We hired RS Roofing to do repairs to our home following a hail storm in March 2016. The work has been completed to our satisfaction months ago. We made two payments to RS Roofing, and our mortgage company held $1,053.99 in insurance money, pending completion of the work to their satisfaction. The mortgage company inspected the work and forwarded the remaining check to us on January 3rd 2017. We have tried to contact RS Roofing on numerous occasions since that date. We need them to pick up their check, but, before we can pay them, we need a notarized statement from them that they will not attach a lien to our home. This is required by the mortgage company. We have left messages on their business phone and they never returned our calls. Only once in all this time was the phone answered and my wife talked to Scot. It was on March 13th and he stated that he would talk to *** and "see about getting someone out there". No-one has been out here and no communication has been received. We talked to our insurance company and they have notified RS Roofing that the claim is paid in full and closed.
I spoke with Mr. *** today at 3:42 PM.
We will pick up the check and provide him with a receipt clearly stating that this project has been paid in full.

I am rejecting this response because: I did, in fact, receive a phone call from *** from the roofing company on the date he indicated. He said that he would bring a statement to my home that no monies are owed to subcontractors and the bill is paid in full. I would pay him the remaining balance upon receipt of the statement
So far he has not complied with this.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
My wife and I had no problem with the work or finances involved when RS Roofing repaired storm damage to our house. The issue was not about these things. RS Roofing honored the contract as originally agreed, in a timely fashion, using quality products, and completed to our satisfaction. We believe they are a good and honest company.
The contention came after repairs were finished and we tried to close the contract in accordance with instructions from our mortgage company. For some reason we have not determined, the company stalled for months, seeming to be purposely avoiding contact and would not meet with us or even answer our phone calls. This raised our concern that something shady was going on behind our backs.
Thankfully, it proved to be not so. RS Roofing has now responded and the issue is settled and closed. We thank RS Roofing for the work they did well, and regret the customer relations situation that occurred.
