Purely Poultry Reviews (25)

I ordered French Copper Maran chicks from Purely Poultry a couple months ago and I am very pleased with the chicks. Very healthy, arrived well, and never had a problem with shipping stress. The staff at Purely Poultry communicated wonderfully with all my questions. I used there Chat online and spoke to Meghan and she helped tremendously well. I will go back to Purely Poultry for chick orders. I have listed them on my FB page as a great hatchery to order chicks.

What a great company to buy chickens from, the chicks are always healthy and they always include an extra one, my chickens are now big and laying the most beautiful eggs that look so nice to sell or give away, I highly recommend buying from this company, one time that I did have an issue the customer support team was the best in resolving the issue..

Bought a large order recently. Lost half of them- rest showed blood in stools. Even with medication, most died. Cocci problem with the hatchery.Only refunded lost ones in 24 hours, but lost most within 48 hours. Other batches form 2 other hatcheries thriving with no issues, but did keep all chicks from different hatcheries separate.
Last year had a problem also. Bought silkies and received mostly mixes.

Review: I recently purchased four peafowl eggs from a hatchery for the sole purpose of hatching them. After receiving them and incubating them per their instructions none of them hatched. I contacted the company (Purely Poultry). They told me they only guarantee that they arrive in good condition and do not guarantee that they are fertile. I would consider an egg from a hatchery in good condition should be fertile. I could understand a 70% hatching rate or even 50% but 0? I asked for replacements for a fertility problem and they refused to help me except to say that I can purchase more next season. I was not asking for a refund just a replacement of what they sent me because they guarantee they arrive in good condition. Unfertile eggs are not a good condition if you plan on hatching them. I followed all the instructions from their website very closely. I even have a incubator that turns the eggs automatically. At this point, I am not even sure if they were peacock eggs at all. Thank you in advance for your time.

Sincerely, [redacted]Desired Settlement: Replacement of original purchase when they become available

Response:

Thank you for the opportunity to respond regarding your experience with hatching eggs. Purely Poultry prides ourselves in offering quality products and exemplary customer service.Due to environmental factors and many variables outside of our control, we are not able to guarantee that eggs will hatch. We do have our egg policy available on our website where it does state our guarantee, which is: Eggs: We guarantee eggs to arrive in good condition. We do not guarantee hatch rates nor fertility as this is not under our control. By ordering hatching eggs from us, you accept this responsibility. We do NOT give refunds on eggs because of fertility or hatch rates under any circumstances. As mentioned, we do guarantee that the eggs will arrive to you intact. In addition, eggs that are shipped must be allowed to sit for a period of 12-24 hours prior to the incubation process, and am unsure as, according to your statement, they may have been placed in the incubator immediately.Hatching eggs is not an exact science, even for professionals at times. We do understand the outcome of the hatching experience was less favorable than you had anticipated, and wish you the best in your future hatching endeavors. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.[redacted]

Response:

I ordered thirty Plymouth White Rocks. Twenty-five females and five males. The web site said it would take two to six weeks for them to arrive.......three days later my chickens were delivered......wasn't quite ready for them, but what ever. They didn't look like what my Grandmother had from the beginning, so I e-mailed them, they assured me they were what I ordered. When they finally got their feathers, more than half turned out to be White Leghorns. Will never order from them again....you can't tell the difference in white breed chickens until the feathers come in. Didn't get what I ordered at all.
