it is in their best interest to protect the sellers who pay them to list their puppies for sale.  Bottom line is I have proof that I bought the puppy from the seller and that the puppy arrived with a bite.  I also know the puppies behaviors since I lived with the puppy and should be able to leave a review to help warn future buyers.

Hello,PuppyFind values all our members whether they pay for a membership or not.  Disputed review decisions are not made based on whether the member has paid.  Due to the abuse of the review system, such as breeders bashing other breeders, people using the system as a message board and other such fake reviews being posted, we have no other choice but to allow sellers to dispute what they feel are invalid reviews, and require supporting documentation for the negative statements posted.  Our intention is not to question our member’s honesty, it is to validate their honesty with documentation so the other members on the site can know that the negative information posted is true, and not just a posting to damage the credibility of the seller due to competition by other breeders. Any issues with the dog have to be documented by a professional, such as a vet or professional trainer.  The emails provided by the buyer do not show the seller is taking responsibility for the dog getting bitten by something before it was shipped, and the bite wasn't documented by a vet until almost a week later, not right after the dog was received.  No other documentation has been provided to support the other statements in the review.  This situation will have to be resolved directly with the seller in question and outside of the website. We are sorry that this has been such a frustrating experience for the buyer, but we do have to follow the guidelines and policies that are in place for disputed reviews.  We value the member’s feedback regarding the disputed review process, and will take their comments into consideration for future site improvements in this area. Thank you,PuppyFind.com Customer Support

Hello,All disputed reviews must have proof of purchase and supporting documentation to support the statements in the review.  If the documentation supports the statements then the review may be reinstated, if the documentation does not support the statements then it cannot be reinstated....

In this instance the buyer provided the following documentation to support the following statements:11-11-16 and 11-12-16 no mention of the dog being bitten in the email correspondence. 11-13-16 the buyer received the dog11-14-16 the buyer emailed the seller stating ‘…We will get her into the vet shortly and see what he says about her bite. She is acting fine and adjusting quite well so far…’11-14-16 the seller responded ‘...Also the Bite has her system upset.....Sorry For What Has Happened....When will Remi be seeing the Vet.....Hopefully Soon....We are Very Concerned About Remi......We are Grateful Remi Is Adjusting Well too you an your Family....That Is Wonderful…’11-19-16 the buyer took the dog to the vet and a dime sized mass was noted. No other health concerns were noted. Disputed reviews cannot contain opinions, verbal conversations, or any statements that do not have supporting documentation.  Photos cannot considered documentation due to not being able to verify the identity of the person or pet or time frame of the photo. It is unfortunate that Mr. [redacted] did not have a good experience with this seller, but the documentation provided does not show the seller would be responsible and do not support the statements the buyer made in the review.  Hopefully any issues the dog is having will resolve soon. Please let us know if you need additional information.Thank you,PuppyFind.com Support

In response to Complaint ID#: [redacted] regarding [redacted].It is unfortunate that Ms. [redacted] did not have a pleasant experience with this seller. We do wish that all members that use the site have an enjoyable outcome, but unfortunately that is not always the case.PuppyFind.com is an online...

bulletin board service like ads in the newspaper, and is meant to be a means to initiate the sale and so we do not get involved in the terms/completion of the sale. Ms. [redacted] contacted the seller directly, sent them payment in full and then canceled the sale with the seller.  Every sellers cancellation policy is different, but this seller did offer a full refund and has refunded $500.00 out of $1350.00 so far.  When PuppyFind.com contacted the seller regarding the situation on 10-20-15 they stated that they would contact the buyer and setup a deadline when the remainder of the refund would be sent.  It appears that has not happened.  PuppyFind.com has contacted the seller in question and let them know their account has been suspended until the remainder of the refund has been paid.Ms. [redacted] was able to leave a negative review on the seller’s account and she also has the option of pursuing legal action against the seller if necessary. The payment for the dog was not made to PuppyFind.com, it was made directly to the seller and so any compensation the buyer is requesting will have to be resolved directly with the seller in question.  Hopefully Ms. [redacted] will receive the remainder of her refund soon. Please let me know if we can be of any further assistance.Sincerely,PuppyFind.com Customer Support###-###-####Mon.-Fri. 8am-4pm MST

Hello,We have reviewed the account in question and it appears the issue has already been resolved through our email customer support team.  PuppyFind.com is an email based website, but a phone number is listed on the Revdex.com website. We are not seeing any issue with Ms. [redacted]’s account until...

11-13-16.  On that date, it appear that her login information was requested and sent to her email that is on her account of [email protected], which would indicate that the scammer had access to her email account and was able to get her login information for her PuppyFind account. The first email correspondence that we received from Ms. [redacted] regarding this situation was on 11-14-16 at 12:41pm from the email of [redacted], which was not the email she was using on her account.  We requested additional information to find her account and the agent immediately suspended the account.  We were able to see that someone requested her login information on 11-13-16, and then changed the email on the account on 11-14-16. We changed the email back, blocked the scam email, removed the scam listings, and gave Ms. [redacted] a temporary password to get back into her account.  We responded as soon as we received the complaint and corrected the issue the same day. It is advisable for Ms. [redacted] to change the password on her email account to guard against this happening again.  Ms. [redacted] should have full access to her account at this time.  If she has any additional issues she is welcome to call [redacted] M-F 9am-4pm MST.Thank you,PuppyFind.com Customer Support
